DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Lani Returns as Salem Grieves Abe’s ‘Death’; But Clues are Piling Up as All is Not What it Seems

On Tuesday’s July 4th episode of Peacock’s Days of our Lives, Sal Stowers made her highly-anticipated return as Lani Price Grant. Today in Salem, is supposed to be the homegoing service for the presumed dead Abe Carver (James Reynolds), Lani’s adoptive and beloved father.

At this point, Abe is believed to have drowned in the water at the pier. Lani, who was able to arrange for a short release from prison, and Eli (Lamon Archey) make their way to Theo’s (Cameron Johnson) hotel room, so Lani can be with her brother, who is grieving terribly for Abe. Theo also reminds Eli and Lani that today is their wedding anniversary. Lani reveals the duo have decided not to celebrate and to concentrate on Abe’s memorial.

Meanwhile, John (Drake Hogestyn) has dream about Abe, who says to him, “Goodbye old friend.” Later, John has a flashback of his beloved friend on the docks at a key point in John’s life when he found out he was not the real Roman Brady. He later shares this with Marlena (Deidre Hall).

On to Nurse Whitley King (Kim Coles) and her plot … she is reading a newspaper when she sees Abe’s photo on the front page. Abe shows up in in his wheelchair, wondering why she looks so upset. She says it’s a story of a man who drowned on the docks. He wants to read the story for himself. Whitley talks away around it, by saying it could trigger another seizure for him.

Since she is getting to leave for work, Abe says it’s very lonely for him when she’s gone. (Remember, he ‘thinks’ she’s Paulina) Abe asks, “Couldn’t Theo come by and hang out?” Whitley shocks Abe telling him his son went back to South Africa. He can’t believe his son wouldn’t come and say goodbye. He then asks about Chanel (Raven Bowens). Whitley says Chanel would love to see her “step-pop pop,” but she has no time right now and very busy at work.

Whitley gives him some solace by telling him he has got to watch the next part of the soap opera Body and Soul because one of the premiere soap bitches, Lorna debuts. When the show plays, it’s revealed Kate (Lauren Koslow) is Lorna sipping her signature champagne.

Paulina (Jackée Harry) is at home with Chanel mourning Abe, when Lani and Eli show up. Paulina is so glad to see her daughter. After they touch base, Lani wants to go to the police station to look at the evidence in Abe’s case. Once there, Lani looks around her old stomping grounds and Elani share a moment of remembrance and love between then on their anniversary.

Once in the interrogation and looking at the file of evidence, including DNA, Lani recalls wanting Abe to her bio-dad when she first came to Salem with a touching flashback. In the present day, she sees a photo of Jerry (Terrell Ransom Jr.) that looks like a headshot. Eli explains Jerry is an actor. Lani looks curious and quite suspicious.

Meanwhile, at Whitley’s apartment, Abe watches Body and Soul and sees Jerry “faux Theo” portraying a character in a scene with Lorna. A confused Abe says out loud, “Theo?”

John and Steve, who are having a hard time grasping that Abe is really gone, get some feedback from Marlena, that perhaps John’s dream about Abe was not about Abe saying ‘goodbye’ but a message that something is not right. At the end of the episode, Whitley knocks on Paulina’s front door and the two come face-to-face.

Serena Scott Thomas to Days of our Lives, But What Role Will She Play?

Look who’s coming to Salem next? In a tease on their official Instagram account, Days of our Lives has revealed that Serena Scott Thomas has been on set and will debut in an upcoming role, leaving many fans guessing just who might she play.

The English actress and documentary producer has previously starred in Diana, Her Story as Diane Prince of Wales, Dr. Molly Warmflash in the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough, and played the villainess ‘Watcher” in Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, and Bruce Willis’ wife in the film, Hostages among others.

Serena is the younger sister of Kristen Scott Thomas, best known for her Oscar-nominated role in The English Patient. Several DAYS fans are already weighing in that Serena will play Konstantine’s (John Kaeplos) wife.

However, NannyKat 63 may have it all figured out the best, when she posted, that not only will “Serena play Kostantine’s wife,” but the character “had an affair with Victor Kiriakis and got pregnant.” Thus, making Xander (Paul Telfer) her son. She went on to theorize, “Perhaps, And John and Steve will find her in the nick of time… and she’ll enter in time to stop the wedding of Maggie to him. Xander will find out his true identity then. The baby was given to Victor’s brother to be raised in Scotland.”

