A longtime fan favorite is returning to GH to help them celebrate their 56th year on the air.  According to EW.com, look for Denise Alexander (Lesley Webber) to be back in action and in scenes with her on-screen daughter, Laura (Genie Francis).   Alexander returns on-air on Tuesday, April 2nd.

In story, Leslie returns to Port Charles to honor the late Dr. Gail Adams Baldwin (the late Susan Brown) when Gail’s final wish was to have all her friends gathered together.  Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who is Gail’s lawyer sets up the event.

In a sneak peek video, Lesley and Laura realize how Gail’s passing has brought up memories from their past at that time they were both working at General Hospital.  Gail was also a doctor.

Laura says to her mother: “I remember when I was a candy striper. And I was so proud that my mother was a doctor in the hospital. I was really fortunate to have a role model like you.”

Alexander first played the role of Lesley in 1973.  Her initial run on GH was from 1973 to 1984 ,and again from 1996 to 2009. Denise then made guest appearances on the ABC daytime drama series in 2013 and 2017.

So, what do you think of Denise Alexander returning for a memorable occasion on GH? Comment below!

She’s still connected to GH 46 years after she started. Amazing!

I would like to see her on the show more often, and has scenes with Monica

that is so awesome love her

SHOOT ! I – get it – have been IMPRESSED with Genie Francis… PLUS whatever the hair and makeup w/dress. has been doing – KEEP IT UP. this “beloved” character is that strong a hold, for; Shelly AND Chris… that to not just bring Denise Alexander for the 55th Anniversary… but to build and solidify around Laura.. will only strengthen her. PLUS she’s just one of the LATE GREATS . Recurring role .. if she’s up to.. is tantamount to , at the very least bringing us a core veteran family.

Lesley / Laura / Kevin / Spencer ….

could Nicholas Cassadine be far behind

“exclamation”

this answers for YOU !!!! Shelly AND Chris… your lack of a full canvas … for that full one hour… is empty. PLEASE consider this… they are full characters . answers 1/2 your PROBLEM at year after year attempts at continually “boring” us with Sonny and Carly… they are the dullard

@GH has so much going for it.

ONE PROP – YOU WERE SMART to bring on Dante… after the culmination AND superpowerhouse Jon Lindstrom. two enigmatic characters rich and full of history in the capable hands of two of your best solid acts. This is truly a test to see just how far you two (shelly AND Chris ) can focus and bring good story. it’s just so gnawing , because ALL of the actors responsible for bringing the Shiloh story IS BUST. spiral this junk.. and lets see Sam bring Kristina to heaven. dag already

Dominic Zamprogna, welcome back.. it’s a treat to see you outside of your former shell. up to this point.. just watching your acting skillset come alive. Thank You
it’s meh all around that the corinthos clan is stink on shit.. otherwise you are BACK !

Always impressed with Genie–and I agree re hair and makeup and dress. Love Genie’s longer hair (reminds me of her in earlier years) and her natural makeup.
So good–she has that glow! Go, Genie! I would love to she her also dressed down in a pair of jeans and a casual shirt. Delicious!

So excited! Love that Lesley will be back. And Laura as a candy striper! She’s come a loooong way since then.

Glad to have her back (albeit for one episode). Wished Laura mentioned her a bit more.

Love that they are bringing back Denise Alexander. She has always been my favorite. Wish they would keep her around and find Lesley and Monica a man to fight over.

She’s always welcome. I was just speaking of her the other day, when she (and I) was very young. Speaking of men, I wonder if she’ll have her good looking Italian gentleman with her. I may be old, but not dead yet!

Got you, Violet!

its always great to see icons like Denise Alexander Come back and visit. I can’t wait.

So happy she was always my favorite!

Awesome!!

Akways loved Lesley!!!

Who

Who kills Shiloh will be GHs new murder mystery too…

Can’t wait. By the time this is over, it could be anyone’s guess. Maybe it depends on who he’s done the most harm to. We know Krissi will be devastated when she sees him for what he really is.

It will be Willow who kills him. After she finds out that the baby she had with Cult Boy (more than likely the product of a rape) and gave up for adoption is actually dead, she will have a complete meltdown, and as a result, will not go to prison for killing Hank or Shiloh or Jim Jones or whatever the Hell his name is.

Then she and Mikey can raise his kid together sappily ever after….

Willow is also Nina’s daughter

That seems likely…. since her hatred of Nina is practically a carbon copy of the hate Sam had for Alexis before she knew she was her mom. Or Billie & Kate on Days of Our Lives, for that matter.

Another one of those well worn soap cliches that you can usually see coming from 666 miles away.

Wonderful! Can’t wait to see her and Genie together again. They’ll bring some much-needed warmth to what has become a very harsh GH.

What’s the airdate(s)?

Lesley needs to be brought back to GH full time. Laura needs her Mom.

It will be lovely to see her again.

THANK YOU, GH GODS! There is a place for the veterans. Make it work, people!

Yes–please!

Yes. Give her a contract. She is daytime royalty and an amazing actress! GH needs more longtime veterans around PC!

This is a momentous occasion in daytime TV, as true soap royalty makes a return to a soap! It was newsworthy back in 1973, when Denise Alexander joined GH after a stint as a popular character on DOOL. Her GH tenure and subsequent returns have been exquisite gifts for the viewer. This is one episode I won’t miss!

