This week on the number one soap opera The Young and the Restless, Marco (Fake Jack as played by Peter Bergman) wants to keep his true identity of a Peruvian drug lord a secret, and the one person who knows all is the man that created this heinous plot against Jack Abbott … Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)

In a new promo for this week’s action in Genoa City from CBS Daytime, Fake Jack continues to  act out in ways that the real Jack’s sister Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Jack’s wife Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) can’t comprehend!

Then, Fake Jack decides its time to eliminate the enemy  … Victor himself, and the tables are turned!  We bet ole’ Vic never suspected that the man he brought into do his dirty work, would double cross him like this!

Watch Y&R’s latest promo after the jump.   Then let us know how Victor might be able to stop Marco from killing him?

Who cares? We all know that Victor never gets what he deserve.. He has always gotten away with everything. No one will ever know what he did to Jack!!! I believe the writers are afraid to write lines to make Victor pay for any underhanded thing he has done afraid he might quit. Look at what happened to him with the Cassie double storyline (Nothing), and everyone knew what he did and nothing happene to him. So if you are rich you are above the law!!!! I hope this storyline is over soon, Pleaseeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

Amen. Haven’t watched this show in a good two or three weeks (I have been watching since 1981) because of this story line and the show just being BLAH!!!

Trust me, turning to CNN and watching “Legal View with Ashleigh Banfield” is 10x more entertaining.

Vic is pure evil but I love the actor. He does have a big ego and lots of control over his character. I bet he will finally be knocked down and have to rebuild after eating his humble pie BUT he will rise to the top again! I love Peter Bergman’s Marco because we NEVER see Victor’s back against the wall. This to me is the summer story to watch. Everything else is filler.

I agree, Timm.
It is fun watching Dr. FrankenVic’s monster turn on him.
If I were Victor I would tell Marco that he has left information in a safe deposit box which will reveal his true identity and which will be opened in the event of his death. I would not reveal to whom this safety deposit box was left to in order to protect that person.
Well, that is what I would do anyway.

I do agree with that, Timmm and Harry. I think it is interesting to watch the almighty Victor Newman being brought down a peg or two by the one whose life Victor “saved” from certain death….even worse, torture.
Nonetheless, I find the not-so-minor storylines revolving around Jack/Marco/Victor are not to be swept under the rug. Today, for instance, the scene/dialogue between Chelsea and Gabe/Adam was the most momentous yet. Hartley is such a superlative actor, I felt his pain, his regrets.
The question Chelsea posed…., ‘You lied about your identity, so, would you lie again to get what you want?”…..(paraphrasing). I don’t know, but to me, that was such a loaded, gripping question because that is exactly what Adam is doing. He knows how much she loves him; not just the memory of him and their life, but also the fact that she aches for her son’s lack of his Daddy. I ask; knowing all this, why can Adam not tell her the truth? Chelsea would never turn on him.
Thus, I can only surmise that, again, the writers are prolonging the non-existent suspense.
I would hope that after the Marco storyline is done, and both Victor, Marco, and Jack are dead,(lol) the truth surrounding Delia’s death emerges and Adam and his little family can go on with their lives. Too simplistic? LOL. Well, I’m a girl….I like looking at things with rose-colored lenses.

Com’on.. nobody takes down Victor, ever..
Fake Jack will meet his demise..
Real Jack will come be back and pitied
ALL will be on poor Jack’s side, even the Newman clan
Victor will twist and turn it, he always has a ”recovery” plan..
As bad as it will look for Victor he will rise and never lose, in the in Victor is the Victor !

ya’ll are being Pratt trolled lol
He will have ya all giggly that Victor went down, but ahhha not true !

Hi su0000, can you answer a question for me? I am confused. I thought Sage and Gabe had to stay married to get their inheritance. They had a guy watching them to see if they were really in love. Gabe says screw this and doesnt care about millions of dollars and walks away.. Okay but I heard Sage say that she was getting her inheritance and wasnt after Nick’s money. How is Sage still getting her money and Gabe is not. HELP!

Since no one answered your question yet, I will– Sage was given a bequest from Constance in her will for being her personal assistant all those years. Since she was in love with the real Gabe and he suggested they get marry so he could get the estate as per the will, she agreed. But he died shortly thereafter trying to save Adam, so it was Sage who came up with the idea to replace Gabe with Adam– at that time she felt she deserved the money and without a Gabe she wouldn’t get her share of the big score.

