Eric Braeden Inks New Deal With The Young and the Restless!

While several familiar daytime faces and citizens of Genoa City were just told of their departures due to budget cutting measures and the regime change at the top, there was some good news today for Victor Newman fans!
Daytime Emmy winner and soap icon, Eric Braeden has inked a new deal with The Young and the Restless with Y&R’s production company, Sony, that will apparently keep him on the series for years to come. According to EW.com, Braeden said in a statement, “Very glad we got the negotiations successfully behind us.” The terms of Braeden’s new multi-year deal were not released.
The post also went on to say, “Braeden’s new contract should come as good news to fans who may be worried about new Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps and how many roles she will cut to save the soap some cash. “
Ok soapers, happy that Eric Braeden is still on board at Y&R? Let us know!

‘One Life to Live’ Alum Tuc Watkins Joins Cast of Brett Goldstein’s Prime Video Series ‘Escorted’

Tuc Watkins (ex-David Vickers, One Life to Live) continues to be booking role after role, and now comes word that the Llanview soap alum has joined the cast of Escorted, the upcoming comedy series from and starring Ted Lasso and Shrinking star, Brett Goldstein.
According to Deadline, Tuc has signed on for the production of the series, where he will play the role of Neil, who looks like a cowboy. However, here’s the catch! Neil is a trainer at a high-end gym and a male escort to wealthy woman on the side. Shades of Llanview’s David Vickers, for sure!
In the premise of Escorted, a divorced Manhattan dad, played by Goldstein, accidentally becomes a male escort in a romantic comedy about sexual dynamics, keeping secrets, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.

Prime Video ordered the eight-episode, half-hour single-camera romantic comedy from Brett Goldstein last November. Goldstein will star, executive, produce, write, and co-showrun. In a statement, Brett expressed, “I’m so excited to bring a wholesome show about condoms, co-parenting, and cosplay to Amazon.”
As for Watkins, he is currently recurring on Hulu’s Paradise and appeared in the second season of ABC’s Shifting Gears. His other TV credits include: HBO Max’s The Other Two, Showtime’s Black Monday, and series regular roles on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, Showtime’s Beggars and Choosers, and more.
In addition, Tuc has a recurring role in Shemar Moore’s upcoming S.W.A.T. Exiles for Starz which premieres on September 25. Watkins numerous film credits include: The Mummy, The Good Shepherd and Retake. Watkins recently wrapped the indie feature, Cowboy, and in 2025 starred in the feature Exile Interviews.
So, what do you think of Tuc’s new role as a male escort to wealthy woman in Escorted? Looking forward to seeing him S.W.A.T. Exiles? Let us know via the comment section below.

Y&R’s Victoria and Kyle’s Love Affair to Kick-Off; Amelia Heinle Says EP Sally McDonald Shared Why; ‘You’ve Got Chemistry’ with Michael Mealor

A day many fans of The Young and the Restless have been dreading, and others are down for, is here. Beginning with the Thursday, August 27 episode of The Young and the Restless, Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) will have sex taking their growing attraction to each other to another level.
But why is Y&R heading down the path of an older woman/younger man, Newman/Abbott, former love interest of Victoria’s daughter Claire (Hayley Erin) and all the complications with longtime waring families? Because to the series, it will generate story to come.
Two-time Daytime Emmy winner, Amelia Heinle revealed to TV Insider, how she found out what she suspected that the powers-that-be were setting up a romance between Victoria and Kyle.

