Evan Hofer Makes His General Hospital Debut as Dex: What Were Your First Impressions?
This week, General Hospital fans got their first glimpse of the newest addition to the cast when Evan Hofer made his debut as Dex.
When viewers first met Dex, he was filling-in for Chet (Chris Van Etten) at the gym. Sonny (Maurice Benard) was pleased with how Dex handled things and had learned from Chet that Dex also had military experience and was a war vet. After a fight broke out at the gym, Sonny was impressed with Dex.
Next on Friday’s episode, Dex and Sonny had an ‘interview’/meeting at Sonny’s office, where it was clear that Dex could be the next ‘Jason’ and is poised to be Sonny’s potential right-hand man. Sonny tells Dex he has to find out if he can trust him, first.
The mob boss is aware that Dex has the muscle, but does he have the smarts to play by the rules, and take orders from Sonny, and know what to do when in certain situations? It’s clear Dex wants in.
However, could there be a swerve coming? Could Dex have been planted, without Chet or Sonny knowing about it, and he is actually working as an informant working for a rival Port Charles mob? There has been much speculation to just who Dex may have ties with.
Actor Evan Hofer previously appeared on primetime from shows such as Modern Family to Lethal Weapon.

He’s cute and did okay for a first day. He seems new to the format so give him time. But he really doesn’t have the physical presence that Jason had, if a replacement “fixer” is what they’re going for. In spite of that “break up the fight” scene, it looks like Josslyn or Britt could take him in a fight. But we are badly in need of eye candy on GH to keep gorgeous Chase company. I say Evan is very welcome. I also LOVE that Chet is back but it’s too bad they’re creating phony bad blood between Amy and Terry just to create conflict.
Nope, Jason was totally gorbeous, taller and would never touch Josslyn.
I only see two real possibilities here….
Either he’s a plant from a rival mob family or……
He’s had amnesia & plastic surgery and is back where he belongs without realizing it.
Here’s what favors the latter possibility…. “Dex” is short for “Dexter”. There was a recently revived popular TV show about a guy named Dexter. And his last name was….
MORGAN.
What if they just made the clues a little too obvious?
I’d really rather they brought Bryan Craig back, of course. Though he seems to want to play this pointless character on “Good Trouble” who does nothing but wonder around aimlessly looking for his sister or whatever. But the character is really needed in Port Charles…. because somebody needs to clue Sonny in about a certain parasite messing with his medication, thus explaining why he’s not right in the head lately. And who better to do that than the son who has lived through it?
I get Jason being intimidating, but this guy LOL. He broke up a boxing sparring match that was laughable and Sonny fell in love. Oh my days. NOT!
I’m with you. They need an actor with more body mass, muscle, to fill jason’s shoes. Or, bring back the original jason with the mask mandate lifted. Nothing against this young man’s acting skills.