She sprung the marriage thing on Adam only when he was about to leave, until then he had no idea about the arrangement Sage and the real Gabe had. Then Sage fell in love with Nick and suddenly the money wasn’t an issue, because Nick is super rich too right? So she ditched Adam/Gabe–she was the one who ended the marriage and blew his chance at the estate, not Adam; now she with Nick. Of course she is saying she doesn’t care about the money because she got some from Constance– which she does, but whatever she got it wasn’t as much as she could of have with Gabe/Adam, and definitely not as much as she will get as the mother of another Newman grandchild–

Can you tell, I think she a gold digger and never change her ways at all–LOL. Anyway I hope that clears it up for you.

@Mary SF, thank you, yes I see Sage for who she really is now!

Hey, Timmm.
Mary gave you a top-notch explanation. Except for one ‘minor’ detail. I firmly stand by my original belief; that is, the baby is Adam’s. Making this child Nick’s is just too easy, in my opinion.

I agree, Victor will wiggle out of this one too.
I’m thinking Marco will end up getting killed and Victor will claim he was fooled like everyone else. I also think that Kyle will turn on Marco and Victor will be cleared of any embezzlement charges.
I think EB & PB are having a lot of fun with this SL.

ENOUGH OF THIS GARBAGE!!!

CAN ANYONE SAVE THIS MESS?!? ANYONE?!?

wow we all know the real jack will be back…….. would anyone know what happened to lenny mcnab who won food nekwork star last year they never did give him a show …. we have to keep watching and enjoying to keep the soaps on the air days 4 ever there both good shows y/r too

If only fake Jack would turn the gun on himself. Then Pratt can check a suicide storyline off his plot driven to do list.

Pratt is the worst thing to happen to this show.

So Victor has gotten himself in quite a pickle! Did Vic not think this plan through? Or perhaps it was the writers who didn’t think this through. I’m ready for this plot to end.

Just as I suggested that the Fluke story evolved day-to-day (having many vehemently naysay my words, then later proved true), so is now the Marco/Jack/Victor storyline. The writers are adding scenes as they go along. The new girl is an afterthought….Kelly’s death was an afterthought…..Ashley’s ridiculous aneurism was a last minute stupid brainstorm, serving no real purpose. Now, I propose that Joe and Lily will end up in bed together…..it never ends. They’re like rabid dogs.
One thing that truly irritates me is that whenever a couple has an argument, one of them always ends up cheating on the other. Sigh!!

Lily is amusing the hell out of me with her bitch on wheels act. I never cared for her and enjoy her playing the petulant, monstrous, spoiled brat. The actress is terrible which only fuels the comedic appeal of her tantrums.

Maybe so, Harry. Lily does rub me the wrong way, also. However, she has every right to act the bitch, in this instance. She is up against the town floozy. If you remember, Cain went berserk when Tyler and Lily kissed. It is only natural to go-over-the-top-mad. I would have done something much worse to my husband than scream at him…LOL.

Oh absolutely, Cee Cee. Lily has every right to be in a state of abject fury! If you are a woman, and you befriend and become close to a married man, you damn well better befriend and be close to the wife. That’s cardinal rule Lauren is breaking and Colin is too soft to assert his boundaries with her. However, even before this odd friendship, Lily was acting like a shrew when it came to trusting Cane. And she isn’t playing this very wisely. The public temper tantrum she threw in her place of business was just stupid and immature. Hasn’t she ever heard of a self-fulfilling prophesy? She gets to be angry but she doesn’t get to play her hand so badly.
And suddenly she is running around in a God-awful ugly jumpsuit which looks like the 80’s threw up all over it.
Yes, Lily is justified this time. However, I just get a big ole grin on my face when she starts stomping her feet while ranting and raving. More please.

@Harr.
Lol, Harry. You have such a knck…no, wait…it’s more of a gift, for putting things in perspective making accept anything you say. And, so funny, you leave me speechless. Lily is a shrew, alright! I liked her better with Daniel.
What I came away from yesterday’s episode, though……in a profile shot, I noticed that Christel/Lily had herself a nose job…..lol….look closely, Harry. That bumpy hook just vanished. Looks good.

@Harry….looks like I’m missing some letters in my last post…sorry…in a hurry. My little whirlwind, munchkin son is home from school. LOL.

Ashley recovering overnight from brain surgery was ridiculous. NOBODY does that. They didn’t even shave her hair at the surgical spot.
Someone really dropped the ball on that one.