Photo: JPI
“At one point a while back, I noticed Kyle was always coming to talk to Victoria or we’d run into each other and I told Michael, ‘I don’t think they would ever put us together, but this is kind of funny because it feels like they’re trying to test our chemistry, which would be really, really odd,” recalled Heinle. ”
“But that memory passed quickly. And then I walked off set one day after finishing a scene with Michael and I got called up to our executive producer, Sally McDonald’s, office and she said, ‘We’re giving you a romance with him.’ And I’m like, ‘Who?’ And she said, ‘Him,’ and she pointed at the monitor because Michael was still on set. I was like, ‘Oh, OK. Are you sure?’ And she was like, ‘Uh-huh. Yup. You’ve got chemistry.’”
Once she learned the news, Heinle talks with Michael Mealor to make sure he was OK with the romantic story turn. “I walked up to him one day on set when I found out and said, ‘Do you know about this yet?’. Hw was like, ‘Yeah,’ and then I said, ‘So, are you OK?’ And he said, ‘Are you OK?’ And I said, ‘I’m good. I think we could make something out of this,’ and he said, ‘I do, too. I plan on leaning into it all.’ So, we were in agreement. Michael and I have always gotten along. We’ve always liked each other.”

The storyline was started by now former Y&R head writer Josh Griffith. So now that Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor are in place as the new co-head writers of the top-rated soap, things could change dramatically or go full steam ahead.
Heinle offered up, “It’s not going to be boring, that’s for sure. I feel like right now with the new writers coming in, it’s a work in progress. I feel like we’re seeing how it goes. They’re fully committed to it, but nothing is set in stone in terms of the story yet.”
So, where do you stand? Do you want to see Kyle and Victoria rip the clothes off of each other, have sex and have a torrid affair? Do you think it’s wrong for Victoria to be sleeping with her daughter’s former boyfriend? What side of the fence do you land on with this pairing? Let us know via the comment section below.

Dolly Parton Remembered: Y&R Alum Alyvia Alyn Lind Shares Heartfelt Tribute to the Legendary Singer and Songwriter

The world is in mourning on Tuesday, August 25 with the news of the passing of iconic and beloved country western singer/songwriter/actress Dolly Parton. The 11-time Grammy winner crafted and performed memorable hits such as “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” 9 to 5″, and “Here You Come Again, ” to name but a few.
Parton died in Nashville today. She was 80-years-old. Not only was Dolly an iconic name in the world of music, she was also an actor, producer, playwright, theme park founder (Dollywood), and a noted philanthropist.
One of the people lucky enough to know and experience the life of Dolly through a different lens was Alyvia Alyn Lind, the one time Faith Newman of The Young and the Restless. Lind played the role of Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) daughter on and off from 2011-2021.

ALVIA ALYN LIND PLAYED A YOUNG DOLLY
However, it was Lind, who portrayed a young Dolly in the television movie adaption of Parton’s song and book “A Coat of Many Colors” in 2015, and its sequel in 2016 Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.
Parton and Lind shared a close bond following the project, famously performing a touching, emotional duet of Parton’s song “Angel Hill” together on Hallmark’s Home & Family.
Taking to her Instagram just a short time ago, Alyvia paid tribute to the one and only Parton, expressing, “I am truly at a loss for words. There are some people who come into your life and leave a mark that can never be erased. Dolly was one of those people. will forever be grateful that I had the privilege of knowing her, learning from her, and carrying a piece of her with me through such an important and formative part of my childhood. Getting to play Dolly changed my life, but getting to know her changed my heart. Memories, lessons, laughter, and a light that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”
Alyvia added, “The world will never be the same without her, but that light will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to experience it. Thank you for believing in me, for teaching me, for letting me be a small part of your story, and for being such a meaningful part of mine. Rest peacefully, Dolly. You will be missed more than words can ever say. Thank you for everything. ❤️
FAMILY ANNOUNCES THE DEATH OF DOLLY PARTON
Parton also starred alongside Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dabney Coleman in the smash 1980 film 9 to 5, and later roles in films including: The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Rhinestone, Steel Magnolias, Straight Talk, and Joyful Noise.
Parton’s death was announced via her official Instagram post by her nephew, Bryan Seaver on behalf of the Parton family. He shared the news in a video statement. You can see that below.