General Hospital is making a big mistake by not having these Legends are still in good health like Chris Robinson and Leslie Charleston Denise Alexander carat diamond people would love to see these people back on the show and wouldn’t have more viewers and it has now but they just can’t seem to figure that out

Rosie O’Donnell Says She Will Return to ‘The View’ During its Season 30

Published

By

Rosie O'Donnell

Rosie O’Donnell revealed that she plans to head back to a seat at the table of ABC’s morning talk show The View.

The announcement came during Monday’s episode of The Tangle Podcast where she shared she will participate in “in whatever way they want” her or “just as a guest” for its upcoming 30th season.

The View’s season 30 will kick-off this fall in September. O’Donnell explained, “They’re bringing back all the hosts, I think. And, you know, I’m pretty proud of that show, what it’s become and how it really speaks to the people and to politics.”

ROSIE ON HER PREVIOUS GO-ROUNDS ON THE VIEW

As fans of The View know, O’Donnell famously had two different one-year stints on the talk show in 2007 and again in 2014- 2015. She often feuded with then co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

However, during her discussion with host, Kyle Ridley on The Tangle Podcast, O’Donnell also noted she often had tense moments with longtime moderator and anchor, Whoopi Goldberg.

O’Donnell also expressed, “Many, many people got the short end of the stick there. It was, you know, it was a factory where people were being churned in and out and their tenuous security, nobody got to be calm. It also was a show at the time that was run by a man. A show created by a woman, for women, about women, and the man was deciding what we should talk about. And that didn’t sit right with me, you know.”

Back in 2023, Brooke Shields had asked Rosie on her podcast, Now What? with Brooke Shields, about how she felt on her two stints at The View and all the controversy that surrounded it. Rosie at that time, stated, “I know this, it’s not the best use of my talent to get in a show where I have to argue and defend basic principles of humanity and kindness. It was not something I’d ever do again.”

You can check out the clip with Rosie and Kyle Ridley discussing her return to The View in some form for its upcoming 30th season below.

Then weigh-in: Would you be excited to see Rosie, even for a one-day or a week guest stint on the upcoming celebratory season of The View, or not so much? Let us know via the comment section.

Television Academy and NATAS Open Reunification Talks After Split Almost 50 Years Ago

Published

Emmys

In what could prove to be a massive shake-up ahead, both the TV Academy (ATAS), who presides over the Primetime Emmys, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), who preside over the Daytime Emmys, are in exploratory reunification discussions to merge the two organizations into one.

Both sides received an overwhelming vote and support from their boards to evaluate what a unified Academy could look like. However there is no formal calendar at this juncture for the discussions. In addition, because of the ongoing unification talks that should occur, the TV Academy board has voted to extend all current sitting Governors’ terms by one year so they can see the process through.

Boards at both organizations voted overwhelmingly to evaluate what a unified Academy could make possible: a strong vision for the Academy’s future, more effective thought leadership for the industry, broader service and support for members coast-to-coast, and new momentum and opportunities across the full complement of national Emmy competitions.

Photos: ATAS/NATAS

AFTER NEARLY 50 YEARS, CAN THE EMMYS BE UNDER ONE BANNER?

In a joint statement, ATAS and NATAS shared, “Television remains the most powerful medium we have to shape culture and prompt conversations that define us—no matter the size of the screen, With the business of television undergoing such a monumental transformation, this is the right moment to explore a reunification of our Academies, providing our members and our industry with a bolder voice advocating for them and a stronger partner to navigate the future with them.”

If the reunification talks continue, this would be the first time since the two Emmy organizations split back on June 30, 1977 that they have tried to come together, all of this after almost three decades of often uneasy and strained tension between the two.

The most recent joint change came in 2022 when a move of the game show categories went from NATAS to ATAS’ and now are in the Primetime Emmys.

Deadline notes that a unification of the two television academies who overall preside over nighttime and daytime programming would be similar how SAG and AFTRA used to represent performers from completely different dayparts of work.

Could the Daytime Emmys finally see some love in primetime and have their major categories televised as part of the annual kudofest every September? Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will take place live on Monday, September 14th starting at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT and air on NBC and stream on Peacock emanating from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. While, the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on Friday, October 30, time to be announced, live from the Hollywood Palladium and will be streamed on watchtheemmys.tv

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) is a service organization dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry. It recognizes excellence in television with the coveted Emmy Awards for News & Documentary, Sports, Daytime and Children’s & Family programming, as well as achievements in television Technology & Engineering.

The Television Academy (ATAS) strives to shape and advance the dynamic television landscape; cultivate a diverse, inclusive and accessible professional community; and advocate for the television industry while capturing the spirit of a new generation of content creators and industry professionals. Through innovative programs, publications and events, the Academy and its Foundation foster and empower storytellers. The Academy also celebrates those who excel in the industry recognizing their achievements through awards and accolades, including the renowned Emmy Award. Membership in the Academy is open to working professionals in the television industry.

So, would you like to see the Primetime Emmy and the Daytime Emmys fold into one show if the two unions reached a unification arrangement? Do you hope that after almost 50 years, the two organizations can finally make some serious headway? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