@Sammie.
Oh, you’re right about that. I was always under the impression that writers always used some medical reference when any illness is involved. There is always a period of convalescence after any surgery….some more than others…depending on the surgery and the healing process of the patient. But this? And why? What purpose did this sudden malady and surgery serve?
Nothing makes sense to me. One of our fellow-posters indicated that it was an aneurism….almost dismissing the life-threatening incident . It does not matter , it is still brain surgery. No one gets discharged the morning after. NO ONE. There is a certain protocol to be followed. You know?
Then, there’s Jake and his double…..even if Marco and Jack look exactly the same, down to their toenails, this does not include having the same gestures and traits. Jack does that ugly thing with his bottom lip…sucks it in when angry. Well, so does Marco. Some of these characteristics are acquired, on inherited. What, they acquired the same characteristics living miles and miles away from each other?
The writers do not think things through…they’re like children trying their hand in writing their first story for Teacher….sorry, I do go on and on and on…

I pulled it from my DVR two months ago but today I was home and working in my office I turned it on and I was so sad after the show ended it is just awful. Ashley up walking around like she had just went to the spa for the day. Everybody acting like a Pod from Invasion of The Body Snatchers. What a shame that CBS/Sony would let Phelps and Pratt take this show to such a level I do not think it can ever come back. Oh it will probably stay Number 1 because some habits are hard to break but it is not the show I use to watch.

This writing is so up and down. I am enjoying two Jacks and Victor getting his dues but I hate that they either put a super rush on Ashley’s recovery or they scraped it? VERY bad writing.

That is why I gave up on this show months ago. I don’t recognize this show anymore.

I understand the expression “sweet irony” is overly used, but, what else can I say? “From even the greatest of horrors is irony seldom absent.” Fyodor Destoyevsky. Soooo…..SWEET IRONY!!!!!!
Thus, inasmuch as I hate Marco, it soothes the soul to have Victor have a taste of his own venom….bitter pill to swallow when the tables are turned.
I surely hope this stupid debacle’s end is approaching, …..lickety split. Jack will return and lo and behold!…..he will kill both Victor and Bruno, then kill himself….two birds and a ‘foul’ with one stone. ( no, I do not mean fowl; I mean foul, as in a non- existent fake Jack).
I did catch a little sadness (or was it guilt?) envelop Victor’s despicably negative aura, though. Is he showing some kind of emotion toward Jack? He does think the real Jack is dead, right? But, I am sure Jack and the girl jumped ship before it exploded. I love it ….true soap opera fare, it is!!!! Just let it be over soon, please.

I like Marco, a diabolical soap character
Victor is my favorite and he will remain King of The Hill !!!
I hope there is a shoot out and Sharon takes a deadly bullet or two 🙂

Victor and Jack are in a love hate relationship, they make each other what they are..
Neither will ever be killed off, they need each other to survive ..

I like Pratt !!!

Lol, Su. Just ‘gotta’ love-ya!!

ITA, I love what pratt is doing, there’s been some missteps but nothing like the previous writers.
Sharon popping up pregnant is hysterical, she’s just jealous that Sage is preggers and moved in with Nick.
She will either be going through menopause or she is working a plot and may steal Sage’s baby, she’s not really pregnant, bet on it.
That DNA lab sure gets a lot of business from the two families. lol

Sorry, y’ll. I meant kill Marco. I don’t really know where ‘Bruno’ came from…LOL.

Quoting my hero, Dostoevsky? A girl after my own heart. And the quote actually fits perfectly here, Cee Cee.
On another note, could they not find a more age appropriate love interest for Peter Bergman? That girlfriend of Marco’s is young enough to be Bergman’s granddaughter.
I am not all hung up on age, however, their age disparity is so glaring that it makes Jack/Marco look rather ridiculous. Bergman is already paired up with Gina (Phyllis) and she’s a good twenty-five years younger than he is. This girl is even younger than Gina.

Lol, Harry. Destoyevsky does hit the proverbial nail on the head….never misses.
I think a perfect mate for Jack would be Daisy Duke/Anita/Catherine Bach.
Jack has a son in his forties (Kemo), for goodness sake!!
I am sure Peter is uncomfortable playing these youthful roles…..it is the writers who should know better!

*sigh*

Love Peter Bergman and Jack Abbot. Not loving this story line so much.

The one time I was rooting for Marco was when he smacked smug Kyle upside his head.

I loved that too! Kyle is snotty rich kid. I really cracked up when he smacked him the second time. lol

We all know Victor is not going to die, at least not at the hands of a drug lord he hired to pose as Jack. I bet that the whole “the enemy of my enemy of my friend” concept is going to come into play here, where Jack and Marco will team up against Victor and try to expose his plan.

However, Marco’s plan of framing Victor for embezzlement and taking over both Jabot and Newman is something the real Jack would totally do as well. After all, he did try to frame Victor for forgery way back when with the diary.