Happy!
Ugh….of all the cast members I wish they’d have axed Captain Creepy first. His salary alone probably would have saved most of the other jobs.
sorry ugh but victor is y&r period
happy happy he is staying
they needed to get rid of the dead wood thats messed up y and r for the last 2
yrs
its reallly sucked,
may jfp can do better i hope so
i watch only for victor and billy
One of the best person on this show Eric,u don’t want to get rid of him,he act very well…..I always looking forward of wat next he have up his sleeve…..he should be getting 3mill a year,to me the entire show will b mess up if he is not their…he and jack I love to see them at war
yes i am happy victor is safe,,,,,but furious at them for letting abby ,geniviev, cant spell her name ,and morgan go…not fair… to the fans of many yrs..
Well, this particular Y&R fan is NONE too happy that Eric Braeden is staying on. I want his egotistical, self-righteous ass gone from Y&R! He has become a useless tool!
Hoping he gets put in a secondary position in story
lines. His actiing has not been great and his story “linestoo silly and young. He should finally become a strong proud grandpa in comm nity instead of the small minded snivelling idiot he has become. Grow up victor/eric!
Very VERY happy Eric Braeden is back on board!! Genewa City wouldn’t be the same without him!
sorry michael but victor rocks, he is the useless tool that holds y and r
together and i think most fans agree
Well, I am happy. We need to keep our veterans and I like Eric Braeden.
Yes!!! Great news love Eric!!!
While I am happy that a veteran is still on the show and that the iconic character will still be part of the fabric of the show, I will wait to say I’m happy until I see a definite reigning in of Eric Braeden and his massive ego. These past few years fans have watched as both Victor and his portrayer have ruled YR with an iron fist. Maria allowed Eric to dictate story lines and bully his way around that set with no one there to reign him in and remind him that he is not the only actor on YR, nor is he the primary one. I feel strongly that while Maria was ultimately to blame, Eric had a 50% hand in the demise of the show with his constant need to have his ego fed. If Victor Newman can be put in a more patriarch position while allowing the younger characters like Adam and Nick to rise up and beginning leading the show then I’ll be happy. If it’s going to be more of the same with Victor always winning , having the last word and having every woman fall at his feet, then I’m afraid YR will continue to suffer no matter what writer is in charge. Stories have to change and so do the ego’s running rampant on YR.
*Standing up* **APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE, APPLAUSE**
Thank you Teri!
Teri I think the first thing we need to do when Victor comes back is have the camera pan into his medicine cabinet and show all the Viagra pills!! LOL I will personally be much more excited to hear Doug Davidson is staying and is going to have a love interest,
Teri I just came across this and thought I would share it with all you soap fans: Any actor who thinks he is the star of a soap opera is deluding himself. It just doesn’t work that way. MacDonald Carey who played Dr. Tom Horton on Days. Quoted 4/22/86. A wonderful man and had done movies for years before they asked him to come over to a soap opera Days and that person was William Bell.
I agree Victor should step back and let the younger Newmans take the main roles .I really do get tried of victor getting his own way.Hey that’s not the way it works in the real world. OH yes we are talking about the soaps aren’t we.
I am tired of Victor and Nikki and would love to see him on the back burner. My favorite character is Sharon. I like Daisy and tired of Phyllis and Nikki’s winning. I would LOVE more Abbotts all of them! I pray Drucilla will come back. I really hate waisting my time on un talented Chelsea character. It bores me. Sorry but that is how i strongly feel
sharon really they have turned her into a unwatchable **itch
i am waiting for victor to come and throw her out on her *ss
with tucker behind her
she is plain sickening period
love victor and nikki
I will not miss Victor nor Nikki if they change their mind and leave. I really don’t see the point in doing the merry go round with them for years to come!!!
Never thought he was leaving!
