Days Of Our Lives
DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Marlena Gets An Earful! Sonny Lowers The Boom On Will!
The final moments of Thursday’s episode of Days of our Lives have left viewers waiting to see just what will be the fallout from revelations dropped by Paul Narita (Christopher Sean) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) on some unsuspecting people.
First, an upset Paul has taken a therapy session with Will’s (Guy Wilson) grandmother, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall)! At the beginning of the session, Paul discusses how when he came out to his mother recently, and how she revealed to her son that she knew all along. Paul felt his mother was hoping his truth would never see the light of day, which has, now that Will’s expose’ on the former pro baseball player has been published both online and in the publication, Sonix.
As the session continues, Paul drops a bombshell on Marlena: he admits to having a fling with the journalist of the article … Will Horton! He then reveals it was even more upsetting to learn that Will is the husband of the man he loves and came to Salem for …. Sonny Kiriakis! Marlena is horrified, and Deidre Hall’s reaction was priceless! What will Marlena do now that she has all the Intel on the situation between these three men?
Meanwhile, Sonny is on the edge and the emotional brink, after his earlier conversation with Paul and sitting in a hospital bed recovering from his attack and surgery. Sonny is just stewing over the fact that Paul and Will slept together, and FINALLY, he lets Will know that bellhop Derrick (Spencer Neville) supplied him with information. Derrick knew that Will was having an affair with Paul!
Kudos to Freddie Smith and Christopher Sean for their performance throughout the episode, as well. Now, what will Will have to say for himself?
What did you think about the scenes between Marlena and Paul, and Will and Sonny? What do you hope comes next … a major WilSon break-up? Marlena to the rescue to patch things up? At this point, are you rooting for Paul in all of this, since he just came out publicly, admitted he loves Sonny, and knows he made a big boo-boo by having sex with Will? Share your thoughts below!

Stephen Schnetzer Talks On His Return to Days of our Lives and Working with Susan Seaforth Hayes In Emotional Episodes
Who says you can’t go home again? In the case of Another World favorite, Stephen Schnetzer (ex-Cass Winthrop), he has proven that it is true, and you can go back to your soap roots and where it all started for you.
Last week on April 11th, Schnetzer, along with several other key returns were on set at Days of our Lives taping all-new episodes of the Peacock streaming soap opera, centering on the funeral of Doug Williams (the late Bill Hayes), and as part of the iconic soap opera’s 15,000th episode.
Stephen is reprising his first daytime role as Steve Olson, the brother of Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). The last time Schnetzer appeared on a DAYS set was during his one and only run on the show from 1978 to 1980. Clearly, viewers will be in for some very emotional scenes when Steve returns to Salem to be there for his sister, Julie in her time of need. In real-life, Susan has been going through her own grief, having just lost Bill back on January 12th at the age of 98.
Michael Fairman TV caught up with Stephen during the 15K episode celebration ceremony, and during a break from taping the gut-wrenching funeral scenes, to get his thoughts on being part of these highly-anticipated moments that will air later this year in December. Here’s what he shared with us below.
What has this been like for you to work with Susan Seaforth Hayes after all of these years?
STEPHEN: She’s a dream and she’s so bright. We ran lines yesterday and we ended up just visiting for about 45 minutes and just catching up and telling tales about each other’s career. She even dropped off the autobiography that she and Bill did. And being back here at DAYS, every time I turn a corner, there’s another familiar face. When I was on the show 40 more years ago, a bunch of the guys, played softball on a team together. This is really a trip down memory lane as I knew it would be.
Taping Doug’s funeral must be a hard day for Susan. Are you checking in with her to help hold her up through this?
STEPHEN: I am and I’m checking in with Amy Shaughnessy (Susan’s assistant), and she’s holding her up more than anybody. We’re there for each other.
There will obviously be some major hankie-inducing moments when Steve comes back to Salem to console his sister.
STEPHEN: Oh, wait till you see it in December. It’s going to be great.
Were you surprised you got this call to come back to the show decades later?
STEPHEN: It was out of the blue! I was completely surprised. They should have called me decades ago! That’s what surprised me. When Another World went down, I thought I’d land somewhere else and it never happened. That was more of a surprise.
