Well, you really can’t do a reboot of All My Children without Dr. Angie Hubbard now can you?  With that said, there is more great news for soap fans this afternoon. Daytime Emmy winner, Debbi Morgan has announced via her Twitter page that she has signed on for the All My Children reboot!

As has been reported, Debbi joins previously announced commitments from Vincent Irizarry and Lindsay Hartley to be a part of Prospect Park’s online venture in resurrecting the beloved town of Pine Valley!  What’s even more delightful about the news is that today mark’s the anniversary of All My Children, which first aired on ABC, January 5th, 1970!

Morgan tweeted the news of her joining the cast of the reboot stating,  “OK, I can finally announce how thrilled I am 2 B on board w/the “All My Children” re-boot & Prospect Park! Agnes Nixon, you’re my HERO!!!”

So soapers, are you excited that Debbi has signed on for AMC online?  Let us know!

Finally, some good news about the cast!!!! Now they need to sign Darnell Williams away from Y&R.

I’ve been dubious but Debbi Morgan… that’s some serious soap cred there. She’s as close to dependable soap royalty as it gets. Staying cautiously optimistic …..

Agreed.

HUGE get! And a much wiser choice for her than when she chose YR over AMC (though I can’t blame her for it….and it gave her a year’s paycheck she wouldn’t have had otherwise, but ultimately it was not a good fit for her).

I made the decision today that if this all goes through, and it will be provided in Canada, I will pay for AMC and OLTL in support of the shows. I never thought of actually going through with it before, but decided that if it does, I want to be a part of it.

Love debbie morgan!!! Shaping up quite nicely. Bring it home PP!!!

Yes! She was on my wish list of actors to be asked to join the reboot.

I now have no doubts that AMC and OLTL will live again !!
I am loving it !1
Excited to see the first episode!!

When is the first episode? I am so excited!

I’m not a follower of All My Children, but that is great news!

SO glad to have Angie on board . I have noticed that those signed are all playing doctors … guess the hospital will be prominent.

This is great. It does sound positive. But it will seem really strange, odd, almost un AMC if they cannot get Susan Lucci. Hopefully something can be arranged with Deadly Affairs and Devious Maids that will allow Lucci to do all. If there is a conflict at the beginning and because AMC may want to start while Lucci is filming Devious Maids they could always kill off Ërica Kane and Jesse who is on Y and R. Have a very sad funeral and bring her back later when she is free claiming there was a huge cover up of a prison break out and it was really Jane Campbell who was seeking revenge Erica was free while she was in jail. Erica then can come back from the dead like AMC. But it would be even greater if they could just film a close up of Jack and Erica and Erica dying (Jane) in Jack’s arms just for ratings. 🙂

Debbi–Agnes Nixon is MY hero, too. I can’t believe she’s made this happen.

It just amazes me how delusional some hardcore AMC/OLTL fans are about this, especially after the first go-round. There is zero concrete proof that this is 100% going to get off the ground and unless/until it does, I remain highly skeptical. PP has zero credibility with this. How about actually hearing some direct quotes from a PP executive for once?

Prospect Park execs are likely not saying much until there’s more to go on. But judging by Agnes’ words, I do believe it’s launching off the ground. More cast signing on is likely another factor into that it’s happening.

The first time there were no EPs/HWs/actors signing on. Now there are.

Chris keep your negativity to yourself. Your energy is not welcome nor your opinion!

Chris, I can appreciate your skepticism, but I don’t think it’s necessary to label people “delusional” because they’re perhaps taking a more optimistic view than may be ultimately justified.

This could still all collapse, it’s true–but on the other hand, it has gotten much further than it did when the idea was first floated, and if Agnes Nixon has come out and announced that it’s happening, she must feel the chances are pretty good.

I think the bigger question probably is whether they’ll return in a form that will satisfy viewers. I think AMC is in a better position for that than OLTL, simply because Carlivati and Valentini aren’t involved in the resuscitation of the latter. But I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I do take your point that we haven’t heard what we need to hear from Prospect Park yet.

