Today, Kassie DePaiva’s Blair Cramer landed in Port Charles as more of the One Life to Live crossovers begin on General Hospital!  ET Online caught up with DePaiva, and her on-screen daughter Kristen Alderson (Starr) and their new co-star Daytime Emmy winner, Maurice Benard (Sonny) to get their thoughts on attempting to reinvigorate the soap with the mix of beloved characters from both shows.

Kassie stressed in the video interview that the Manning’s relocation is “a gift to the fans of One Life to Live.”  She added, “Not each fan watches both shows, so this way we can bring some of our OLTL fans over to GH. I just hope that the network does not turn its back on daytime. ABC has always been such a great brand,” wept a heartbroken Kassie.  Maurice Benard threatened, “I dare anybody to cancel this show.”

Kristen’s talked about her heart-wrenching debut earlier this week. “The first episode I lose my boyfriend, Cole and my daughter.  They go over a cliff.  That was my first day at GH.  Our executive producer, he came up to me and he said, ‘Hey Kristen, there’s going to be a lot of crying, a lot of drama, and a lot of scenes for you to be doing all that.’ I said, ‘That’s what I signed up for.'”  Starr will likely be taking time to mourn the loss before walking down the aisle in an epic soap opera wedding with a new love interest. But, Kristen has already found a potential McDreamy on this hospital set, blushing that Chad Duell, “has been extremely awesome to work with.”

Below watch the trio discuss the state of the soaps, their characters and working with each other in PC or click here to view the clip at ETOnline!

Finally saw the interview with Kassie and Kristen trully awesome. They seem to be having a great time but I still wish OLTL could come back. I agree with Maurice Benard all soaps should mix in together here and there, it is more interesting to see people from different soaps interacting with one another.

Very nice interview so happy to see them back on my daytime shows. OLTL is so missed by all but i will take what i can get until we get it back on the air.

Kassie stressed in the video interview that the Manning’s relocation is “a gift to the fans of One Life to Live.” Kassie deserves the Emmy for this performance.

Maurice Benard threatened, “I dare anybody to cancel this show.” Was Maurice in character or does he think he is Sonny? No wonder he is nominated year after year.

Did you also see how Kristen jumped and smoothed it over? Can you imagine how Kassie feels? Her emotions must be all the place. Show cancelled then her role was given another chance, but for how long?

From Maurice/Sony’s lips to God’s ears!

Damn David, I’m just seeing this comment U wrote. LOL I read Michaels post, and then when I watched etonline., I went fast to comment, and afterward read everyone else’s which lead to your’s. Your’s is almost like mine below, LOL Yes, that Maurice is something else.

nice interview… not as good as Michael would do!!!

I love the idea that we get to have a little piece of landview in port charles.I have watched all the abc soaps for close to 49 years so as a long time viewer of all the soaps this is a great move, new families move to the soaps all the time if the mannings are that strong ,they will stay.I love starr todd and blair and I cant wait to see john mcbain, over the years all my children, one life to live and general hospital ,had crossovers ,and it was always with interesting stories,a baby went from all my children to one life to live back to all my children, dont get confused we are soap watches so we can deal with all the twists and turns.so this general hospital fan is very happy my family from one life to live continues to have another story.and hopefully more stories to come . starr ,blair ,todd, and john mcbain ,welcome to port charles .

We are on the same wavelength! Actually, I am excited about GH. For so long, the storylines dragged on, and many plots were repetitive. The OLTL stars will spark new energies, and with all the fan favs returning, THINGS can only go up, especially the ratings.

general hospital, has put me to sleep so many times,I could walk away from the tv ,dont come back for a while and it was always the same stories ,it was sonny, jason, and carly and all the other characters were only on if those 3 were involved ,the other stories with steve and maggie ,snooze fest, same with cassandra, what a bore.these past 2 weeks have been so nice ,alot of drama ,theres no way Im leaving the room and Im definitely not falling asleep.I knew the ratings would go up hopefully they will go up even higher.dont get me wrong I dont want sonny, jason and carly to drop off the face of the soap world ,the mob stories have to be shortened and the rest of the families in port charles need attention ,and there is plenty of room for my favorite first family the mannings and john mcbain .bring a few more people over ,vicki ,clint, bo nora, tia ,victor roxy for all the newbes that were kicked out the door there is room for a few more landview people,it wont hurt it will only get better, the more fans that follow one life to live to general hospital the better for the only surviving soap on abc/disney.

barbara T = I love you! you go girl! 🙂

Last night I switched off my vcr for a taping investment of Gh I was planning to do.
I have to say this, I was ALL excited but NO COLE, NO GO.

I understand when Jenny was blown up on AMC, I stopped watching for several weeks. When my favorite stars were killed off on OLTL, I stopped watching again. But please reconsider, this is the second Cole, and as you know, if no body is recovered and you don’t see the body, then he and Faith are alive. And we need everyone to watch to keep the ONLY remaining ABC soap on the air. Down the road (2 years) when Star is happy with Michael or whomever, Cole will return, and I hope the EP brings back your favorite Cole.

Both actors that have played Cole aren’t available, so you can’t blame GH for that. What else are they supposed to do?

Do you really think that Hope & Cole are laying at the bottom of the cliff in perfect shape? I think they were killed off-screen to save money. The new Cole actor had other commitments, and I’m sure the gal who played Hope is NY based… they’ll have to both be recast… again.

Maurice Benard threatened, “I dare anybody to cancel this show.”