LOL—when you put it that way, Dev, I guess the new guy isn’t so impressive after-all. .
Nothing against this handsome actor; but GH’s cast is too heavy as it is. They should be “killing off” characters instead of adding new ones. I also don’t want this “new guy” to be Jason 2.0 it should be Brando. So I would like the writers to hurry-up already and write Sasha’s death via an overdose. Brando would be so broken-hearted he wouldn’t care about life anymore and become Sony’s enforcer … THEN … the only person that can reach him emotionally (and be his next love) would be Willow (writing their love story similar to when got into the accident that caused him to lose his memory, i.e. a Jason/Robin 2.0). This would create SO MUCH drama between Michael, Sony, Brando, Willow… and Michael will become more AJ like in is constant attempts to win Willow back from Brando and always fail. Michael will also become vindictive against Sony cause he’ll feel Sony is constantly siding with Brando.
I just love it when past storylines are implemented into current storyline with legacy characters. 🙂
Technically, neither of them would be Jason 2.0
The real Jason 2.0 was a bald Marine named “Cody” who Jason himself hired to work his old job, when he had to temporarily take over the organization after Sonny’s run in with the Feds… for a while after that, Sonny ran the coffee business ONLY and “officially” had no affiliation with Jason’s operations.
Then after Jason “died” in 2012, Shawn Butler eventually took his job for a while. And though Drew thought he was Jason for a while, he actually wasn’t, so that technically made him “Jason 4.0”
So who ever gets the gig next is really “Jason 5.0” at best. And it will probably be a short gig, because we all know the real Jason ain’t dead.
So is Jason coming back or not? Really don’t need any substitute Jason’s. Seriously General Hospital?
Clearly he’s ready to work. And the Days thing is just a 5 episode thing, so I doubt there are any long term prospects for him there.
And unlike Jax, he didn’t have any sort of public meltdown over the vaccine issues, or insult any of his coworkers on Twitter, so there’s no reason to think he’s on anything other than good terms with the “powers that be” at GH. And this latest turmoil in his personal life apparently isn’t interfering with his work. So I’d say it’s just a matter of time. You can bet your soul on it, Jason will be back this summer.
The show is getting worse with the story lines. Sonny and Nina is terrible. Jason gone also not a good look for them. Esme still getting away with her dirt. Now Willow is Nina’s daughter. Adding more and more storylines without getting through the ones already started. Never ending and none are exciting.
No one can replace Jason!!!

I agree. Brando is far more like the character created by Steve Burton…without pretending to be Jason.
I never got the impression that they are trying to replace Jason with Dex.First of all Jason is at least 20 years older than Dex. There can be no comparison. I think Dex is a plant who is trying to take down Sonny. But it seems that their relationship is changing. Dex is starting to like Sonny. Who knows, we shall see.
I don’t want Sasha to die. I want something to happen that makes her feel the need for Brando to work for Sonny. Something where Sonny’s protection becomes Sasha’s salvation.
Why kill Sasha. They need to drop the drug storyline. Why cant we just have a normal happy couple

I can’t stand Nina i really want Carly to stick it to her good. I also, want Sonny to wake up and realize what Nina did to him and his family. I want him and Carly back together.
Don’t agree, although very well acted I don’t like Carley. She’s to o ver powering I like Nina’s vulnerability. As Mike sonny if you will recall was not interested in finding out who he was. The best of Sonny was Mike. Frankly Carley turned to Jason for everything. It was Jason she loved and trusted not Sonny. Sonny represented power to her. Something that put her on top of everyone else. Nina on the other hand loves Sonny/Mike in a way Carley never did.
Harlen &Shari…I’m more inclined to like the influence Nina has had on Sonny/Mike. I liked their time in Nixon Falls. As someone who has watched GH for many years it was a nice timeout from the mob-boss Sonny, Carly and Jason centric, writers giving them a pass for all the bad things they did, and the not-on-screen killings they were responsible for. It’s been a long time, and I don’t remember the details, but how Carly and Sonny got together wasn’t pretty. Nina doesn’t even come close. I’ll never forget that episode. Ugh!
The actor was okay for the first day. The character was being a bit of a butt-kisser to Sonny trying to get a job in that stupid gym scrubbing toilets.

when I saw how Dex handled those guys fighting my first impression was oh another Jason, but when I saw Sonny looking at him I said Dex was pretty quick and now that Mob Boss Sonny saw that Dex most definitely will be the next right hand man or not, I mean he came out of nowhere, but we will see, I think he will be perfect for the job

for everyone who needed council or help, hell, he was even willing to marry his boss’s wife to help the cause. It has to be a special person to fill his shoes.

Wow, I’m surprised that people want Brando to become a criminal when basically the coolest thing about his character is how he turned his back on that life and has been true to his principles. I know there’s a popular idea that Sasha dies and the emotional fallout sends Brando spiraling to a life of crime. But if Sonny were to employ him when he was in that emotionally fragile/confused state, it would make Sonny even slimier than he already is.
Hollyoaksboi…I hadn’t heard the rumours about Sasha. After what happened to baby Liam and Harmony someone should really convince her to get some psych help from Kevin. Get rid of the drug story. If soaps can handle other type sicknesses, couldn’t they show how to come out on the positive side on this one. With proper help? As far as Brando “No” to slime guy Sonny. Seeing him handle the poparazzi (sp?) photographer the other day why not put him on the police force.