I really hope this story doesn’t span out the entire summer, though, because it’s been a few months and I’m already growing tired of how outlandish and non-traditional to Y&R this story is. I also hope that Marco doesn’t turn out to be Jack’s “evil twin” because of how overdone that plot is.

hi Jimmy..
ummm sorry to mention this but-
this story is in the middle..
After Jack returns, Marco gone, there is much lashback coming from it..
It will run til fall, for sure
after all it is the big story of the Y&R year ..

Yeah, a really big ‘shew’. Such a big story, it missed its mark….left me with a bitter taste in my mouth…love your very fitting sarcasm, Su. LOL…..Good, little post.

Jack did do it once before. Remember when he asked nick for the PW to victor’s computer and the dope gave it to him? Then he changed all the figures to make it look like Victor was crashing the company.
Didn’t work then, won’t work now. lol

I want to know how Phyllis is going to explain to Jack how she couldn’t tell the difference between Marco and him.

That very obvious question will NEVER be asked.

They’ll just coo at each other with no mention of the “pesky” details such as Marco’s sexual performance.

Hey, Linda.
I don’t know if you watch Days, but, the same thing happened with Sami and Rafe. Stefano ‘gifted’ Sami with RoboRafe. They did ‘it’ over and over and she never knew….these storylines are so ridiculous, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Such an insult to our intelligence. What woman does not know every inch of her man’s body?
The writers just copy each other….no imagination. It gets very tiresome.

I know I have said this before, ad nauseam….TPTB need to come to grips with the fact that Peter/Jack is too old to be placed in a young man’s suit of armor. His skin looks terrible with all that reddish matte on his face. His swashbuckling days are over…..
Furthermore, Gina/Phyllis looks like his daughter, not his wife….she is THAT young.
Thank God, the writers have stopped steering Victor towards any romantic episodes…even with Nikki. Ugh!!!

Thank you Cee Cee!! I’m no ageist but come on Pratt, and all Y&R writers before him-PB is 62 years old & they write him like a horny teen!! Just months ago he was sexing up Kelly, (CM 45) on his couch at Jabot & running home to Phyllis (GT 41). Now 1 Jack wasn’t enough for Pratt so he writes him as Marco, intl drug lord, complete w/flashbacks of Marco with a mustache boinking a young girl named Marisa (according to IMDB the actress was born 7/31/89 which makes her 25!!) and now he is hitting on Chelsea (MEG 34)!!

This will probably get deleted but Peter’s peter must be very tired!!

Lol, Linda….love your post. Thankfully it did not get ‘eaten’ by the moderator pulverizers.
My sentiments exactly! As a matter of fact, Peter and other young, hunky men, appeared on one of the talk shows (I can’t remember which). Said soap actors, as guests, supposedly represented THE HUNKIEST MEN ON DAYTIME. I was blown away when I saw Peter as one of the ‘hunky’ panel. WHAAAAAT!!??!!??
At this point in his life, Peter’s youthful and ebullient romantic career should be given its last rites.
Settle him down, writers! Give him a respectful role that is his due….starting with a wife his own age.

@Laurie.
I could not resist…..Marco told Phyllis he loved another woman a lifetime ago, having met her in S. America as he was doing work for his presumed father, John Abbot. Yikes!!!! Manuela???
Well, the girl/woman was not even born a lifetime ago. Peter is passed his prime. He is no stud.

LOL … CeeCee and Laurie – I needed a good laugh today!

@abruzzfan.
LOL…I am glad Laurie and I put a smile on your face and laughter in your heart. We all need a dose of that. Ciao.

I agree with all of you, and guess what? I would wager Peter Bergman agrees with you too. He cannot be happy being romantically paired up with a girl almost forty years younger than he is.
If you read his interviews where he speaks lovingly of his wife to whom he’s been married for over thirty years, you will see he’s really a gentleman who is not at all full of himself.
I don’t think he likes this one bit and it probably makes him uncomfortable.

Oh yes if that is played out right.. he should be pissed, she got raped over & over again because of Victor WOW Maybe now she will feel sorry for Sharon who has been Victor’s punching bag for so long even though he knows she has an illness.

If she truly KNEW her husband, there would have been no rape, as it is, the rape is mutual.
Remember when Jack couldn’t tell that the lady dr, Emily or whatever, was really crazypants patty! lol

Victor….take FJ to GCAC for breakfast…..order him some “banana pancakes “

Hahahaha!

Sammie your so right. I forgot about the lady doctor. Her name was Emily wasn’t it.

LOL. They must be Chiquita bananas, though, vinman…..so funny!!

