The Return Of Jonathan Jackson In New General Hospital Summer Promo!

Courtesy/ABC
In a brand new General Hospital promo released today, multiple Daytime Emmy winner and a current star on ABC’s Nashville, Jonathan Jackson makes his heralded return to the soap opera that gave him his start this summer.
As previously announced, Jackson is returning this summer for a short story arc along with his on-screen half brother Nathan Parsons (Ethan) as the duo are in story that ties up Luke Spencer’s last storyline before the iconic Anthony Geary (Luke) departs the series for the final time.
The ABC summer promo features many of your favorites from Port Charles, and if you look closely there is a major reunion moment when Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) opens her front door and Lucky is standing there! Could Lucky get through to Liz to make her stop her deceitful ways on keeping Jake’s (Billy Miller) true identity a secret? Will he even know what she has been doing? Will the two have heart-tugging scenes about how their relationship fell apart even though they deep down love each other? Stay tuned!
Watch the return of Jonathan Jackson and some sizzling summer heat moments after the jump! Then weigh-in on what you hope happens when Lucky and Elizabeth see each other again!
All I want to say is…..Jonathan Jackson is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Yeah, pretty shallow of me, I know. But, WOW!!!!
@CeeCee… Ditto.. If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing JJ in the
role of Lucky, UR in for a treat.. He lights up the screen❗️
gosh, Jonathan looks so good. I’m so happy he’s coming back for a brief stint, as much as I loved Liz & Lucky back in the day, I’m excited to see them reunited. I’m a Liz & Jason fan, now, but how cool is it that Liz & Lucky will have scenes, too. I hope we see some flashbacks from their days past. Jonathan is super great on Nashville, and I’m grateful the beloved star is making his way back to Port Charles. So classy. Welcome, Jonathan!
On Tony’s tweeter..
A YouTube was posted of the two..
It was very good..
go to YouTube and in search put in; Lucky & Liz 4-16-99
Tony has a twitter? I know he did but I thought he dumped it. Trying to pull up youtube but something’s up with my computer. I’ll catch it shortly-I saw all of GH at this time-was addicted big time.
As sick as this sounds, my fav scenes from GH were when Liz was raped (you absolutely did not see it coming) & Lucky finding her in the weeds after. You had so many things going on there-esp since Lucky did not know of his dad, aka his best friend, raping his mom. It was the beginning of Lucky & Liz’s love story, which I get that you aren’t big on soap romance. I’m not big on all of the hookups w/no feeling myself. If the writers did it right like Lucky & Liz back in the 90’s I’d be more on board. Anyway, just great writing back then.
Also great was when Lucky confronts Luke later after then “prick” Nik spilled the beans to him about the rape. Back when Nik hated Lucky & Luke. Some folks have forgotten that Nik started off as a jerk. The switch in him lately isn’t so shocking to me as it is others.
Back to JJ & Lucky-my fav GH character of all time BEFORE Guza backed over him repeatedly with the big bus. 1 of my fav actors still. Very excited for those who didn’t watch GH when he was on & aren’t familiar with him now through his music, on the tv show Nashville or the others shows & movie’s he has done. You either have it or you don’t & he has it in spades!!
No, Tony doesn’t have a twitter..
I meant it to be #Tony..
No correct, so……
I hope i get ‘LUCKY’ and he takes Liz away…used to like her but she just irritates now…NoNo Clay, Stanco, (K)icki, Stale Val, Jorden and TJ cause me Boredom can leave as well as Sappy Santiago and Grossalee…Val might have been more interesting had Momma Pat been around and we learned more about their lives and relationship…now Val seems like she is just there to split Dante and Lulu….all characters ive mentioned just feel like pointless filler moments with barely any connections to the show…Sap and Tracy as bffs…is that a joke???
