Heartbreaking news to report this Wednesday morning. Michael Fairman TV has learned exclusively that Michael Nader, best known for his role as “Dex” Dexter on ABC’s original version of Dynasty, and as Dimitri Marick on All My Children, has died at the age of 76.

Nader passed away on Monday, August 23rd at 11:30am from an untreatable form of cancer at his home in Northern California with his wife, Jodi by his side, and Michael’s rescue dog, Storm.

In an exclusive statement to MFTV, Michael’s wife, Jodi Lister expressed: “With heavy heart, I’m sharing the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael.  We had 18 wonderful years together with the many dogs we fostered and adopted. Recently, Michael was so thrilled to reconnect with his friends from the cast of Dynasty during Emma Samms virtual event to help raise funds for Long-Covid research. Michael was working on a book about his life and addiction at the time of his death.  He was a beautiful and fascinating man with many talents and skills.  I will miss him forever.”

Michael’s acting career spanned several decades. His first soap role was that of Kevin Thompson on As the World Turns (1975-1978, then the primetime soap, Bare Essence (1983) as Alexi Theopolous, before landing on Dynasty later that year as Alexis Colby’s (Joan Collins) third husband, “Dex”.  Nader remained with the series until its cancellation in 1989.

When All My Children came calling, Michael took on the role of Erica Kane’s (Susan Lucci) magnetic husband, Dimitri Marick, a role he played from 1991-1999, then again in 2000-2001. Michael returned to AMC during Prospect Park’s online revival of the series in 2013.

Just enjoyed Michael last weekend on the Wild West Chronicles!!! He will be missed! He gave me many years of enjoyment!!!

Rest in peace Michael Nader I loved you as Dimitri marik on all my children!

Zoom memorials are inhumane.

What a ridiculous thing to say, especially after what we’ve all been through in 2020 & this year!!

We have no choice. Thats the safe way these days. Really!

WHAT???????? What the heck does that even mean? A simple RIP would do.
Rest In Peace, Michael!!

I always enjoyed Michael’s performances. He was great in Perry Mason. Condolences to his family and friends.

This news saddens me, along with countless other fans, no doubt. I watched Nader on both Dynasty and AMC. He was always a dynamic, charismatic screen presence. Speaking of which, I was thrilled that Nader participated in the recent virtual Dynasty reunion, hosted by Emma Samms. It was an amazing event, enhanced by Nader’s participation. He will be missed…

Thanks Jamesj75 you expressed exactly what I was feeling. Take care.

Heartfelt Condolences to the Family and Friends of Michael Nader, He will be truly missed.

Thank you, Ms. Pat. You take care as well.

I am so very sorry to just hear this news of the passing of Michael Nader. Loved him on AMC. He surely will be missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Michael Nader was quite handsome and magnetic.

My very favorite man, I loved Michael. I just set up a website honoring Joan Collins and Michael. I’m so sad. I loved the character of Dex Dexter on Dynasty. He made the show for me…..I fell in love not only with his character but with all that I have read and the interviews I have seen. I have seen just about his films, I’m just missing the mini series he made with Susan Lucci. Michael was not only handsome but to me, the sexiest man alive. He was fantastic in Lucky Chances, what a fabulous actor. I’ll miss him very much.
I hope he wasn’t in too much pain.
My condolences to his family. He was very special to me and always will be.

Amen he was the best. My heart ❤ goes out to his family.

How I love the original DYNASTY. Michael Nader’s Dex was the only man who could satisfy Alexis and meet her on her own terms. Their love scenes were often over the top but who cares? We bought it because the actors were so good and the stories irresistible (well, until Fallon was kidnapped by E. T.) Condolences to his family.

Picked up my phone……his picture was on the front. Got into my car …..his picture is on my dashboard. I say I love him would be putting it mildly and to say I’ll miss him every day would be putting it even more mildly. Since I watch a bit of Dynasty every night, I’ll cry when I see Dex.

Well, now I’m sad. I loved AMC; was never a huge Erica fan but I adored her and Dimitri.