There are so many things about this story to complain about, but the biggest one for me is the characters never learn from their mistake. Honestly, Victor thought he could control deranged Patty Williams, and he ended up with a bullet in his heart and sweet Colleen dead, one would think he learned his lesson. But nooooo, now he has hired a dangerous drug lord and he gets miffed because the guy will not follow his instruction— duh couldn’t see that coming? it would be funny it wasn’t so pathetic. Perhaps he will shoot Victor, but I doubt if Victor will die, or maybe he will pretend to die– he hasn’t done that in the last two years, so it must time for another fake funeral.

I can’t understand TPTB; this is the kind of stuff MAB was doing and they canned her for it, so why go in that direction yet again. I can put up with this nonsense when I see characters actually learning from it, but when I see the same characters doing the same things over and over and over–it makes the whole story pointless, which I suspect why many have just given up. You expect that kind of thing on the Simpsons but even poor Homer shown more emotional growth over the years than Victor.

What bothers me worse than the doppelganger himself is how he came to be. This is ridiculously cruel even for Victor. I don’t like when writers eliminate a character’s boundaries. Victor can still be cocky, egotistical & an asshat, jealous prick w/o resorting to this. It’s just Pratt’s straight ego writing Victor at this point, IMO. He just wants to be more shocking & drastic than all the writers before him. I think that we are supposed to be empathic with Victor now that he is “sad” Jack is “dead”, like death is WORSE than the torture he laid upon him: sticking Jack w/bat wielding, rapist Kelly, Yack raping Phyllis & probably killing his grandchildren’s significant others, taking Jack away from family & friends. Jack’s death is Victor’s limit? REALLY? OK. The brilliant Victor used Tobias & Kelly to move his ridiculous plan forward? OK.

I also don’t care for the history of this doppelganger. I wish he had left the drug lord part out & the 62 yo drug lord w/the 25 yr old lover is ridiculous even for a soap!! On the other hand, I love Luke’s history on GH & didn’t mind it revisited, even if the s/l was ridiculous at times. Still, is it bad to want Marco to stick around and want Victor to die?

As I said they are lots things to complain about this story, and you hit on a number of them. I agree Victor being upset Jack is dead is bit lame– of course he could be upset like a cat is upset when the mouse it was “playing” with dies because it stopped moving and is no longer fun to flip in air, rather than empathy over the death of the creature it was tormenting. Victor used to accuse Adam of being a psychopath, but I have to wonder if Victor isn’t one himself, because he seems to have no conscience or empathy for those he goes after.
However I disagree with the notion that Pratt is being more shocking than previous writers– I find this is just a redo of the whole Patty Williams looking like Jack’s girlfriend story– and that one was a lot better and believable than this one. For example, Paul stated that there were no pictures of this drug lord- that the FBI, didn’t have a clue what he looked like, yet Victor somehow knew this drug lord was a dead ringer for Jack– I mean how the hell did he find that out if there were no pictures?

As for the age difference between Marco and his girlfriend that is par for the course- ageism is alive and well in Hollywood. It is okay for men to get older, but not the women. If she was his lover years ago, what was she 13 at the time– of course the actress could be older than she looks, but still, there are lots of beautiful older Latino ladies who could have played her.

Everything you said, and then some, Laurie. If Pratt’s intention is to shock? Well, I can accept that, but, do it in a credible and entertaining way. I, personally, do not find this storyline interesting…not one bit. Perhaps if Peter’s character(s) were played by a different, younger actor, the storyline would be more ‘passable’.
As Mary has so eloquently stated, ageism has no meaning in Hollywood, especially when the man is much older. But, this is a soap existing in the Mid-West, and not too realistic. As I stated, a lifetime ago for Marco is certainly not the same lifetime as Manuela’s.
As far as ageism is concerned? Well, some women are fine becoming intimate with old men…..I could not, “lay, lady, lay…” with an old man for all the money in the world. I would actually, literally vomit. Think Larry King! Think Hugh Hefner!! Think J Howard Marshall!! It’s like scraping/raking fingernails on the blackboard..
N.B., Laurie…the above comment was meant for you, but I accidentally addressed it to Linda…sorry, for the confusion.

Aside from the girl’s age, this character is really not needed!

Tired of the recycled Victor gets away with everything stories. They might think they have the ratings but I’m fast forwarding through most of these crap stories which means fast forwarding through commercials. So advertisers arent getting their monies worth and we are getting the poorest writing I’ve ever seen. CBS needs to wake up to the Phelps and Pratt disaster.

This is great! I dont know why people bitch about these stories of evil twins, impostors or back from the dead characters. Its what a soap is all about. Its been like this for years. People complained about Yack. Why? Its Peter Bergman, he is a daytime legend and one hell of an actor. I knew this was going to be good. People, be patient! Jack is alive. He will come home with his new love. Marco thinks they are both dead. Will Jack and Marco team up? Will Jack fall for Marisa? Will Marco double cross Jack and try and kill him and Victor? Will Adam save Jack or Victor? Can Summer shut the hell up!

