Speaking of hair in soaps, generally…maybe hairdos where the actors aren’t continually pushing their locks out of their faces and eyes?

DAYS winning for music direction and composition for a daytime drama, I think DOOL’s background music is the worse of the 4 shows…

So disappointing. Once again not able to watch. And The Bay? Again, not able to watch. Y&R still the best ON TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still smarting that All My Children isn’t on ABC. Really sucks.

I hate to say it, but DAYS OF OUR LIVES has HAD it’s day – Maybe it’s me, I know soaps are silly, and I’m not growing younger and I remember the good ole’ days of ALL MY CHILDREN – of course, as I said, I was younger and even though they were preposterous even then, I enjoyed them. Now, watching Days of Our Lives, it’s so ridiculous, or maybe in today’s modern high-tech World it just doesn’t make it – and the writing on Days is just awful. How it got nominated for anything is in itself a wonder.

DAYS Kate Mansi Learns The Ropes Of Directing A Multi-Cam Soap In New DOOL App Series

She has won a Daytime Emmy for her stellar performances as Abigail Deveraux, but now as many know, Kate Mansi has been spreading her wings as a director behind-the-camera.

Mansi follows on the heels of such fan favorite actresses as: Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS), Heather Tom (Katie, B&B), Cady McClain (Dixie and Rosanna Ex-AMC and ATWT) and Kimberly McCullough (Robin, GH) all who have eventually gone on to direct daytime and primetime episodes  of noted and successful series.

In the new DOOL app four-part series, From On-Stage to Behind-The-Scenes with Kate Mansi, the talented young actress learns the rigors and demands of working behind the camera in the fast world of daytime drama from Days of our Lives‘ director (and another Emmy winner) Sonia Blangiardo, who mentors Kate through the process.

The series talks about the current movement of having more female directors getting opportunities and be recognized for their work in film and TV, and the challenges a soap opera director faces every day: from dry block, where they work with the actors, working through their shot lists, and the ensuing problems that can arise in any production on the day to day.  But in soaps, the pressure is really on, because there is not much time to re-shoot things and to get them right.

Chandler Massey Talks More On The DAYS WilSon Departure On The Freddie & Alyssa Show

As promised by Freddie Smith (Sonny, DAYS) earlier in the week, his on-screen co-star,  Chandler Massey (Will)  was the special guest on the Freddie & Alyssa Show.  The podcast spend most of the episode giving Chandler and Freddie’s perspective of what happened and how they found out how they were being written-off Days of our Lives as beloved couple, WilSon.

While Freddie and Chandler do not in any way reveal what happens in the final six episodes they taped, or what was contained in the scripts, Chandler expressed  that it wasn’t until they received the six and final script of their promised six episodes, when the show resumed production after its long hiatus, that they realized what was happening.

During the podcast, both men talked about their disappointment of being written-off the show; saying that have always been good employees doing what the soap had been required and requested of them throughout their time on the NBC daytime drama series.

Check out more below on the podcast.

I’ve put people in prison and been imprisoned. And offscreen, I’ve made friendships that I will have for a lifetime. All the while, I’ve been so fortunate to have the love and support of the greatest fans in the world. I hope you know how thankful I am to have had you at my side.
