On the latest episode of their That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford Podcast, The Stone Cold and the Jackal duo of Bradford Anderson (Spinelli, GH) and Steve Burton, discuss for the first time, Steve’s upcoming appearance in the summer streaming limited-series, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem (Part Two), on Peacock.

Burton made headlines when it was revealed that the former Jason Morgan of General Hospital signed on to appear on the DAYS streamer. Steve actually started his daytime career on Days of our Lives back in 1988 in the role of Harris Michaels, which Burton confirms he is playing again on the podcast.

Additionally, Steve shared how he was contacted to be part of the limited-series, “Marni Saitta, (Days) casting director, who I have known for years, she kind of messaged me months ago, and she said, ‘Hey! Would you be in interested in doing a limited-series … and it’s for the Peacock … it’s a spin-off for DAYS?'”

Later, Burton said he had a meeting with DAYS Co-EP, Albert Alarr, who Steve worked with during his career as a director, and shared: “He goes look, ‘I can’t give you specifics yet … this is what the parameters of the character would be and we haven’t fleshed it out, yet.  Would you be opposed to playing a bad guy?” Burton said they had a great conversation and shook hands.  Now, whether Burton’s revived Harris Michaels will be a bad guy or not on the streaming series, is yet to be seen.

Steve went on to say, he was able to talk with DAYS head writer, Ron Carlivati about the limited series too: “They (Ron and Albert) thought it would be cool to bring back Harris Michaels. since I started my daytime career.  It just brought back floods of memories to me.” Back in the late 80’, Burton worked with Charlotte Ross (Ex-Eve Donovan ) and Scott Reeves (Ex- Jake Hogansen).

Two other intriguing points mentioned during the podcast:  Steve shared he got to work in some scenes with Kristian Alfonso (Hope), who he attributed to helping him connect with the material, and that to not expect him to be in any ‘one note’ wardrobe like  GH’s Jason Morgan in his black t-shirts, sharing, “There’s a lot of wardrobe, multiple outfits.”

Make sure to check out the latest, That’s Awesome podcast for more of the conversation between Bradford and Steve.

DOOL: Beyond Salem drops Monday July 11th for 5 episodes through July 15th exclusively on Peacock!

Yet ANOTHER Steve Burton story this week. What is that, 3? 4? He and Maurice Benard monopolize(d) GH and the columns as well. I wish I understood the appeal.

Soaphound…I am with you on trying to figure Sony and Jason appeal. Add to them Carly.

I watch GH mostly for those three; they make their roles exciting and edge of the seat special! Change the characters- lose me…!

I hope Jason will return in a shocking episode on general hospital I don’t like the way he left out Juanita and I like him and Sam together thank you

Besides Jason and Sonny really makes the show he is Sonny’s wingman

Yes I used to be on edge just waiting to see the next episode now it’s just ok!! Nothing special

I agree General Hospital should have found a way to keep Jason. It really feels so different not the same appeal anymore!!

Maybe he doesn’t want to come back for personal reasons I saw a pic of his family with the baby and the baby had Curtis face if it’s a joke ok if not I don’t blame him I couldn’t work with someone who slept with my spouse after all the yrs we were together I would want to do things I shouldn’t seems odd someone would do that to Steve’s family and to curtis

Not the same without him

That’s sad because the appeal is so obvious. Two sexy guys and two awesome actors. They bring suspense and a needed bit of excitement to PC.

Yet ANOTHER Steve Burton story this week. What is that, 3? 4? He and Maurice Benard monopolize(d) GH and the columns as well. I wish I understood the appeal.

Harris Michaels was such a minor character back in the day, it’s hard to believe they would make him a big part of this new story. I was thinking Steve would be an entirely new character. Some rumors were circulating that he would be a Peter Blake recast. Thank all that’s unholy that didn’t happen. Steve looks nothing like that guy anyway.

Now if only they would bring back the REAL Eve Donovan along with him. Never want to see that fake abomination again though.

It would be great if this turned into something more permanent on Days for Steve! Because I don’t have anything against the guy and would like him to have work. But I don’t have any use for Jason on “GH” and am glad the character is gone.

Sorry but Jason is the best

I agree

I agree hopping he comes back

Well? I am neither hopping or hoping that he comes back. I don’t miss Jason at all.

Wishing him all the best with this new venture.

I want only the best for you.Praying for you and your family. I think general hospital won’t have the rating without you but best to you and you are my favorite

Hey, DOOL! Please keep those fun, BEYOND SALEM specials coming!

I will watch him wherever he lands. Wish GH would would get their act together and bring him back as Jason.

I agree I boycotted General Hospital as soon as I found out that they had gotten rid of Steve.

If I had Peacock I’d watch too. I really miss the character of Jason on GH and I’m hoping he can return soon.

so do I- it’s just not the same

Love Steve Burton, can’t wait to see him in this , miss him so much on GH.