Well, Timm, just because soaps do this doesn’t mean it’s good. It doesn’t mean that fans like it. Fans like me just put up with it. Well, I take that back, I FF real Jack out on the boat with the 25yo that is supposed to be Marco’s love of his life. Strangely though, I don’t mind Marco’s scenes (just not his flashbacks.) Sometimes folks (like me) forget that they don’t represent all fan’s & I’m glad some fans (like you) like the s/l.

You are correct-Peter Bergman is a great actor. Tony Geary is a great actor too but I got sick of Fluke more than once & hit FF on him as well. I DID, however, enjoy Vicki/Nicki on OLTL but I didn’t wanna see her for months and months at a time. I personally would rather see big, sweeping, unrealistic love stories that used to be soap staples than doppelganger’s but to each their own. LOL.

Hey.. I’m luvin Marco!!
I like the character, he doesn’t bore me for one thing .. 🙂
about time Y&R got a drama boost !

Yes Laurie there is something for everyone on the show. I bet you like the Marco scenes because thats how Jack SHOULD react to Victor’s bullying!

Oh how I agree with the last statement. Where the hell is Marah & Kevin? Why are we back to having Summer on every day? Aunt Avery is leaving Genoa City how about she takes Summer with her so she doesn’t get lonely. How about more of Mark Harding? Are those kids at the cabin really dead?

Oh and one more thing I had a relative with a brain tumor. Surgery is not that quick, your head is shaved & wrapped, and your not out going to business meetings the following day.

Love Det. Harding, hopefully those kids are dead and the tumor story is the worst!

Well to be fair she didn’t have a brain tumor it was a brain aneurysm, which is basically a blood vessel that is about to burst. Not sure of the procedure for that one , but I agree her recovery was too quick to be realistic, and it was such a pointless plot point– it came out no where, and then it was over— really silly in my books. And on a soap you never know who is really dead or not, but I believe those two characters are dead, killed by Marco because Austin when filming his doc capture images of two Jacks being in the park that night, and then Courtney saw the same images.

Timmm, you know I respect you and your very interesting and humorous comments. But, I can only stomach so many evil-twin-storylines……especially when the fare is the same boring, bland polenta served on my plate.
I regret the fact that you think I’m bitching. I just see things differently, that’s all. I have a hard time accepting plain-stupid writing. Yes, it is a soap and meant to unseat the audience, at times. But I like to see honest-to-goodness, realistic drama, tragedy, comedy thrown in there for good measure once in a while. As it is, Y&R is derailing every-which-way… Only my opinion.

I have been watching because I am loyal to Y& R. It’s better than nothing…just happy it is still on air. However, Timmm. This fact does not mean I have to like it or cannot comment on my feelings. This storyline is a complete disappointment…not what Y&R usually offers. I do not get the point. Why? To show off Peter Bergman’s prowess? He has none. He is an old man playing the part of a thirty-year-old. What’s there to love? Or, the fact that Victor is the dastardly, despicable demon? Well, what else is new? The only satisfaction I derive in this is that Victor will be singed (I wish he could burn, but I know he won’t) by the same fire he started. Victor is THE PHOENIX., rising from the ashes. So what is the point if we already know the outcome? Victor is invincible. Goody!!!!
Both Victor and Jack are two old men whose hatred for each other, for decades, should have killed them by now. But, here they are…still at it….with Victor subtly working his evil magic from the sidelines, sitting at his desk….while Jack, the ‘intrepid youth’, gallivanting throughout the globe; now with a beautiful girl who was once Bruno’s lover? Make it real. SHE IS TOO YOUNG!!! And, Peter/Jack/Marco looks his age.
Then as a topping to this gross imagery in my head, Manuela stripped Jack naked to change his clothes? Ewwwww. What a LIMPY, SAGGY thought…LOL. Please don’t hate me!!!!

LOL, again…I do not know why I keep referring to Marco as Bruno….I must pursue this. I don’t even know anyone by that name….hmmmm.

My dear CeeCee, my post said “People” bitching, not you specifically. Regardless, EVERYONE including me bitches about this story or that one, this character or that one, its what makes this site so much fun! I rarely get offended by others comments. I simply see so many inaccuracies on soaps that I just take them with a grain of salt. You make so many valid points about the Jack / Bruno [Just kidding] storyline but I like Peter and he can handle the silly material. I am entertained. I told you once before in a world where there is so much brutality and sexual judgement in the real world EVERYDAY, I like an escape and Y&R gives that to me. Peace and Love, Timmm!

