Days Of Our Lives
Daytime Emmy Lead Actress Ladies Luncheon 2022 (Photos)
The annual Daytime Emmy Lead Actress tradition continues, when last year’s winner in the category, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy), hosted the nominees for this year’s Lead Actress race.
Jacqui chose downtown Los Angeles Noam restaurant in the Ace Hotel for the locale. In attendance were: GH Lead Actress nominees, Laura Wright (Carly) and Cynthia Watros (Nina), along with Days of our Lives nominees, Marci Miller (Ex-Abigail) and Arianne Zucker (Nicole). The Young and the Restless Lead Actress nominee, Mishael Morgan (Amanda) was unable to attend.

From the looks of it the ladies dined, had some drinks, and shared some laughs and stories while congratulating each other for a job well-done as they celebrate their nominations through the next few weeks.
The 49th Annual Daytime Emmys air Friday night June 24th on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Nina
Um, no, that’s Cynthia Watros, a respected actress. Most people understand the difference between real life and what’s onscreen. You don’t have to like her character, but sheesh you can respect her work even if it’s not to your taste.
Yeah because everyone knows you never call a soap opera actor by the characters name. Get over it.
I agree with the comment of Ugh. I tried watching GH again this year and the boring portrayal of Nina was one of the reasons I couldn’t do it. I’m shocked to see that nomination.
Completely agree. She is a boring actress at best!
Thank you. But here in the world of anonymity, people are terrible.
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Carly! The mouth that ate Port Charles.
Now here is an Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh I can agree with!
I am rooting 100% for Cynthia Watros as my favorite character on daytime: Nina Reeves!!!!!!!!
it’s nice to read this… just the thought that so many “fans” ABSOLUTELY, just cannot stand any one who would come between the dullard Corinthos’ . i’ve avidly posted support… same “story” @GL .. when emmy winner Cynthia Watros… just nailed em all to the cross.. have it your way… with the likes of Robert Newman AND le grand Kim Zimmer… SHE DID IT. the writing.. hasn’t been “fair” giving (Harry) I love you. ^^^^ Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Carly! The mouth that ate Port Charles. Sonny and Carly will never be : General Hospital I am so sick of and OVER these two… throw in Michael and JOsselyn.. the acting is just not their. Maurice Benard, readily admitted, acting is hard… so the Carly show goes on… as she cheerleads.. a dying genre… yeah, she thinks she’s all that with a cesspool of 4 serial. LOL forgive that last line. I respectfully care about this genre… so the emmy awards are there… @Maurice , did not , deserve his last emmy… that was thanks to Max Gail. I keep on asking… for imagination and mind pull ??? mindset so bent… it’s painstaking and toothache … and gnaw on me to stop. this show , without Laura Wright and Maurice Benard… WOULD GO ON. the gold untapped , with the rest of the cast is mind blowing… so.. i was surprised that Cynthia Watros got a NOD… a huge nod… a huge let.. that if the “VOTES” go to Marci Miller… then so be it.. that the “panel” of voters see that @GH Cynthia and Laura offset the rest of the votes and give this EMMY TO A NEWBIE… a well respected 4 year RUN and is nominated for 3 years… HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN ?? if @GH writers who are so jaded.. that they think that only writing for the corinthos is all that means . EFFIN “F” that !!! I want the writers and Frank Valentini to know… especially Frank. an unbelievable show in so many level. I will salute Cynthia.. because i can see.. that she’s WORKING WITH WHAT SHE HAS. it’s so limited and one sided… Corinthos prevail… story after story.. and I don’t remember
sorry state
Salute …. please let it be Marci Miller. ” I acknowledge Ms. Cynthia Watros”
Patrick
You go man! No Ughhhhhhhhhs here.
Great tradition. I really hope Marci Miller takes home the prize
Richard
For what, getting killed or breaking Gwen’s pathetic mug ,oh blimey!
I do not
My vote is for Marci too…hope the blue ribbon panel feels the same way!!