So sorry for your loss. Loved watching him on Dynasty and All My Children. He was a great actor with a heart of gold. Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and stay safe. God bless and be with you all in this most difficult time.

In 1984 my college roommate and I had the only color TV in our dorm. An entire hallway full of girls used to cram into our room on Wednesday nights to watch Dynasty. Oh, how we loved Dex Dexter!!
I also watched him and loved him on All My Children.
An era that’s long gone now.
RIP.

It saddens me to hear this news. Mr. Nader had a great career. He was perfect and necessary as Sex on Dynasty. And I really enjoyed him on All My Children. I really loved that serial in the 1990s because of the Marick storylines. Time passes and talents like all of us must go on to the next world. With soaps especially, it’s like family!

Erica & Dimitri were the ultimate super couple of AMC. I was just re-watching the Budapest story today. May he rest in peace. He will foever have a special place in my heart.

So sad. He was such a great actor. I watched on Dynasty as Alexi’s man Dex and as Susan Lucci’s 3rd husband on All my Children.RIP Michael

What about his autobiography he was writing.? Can Jodi finish it or maybe someone else ……publish it just the way it is. He promised it to us too n an interview.

Yes I remember him on Dynasty and all my Children.I loved his acting skills.

So sorry to hear about that he was a great actor. My heart goes out to his family

He was a good friend back in the 80s & 90s when would get together in Louisville. RIP my brother!!!

Noble and hunky
Heaven has a new star
Shine on dear Michael

This is profoundly sad news. I absolutely loved Michael Nader. He was wonderful in Bare Essence, Dynasty and All My Children. He was great in all his episodic TV roles too. This is such a tremendous loss to the entertainment world. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Prayers to his family and I hope he wasn’t in terrible pain. I have fond memories of watching Dynasty with my mom and I remember him. He was so handsome.

Always loved him on Dynasty and AMC..Godspeed

Very sad news ! My deepest condolences go out to his wife of 18 yrs, his stepmom daughter & the rest of his family including his many dogs loved ones friends fans & all who loved Michael! He is now an angel watching over us!

So sorry to hear of Michael’s passing. I enjoyed the old Beach Blanket Bingo with Michael along with Linda Evans (both early performances in their long careers). Thanks for entertaining me over the years. He was a big hero of mine due to his kind heart in rescuing animals.
R I P Michael.

I enjoyed him on All My Children as well on Dynasty. You have my deepest sympathy. May he Rest In Paradise.

I loved watching Micheal on Dynasy, and All my children. He was a great actor. My Condolences to his family.

Rest in peace Mr Michael Nader. As Dimitri on All My children. Marriage Erica Kane and Dex on dynasty Married to Joan Collins. A fine actor and a great leading man in the roles or would she portrayed may you rest in eternal peace plan your most important role of a lifetime you thanks for the memory and sharing your talents with all of us! RIP… Gone but not to be. Forgotten!

What a really good and cool actor. He was so debonair and smooth you could say . I’ve been a fan of his since he first popped up on Dynasty when I was in high school. He was charming and extremely charismatic. As they used to say a real man’s man.
And one of the greatest characters of All on All My children , he was always my favorite of Erica’s husband. LOL
Rest In Peace and thank you for the joy you brought us and the fun.

Sad hear Michael Nader passed away watch him on all my children & Dyansty he will be missed

It’s like my childhood is being taken away… everyday. So sad to see Michael is another one gone… too soon! May He Rest In Paradise!

Sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Michael Nadar! He was a debonair man like his characters he played! RIP Micheal!!

RIP l remember him well as he played Husband, one of many to Erica Kane in AMC. A great man to our canine population! Will be missed!

This has broken my heart. I love Michael so much and I’m so sad. He was such a beautiful sexy man and a very fine actor with a great voice. He’ll always be my Dex Dexter. I watch a few episodes every night. I love the show and especially Dex and Alexis. I’m a real Dame Joan Collins fan. They had great chemistry which is the name of the game. I this Joan was something like 12 years older than Michael but she is so fantastic for any age, it doesn’t matter but their chemistry was incredible. R.I.P. to a truly wonderful man. He will be sorely missed by millions all over the world.