I can’t help but think back to my first major cancellation … and that was ATWT… I wanted to go to the Snyder Farm … and see Emma…. and Just Holden! that family, from Seth to Iva, Ellie,Caleb, Holden, Meg… I’m sure, Emma’s missing a few… she rolled in the hay… some…

anyway… that’s my optimism…. for AMC.

when is the first show and how do we find it on the web. So happy its back yeaaa!!!

This is fantastic news. Maria Arena did not excute her plans with Debbi as Harmony well. There was huge potential with the character and Debbi’s acting talents, but she mis-used them and there was no fixing them.

I cannot wait to see Dr. Angie Hubbard go back into rotation with her eyesight and beautiful baby girl!

could you see her involved with Dr. David Hayward? Debbi and Vincent killed it…knocked it out of the park…. she brought a humanity to evil Dr. Hayward that sizzled. when she was blind… he could have toyed with her… yet he told her he respected her.

I loved how these two were in the last month(s) of AMC on ABC….

No. I could not nor would not want to see a relationship between Angie Hubbard and David Hayward. That’s so wrong.

Good news!

What about OLTL ! What actors & actresses of OLTL? Have any signed up with PP yet?
That’s what I would like to know.

It’s happening, it’s really going to happen this time!! Oh happy news and day indeed!!

I am totally thrilled about Debbi Morgan coming back to AMC, and of course, I am beyond words to describe how I feel that AMC is being resurrected!!!! Way to go!!!

What a great decision.

Mark Consuelos Celebrates One-Year Anniversary as Co-Host of ‘Live’ Alongside Kelly Ripa

Today, April 17th marks a full-year since Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo, All My Children) took over the co-hosting duties of ‘Live” alongside his wife, and longtime co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, All My Children).

Consuelos replaced Ryan Seacrest who are six seasons decided to be back on the west coast full-time. For Consuelos, now having the opportunity to work off of Ripa as co-hosts has been something of adjustment for him, but viewers have been eating it up.

Live with Kelly and Mark has remained the No. 1 entertainment talk show on television over the past year, growing 3% in average total viewers to 2.23M per episode.  It is also the most-watched daytime talk show in the last year in key demos of women 18-49 and women 25-54. All of this, since the real-life marrieds teamed-up.

Speaking with Deadline, Kelly Ripa shared why the two are gelling on-screen, “I do think that there is something very possibly relatable about our relationship. We have disagreements like a normal couple, and we’re not afraid to let them unfold on the air and in front of America, and I think people find a lot of themselves in that.”

Mark weighed in how he has progressed as a host, and what he could improve at, sharing, “I’d like to get better at my interviewing skills. I’d like to get better at reading a teleprompter…I think I’m getting better at throwing to commercial. The other day in the middle of the show as we go to commercial, my sign off was ‘See you guys around.’ I mean, the show wasn’t over. The most obvious thing to say would be, ‘We’ll be back right after this.’ But I just said, ‘See you around.’ So we went to commercial and one of the producers (goes) ‘What was that?’ I don’t know… So for the next few sign offs, as a joke, I’d say ‘See you around.’ We got a kick out of it.”

Meanwhile, Kelly has given huge props to Mark, “I find Mark utterly compelling, really interesting, super funny, and he’s bold in a way like nobody else. He says what’s on his mind. If he’s thinking it, he says it.  I’ve done this a long time and oftentimes people will adjust their natural personalities to pander to what they think the audience wants to hear, and Mark will tell people what he thinks, and he doesn’t care if it’s not a popular opinion. It gives him an edginess that I think is really missing in the landscape today. Everybody’s so afraid to say anything, and Mark is unafraid to say exactly what he’s thinking.”

In a statement, Debra O’Connell, President News Group and Networks, Disney Entertainment shared, We could not be more thrilled with how Mark has seamlessly joined the show family as permanent co-host. His undeniable charisma and his and Kelly’s natural chemistry are evident as they deliver the laughs and smiles to our viewers each morning. We are incredibly proud of how Live has continued to evolve and that the audience is responding so enthusiastically.”

So, do you think Mark Consuelos is the best co-host his wife Kelly Ripa has ever had on ‘Live’? How would you say he is doing as co-host after one full year on the job? Comment below.