Sounds plausible to us! Another guess came from donnamoore_23 who said, “Ya’ll think he could be Bobberette ‘s mom or sister or .. SOMETHING to do with his story .. someone who can back up what trauma he went through to be so sick? 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I think y’all are right could be Katerina.”

Two DAYS stars, Tamara Braun (Ava) and Linsey Godfrey (Sarah) also shared comments on Serena Scott Thomas’ upcoming appearance on DAYS. Godfrey simply said, “YES!!!! while Braun add her guess, expressing, “Ava’s mum. Oh wait, her mom was killed by her dad. Or was she? 🤔”

Arianne Zucker Reveals Her Last Days of our Lives Airdate

Arianne Zucker, who is no longer on contract with Days of our Lives, and involved in a lawsuit against the show, took to her You Tube channel and in her latest episode, and offered up what she believes is her final airdate as Nicole Walker DiMera.

The actress expressed: “I was really appreciative of the amount of support that I have had since leaving Days of our Lives.” She then added, “My last airdate, I think, it’s July 29th and we’ll see how things go after that.”

Zucker went on to say how she has continued to receive overwhelming support since suing her former employer, Corday Productions, with the allegations that former Co-EP Albert Alarr sexually harassed her and other females at the show, and that the production company entity did not respond sufficiently and adequately.

After lodging her complaints, Zucker said her agents received two notices that Corday Productions were reducing her pay before her character was ultimately written off. Zucker’s contract expired in January and since DAYS tapes over six months ahead it brings her final airdate, which as of now, to the end of July. Zucker is suing for harassment, discrimination, retaliation, negligent hiring and supervision, and wrongful termination among other claims.

Previously, Corday Productions issued this statement on Zucker’s claims: “The allegations in Ms. Zucker’s lawsuit are without merit. Corday Productions, offered to renew Ms. Zucker’s contract including offering her a pay increase. Rejecting Ms. Zucker’s counteroffer does not constitute retaliation. Complaints about Mr. Alarr’s on-set behavior were promptly investigated. Corday Productions fully cooperated with the impartial investigation and subsequently terminated Mr. Alarr.”

On her You Tube channel, Arianne went on to thank everyone who came out to the east coast fan event last weekend that featured several DAYS stars. She expressed, “My whole goal is to really help people stand up for themselves.” Arianne also shared she thinks it’s important for people who have gone through trauma to help each other through it.

On DAYS, Nicole is still in the dark that Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) is raising her child, Jude, with Eric (Greg Vaughan), and Eric also doesn’t know that he is raising his biological son. Will Eric and Nicole reunite and will Nicole find out what Sloan, Melinda and Leo (Greg Rikaart) have been hiding for months, before she exits the show? Stay tuned. There has been on official confirmation from DAYS that July 29th is Zucker’s final airdate.

DAYS and ‘Supernatural’ Alum Jensen Ackles Joins the Cast of Justin Hartley’s CBS Series ‘Tracker’

Look who’s joining Justin Hartley’s hit freshman drama, Tracker! None other than another soap alum, former Days of our Lives and Supernatural favorite Jensen Ackles.

In a reveal via Hartley’s Instagram on Thursday, Ackles is set to play Hartley’s on-screen brother on the CBS procedural drama. In Tracker, Colter Shaw is estranged from his brother, Russell, which has been a big part of the mystery of season one.

Ackles is best known for his long run as Dean Winchester in The CW’s Supernatural, a role he reprised in the prequel of the series The Winchesters. He also recently starred in ABC’s Big Sky as Sheriff Beau Arlen and in The Boys as Soldier Boy.

Jensen was the original Eric Brady on Days of our Lives, a role he played from 1997-2000, before departing for the world of primetime and film. Eric was in love with Nicole played by Arianne Zucker. The part of Eric was recast with Greg Vaughan taking over the role in 2012.

In his Instagram post, Justin thanked everyone for watching Tracker, and then revealed Ackles as the surprise casting announcement in the role of Russell, while Jensen was playing pinball in the video! No word yet on when Jensen’s first episode as Russell will air. Stay tuned.