I remember watching him in Beach Blanket Bingo with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello he was also in the tv series Gidget with Sally Field what an amazing actor and his performance as Farnsworth Dex Dexter and Dimitri Marick was outstanding even in the online version of AMC he continued to be a class act he will be missed my heart goes out to his family his relative is late actor Gary Nader.

Back in the 50’s as a teen I have his uncle picture every where. George Nader

As a teen in the 50’s I loved his uncle George Nader. Nice looking men

A huge fan of his work on All My Children and Dynasty

Loved him ❤️my favorite tv actor when I was young, so sorry for his family

I was not a big Dynasty fan, but I loved and watched all of the All My Children episodes. Such a big fan of Michael and Susan. He will definitely be missed. I might have to watch some of the shows I have not seen. Loved that he and Jodi fostered dogs along with adoption. My daughter and I have 3 of our own foster/adoption furbabies. We have probably also fostered over 100 in the years we have been doing it. Rest in peace Michael and now the family has a guardian angel to watch over them and all of the furbabies out there.

Sending sincere sympathy to Michael’s family. What a talented actor and personable guy. I had the pleasure of chatting with him at a JFK airport baggage claim in July 1978. I recognized him from my mom’s favorite soap opera, so I asked him about the latest plot twist and he told me he’d just come from LA, I believe saying his sister had a new baby. Somewhere I have a photo with him, I hope it can be found. Thanks Michael for sharing your talent, and for a wonderful memory, RIP …

Michael was, in my opinion, an outstanding actor. He would have been a great addition to cast of Days of Our Lives.

Even as a grandpa he was sexy as f—

Michael Nader leaves many great memories with us. Many prayers to the families & close friends. Sad to lose another great legend.

So incredibly sad to hear. Praying for your family and loved ones!

Malachy McCourt, ‘Ryan’s Hope’ and ‘All My Children’ Actor, Dead at 92

If you watched Ryan’s Hope through its 14-year-run, you know that Kevin the bartender became a beloved “member’ of the Ryan clan on the defunct ABC daytime drama series. The character of Kevin MacGuiness became so loved by the fans because of the actor who portrayed him, Malachy McCourt.

Sadly, according to his wife Diana McCourt to The New York Times, Malachy passed away on Monday from a heart condition and battling cancer. The actor was 92-years-old.

Playing Kevin on Ryan’s Hope was not much of a stretch for McCourt, because in his lifetime, he was the owner of 1950s Irish pub Malachy’s on Third Avenue in Manhattan. Known as one of the city’s great story-tellers, patrons from longshoremen to the actor Richard Harris would stop in and talk all things Irish with . On Ryan’s Hope, Kevin was best friends to “Ryan’s Bar” owner, Johnny Ryan (Bernie Barrow) and he tried to keep Delia (Ilene Kristen) on the straight and narrow.

In his soap opera career, McCourt also was widely-known for his role of Father Clarence McCourt on All My Children especially come Christmastime. Was Clarence, actually St. Nick? That was always the proverbial question. McCourt also appeared on the New York soaps: One Life To Live, Search For Tomorrow and Another World. Other roles included: Devil’s Own, Brewster’s Millions, The Molly Maguires, and Starman, to name

Later in 2006, Malachy ran for governor of the state of New York as a Green Party candidate. He tackled social issues of the time including being an advocate for gay and lesbian groups to march in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

McCourt’s childhood was recounted within his brother Frank McCourt’s Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir Angela’s Ashes, which detailed their mother’s attempt to raise the four of their surviving seven children in poverty in Limerick, Ireland. Later, Malachy wrote his own memoirs: 1998’s Monk Swimming, and 2000’s Singing My Him Song.

Malachy is survived by his aforementioned wife, Diana, daughter Siobhan McCourt; sons Malachy Jr., Conor and Cormac; stepdaughter Nina Galin; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