My problem with Marci’s work is that it is all angry scenes all the time: mad at Gwen, mad at Chad, mad at Gwen again. I vastly preferred Kate Mansi’s Abigail and do not understand why they just didn’t rehire her!
when marci got pregnant… they readily hired back… Ms. emmy winner herself, Kate Mansi. the story went… I LOVE to the moon and back… the flight Marci Miller “went”. she wasn’t the obvious Horton VS. DiMera… stubborn child , Kate/ABS loves. like another post, Marci brought so much depth and meaning to being a women in love with a DiMera… I WILL acknowledge that Kate matured, and is still on par , “right” for the role… but it’s Marci, acting skillset and presence… is so caught, for daytime… and whatever she is hired. so she now has two kids.. PLEASE KEEP COMING BACK , MARCI… BUILD YOUR NEST EGG.. i love you .. to the moon and back. especially Billy Flynn.. hows that for a winning twosome… so sick of @GH laura Wright and maurice Benard. so sick
I truly hope ABS is not gone… TRAGIC.. what does that mean… less Jack and no Cady McClain !!! that’s idiot… be that as it may…. to kill off this character… and free @Chad… he’s had so much gold … he’s dynamic in his own right.. yet his leading ladies.. LEAD
I love this show.. and it’s thankfully because every DiMera mystique’
Salute
Richard w griffin
I read that she didn’t want the part anymore.
Me to.Watch :Lifetime that is where new and old members of Days seems to go.Matter of fact I just saw her in a movie about a week ago.Yes on Lifetime.Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
Me too, Richard.
Hands down Best Actress is Laura Wright!!!
She’s okay but I certainly don’t think she deserves best actress. Moreover, she dominates the show and inserts herself into every story line. I wish LW would take a long sabbatical so we can actually be happy to see Carly again.
Ya think?
Shrill, over-emphatic, horrible Carly? I only like her acting when she has quieter scenes – all that shrieking is beyond annoying! But the panelists often go for the scenery-chewing over-the-top performances…
Good luck to all. I’m rooting for Cynthia.
I love Laura Wright and her character Carly and i also love Marci Miller in Days and was shocked and dismayed to learn she was murdered by Leo . I thought he was going to black mail her by doing what Esme did to Josh and record her a d Chad having sex . Never thought hed murder her. So since Marci is leaving i think she should get tge award . Arianne Zucker was also excellent as Nicole . Dont watch tge other two soaps.
Who said he killed Abby?
Well, in classic “motive, means, and opportunity” theory of criminal cases, Leo looks like the logical suspect. He was hiding in the closet (no pun intended) with a knife, and Abigail & Chad were on his “revenge list”.
Obviously that’s too easy, and he didn’t really do it. But he might very well have seen who did. Because – unless there’s another secret passage to the tunnels located in that closet – Leo couldn’t have possibly made it out of that bedroom before the murder took place. And he was obviously “shaken up” by all appearances after the fact.
So in standard ReRon fashion…. I’m going to predict that Leo witnessed the actual murder…. but the killer was wearing some stupid mask (or just an ordinary ninja type mask) so if he names a suspect…. they won’t turn out to be the actual guilty party either.
Satan
You make a lot of sense. I actually thought he ducked into the bathroom, and thought it terrible that neither Abby or Chad used it after. Closet makes more sense but he actually looked scared as he was holding his bag and fingering it like he was. For a while I thought he might have put her heart in there. After Gwen made her second call for help, I am going with her as the killer. Who else but Leo would kill for her?
Jacquie all the way!!
Jacquie didn’t sumbit this year. She won last year and was hosting the event.
Jacqui didn’t submit and is not up for the lead actress this year, but she hosted the luncheon since she won last year.
Very nice. Marci’s daughter is so cute. I’m sorry Marci is leaving Days.
She is just adorable. To bad she is leaving Days.Never thought she would ever get murdered though
I read that Marci is not available full-time. Days didn’t want to recast. They didn’t want to break up Chad and Abby. This way, eventually Chad can hook up with someone else.