The last thing I want is for Brando to become a criminal. I think even the idea of him working for Sonny would break he and Sasha up but I also think if they break up, that is what will turn him towards Sonny.

I agree with most who say he is a good looking guy but NO match to Jason! Plus we don’t think he is going to be anything like Jason as far as an enforcer. It would be the best if the GH writers apologize to Steve Burton, offer him more money (which he would deserve) and get him to come back. NOBODY will replace Jason!!!

Janet…You do realize the business beside “coffee” is crime. The only redeeming thing Sonny does is keeps drugs out of his territory. I’m not interested in crime or Sonny taking another young lost soul under his wing like he has done his whole career and help to corrupt then if guys and use them if girls. So I’d be happy to see the “business” fall apart.

Dex is not brain injured as Jason was from the car accident. Dex is an intelligent thinking military veteran who may not be as trainable and led around without question by Sonny like Jason was. Sonny wants to find out if he can trust Dex, this means ex will do Sonny’s dirty work without asking questions. Sean was also a military veteran and worked for Sonny and it landed Sean in jail.
There is NO replacement for Jason. Its Steve Burton or nobody! Having said that, Steve is currently unavailable. I would move Brando closer into Sonny’s organization. Especially if Sascha dies of a drug overdose. Brando will be motivated to find out who sold her the drugs and take them down! When Steve is available, they will dig him out of the cave on Cassadine island. This new character Dex, he is handsome and can hone his craft at GH. He will get better. Brando struggled when he first arrived and he has become a better actor. Dex’s biggest problem is he is too young to be a Jason or even a Lucky recast. So I would just make him a Stone Cates type of character that we grow to love and he has his own problems and is not looked at as the “New Jason.” Dex can work for Sonny and when Jason returns, he will go right back into the enforcer role that Sonny would want and Dex would have no problem working under Jason. Michael Corinthos never keeps a women so I can see Willow falling into Brando’s arms. Dex, he could end up with Esme if she is finally revealed and plays Dex like a fiddle. Or maybe its Dex Christine? I would like to see another new character enter the picture, Brad’s sister. I dont know if he has one but Miss Woo needs to have more of a family. I like her. Dex and a Woo’s relationship would not be good for business but when your in love, who cares!
My opinion, Dex staged the boxing ring fight to get Sonny’s attention and gain an in. I think he’s from a rival family and planted to take the Corinthos sp family down from the inside. After the way Sonny treated him at the coffee shop. I’d say Dex is in! Let the game’s begin. Sonny’s been annoying me since Nixon Falls. It’ll be nice to see him forced to pick a side. The family or Nina!

2026 SDSA TV Award Nominations: All Five Daytime Dramas Score in Best Achievement in Set Decoration
The Set Decorators Society of America has revealed its nominations for 2025-26 SDSA Awards for Television, which recognizes the work of the set decoration and production designers in primetime, streaming and daytime series.
This year, all five soap operas: Beyond the Gates, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and The Young and the Restless all received nominations in the Best Achievement in Decor/Design of a Daytime Series category.
In its official SDSA rule book, to qualify for the category of a Daytime Series, which includes daytime dramas, daytime talk shows, daytime game shows, and daytime children’s programming, all episodes must air before 6:00pm and must have a credited Set Decorator. For daytime dramas, the content must contain multiple plotlines that are carried over from episode to episode.

The eligibility year for episodes runs June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026. Founded in 1993, the SDSA is an international nonprofit professional association dedicated to promoting excellence and preserving the legacy of the art of set decoration in motion pictures and television.
Several popular primetime and streaming titles that have wrapped their final seasons also received nods including Euphoria, Stranger Things, Hacks, Outlander, and The Boys. Popular titles such as Bridgerton.