Sonny has threantened so many people on GH over the year’s that it has caught a fire with Maurice Benard, LOL. He’s going to get the mob after them if they cancel his show….. lol

( I just had to post that for all of you who don’t like all the mob (ness) over of the year’s, I thought U’d get a kick out of it ) .

Cause I love me some Mauric (Sonny) Benard, validity to everyone’s accusations about mob stories OR not….

I have to say that I actually liked Chad Duell’s acting better when he was in scenes with Star. I hadn’t much liked him before, so I kinda wondered if Michael & Star would hook up down the road… poor Todd would have another son-in-law relations kinda like he had with Marty… they weren’t exactly best buddies and then to have their offspring hook up, it was just uncomfortable.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, the race is on! Can Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) get to Rocco (Finn Carr) and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) in time to ensure their safety from Cullum (Andrew Hawkes)? Does Rocco know his parents are on the way to find them, or has Cullum already tracked them down to the British Virgin Islands?

Back in Port Charles, Carly is informing Lucas that his niece, “is a WSB agent.” She knows Josslyn (Eden McCoy) is being held against her will at Wyndemere, and she has to find a way to get her out. Lucas agrees with Carly’s plan of, “We go in and we don’t leave without Josslyn!” Elsewhere, Josslyn is looking worried for her future as she is stuck in captivity thanks to Cassius, Cullum and Sidwell!

Maurice Benard Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’ Writers; Teases Upcoming Sonny Scenes with Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric

Published

With the highly-anticipated returns of Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on this week’s June 24 episode of General Hospital, Steve Burton’s (Jason Morgan) upcoming return on July 13, which also serves as the ABC daytime drama’s 16,000 episode, things are about to fire on all cylinders in the story, as noted today by series star, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).

On Father’s Day, the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor and mental health activist took to his Instagram and expressed in a video that he has some unbelievable upcoming senes with the aforementioned Burton and Hughes. Add to that Nazneen Contractor (Justine Turner) and Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing), where Benard gave credit where credit is due to the GH writing team, which is led by co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten..

In this video, Benard said, “I just want to get on here and say that I did some work with Steve Burton, Finola Hughes, Rick Hearst, Nazneen Contractor, and they’re all just fantastic. Truly fantastic. But, I want to say the writing was just exceptional. It truly was. It was exceptional. So, thankful for that kind of writing. I know writers don’t get the credit a lot, but I just want to say to the General Hospital writing team, keep rolling!”

GENERAL HOSPITAL PREVIEW

So now the question becomes, with a major tease like that, what is about to go down between Sonny, Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric? Will we finally get to the end of the line for Sidwell (Carlo Rota), as previously teased by the GH co-head writers? Will we learn what happened to Jason and Anna, fully? Will Justine and Sonny becomes closer or stop their liaisons? And what of Ric? Will he be true blue to his brother or double-cross him? There is a lot at stake as we move further into the summer and one that looks like it could be one of the more exciting ones in years!

FINOLA HUGHES CONFIRMED AMAZING SCENES WITH MAURICE BENARD

As a punctuation point to his video, Benard also shared this written message in the post: “I just did some wonderful scenes with Steve Burton, Rick Hearst, Finola Hughes and Nazneen Contractor and  and unbelievable writing, freaking amazing scenes that you will see in the near future on General Hospital.” In fact, Finola Hughes jumped in the post comment thread and responded, “I loved our scenes so much xxx”

Fans will most likely see all the scenes Benard referred to later in July, since GH tapes approximately six weeks ahead of air.

So, are you excited to see what Maurice is talking about? Are you hyped for what’s to come on GH? Any clue on what you think will go down between the main characters on the soap with the returns of Anna Devane and Jason Morgan to the mix? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

In a surprise move, Daytime Emmy winner, Chad Duell (ex-Michael Corinthos, GH) is getting ready to unveil a new chapter of his career in music.

The former GH star, where he played the son of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) for 15 years, has announced his new single, “If You Need Me” will drop on Friday, June 26. The single is now available for pre-order on Spotify and major music streaming platforms and is distributed by DistroKid.

Taking to his Instagram story over the weekend, to announce the pre-save of his new single, Chad expressed, “I’ll make a full post about what I’ve been up to and my music once it goes live next week, but you can pre-save my first single so it goes straight to your Spotify once it drops next week.”

SINCE LEAVING GENERAL HOSPITAL

Previously, since his departure from the ABC soap opera. Chad starred alongside Zach Mendez in the world premiere of of Yum Yum at Annapolis, a new play written by Bruce Reisman. Duell last appeared on General Hospital on the January 21, 2025 episode.

The part was recast with Rory Gibson who debuted as the new Michael in May of 2025 during the Nurses’ Ball episodes and who has remained in the role since that time.

In an interview earlier this year on The Able Show, Duell said on his decision to exit the soap opera, “I was blessed to be part of that (show) for as long as I have, but what happens sometimes is if you’re doing the same thing, especially in a creative field for such a long time, you can get a little burnt out in a way. It can make you a little depressed, so that’s kind of what happened. On top of that, I had other things going on in my life at the time. My father passed away recently and I just needed a reset. So, I stepped away. A lot of times you have to go through some stuff to really step into that next level. I needed to kind of feel uncomfortable.”

So, what type of musical genre will Chad’s new song be? Country? Pop? Rock? Dance/Club? Something else? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section below, and if you are eager to hear the new single next week via the comment section below.