Cass is such an identifiable character for you. As well, you and Linda Dano (ex-Felicia Gallant) are so synonymous together as best friends Cass and Felicia from Another World. When fans heard you were reprising your role as Steve Olson on DAYS, they are now hoping there will be more of you on the show to come.
STEPHEN: Steven Olson is a real “Cassian “character. I cut my teeth on Steve Olson and that’s how Cass was introduced. He was kind of a roguish charmer. And then when the character stuck for Another World, they rehabilitated me, and turned me into one of the shows heroes. And that’s what would’ve happened if I stayed as Steve Olson probably. So, Steve is the ‘pre-Cass’, Cass.
As the story goes, you originally decided to leave Days of our Lives?
STEPHEN: I was never on contract. I was doing a day and a half a week and I got a Broadway play directed by Franco Zeffirelli starring Joan Plowright and Frank Finlay. I was able to it as I didn’t have to break a contract or anything. I cut loose and went back to New York for that.
How well did you get to know Bill Hayes during your first time around on DAYS?
STEPHEN: My first episode was with Bill and Susan, as her long lost brother coming into Salem. They were so good to me. They were so kind. I had been doing eight years of classical repertory theater, never been in front of a camera. I tell everybody, it took me longer than any other actor I’ve ever seen to get comfortable in front of a camera. And they were very supportive at that time in my career. Coming back to honor Bill now in 2024, and to be see Susan, I am just so happy to be here.
Looking forward to seeing the scenes between Stephen and Susan Seaforth Hayes come December and Doug’s funeral and surrounding episodes? Do you hope that DAYS might bring the character of Steve Olson back for a longer stay? Comment below.

Y&R’s Hayley Erin Previews Her Role in Horror-Thriller ‘New Life’
I have always loved the character of Marlena. Love Deidre Hall.
I hope that nuWill buys a one way ticket to CA to visit his mother-the sooner the better!
He is no Chandler Massey, but I do think he is a talented actor…just not sure Will is the right role for him…DAYS should recast again!
Marlena should confess that Willl is her grandson. But she sure looked shocked. Loved it.
And good for Sonny not brushing it under the rug. I’m surprised he didn’t throw that ring across the room.
Will nervously suggests a threesome.
Well, as a doctor she cannot divulge the information that Will is her own
grandson.
Great episodes!!
I hope Clyde , Serena, Anne, Aiden, and Ben all leave town!
The new writers need to bring back Maggie’s daughter, Shaun and Belle, BO!!! And Patch?
Hope the new writers turn things around.
I so hoped Clyde was dead.
I like Anne.
Ben and Serena can leave. Aiden is okay. Glad Justin is back.
Anne and Aiden are just fine, in the cast.
Serena… doesn’t it seem like she’s finally finding her footing ?
I liked that she ably helped Melanie out , with figuring out who this dastardly fertility dr. Moondrake is
if DAYS needs catty in your face toe to toe… between Nicole and Serena… then these two are certainly pulling it off
a part of me is quite glad that Serena is ably making her mark with everything else…
geez! as HOT as Eric is…. DAG! “writers” give us a expletive break already! either let him stud muffin strut some, or …. ?? send him off to a convent ???? or wherever monks do what they do
i wonder if Serena and Rafe could tango
it’s just a matter of time, before Clyde gets his just dessert… Victor Kiriakis isn’t about to lie low and nest… albeit in the tender arms of maggie…. LOVE LOVE.. LOVE them
TA-DA !!!! shout out! the Kiriakis CLAN are front and center MARQUEE
dang it! I posted to @Timmmm, that DAYS is on par top tiering with GH in the cast category… and dang me, not, DAYS does not…. glitz, splash, and GRAND spectrum like GH… but… dollars to donuts…. I tune in with MY relish
DAYS is on par equal footing in the acting… draw
Wally Kurth : Justin is back!
Sonny : “It’s great to have a dad again”
father and son are priceless… Freddie Smith just captured the right amount of child / son ethos… to tug at the heart… as Adrienne and Justin supported him.
this is going to be too good…. the rift and time gone of without marriage between Justin and Adrienne is going to hit the fan and fire us all up
———–
this is most all from Tuesday’ Ep …
Hope and Aiden… are killing it… most deftly, by Daniel Cosgrove…
As he teared up ; released his pent-up energy ; TORE at me
He’s in the pre-nom best lead actor for a reason….