@Timmm.
Thank you for your response, Timmm. I know you were speaking collectively, I am just one of the many who bitch…for good reason…LOL. most importantly, dearest, Timmm….in no way have I taken offense..?Especially from you, Timmm. I am very fond of you and I know you would never throw stones my way.
As yourself, I too love Y&R…. Not Jack/Marco or Victor, particularly….but, they are necessary evils…..and, where there’s good, there must also be evil.
Peace and love right back ‘atcha’….

Timm, my favorite part of your post was this:”Will Summer ever shut up? Stay tuned.”
That made my day.
She is driving me nuts and we all know that is a short drive for me. She was whining to her mother, to her sister and to Kyle that she feels stuck in the middle of the Abbott/Newman family feud. Then she proceeds to insert herself right smack dab in the middle of the aforementioned feud by spying on the Abbotts and by engaging in some kind of whinerboard torturing of Kyle in order to pry secrets from him. Then she runs off and tells Grandpa Mustache everything she learned. She not only gets off being in the middle, she thrives on it and goes out of her way to keep herself in that position.

whyyyyyyyy?????
of all the laziest, cheesiest plot devices must we be agonized with this drivel?
ashleys emergency was a one day crisis! boom… next day she s well! miracles of miracles! it would have been redeeming of victor to feel gulity about the stress he s causing the mother of his child and guilty for being responsible for real jacks ‘ supposed death” and nikki s stay in rehab. but noooooo we get vic stressing over pollyanna sages baby dilemma! wtf!?? sages characters totally undeveloped and useless! but instead she stays and avery who hit it out of the park with her scenes confronting joe ,gets the pink slip! such bullshit!
dont get me started at how peter bergmans portrayal of marco bears no difference from his portayal of jack! does he even know he s supposed to play a character posing as jack abbott!!!???
lame-o!! i really wish all the a list actors on y n r would call the head writer and exec out on their diarhea storys! like c mon peter, eric, christian grow some balls! im losing respect for you guys. the show can t fire you… save us from this laughable garbage called young and the restless lately

“please, kill Victor”

this would open so many doors… for cast and crew alike

MOVE

I’m actually kinda enjoying it.

At the rate this show is going they might end up on the sofa making out!! I wish I was joking. I was telling my husband yesterday that the only Newman Sharon hasn’t bedded is Victoria, so that will probably be next.

Abby, Noah, Summer

Noah’s her son so yeck. Forgot about that for a sec.

I was thinking Victor’s children. I forgot Abby was his daughter.

Lol, Mo. Yeah, Noah is Sharon’s son. Would that stop the writers? Anything is possible…Lordy, Lord, help us!!!!

Hmm…Diane. So Orange is the New Black?

Gawd…..please make it stop. I’d like nothing better than to have “Jack” take Victor out & put an end to his endless mumbling & misogyny . Every day I ask myself why I’m still torturing myself with this show. I guess that’s on me….

Amazing. The show can actually make me root for a murdering drug lord. How I wish Fack would pull the trigger on “The Great Victor Newman”. But that will never happen. The odds are more in favor of Victor dieing than him actually paying for the crap he pulls. No, Jack will come back. Victor will blackmail him with knowing the truth about Adam to force him to not press charges. Everyone will act mad at Victor for 2 seconds and then decide Jack is sooooooo much worse (because he kept Adam’s secret to save his ungrateful brother’s sorry butt). Then everyone will be mad at Jack and run back to Victor. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Y&R, believers in recycling (too bad it’s only their old storylines).

I doubt anyone will take Victor out but I would love to see him pay for all his crimes. I would love to write that story. Fake Jack with the gun Summer walk in as fake Jack shoots grandpa then kills her to hide his track.

All this tirade over how bad it is but it’s still the number one soap on the air. So this means that “someone” is watching it. I find the storyline entertaining in parts. Peter Bergman gets to stretch his acting chops again so that is good for him. I just have to throw in the old how Phyllis can’t tell the difference between Jack and “Marco”. Apparently they are twins even “vay downz zer” — puts literal meaning to “doppelganger” LOL….I just wish we could find a way to make this soap be meaningful again. It’s lost its impact. I mean exactly how slaps can Lily toss? And is it me or is Michael being mean just to be mean? Cancer or not his intentions are mean spirited towards the woman he allegedly loves. I know Michael used to be slime but never to Lauren. Victor is Victor no matter what. He has no allegiances to anyone other than himself. The rest of the Newmans are a little pathetic. We have Summer who just forgets about her grief and falls into the sack with Kyle. And she is getting a little porky looking. Maybe we ought to replace Hunter with Lindsay Lohan, no one will be able to tell the difference looks wise or acting wise. Nick with Sage is just unbelievable only because just last week that brat of a child Faith issued her proclamation that Nick had to be celibate until death. Although Faith appears to be okay with her Mommy diddling around with Dylan. What’s good for the goose is apparently not good for the gander. I love Sharon but she just tosses around from one man to the next. No wonder she is nuts. I mean seriously who exactly has she not poked? This show is just not being rational. They have two storylines: who’s the daddy and who sleeps with who’s family members? I mean seriously. They attempted a murder mystery only thing is they did it with characters no one gives a crap about. The biggest let down was Ashley’s health scare. From headaches to brain surgery to corporate intrigue in two days. That’s just carelessness. I know Pratt is known for his ridiculous plot lines but c’mon Chucky, be reasonable here, your viewers are not that stupid. When you were writing for Melrose Place, you had Kimberly have her meltdown over two seasons before you made her bomb the apartments…Let’s build a story and not be irrational about it.