If Days hired him that says a lot about GH it’s crazy how they let him go vaccinated or not you can still get Covid!

Of course you can, vaccinated or not, but I can tell you as a high-risk individual, knowing someone on set refused to do the right thing in protecting themselves and their co-workers would not sit well with me. Disney-ABC has their vaccine mandate properly and rightfully in place, and as the proper result, Steve Burton is OUT. It’s how it works. If Corday Productions hired him, it says more about them than Disney-ABC. I’d rather work for Disney-ABC than Corday right now.

GH didn’t let Steve go. Disney, who owns GH, did. I’m sure GH didn’t want to lose him.

Yep! Elaine

Jason needs come back to gh fans are not happy with out him and gh ratings most likely go down especially with the Nina and sonny gross and show evil wins not cool

I am glad that Steve Burton has work. I don’t watch Days, however I will watch this spin off because of Mr. Steve Burton.

I’ve never watched it before either but I will because of Steve Burton

I wish Jason comes back to GH. We are so sad and unhappy he’s gone. I hope he comes back to
GH. But I wish him all the luck what he does.
He’s a great actor.

I am just waiting for Jason to return to general hospital. He is just to good not to be able to return. The character he has created is so very good. I wish him well.

I am disappointed that Steve Burton is doing days of our life. I really like him playing Jason Morgan og General hospital.

No thanks. Ken Corday has continued to be questionable in his decision re: COVID-19 and the hiring of Steve Burton further cements his position.

Steve Burton needs to return to GH the show is not the same without Jason Morgan

Dex is an informant. Sonny is so “whipped” he can’t see what’s happening right in front of him.(i.e. Ms. Think She’s In Control-Nina, looks like everything is going her way, but hold on to your seats. Nina’s ship is about to explode. It’s time for the table to turn and give Carlie, Michael and everyone else who felt the raft of Ms Think She’s In Control, satisfaction and a fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is! It’s well I ver due for Nina to feel some good f the pain she has put everyone else through from her manipulating, uncaring selfish actions keeping Sonny away from his family. Or- Somebody please wake Sonny up. Is he still unconscious in the fire at Lenny and Phyllis place?

BossLady…I’m finally going to say it…I think Carly, Michael and Willow, etcs reaction to Sonny’s-year-away has been an over reaction. Not saying they shouldn’t have felt some pain. But compared to some of what Carly has done over the years. Really? And Michael and Willow for how they deceived Chance?

I agree, Rose. And let’s not forget that Sonny was Mike for three to four months before Nina stumbled upon him. The first thing she did upon seeing him was call the big mouth who immediately started screaming at Nina, not letting her get a word in. Michael and Willow are insufferable. It’s like watching the Karen and Karen show.

Boss lady that’s what I’m thinking. There’s something weird about him. He’s just to anxious to get a job with Sonny. I think Sonny’s lost he’s edge and he’s lost without Jason. The shows not the same without Jason.

Steve Burton needs to come back to gh soon. Sonny needs someone to straighten him out and Jason is totally the man for the job.

Not going to happen.

As a fan of GH plaese bring Jason back, the show is not the same.
Jason is truely missed

GH just not the same without Jason and sure don’t want to see anyone take his place. He made the Soap!

I am curious to see Steve in other shows. I love him as Jason and I hate he left. I am a big fan. I don’t blame him for leaving I don’t believe in the stupid vaccine mandates. I won’t get it either. I don’t believe it’s safe. Good luck Steve. Hope to see you back os Jason in the future.

I never did understand why women like murderers and serial killers. That’s all Jason was… a brain damaged thug. He never wanted to be more. He put his murdering people for Sonny ahead of everything: family, friends, love interests, children … everyone!!

25 years of that (with a merciful break of a few years) was more than enough!!

I agree, Galbrecht. And the hypocrisy of people like Sam and the Corinthos Clan in the way they used to condemn Julian Jerome (pre-bomb) was sickening.

Thank you, Galbrecht. It is kind of creepy the way the character is adored by so many. I mean, a brain-damaged, emotionless, killer who always puts his crime lord boss first… every woman’s dream? Ugh.

He is a great actor….I wish him the best and his family too.

Great actor…hope to see him soon.wish him the best and his family too.

Days of our Lives Star, Greg Vaughan, Gives Health Update and Thanks Everyone for Their Support

Greg Vaughan (Eric, Days of our Lives, ex-Lucky, GH, and ex-Diego, Y&R) provided an update on his health on Sunday, March 17th. Vaughan had previously shared that he had become ill during a trip with his sons to Colorado, and had developed altitude sickness when he was having trouble breathing accompanied by terrible headaches and landed in the urgent care.

Now on St. Patrick’s Day, Greg took to his Instagram and shared how he is feeling now, and to thank everyone for their love and support.  As it turned out, Vaughan was diagnosed with high altitude pulmonary edema, commonly known as HAPE. However, he is on the mend slowly and surely.