Aiden : “You’ve been building a case against me ever since you got here”
Hope: “The evidence IS mounting”
love the play between the lines… Aiden, AIDEN, AiDen. “Thank You”
—————-
Paul Norita : “The Final OUT”
“despite” all the brouhaha , that Paul should have known : ie: Will and Sonny
this really was Paul’ Honest & Touching Reveal…
i’m ecstatic for this trio… I overlook Guy Wilson as the weaker of the three… it’s real sensation replete with love, fire, romance, and who ultimately surfaces with heart
TEARS for these three actors.. and everyone else inclusive
here’s a disgruntle : LOL
Brady and Melanie…. ugh! OK I can’t stand her one-piece sweaters off the shoulder with belt… just too cutesy cutesy…. Ms. Nancy Drewing … will she continue to help Theresa.. I think she will… perhaps this will help Melanie and Theresa down the line….
I don’t know… fire away… if Daniel, Eric, and brady… are besties… i’d think these three are all in the same age range…. it would creep me out… to think that one of my best friends was dating my daughter ???? I don’t know.. this is forced… let’s see Eric Martsolf acting range… from Kristen to Theresa to Melanie… the maturity level just keeps sinking.
brady and Kristen : combustible take leave of your senses : fired
brady and Theresa : did have a lot of FUN and didn’t care what Salem thought… partied and let the chips fall where they may … LOL till Brady fell in the garden of adam and eve… and fell at everyones feet for forgiveness… Theresa is a fun show
Brady and Melanie : bubble gum anyone… ??? lets get those cute picnic baskets and take all the stars and sunsets…. LOL… DULL ? what are they going to do? Kristen and Theresa are way more fun in bed
it’s all going to rear it’s ugly head again any way… once Kristen gets back… and Theresa figures it all out
The Acting has been superb for Christopher Sean and Freddie Smith I have been watching Freddie since day one I have gotta say that he has grown into a wonderful actor I am little partial but even if wasn’t he has come into his craft quite well. The scenes of Paul coming out to his Grandfather in Japanese very nice acting,
I so agree with you. I have watched Freddie’s growth as an actor since his first day on DOOL and the past several days have been so amazing to watch. His performance on today’s episode (Friday 2/20/15) was brilliant!!! Had a lump in my throat when the tear ran down his cheek, but for more tears to follow ….. Was heartbreaking.
Marlena was great amd Sonny and Paul AMAZING! I hope that Sonny will Paul a second chance…
I think it made it even more heartbreaking that Sonny didnt stop Will from touching him while Will desperately tried to explain to Sonny that sex with Paul meant nothing to him and how much he loved Sonny!!! Great choice Freddie made me think hes taking comfort from the love of his life because he knows hes leaving him next. So heartbreaking and Will finding out that Sonny was the great love that Paul talked of was devastating to Will! All three guys have done such a magnificent job its been so exciting to wait and watch everything unfold. We are in for one hell of a dramatic couple of months!!!
Yes, Kelly. We are going to have lots of great drama here, for several months to come, so many ripples, yet to hit. I’m glad to hear you thought all three guys did a magnificent job, they truly are shinning. Freddie, Guy and Sean are working as a team to tell this story, and it’s effective, the commitment from all three actors is fantastic. Complete devotion and love to the story. What a great week for Guy, Freddie, and Sean. I look forward to seeing Freddie’s name make the emmy cut.
Yes I feel the same Jeremy Freddie deserves an Emmy for sure after his acting the past few months from the deterioration of his marriage to his shock and hurt at Wills betrayal and now Pauls as well! Freddie had so much heartache to portray and he did it with ease and a quiet anger that simmered and spoke volumes silently. When Sonny finally confronted Will with the truth he went into a panic attack as it was still so dramatic for him to accept the truth!!!
