DAYS & Venice Stars, Chappell & Bjorlin land on AfterEllen's Hot 100 List!

Those sexy and talented stars of Days of our Lives and Venice have made it again to the website AfterEllen.com’s Hot 100 list for 2011.  Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe, DAYS, Lara, Venice) came in at the number sixty-nine spot, while Crystal Chappell (Carly, DAYS, Gina Venice) landed at number forty! Way to go soap gals!  But it was GLEE’s, Naya Rivera who ended up at number one!

And here is a bit about how the women were chosen: It was through the voting efforts of the fans and readers for AfterEllen.com’s annual Hot 100 list! Since they first invited their readers to vote in their Hot 100 poll back in 2007, their picks and tastes have always been diverse and substantive.

Many of the picks are best known for their television and films roles, or music and recording,  As is often the case, many of the heterosexual celebrities who made the list this year are beloved for their portrayal of lesbian/bi women in film and television. Even those women who’ve taken on roles that only hinted at lesbian/bi subtext are consistently rewarded with the website’s readers votes.

So what do you think of the list? Let us know!

Congrats ladies and well deserved. Crystal and Nadia are smoking hot. But Michael, I have to say that list is all over the place. I had never heard of half the ladies on it. The list was in response to the Maxim Hot 100 back in 2007 and how the afterellen readers claimed to have such different taste. They certainly do that, Crystal and Nadia are two of the very few I actually agree with.

I was pleased to see both Nadia and Crystal on the list, though I was a bit surprised not too see the charismatic and beautiful Jessica Leccia on it again. The only thing I can think of is that her role on OLTL hasn’t given her the exposure like DOOL has for both of her co-stars. Well, she’ll always be my #1.

Clarification on Days of our Lives Rumors

Tuesday morning, daytime fans and those of NBC’s Days of our Lives woke up to an article run by TV Line that raised major concerns for them,  Contained with it was a report that revealed that the entire cast has been released from their contracts and the show is going on an indefinite hiatus.

However, Soap Opera Digest has spoken to a few key setside sources, who have clarified the situation further: “The show is currently taping eight months ahead of air, and that has resulted in the show’s pickup possibly coming after it has wrapped production for the current season.”

Another reveals that negotiations are currently underway to continue the iconic NBC soap citing: “NBC and Sony are in negotiations right now and everyone is hopeful.”

Of note from SOD: the cast has been aware of the brought-to-light break in production and hiatus for months now.  The article also shares that production is said to most likely resume in early 2020’s following the holidays.

In addition, the series is receiving much buzz right now due to the groundbreaking (for daytime soaps), time-jump, which has already generated excitement for what’s to come in on the series in the days and months ahead.  Now is a great time to see what has happened to the lives of those you love to love and love to hate in Salem.

Days of our Lives Celebrates 54th Anniversary (Photos)

Last Friday, Days of our Lives celebrated yet another amazing milestone in their storied soap history. The long-running NBC daytime drama series turned 54- years young.

To ring in the anniversary, the cast, crew and behind the scenes creatives including head writer, Ron Carlivati and NBC executive, Bruce Evans were on-hand.

DAYS executive producer Ken Corday made a speech filled with history and ‘thank you’s’, and Bruce Evans reminded everyone of how important the characters and the show is, and how it has touched so many lives from generation to generation.

From speeches, to a cake-cutting ceremony, posing for pics, to a tasty green room filled with fun food, the cast patted each other on the back for a job well-done as the show is now breaking new ground with the time-jump that kicked off Friday and plays out more this week and beyond.