The Thursday June 4 episode of General Hospital paved way for the end of the line for Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) butler/fixer, Pascal (Marc Forget).
In the pick of the June 3 cliffhanger, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) was the hero and stopped the evil-doer from fleeing Port Charles for his part in aiding and abetting his boss with the cover-up of the murder of Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard) among other crimes.
Today’s episode did indeed mark the final appearance of Marc Forget who joined the ABC soap opera when he debuted back in July of 2025. Viewers met met Pascal when Kelly Thiebaud returned to the soap opera as Britt Westbourne and she was being blackmailed to work on Faison’s final project while at the Five Poppies in Dalmatia.

A General Hospital rep confirmed to Soap Opera Digest, that the June 4 episode, “Will be the last viewers will see of Pascal for now, but notes that in the world of Port Charles, comebacks are always possible.” So, how did Pascal get written-off the canvas? Here’s what went down:
PASCAL GIVES LUCAS KEY INFORMATION BEFORE BEING DRAGGED AWAY
After Sonny intercepted Pascal on his desperate attempt to get out of town, Sonny informed him hat Sidwell would stop at nothing from trying to get retribution for whoever killed his son, Marco, and promptly turned around and said that he would help Pascal flee the country, only if he turned on Sidwell.
An absolutely terrified Pascal had evidence for Sonny that he could use against Sidwell. However, he feared he would get killed on sight if he tried to retrieve the incriminating photos of Sonny and Laura from the safe at Wyndemere. So instead, Pascal gave the combination to the safe to Lucas (Van Hansis), so he could get the blackmail photos himself. But, did Pascal just set up Lucas to be killed since he loathes him for being the man to win the heart of the late Marco?
In the end, Sonny had one of his henchmen drag Pascal away and whisked off to an airfield to fly away to parts unknown, and hopefully never to be heard from again. But what now? Is Lucas going to end up being pegged as Marco’s killer and taken down by Sidwell if he gets his hands on the incriminating photos for Sonny and Laura? Stay tuned.

In one of the more far-fetched soap opera moments in recent memory, while Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) and Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) are chatting at the Quartermaine boathouse in swimming trunks for him and a bikini for her, the two exes have a heart to heart on Wednesday’s June 3 episode of General Hospital.
The moment was set-up by Michael (Rory Gibson) and Jacinda (Paige Herschell) who want to find a way to push the exes together in order to get incriminating evidence of the two, so Michael can gain leverage over Willow for full custody of their children. once and for all. Jacinda notes how Chase definitely has a savior and white knight syndrome going on.
During Willow and Chase’s chat at the boathouse, the subject turns to how Chase was demoted at the PCPD in his efforts to help get Willow acquitted of attempted murder charges at her trial for the shooting of Drew. He has since gone from detective to patrolman. However, Willow comes up with an idea! Why doesn’t he come to work for her as her chief of staff. Willow feels he would be perfect, because he is only one of the only people she can trust.

WILLOW LAYS OUT THE BENEFITS OF CHASE ACCEPTING HER JOB OFFER
A surprised Chase, says he isn’t qualified, but Willow thinks otherwise. She urges him to consider the position she is offering, because it would give him a more regular schedule that would be befitting for him being a new father to baby Phoebe.
Chase’s want to know why it was so important to Willow that he take the job, she continues to explain how she trusts him, but Tracy (Jane Elliot) spots the two in a close moment and hides behind the boathouse. Willow exits, but asks Chase to promise he will think over her offer.
Next, Tracy threatens Chase that this is the last time he will cheat on her granddaughter, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). Knowing he didn’t “cheat” on his wife, Chase looks pissed off.
So, can you imagine, Chase as Willow’s Chief of Staff? Weigh-in if you think he will be stupid enough to take this job knowing the issues it would cause for Brook Lynn?