In his new video post, the DAYS favorite started by expressing, “I just felt such an appreciation and gratitude for everything. . reaching out. Your prayers have been felt. It’s been a struggle, but I’m over the top. And, taking this moment just to say I didn’t realize the things that I was going through. My (original) post was simply just to educate, put some information out there and some things that I was feeling, just share that information and the struggle that I was going through, which I didn’t quite understand. And it wasn’t because I’m stubborn or just because I’m a father, a man, and didn’t want to go to a doctor. It is just something I thought was so minor that I could overcome it, just by taking care of myself.”

The Daytime Emmy winner then revealed his actual diagnosis, “So, basically my situation was high altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE). With some good friends, doctors that had reached out to me, it kind of gave me some understanding on the aftermath, which was very, very beneficial.”

“But I’ve been resting, taking care of myself even though I live in a hamster wheel,” said the dad of three teenaged boys. “I gotta get up and, you know, do my normal domesticated stuff, eventually. I’m tired of laying down in this bed, but, I am feeling much better.”

Photo: GVaughanIG

Talking on his confusion of trying to understand what could have been ailing him, Vaughan expressed, “I couldn’t quite figure it out, even though I was emphasizing and professing to my children going on our spring break getaway about hydration. I professed it. But, even though I was acting on it, it had a greater effect on me, and for which I did not even think, because my head was such in pain, and I was in a very bad state of mind – not being able to be out there with my kids on the mountain, enjoying their time, as well. I thought I was doing the right thing. Unfortunately, my lungs were full of fluids and my head was in severe pain and even migraine pills didn’t even help. So, I just want anybody that goes into the Colorado Mountains to know, it is no joke. It is this very serious thing which I guess is why they call it the Mile High City.”

Greg had a mountain of ‘thank you’s’ to give for the outreach he received from his original post, “For everybody internationally, wherever you are, I love you and I appreciate you and just the time and the thoughts that you’ve shared with me,” said Vaughan. “I didn’t realize that it would make such an impression on so many people around the world. I feel tremendously loved and I can’t say it enough. I’m good. And I appreciate you.”

Photo: GVaughanIG

The actor concluded his video with, “To all the family and friends that have reached out to me, man, it means the world. So take care of yourself, enjoy your spring break with your families. It’s Saint Patty’s Day, obviously. I wish I could be out there.” Vaughan added, “I feel loved and touched and I can’t emphasize that enough. I’ll take better care of myself, promise you will do the same.” Before he signed off, Greg shared, “Just know, that I’m alive and well and breathing, and I’m sore. So, be well, take care. I mean it. Thank you, tremendously.”

Glad to know that Greg has been on the mend, and shared his appreciation for everyone that reached out to him during this trying time? Comment below.

Days of our Lives Star Greg Vaughan Shares Sudden Health Scare: “I Truly Feel Like I Work & Live in a Soap Opera!”

What started out as an adventure with his sons, quickly turned into a nightmare for Days of our Lives Daytime Emmy winner, Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady).

In a series of Instagram posts, Vaughan shared the sudden health crisis he found himself in.  The images show Greg with an oxygen tank to help him breathe.

The actor began to fill people, sharing, “I’ve said more than a few times, I truly feel like I work & live in a Soap Opera! 🤪 this trip was nothing short of another great Vaughan adventure!”

He went on to say that on a father and son Colorado spring break trip, he began to feel shortness of breath, feeling tired and with a headache and after two days of hoping he would feel better, Vaughan finally went to an Urgent Care to get checked out.

Photo: GVaughanIG

“I finally surrendered & went to urgent care and to my shock I learned that I was experiencing severe altitude sickness.” Vaughan admitted. “My Blood Oxygen was at 54% & my lungs were full of fluids! Blood oxygen, also known as oxygen saturation, represents the percentage of hemoglobin in your red blood cells that is carrying oxygen. Most people have an oxygen level of 95-100%….”

Providing more detail to his health scare, Greg shared, “Well, 4hrs later, a couple of bags of IV & oxygen tank strapped to my face, I was told that I needed to immediately get off the mountain! However I couldn’t, we still had another day to go & wanting the boys to enjoy their last day on the hill tops! I opted to go home with an oxygen tank, a good laugh for everyone, and I know will follow, but my boys looked after their old man & fortunately they had friends on this trip!”

Photo: JPI

The experience of altitude sickness in the Colorado Rockies gave Vaughan a bit of a new perspective, “In all seriousness, no matter your age, and all the times I’ve ⛷️ & 🏂 in my lifetime, Colorado Rockies is no joke! As they say, ‘ take a breathe and smell the roses!’ That is truly something we need to remember & appreciate! #recover”

Share your well-wishes to Greg as he continues to be on the mend via the comment section below.