I am rooting with all my heart for Cynthia Watros! (: To be honest, this is a category where I am only truly happy with two of the nominees: her and Ari Zucker. I will be sad if any of the other three win but I understand that the panelists only really see the reels and not the whole year’s worth of work. It’s just my opinion, so nobody needs to get upset about it. I just truly felt they are the two who did consistently great work and the other nominees ought to have been Kirsten Storms, Sharon Case and Alison Sweeney – but IDK if they submitted for consideration…
Hands down Laura Wright!!!!! She is awesome!!!!
Marci Miller may take the award to close out her time at Days, but I prefer Cynthia Watros take her second Actress award for GH. The fact that so many hate her character is a complete testament to her excellence. And her stint at GL as Annie will not be forgotten.
It is so interesting because I absolutely love and adore Nina! My sympathies are with her! Yes, she has done some really terrible things but hers haven’t been because she is just a terrible person. That coma and what came before it shaped her perception and she is still (as Cynthia plays her) a strong and remarkable and LIKEABLE female character! I love her friendships and I think Cynthia is AMAZING in this role!!!!
I’m totally with you, Richard. These nasty posts that claim Nina never takes responsibility for her actions are confusing her with Carly. Nina has apologized ad nauseam and tried to make amends. Carly never apologizes and continues to rationalize her despicable behavior to whoever will accept her lies. She yells at Brad for concealing Wiley’s parentage while she does the same with Willow. At least Nina tries; yes she has bad judgment but is not vindictive like Carly. I’m rooting for Cynthia on Emmy night.
Totally agree!
You shouldn’t win a nomination for destroying a TV show. Guiding Light didn’t air in Hell, so I’ll take your word for it that she did good work there.
But the Parasite Nina is killing General Hospital. And nobody should get an award for that. It might be more Frank Valentini’s fault than it is Cynthia’s but she still shouldn’t get an Emmy for that.
Wow, we disagree a million percent! It’s Carly and Sonny that have harmed GH – and despite it the show is still the best of the remaining four shows. Nina is my very favorite character on all of daytime!!!!!
Cynthia is the only thing that makes GH watchable. Carly is zzzzzzz along with Mikey and Willow. Hey Satan, this award is about good acting not personality
cib
How could anyone forget Annie Dutton? No one that’s ever seen her in action, thats for sure.
I stop watching GH in count of poor, pathetic, never takes responsibility for her actions Nina. I can’t stand the sight of her!!! GH writers should have let Peter August kill her off. The Nixon Falls storyline went on months too long! As did the Peter August storyline went on years too long. I don’t miss watching GH, even though I watch it most of my life.
Heiny already killed Frodd, so they couldn’t let him have all the fun.
This annual event is probably a lot more fun than the actual awards show. My vote is for Cynthia Watros since Sharon Case and Maura West aren’t nominated. By the way, did Ms. Zucker forget to get dressed? Her “outfit” is inappropriate for the occasion and reeks of attention getting.
Soaphound
Good thing you can’t hear me laughing my head off over your Ms. Zucker description. I noticed too and also how she toward over the others. Another thing that made me laugh was my not recognizing Marci Miller. I really thought she was someone’s nanny holding their kid.
I have been watching GH for over 25 years. I have to say, after all the years you get bored of Carly and Sonny, I agree that should shake things up every now and again but not quite sure I like the way it was done with Nina. Never the less, Cynthia has my vote because we aren’t supposed to like her character lying and scheming. Cynthia played the part and made people do dislike her, that was her job. So she did it well has my vote. Although I would have liked to see Maura West nominated, I think she had a hell of a year playing ava remarkably. Hope to see her next time in the running
My vote is Carly I love her Laura ❤️
I’m all in for Cynthia!
At times I hate her, at times I love her. That’s’ proof that she’s a good actor! She really deserves the Emmy this year! She’s kinda carried the show! She’s the one who gave Carly any good scenes she’s had!
And besides, Cynthia is the classiest gal in the picture above!!

Now, five leading ladies of the soaps are vying for the gold for Lead Actress and the category marked the first-ever nominations for CBS daytime’s Beyond the Gates when two actresses made the final cut. Only General Hospital is not represented among the actresses this year after Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) took home the trophy last year.