Loving this storyline and all the twists and turns. Just watched today’s eppy and was annoyed at Will’s reaction. He screwed up BIG TIME, and just had the tables turned on him- and yet his response and reaction fell kinda….flat. It was stunning to me that he *tried* to pull Sonny into being part of why he felt compelled to cheat, and that he put so much emphasis and importance on the article and getting the story at all costs. His attempts to try and defend away his behavior was just gross to me. He didn’t even truly acknowledge Sonny’s pain until well after the reveal. I would expect Will to be absolutely devastated at this point; like on his knees, horrified that he’s ruined the best thing in his life, begging for forgiveness type of reaction. Instead- he’s trying to play the victim, justify his actions, deflect the pain that it has caused, and running to Paul to point the blame at him. His character is most definitely NOT worthy of sympathy, and his reaction to all of this has made him even more unrootable in my eyes…….
Will is his mother’s son.
I totally agree. And, Will kept saying it only happened once (like that makes it ok). But am I hallucinating or didn’t they go at it twice? I find it hilarious that he seemed more upset by the fact that Sonny had a previous relationship with Paul rather than the pain that he caused Sonny.
DOOL has been great! All 4 soaps have been really good during sweeps.
Today’s show was great. Everyone did an amazing job. I was hoping Sonny would throw his ring at Will. I want them to be able to work through this but I think, in true Will fashion, he will make it all Sonny’s fault because he never told Will Paul was his ex. Even though Sonny promised not to say anything. Will will come back with, ” I thought I was the only man your proposed to yada yada yada…” I agreed with Sonny when he said Paul wasn’t Will’s first indiscretion..nothing sexually might have happened in LA but it wasn’t as innocent as Will is claiming. Then for Will to say Sonny had been with others…YES before he was with Will not after. This is going to get worse before it gets better. I am a huge WilSon supporter and was afraid when I heard this was going to happen but I am enjoying it. 🙂 They both need to work on this marriage. Will needs to do a lot of begging and groveling because what he did is obviously way worse then not telling that an ex was in town and that he had seen him. I think Will was hoping Paul would say Sonny came on to him to relieve his guilt but when Paul said Sonny told him he was married and that he is committed to his husband, there went that hope that he wouldn’t be fully responsible for destroying his marriage. Freddie did and amazing job today and I cannot wait to see what happens next!
Well we already know what has happened since Friday’s episode has aired in the East- Marlena did the professional thing and she can never admit to Will she knows, all she can do is encourage him to tell her. What I am looking forward is Marlena finding out Will confided in Kate about it over her and then seeing her confront Kate about it.
agree..that is going to be quite confrontation between Marlena and Kate!
no kudos to nuWill?! lol, he s such a miscast! pls new days writers… recast will or write him out of town and bring in derrick as the third in a derrick/ sonny/ paul triangle. derrick has charm and sex appeal to spare.
loving seeing marlena, justin, adrienne and lucas on our screams! yay for the vets!
more pls!
“… on our screams! ”
LOL
perfect and funny
yeah, it’s all about…. “yay for the vets!”
double : Marlena, Justin, Adrienne, and Lucas” then some…
DAYS is hitting it’s stride again… and if it’s all about Will and Sonny and Paul…
why not ?
riveting theatre
Powerful and moving performances by all involved in this story. Deirdre Hall — brilliant reactions!
I hope with some guidance from Grandma Marlena (love Wiil/Marlena talks), Will will find a way to convince Sonny he’s learned and will spend the rest of his life making it up to him. Hopefully Sonny will give him another chance… although he should take his time letting Will demonstrate his sincerity.
I would love to see Paul find his niche in Salem. Great character addition!
Yes….Will needs help or he will turn more into Sami. He needs to stop trying to make it everyone’s fault but his. Right away he tried to blame Sonny. Glad to see Sonny put him in his place today. He needs to continue to do that or Will will come out to be the injured one even when he is the wrong doer.
I agree, Will needs to own his fault in this.
I would also hate to see the one loving, gay couple implode within the first year of marriage. It diminishes the impact of the beautiful wedding.
I’m just interested in what other fans and viewers have to say – it seems to me that everyone has responded positively to the storyline of Will, Sonny, Paul and others. But, no one has really said “I love Ben” or “I’m crazy about Jordan” and the whole storyline involving them and their slightly deranged father, Clyde. So, I was just wondering why some storylines work well and certain actors connect well with the viewers and some, for whatever reason, just don’t.