My history with Y&R is only two years, so I don’t know all of the historys and baggage. Not hard to pick up on Victor though, every soap needs someone like him. And even as a rookie I can’t help but agree with you on most of your points…Peter doing a great job “mixing” it up…x-Ray, laser-eyed Phyliss about most things not figuring out it’s not Jack. I wouldn’t need to go all the way “downz zer” to know…and most of the rest you mentioned.

Everything else is soap opera predictable. Don’t like what the did with Kelly though…reminds me of what the just did with Rebecca/Hayden on GH. They bring in two good actresses, downgrade their roles, and then kill them, or put them on ice. Sage’s role as Connie on GH was way more interesting. And tit-for-tat on GH for how they are writing for some of it’s “A” star actors from other soaps.

A lot of these comments remind me of GH fans responding to the Fluke story, even though I think GHers were far more harsh and vocal. Seems like Pratt and RC may be in competition. But them I guess any uproar that keeps a show/story in the news is good for both in their eyes/egos and ratings.

I have been chanting the same litany since this doppelgänger idiocy started. Does IT point to the left or right? Hmmmm. Just the lovemaking itself should be an eye-opener. ….the way he smells, his nuances, his kiss etc……these are all tell-tale signs a woman, who is intimately familiar with her sexual partner, should know. And, not to dismiss friends and family….are they all deaf, blind and dumb? Sigh!!!!

The BIG question is this: Y&R have been #1 for YEARS so why do they keep screwing around with a revlovling door of writers?!?!?!

All I hope for when these storylines end is that : one of the reasons Austin was killed is because he found out that someone else killed Delia ; not Adam. Going through this whole debacle about the murders, ( Kelly’s included) , fake Jack, and this Gabriel mess should clear Adam’s name. (Adam’s fans know that he didn’t kill Delia)
That’s one good conclusion that I hope comes from these storylines.

Good post, Belle. I agree. It’s high time Adam’s true identity comes forth.
Perhaps you are right…that is, Austin knew the truth about Delia’s death and he had to be silenced.
By the same token, how is Marco involved? If he is responsible for Austin’s death, then how does Delia/Adam fit in? This could be a very interesting storyline…..if TPTB would go there and explore it!!

Seems like the writing process is in REVERSE mode– the stories that ought to be explored deeply are rushed through in a day or two, and the ones that are ridiculous go on for months! Feb 14th was the beginning of all the disasters and they’re becoming more silly each passing day. I cannot even watch Ashley’s scenes because they are wasting her talents with a miraculous surgery (my family dealt with my dad’s brain aneurism and it was MONTHS before any of returned to any sense of normalcy; this whole Yand R take was very insulting) and even worse dialog. I may tune in each day, but I can watch it in fast forward in under 10 minutes– I would never have done that a decade ago, or when the show began in the 70s and on… but now? It seems to have lost its soul. And that is very sad.

Nobody was FF in the 70’s!

Because they couldn’t FF in the 70’s.

@4ever.
I am sure Timmm is being sarcastic, 4ever. He knows there was no FF in the 70’s….
It is just Timmm’s particular, witty humor…LOL.

I am so tired of victor winning. He never pays for any crimes, whether or not he committed the crime or the cause behind someone else committing the crime. Will his family or the law ever find out how dirty victor is? Will his grand children ever find out that he played a part in the death of their fiancé and husband? The same story line ,Tracee’s daughters death a few years back and summers husband and Noah’s fiancée.
Lauren’s lookalike, jack’s lookalike.you did leave it open for jack’s lookalike to return.if Marco returns please make it quick, don’t leave us hanging for months and leave us with a lame ending. Let everything victor did come out and victor go to prison. And don’t let jack be charged with anything.put victor and Marco in the same prison .

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
