Dominic Zamprogna On His Return To General Hospital: “So Great To Be Back With My Family!!”
The big surprise on Monday’s General Hospital in its first episode back amid the coronavirus pandemic, featured in it none other than Dominic Zamprogna and his return to the show as Dante Falconeri.
In it, viewers see Dante still struggling from his PTSD while at a WSB facility in Geneva, Switzerland at the top of the episode.
We later see Dante writing a letter to his mother, Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), that he just saves and tucks at the end of his bed, never meaning he as he says to send it, in order to keep his family and loved ones safe from him.
Zamprogna was last seen on GH back in March of 2019. Dominic originated the role of Dante back in 2009 and had stayed with the series for 9 years before deciding to previously exit the show. Over the last several months, Dominic has been public about wanting the opportunity to work with his GH co-stars again and how he missed them,
After today’s episode of GH aired, the series Twitter account, tweeted: “Welcome Home” to which the actor expressed: “Thank you!! So great to be back with my family!!”
This sets the stage for Dante to get well, head back to Port Charles, only to find the love of his life Lulu (Emme Rylan), involved with another man, Dustin (Mark Lawson), or who knows what else may be on the horizon.

IT’S ABOUT TIME!!!
I’m so glad that GH is back and they were great. First episode match the last episode seamlessly and unlike the BB their wasn’t any awkward bulging eye scenes and Ned and Olivia kissed and neither acted like the other had the cooties. But as far as Dante being the great surprise can’t miss first scene sorry to Burst your bubble Frank V, but that was easy to guess, I would of been more surprise if Taggert pupped up alive, that would of been more surprising but With Olivia crying a river in last Fridays episode it was clearly obvious that Dante was coming back. Still I can’t wait to see everyone else who didn’t appear in todays episode oh and by the way GH has had plenty of time to insert Nelle into the Photo opening scenes. I know they now include contract, and recurring actors so if she’s not a contract player she’s definitely pass being a guest star she’s been appearing for months and her picture has yet to pop up. Just saying.
These episodes were filmed before the pandemic obviously. You can’t have people kissing, sitting in a courtroom, and standing next to each other anymore. The new episodes won’t air for two weeks. The only new part was the Dante stuff which was obviously inserted, and he was ALONE. P.S. would HAVE, not would OF. There is no such term as would of, should of or could of.

As I said in the other thread, these scenes looked to me like they were late additions to the episode, as they obviously weren’t a direct continuation from the storylines we last saw in May before the Cheetoplague hiatus. Reminiscent of the 5 second scene of Duke Lavery in the clinic in Switzerland, only not to be seen again until several months later.
So we know that Dante is “back”, but don’t be surprised if we don’t see him again for a few weeks until the storylines already written 6 months ago have played out on screen. Unless one of those storylines involved the inevitable death of Mike “Corbin” Corinthos Sr, for which Dante might have already been written in for a short visit. At least I would hope he shows up when his grandfather dies. Would be nice if he got a chance to say goodbye, but they would probably have to turn around his PTSD pretty quick for that to happen.
If they can insert new scenes into the scripts that have been around for months, perhaps they could show that process playing out while he’s in the “secret WSB facility”.
Valentini said in an interview that the audience will be blown away in the first few seconds when GH returns. Why do I continue to fall for this spin masters high jinks! I should be blown away by the return of Dante? Come on! First, fans knew he was coming back, secondly, him and Lulu are a horrible couple! Blown away would have been Duke alive or the return of Frisco Jones!

Dante for upwards of his first 4 years w/Julie Berman ignited a firestorm that left me breathless. dang it… Julie Berman in her 8 plus years WON three emme.

Dante NEEDS alternative: he certainly shows different sides to him… @GH Writers NEED to commit to him. I really liked that film noir eppi when it was Dante who played the mob king pin. by his having this ??? PTSD… if done correctly .. will flesh out his OWN characterizations. The GH writers NEED to commit AND give him material worthy

Patrick, well said! Maybe it’s Lulu-hoop that puts me off of Dante, because I used to like him with Julie B .and I loved his little enactment of the gangsta when mom and dad came to visit. I also hope he gets home in time to see his grandpa one last time. He and Mike were always good together.
A Devil must admit I preferred the original Lulu Spencer myself. She actually seemed like the actual offspring of Luke & Laura, and definitely was a better pairing with Dante. Emme tries her best, but I’d easily trade a half dozen souls of the damned to have the “real” Lulu back.
Mixed feeling for his return..The early years Dante’s storylines were good and he played them very well but a few years before his departure, his character became boring due to lack of storylines for him and his acting suffer because of it…I hope they give something good to show his true talents.
Yuk. Another Corinthos ass-kisser. I think if someone voluntarily leaves a soap to “stretch their acting wings” they should stay gone!! That goes for the likes of Steve Burton, too.