I personally find the character of Eric a little sanctimonious and I’m not that enthralled with him and his current red-headed interest, Serena.
If this post was a little off topic I apologize.

Special note:
Give Abe and Maxine a storyline!
Why don’t we see more of Nicole’s friend, Sally?
Kayla needs Steve!
Anne’s an animal! Where’s her storyline!!!
A future quadrangle to ponder:
Theo, Ciara, Chase and Allie!!!!
A message to Dena and Josh:
You may have been hired because it seemed as if the previous writers, who’s work we still see, lost their inspiration, but you’re lucky because the show has been great for a month now. Don’t f**k up!!
Melanie and John are in a class all by themselves!
I don’t care for or watch the following:
Ben and Abby
Hope and Aiden
JJ and Eve
JJ and Paige
Eric and Serena..(.for a man who was older when he became a priest I was sure he had lived a little. he is way too naive and boring). My cousin ,who was a priest for over 50 years was more entertaining and had more “stories” 😉 than Eric ever will be or have.
My main reason for watching Days is I LOVE Will and Sonny and want them to make it.
I like Paul too..as long as he finds his own man and leaves Will and Sonny to heal.
I love Marlena and John .
Caroline can be a hoot!
Victor and Maggie are great also.
I enjoy watching Brady and Melanie together.
Want more with Nicole.
WANT MORE T!!! Where is T AND…what will he say to Will when he finds out he cheated on Sonny? That is going to be good…*crossing fingers*
Talk about falling down on the job. Guy Wilson ruined what would have been a great episode with his phony acting. Poor Freddie Smith can’t be expected to hold both ends of the rope.
Guy Wilson is doing a great job with Will considering amongst all characters in DOOL his has evolved the most. People hates Will, I hate Will which is a testament to effective portrayal. Keep up 🙂
yes, LB! yes! Guy is knocking it out of the park, along with Freddie, Sean, and Deirdre Hall!!!
I do not think I have seen a sweep on days that I was more disappointed in…So far the only thing interesting has been the VIctor, Clyde dynamics, and Marlena reaction to Paul..as far as that story goes though it could all go away and I would not care in the least. Serena and Eric have been interesting.Come on days lets get this show on the road with Kristen reveal about the baby…that is sure to cause “trouble”for J&M at the very least. The rating are out and days was at an all time low for the week.
I think Guy Wilson is doing a fantastic job and it’s ridiculous that some people rave about Christopher and Freddie’s performances without mentioning Guy. All three are giving great performances!
If you want to hate Will that’s fine but don’t hate him because Chandler Massey is no longer playing the role.
I love Will – he’s cute, goofy, sexy but he’s also very flawed (and always has been even when the previous two actors were playing the part) he’s narcissistic, self deprecating, impulsive and very spoiled. He has never realized how much Sonny loves him – maybe now he will. He deserves to be punished for his actions and he deserves to be forgiven. And Sonny will forgive him because he loves him so much. Sonny is as guilty of spoiling Will as Sami or Kate or Marlena are. Sonny has always felt the need to take care of Will.
They have a child together – Sonny feels like Ari is as much his child as Will’s. That means a lot. Sonny made it clear to Paul from the start tht he loves his husband. Paul is a great addition to the Days family and I like where they are taking his story. It certainly will be interesting to see how Paul will fit into Will and Sonny’s life.
Well said, Robert! I agree with all you articulated about Guy/Will haters. from what I recall, wasn’t Will first thought to have been Austin’s son? I wonder if viewers forget about how Will’s parents (Sami & Lucas) weren’t exactly parents of the year, ever. The history of Will is framed from how he was raised, what he saw from Sami, EJ, getting shot, coming to terms with his sexual preference. His past upbringings and experiences reflect the characteristics you described.
I think Guy is a very internalized actor and playing Will brilliantly, and actually with a sense of more maturity and depth.
I can’t believe the gay storyline all everyone is talking about, that’s when you know your in trouble. I don’t even like the storyline. Days is just plain boring.
