Speaking of hair in soaps, generally…maybe hairdos where the actors aren’t continually pushing their locks out of their faces and eyes?

DAYS winning for music direction and composition for a daytime drama, I think DOOL’s background music is the worse of the 4 shows…

So disappointing. Once again not able to watch. And The Bay? Again, not able to watch. Y&R still the best ON TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still smarting that All My Children isn’t on ABC. Really sucks.

I hate to say it, but DAYS OF OUR LIVES has HAD it’s day – Maybe it’s me, I know soaps are silly, and I’m not growing younger and I remember the good ole’ days of ALL MY CHILDREN – of course, as I said, I was younger and even though they were preposterous even then, I enjoyed them. Now, watching Days of Our Lives, it’s so ridiculous, or maybe in today’s modern high-tech World it just doesn’t make it – and the writing on Days is just awful. How it got nominated for anything is in itself a wonder.

EP Ken Corday Shares Favorite All-Time DAYS Storyline Is Marlena’s Possession

While in Australia, Ken Corday, the executive producer of Days of our Lives, sat down for an interviews segment on 9Now’s Today Extra to talk about the rich history and enduring success of the long-running NBC daytime drama series, which is about to celebrate yet another anniversary in just a few short weeks on November 8th.

During the conversation, Ken was asked about his all-time favorite storyline, or if he had a frontrunner within the wealth of twist, turns, romances, adventure, and drama that has been part of the town of Salem for over five and a half decades.  Corday expressed that he did have a frontrunner … and that is was Marlena being possessed by the devil from the mid-90’s.

Ken told the Today Extra hosts: ‘When we took Deidre Hall, the lovely Marlena Evans, and had her possessed by the devil. It was right out of The Exorcist!’

The EP also admitted at first he was reticent to tell the story:  “I first said, ‘No, you’re mad this will never work!’ But we did it for a few weeks, and the story was meant to play out and then end at Christmas, but it ended up going on until Easter.”

That plot came from the mind of the late soap scribe, James Reilly, and had gone through many twists from when John Black (Drake Hogestyn) was a priest in one of that character’s many incarnations, and at the time, it was John who has to perform that exorcism on the woman he loved, after Stefano (the late Joe Mascolo) left Marlena vulnerable for demonic forces to enter her body.

There was the bed levitating, the yellow eyes, and more, along with Deidre Hall’s great performance, that made this one of the more spectacular soap opera tales ever told on daytime.   In fact, over the weekend, Hall commented on Corday’s choice tweeting:  “Couldn’t have said it better myself!!”

So, would you vote for Marlena’s possession as your top all-time Days story .. or do you have another pick that you think ranks at the top? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section below.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Stefan is Brain-Dead After Getting In Lani’s Line Of Fire

If you caught last Friday’s Days of our Lives, and as we head into a new and dramatic-filled week ahead in Salem, after jumping in front of a bullet meant for Vivian (Robin Strasser), Stefan (Brandon Barash) has been shot badly – he has a gun shot wound to the neck through the carotid artery.

Lani (Sal Stowers), who fired the shot in an effort to stop and take down Vivian for her crimes against Kate (Lauren Koslow), et al, now finds herself in very, very hot water, and none more so than with Stefan’s wife, Gabi (Camila Banus).

In the waiting area, Gabi shows up and confronts Lani. However, Lani and Abe (James Reynolds) try to explain it was an accident.  Gabi reminds him of how he felt after Theo was shot.  As Gabi runs off to see Stefan, Lani cries, “What if he dies?”

When Gabi arrives in the trauma room, she is told by Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and team that they worked on Stefan for over 20 minutes but he is brain-dead. Vivian, who alerted Gabi to what happened, and showed up at the hospital incognito in her scrubs to check up on the fate of her son, is trying to make her escape plan from Salem