I am sorry that he is staying. I can’t stand him when he comes on I leave the room. Him and Nikki are the most sickening people and they sure could get rid of Phyillis what a bitch she is another one I leave the room. Actually it is getting to the point where I could careless if I watch it. The only good couple that is on there is Victoria and Billy and than he is leaving what a shame.
I am excited! I really like Eric Braeden as an actor. I am a huge fan of his character, Victor Newman!
yea joe victor rocks
It simply wouldn’t be “the Young and the Restless” without the omnipotent, inimitable Eric Braeden in his signature role of Victor Newman. GREAT NEWS for fans of the show everywhere!
i see MTS getting the ax, or going to recurring JFP hates older ladies. Hope JC is the exception.
Awesome!!!!
Time for a change Y&R. Eric Braeden should not continue to dominate storyline. There are other talented cast members who should be showcased and not sacrificed for one character or the hiring of another big star. Learn from your mistakes Sony and JFP.
Very Happy!! Would not be Y&R without him. True Y&R fans realize this.
I’m not too crazy about Vic most of the time, but I’m glad he’s staying for continuity sake. I just hope they write him more age-appropriate. And use him a little less often 🙂
I am not surprised but I do hope the new team will do something new with Victor and Nikki. I have never wated tears or smiles on this star-crossed duo. There is nothing redeemable about Victor Newman, and Nikki’s dependence on him at the expense of her own well-being and strength is sad in this day and age. I hope they will be reunited and maybe go through something that makes them realize it is time to make amends, reunite their family, and enjoy a story that is not so vindictive or deplorable or that sets back relationships a couple generations. These are supposedly the business and social leaders of Genoa City. Sometimes I think the mobsters in Port Charles are more entertaining.
Glad to see Jess Walton back. Read the excellent post about Jill’s character beign the heart of Y&R. It makes so much sense. Jill may no longer be young (who is?) but she seems ever restless.
I like the character Victor and I am glad Eric is playing him, but over the years the character hasn’t shown any growth. The writers have turned him into a stereotype. I would like to see a story about Victor aging instead trying to have him act like he still in his thrities. Victoria or Adam should really compete for the head spot instead of trying to make Daddy happy. I would even be happy to see Sharon boot him off his throne and have the writers tell an honest story of what is like for a man who once ruled the world, lose that power- that would be interesting. But another story about Victor bullying everyone to his way or the highway, would be dull.
I am happy, happy, happy that Mr. Eric Braeden is staying on at Y&R. He could never, ever be replaced. Hope that he received a huge pay increase,he deserves it. he is a great actor, and great man. I am just over the top happy for all of his devoted fans, myself included. Best news that I’ve heard recently. I am looking forward to many more years of seeing Mr. Braeden do what he does best, and that is to act, a craft that he has finely honed to perfection, over many many years. Did I mention that I am so HAPPY with the great news…..YES I AM.
Best news! Eric Braeden is the Young and the Restless without a doubt. The summer
proved it when he was on vacation it was a complete bore. Looking forward to seeing
him for many more years.
rosalie i could not agree more its been boring as he**
sick of sharon and her bitchy self wait till victor gets back
like the old saying “katie bar the door”
Yow that old Victor a real sweetheart fed rats to his first wifes lover and held him in a cell cause he thought his wife was carrying the lovers child not his incorrect I believe her name was Julia, and did not lift a finger to help Sharon save Skye in that stupid volcano plot abuses Nikki and his kids and they still go back. I really feel sorry for Sharon Case she will probably in the end lose her job because of the black hole MAB wrote her in.
Very happy. The soap is not the same without him.
right on matt you know who makes a good soap
I am happy that he is staying. I do though wish he would have a more grownup part. I like the rough side of him, but wish he would use it to get his family back together. After all he has said in the past that family is very important, but he doesn’t show it enough.