2026 Daytime Emmy Awards: ‘Extra’ Partners with NATAS for Pre-Ceremony Red Carpet Stream; Week of Segments Leading to Ceremony and Post-Coverage
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced on Thursday that the syndicated entertainment news series, Extra will be its partner for exclusive coverage of the 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards being held on Friday, October 30 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
The 2026 Daytime Emmys as previously reported can be seen streamed via the The Emmys,YouTube channel, via watch.theemmys.tv, as well as on the official Emmys app, available for phones, tablets, and smart TVs.
Here’s a breakdown of the pre, during and post Daytime Emmys coverage via Extra below!
Beginning Monday, October 26, Extra will feature five nights of dedicated Daytime Emmys segments leading up to the ceremony, giving fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the award show.
In addition, Mona Kosar Abdi, Weekend Host & Senior Correspondent with Extra will host the pre-show red carpet stream on the @TheEmmys Youtube channel.
Extra host and Dancing with the Stars judge, Derek Hough will present during the ceremony, and correspondent Terri Seymour will also host coverage throughout the evening.
Extra’s weekend edition (A WEEK FOLLOWING the ceremony) will features notable red carpet moments, winner reactions, and exclusive footage from the night’s festivities.
The entertainment news program is also nominated for three Daytime Emmy Awards going into the ceremony.

The ceremony will stream live on the NATAS YouTube channel at YouTube.com/@theemmys and watch.TheEmmys.tv.
Scheduled to present from the current soaps are: Katelyn MacMullen (Willow, General Hospital), Delon de Metz (Zende, The Bold and the Beautiful), James Preston (Nick, The Bay), Paul Telfer (Xander, Days of our Lives), Tamara Tunie (Anita, Beyond the Gates) and Susan Walters (Diane, The Young and the Restless).

In addition soap alums, Crystal Chappell, Lesli Kay, Joe Lando, Eva LaRue, who is also a nominee this year, A Martinez, Juliet Mills, and Alicia Leigh Willis, will also be on hand to present.
The ceremony which celebrates nominated lifestyle programs and dramas will also include presenters: Eva zu Beck (Superskilled with Eva zu Beck), Danielle Chang (Lucky Chow), Sunny Hostin (The View), Derek Hough (Extra), Pati Jinich (Pati’s Mexican Table), Star Jones (Divorce Court), Michael Jr. (Stand Up and Do Something), Judge Greg Mathis (Mathis Court with Judge Mathis), Keke Palmer (Glam Through the Ages), Nischelle Turner (Entertainment Tonight), and Andrew Zimmern (Andrew Zimmern’s Wild Game Kitchen).

Matthew Hoffman (Love Island USA, Cheap A$$ Beach Houses) will serve as the ceremony’s Voice of God, bringing his signature comedic narration to the evening’s celebrations. As previously announced, Lifetime Achievement honoree Genie Francis (Laura, General Hospital) will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by her husband, Jonathan Frakes.

Congratulations are in order for three-time Emmy winner, Tom Pelphrey (ex-GL and ATWT) and his fiancée Big Bang Theory star, Kaley Cuoco! The couple welcomed their second baby daughter together on October 12, and revealed they named the little bundle of joy, Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey.
Tom and Kaley shared the news via their Instagram accounts on Wednesday with some adorable baby pics. Cuoco captioned the photo“🎀Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey🎀. 💖10/12/26💖. There are no words to describe this feeling once again. What a blessing.
Cuoco added, “We are so grateful for the crazy wild up and down journey that brought us to our little Philo! Family officially complete 😭Time to bring Matilda’s baby home! 😂💕”

Next, Kaley shared her love for the father of her children, exclaiming, “Tom Pelphrey, life exploded the minute we met, and the gifts keep coming. I love you forever , girl daddy! 💘.”
Philomena now joins big sister, Matilda mwho was born in 2023, as part of the Pelphrey/Cuoco family! Tom and Kaley began dating in 2022 and became engaged in 2024.
Daytime fans first saw the talented actor on Guiding Light as Jonathan Randall, the son of Reva Shayne (Kim Zimmer). Tom won two Daytime Emmys for his memorable performances during his run from 2004-2009.
He later played Mick Dante on As the World Turns from 2009-2010, before heading to work in primetime and motion pictures. Last month, Pelphrey one the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in HBO’s Task.

After winning his Emmy, the expectant dad told E! News, “We’re both so excited. Our daughter’s excited. We’ll see how it goes when it actually gets there.” Tom added, “The things that are new and the things that feel like not a big deal this time. But mom and baby are healthy, so God willing, that keeps up, and we’re thrilled,” added the actor.
Pelphrey took to his own Instagram and said on the birth of his second daughter, “Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey. Another miracle. Welcome to our family youngest queen! Kaley you showed up in every way as a partner and a mom even when you weren’t feeling your best- you’re a CHAMPION. The girls and I would be lost without you. Thank God for the gift of this family and these girls.”
