Days Of Our Lives
DAYS OF OUR LIVES: What Did You Think of the Reveal of Who Killed Charlie?
“Sorry Charlie!” Those were the clever words said by the killer of the evil Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) on Days of our Lives. But evil kinda knows evil, and thus viewers learned in a reveal just who was the culprit.
DAYS fans begin to get to the truth when on Monday’s episode, while under hypnosis from Marlena (Deidre Hall), John (Drake Hogestyn) recalls opening the door to the apartment in time to see someone in a red coat with a hood (very ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ but with a fashion flare) shoot Charlie.
When “Doc” brings John out of his hypnotic state, she asks him who fired the gun? John is horrified as he reveals it was their daughter, Belle! (Martha Madison). John shares that Belle was wearing the coat they gave her for Valentine’s Day. A shocked John utters, “My God, Doc. Our little girl blew that punk away.” However, Marlena refuses and does not believe Belle would shoot and kill Charlie, let alone anyone.
Jan (Heather Lindell) shows up at Marlena’s office and tells John and Marlena she is not going to be locked up, because of the deal she made for her freedom. Then, we see Jan get more inquisitive into what John and Marlena were discussing before she walked in on them. They leave to go talk to Belle to get answers, while Jan sneaks back into the office and into Marlena’s drawer to retrieve the recording device to find out exactly what John and Marlena were talking about.
It is there when Jan is alone that viewers learn what happened the night of Charlie’s death. Jan is listening to the recording of John telling Marlena that Belle shot Charlie, but that he didn’t see Belle’s face because she was wearing the red coat.
Next, Jan flashes back to Charlie saying, “Don’t shoot,” and then firing a gunshot as Charlie falls to the ground. We see the visual of the face of the person in the red coat and it’s Jan! Next, Jan smirks and says, “Sorry, Charlie.”
So it seems Jan Spears has an ultimate revenge plot to rid Belle once and for all and have her locked behind bars. How long will it be before the other Salemites catch on that Jan is the murderer?
So, were you happy to see it was Jan who was the one who killed Charlie? Did you suspect it was her? Share your thoughts in the comment section. But first, watch the moment the killer is revealed below.

ReRon’s writing jumps the proverbial shark again.
While Jan Spears is a disposable character, and in that sense, the obvious suspect, there’s no plausible way that she could wake up from a coma, disconnect all the tubes & wires connected to her, sneak out of the hospital without being seen, somehow break into Belle’s house to steal her bright red coat, then go to Charlie’s apartment (and how would she know where he lived anyway??). And then afterwards, do the reverse of all those things… sneak back into Belle’s house to drop off the coat, go back to the hospital, and somehow PUT HERSELF BACK INTO A COMA???
Nope. This is coming close to being as fucked up as that idiotic exit story he wrote for Luke Spencer on GH. And that one got him fired. So on the other horn, maybe something good might come out of this after all?
Satan
Thanks so much for all the stuff I was going to write, but was her real motive, to just go and kill someone in cold blood, to frame Belle, if so, she’s crazier than I thought, and also to think after Belle went to prison, that Shawn would then want her? God, Iam going crazy thinking about about it.
You speak the truth. 🙂
Well said.
LOL—And the devil curses; curses. I said the same thing days ago, when wide-eye, suddenly-the-picture-of-innocence-damsel-in-distress Claire visited Jan…..
There is no plausible way, of course. But, i assume this is what we will be fed. What to do but go with the flow.?! As I said, this was a last minute “arrangement”, with a cherry on top.
I am more interested in the big fat lie coming from Lucas’ mouth. I love it—
You must be grinning from ear to ear, Satan. You love liars. You LOVE sinners. Hilarious. Have you seen Charlie yet?
You “gotta” laugh. Perhaps, it’s my weird sense of humor—-but, these writers are so run-of-the-mill, it’s good to see a little underhanded humor. I think this lie broke the tedium—–“comic relief”, which I must say is a plus for the writers. We don’t see this literary device too often. Good job!!
Unless Jan has an innate talent or power to adjust the SATS unit monitoring her vitals while out of the hospital? You are right —how does she slip in and out of a coma?
Oh I definitely love sinners. Liars? Not really so much. That whole idea that I’m the “father of lies” was pretty much the first universal act of character assassination ever committed in the mortal world.
And yeah, Charlie is definitely down here. Right now he’s sharing the dragon stable clean up duties with Frodd “Baldwin” from GH.
It felt more like a filler story to me..i didnt care who did it,,,
Hi, Jimmy—-how are you??
The story is getting more and more strange, isn’t it? By the same token, all the relevant characters need to be exculpated. So, who’s the scapegoat? Jan.
So, I will be Mr(s). Monk—This is what happened…..Jan woke from her coma way before the viewer was made aware.
I said this on the other site—she snuck out of the hospital, then managed to break into Belle’s ( wherever that is), stole her coat, shot Charlie and purposely left the infamous button from Belle’s coat next to Charlie’s body.
My question is —-why would the police not find the button at the crime scene in the first place? This is a last minute “repair” job—-too obvious.
Well, it could have happened this way. LOL.
Be safe, my friend❤️
Yeah, this show deserves to be cancelled.

They are really going around the bend, that’s for sure. Every day I wonder how long I can hang on, as it gets crazier.
I don’t understand how she did it.
This is lazy writing at its ultimate personification. There were a large number of suspects, just about all of whom showed up at Charlie’s home the night of the murder. Absurdity upon absurdity topped off by an inexplicable, implausible resolution.
Making matters worse for this viewer is that I would much prefer to see Charlie Dell onscreen than more than half the cast at this point. I am fast-forwarding every Theo scene, every Susan/Kristen scene, every John Black scene as well as others because either the acting is sub-par or the character is insufferable, or both!
Jamesj75
OMG, this is everything you said plus Auntie, her daughter and Xander, Kristen again with her deserted island routine, now trying to get rid of Kate. If she succedes, that island won’t be deserted for very long. Who’s next? Chloe and anyone who keeps her from her precious idiot, Brady. I think we are the crazy ones for still watching this train wreck!
Violet, you made me laugh! I like the points you make as well. “precious idiot” — priceless!
Us? Crazy? Maybe… Take care, Friend!
Jamesj75
Help! Every day gets worse. Never thought this show would turn into a comedic farce, if that makes sense. I’m hanging on by my last nerve.
Is there a former Days writer, actor or producer on these threads. No matter what soap site I go to I always see a Days troll trashing the show, attacking the head writer and hoping the show is cancelled. It seems pretty personal to me. If you don’t like the show don’t watch and save yourself all the frustration. Works for me with GH and the Young and the Restless.
Obviously, John holds the key here. He probably did see Jan—-Doc needs to get it out of him—-hypnotize him again.
Since Belle’s coat lost a button at the crime scene, it would seem to be a logical conclusion that Jan got into some sort of struggle at the scene that would have caused the button to come off. We know from the flashbacks that Charlie never got close enough to her to make physical contact.
And based on what we have seen so far, John is the only other person who was in the apartment the same time that Jan was. So while he has so far only remembered seeing the shooter from behind (and with the hood up, assuming it was Belle) Jan would have had to turn around and walk past him to get out of the apartment. At which point, I am thinking John probably tried to stop her, and that’s where the button came from. John just hasn’t remembered this part yet. And Marlena might be hesitant to hypnotize him again, with that idiot DA Trask wanting to accuse her whole family of murder, more or less.
Another thought. Could she have simply pulled it off, leaving it conviently for them to find?