I think that the Victor character has been ruined beyond repair. I would hope that women in 2012 would not put up with a character like Victor who verbally, emotionally, and in Diane Jenkins’ case when he threw her out of the ambulance, physical abuse. That’s not entertainment! The character is dated. Who ever heard of a man Victor’s age being the heart throb of young women and beating up on men forty years younger. He looks ridiculous.
As for EB, the reports of his having tantrums on the set because the script isn’t to his liking is ridiculous. That, I’m not sure if that speaks to MAB’s failure as a boss for allowing it or points out that it is time for him to leave.
There is no room for prima donnas on any set.
sorry katherine victor makes y and r the storyline with diane jenkins
aka carly from atwt totally sucked, as for EB liking things his way
so what he is the main star and y and r
and maybe you should change the channel
Met Eric once loved him in real life. Glad he is staying on. the show would not be the same without him. I figure next week someone is going to be found dead and everyone will think its Victor,,,,,He was on the phone did he ever make into the building? Victor is the man’s man. Live forever Victor!
KAY KAY SORRY YOU DO NOT LIKE VICTOR BUT IT SEEMS EVERYONE ELSE
DOES IT HAS SUCKED THE LAST 2 YRS PERIOD
ERIC BRADEN HAS TO BE FRONT AND CENTER SORRY, BUT THATS THE WAY
THE SOAPS GO
I PERSONALLY HOPE THEY GET RID OF SHARON CASE AND AS A MATTER
OF FACT ALL MY FRIENDS THINK THE SAME, SHE HAS SLEPT WITH
EVERYONE IN GENOA CITY, VICTOR THE SAME BUT ITS A MANS WORLD
ON SOAPS AND WOMEN ALWAYS PLAY SECOND FIDDLE
BUT ANYWAY I DO LOVE VICTOR SORRY IF YOU DO NOT FEEL THE SAME
WAY HE MUST HAVE A HUGE FAN FOLLOWING AND I SEEN HIS INTERVIEW ON
THE TALK AND HE STATED THE FAN RESPONSE WAS THE REASON HE
CAME BACK TO Y AND R LAST TIME
ROCK ON VICTOR!!!
Soooooooooooo happy that Victor will remain, the show will never be the same without him and I, after all these years will not watch it anymore. All the young stars stink. The only ones to watch are the old timers. The show will fall to the bottom of the barrel if Victor ever leaves. I agree that Sharon should leave the show, never liked her from day one, but of course it is the writers that make her the way she is, which means she must be a good actress. We have to blame the writers for the story lines, which sometimes get a bit rediculous but Victor always seems to get back to his old self eventually. He should stay with Nicki forever.
I was very disappointed when I heard Victor would not be on Y&R anymore. I vowed to never watch it again, as did my mother and aunt and several friends who have been watching for years. I have been watching for forty years since I was a teenager from the first day Y&R aired. I am beyond thrilled that Victor is staying ! Y&R would never survive without him. Thanks to all who made negotiations !
Without Victor the soap would not be the same.
Yes! I was really hoping he was going to stay on the show :)))
I am stoked that Eric is staying! He is without a doubt the #1 character, followed by Adam! Love the character and love the show! I def can’t stand Phyllis! Cut her!!!
Great news to have Mr. Eric Braeden on Y&R for a few more years, great actor, great man. Looking forward to seeing new stories by new writers and watching Eric Braeden do what he does best and that is to make every scene that he is in, as real and as great as he possibly can. He never fails his fans,he is simply the very best.
This goes to show that the Y&R Producers have respect for their long-time employees and their long-time fans. WAY TO GO! Eric Braeden is the royalty of Y&R and deserves all the props! TGVN reigns! 🙂 So glad for this news!
I am soooooo happy Eric is staying and signed another contract 🙂
I really like watching his character Victor..i always go to bat for him where he is right or wrong lol lol lol,,,his kind side reminds me of my Dad that lives in Australia so when i see Victor being kind to people it makes me think about my Dad a lot lol lol 🙂 I am looking forward to how Victor deals with Jack in the coming episodes..Keep up the great work Eric..you are an awesome actor and a real pleasure to watch 🙂
Also loved you in Titanic 🙂
Sooo happy he is staying on !!!! Wouldnt be the same wth out him. yeeeuuuhhh!!
I am so happy Eric (victor) is staying, happy, happy I have been his fan since he started that role in which he plays very, very well. Thank You Sony and Thank You Eric for the role tha you play so very well.