“Pointless filler moments,” indeed, jimh!!!! It’s been especially noticeable this week with the way Luke and Laura’s story was just wedged in between all these needless characters! It’s like a tale of two soaps…..one, the GH we know and love, and this other, an alien group of interlopers with no palpable links to the heart and history of the show. This “split personality” approach simply doesn’t work. As for new “besties” Tracy and Sappy, the concept is so utterly ridiculous, I can’t fathom it! If the show runners had wanted to go with an upstairs/downstairs” friendship like Anna and Lady Mary of “Downton Abbey,’ then a far more suitable BFF candidate would have been the beloved Alice….she has been on the scene for years and is just as devastated by this Fluke mess as Tracy! They could truly relate their shared sorrow over the loss of “Mr. Luke.” Or how about another actually credible scenario, like Monica making an appearance in her OWN HOME and bonding with her sister-in-law? They’ve both been through so much together and separately…such a rapprochement would not go amiss. Or better yet, have Tracy go out on the town to tie one on and run into other “smart ladies who make dumb choices” and they commiserate? Can you just imagine Dr. O.—along with her sis, Magda—-waxing sentimental about her beloved “Demented Dane,” Faison? And not that they would necessarily appeal to me, but even Lucy, Bobbie, Den-Ava,, or God forbid, the extremely wanton Alexis, could provide more stories of women of a certain age who should know better….but don’t! (And toss in the always fabulous Diane Miller, too….she may not be on the outs with Max, but she always delivers such wonderful lines, we need more of her!) Lastly, crank up the karaoke and let Liesl go to town with the torchsongs! (I’m still waiting for “What I Did For Love!”) Now THAT would make one heck of a hen/pity party!
@Shay… That scenario would truly be delicious, exactly what Tracy needs.
Women like Dr.O, Magda, Diane & Alexis they can relate, drown their
sorrows and play a little pool…
I so agree with all you said…it should have been Monica and not that interloper who had overstayed her welcome months ago…it wouldve been nice seeing Monica and Tracy bonding after all these years and having a girls night out!!!
@Fanny…..Yep, a “Girls’ Night Out” would be too much fun….although I’m not sure if I could envision the soigne’ Magda getting down n’ dirty playing pool! More likely she’d be sitting in the corner with her champers making prickly pronouncements about the rest of the lot! LOL….
Oh, and toss Delia in the mix, too! She would add her own sort of insanity to the party!
Shay, hi, there.
You know? Sometimes I read back through past threads to see if I missed anything. Guess what I realized? I thought I had a little respite for the past couple of weeks….shucks! No such luck!! ….have you noticed that two certain posters disappeared for days and then came back at the same time? Get my drift? Two names, one person. I need to mind what I write about Alexis, again!
Also, I forgot to mention on my last reply about Franco and Dr.O. I had been thinking what you wrote for a while now. I am glad I am not the only one to think of pairing Franco with Dr. O. I think they would turn the world upside-down together. In or out of bed. Imagine that! She would break into song at the peak of ecstasy….just like Madeline Kahn, after her electric encounter with Young Frankenstein…Or, actually have Franco break into song….hilarious. That would be a memorable moment, no? Later.
Jimh, you had me all the way until Sabrina! And even with that character, I see where you’re coming from. I’m actually hooked on the instant friendship between Tracy and Sabrina. It’s daunting, yet refreshing, for Tracy to have an actual friend. I’d get rid of a few other main characters, too, but I won’t go there today… 🙂
@Shay I have decided that maybe Leslie Charleson is ill and can’t work right now why else have we not seen her since last year. She was every bit as good of an actress as anyone on that show now her scenes with Stuart Damon etc and the breast cancer storyline wonderful acting. I miss her I really do.
I don’t think this instant “I’ll be your friend, Tracy” thing works for me. For me, a friendship between Sabrina and Tracy feels forced and awkward, same with the Michael & Sabrina pairing. I would prefer to see Tracy remain with her original givens, it’s very much her character to be strong enough to live life friendless, she’s consistently been family oriented, sure she had issues with Edward.
Anyways, if Sabrina is going to be nanny for the months to come, she should be just that, nanny to AJ, nothing more to Michael and to Tracy. I would love to see Sabrina paired with Ethan (upon his return). She needs some Spencer adventure to life. She had a rough year last year, losing Gabriel, ending her relationship with Patrick and, now Carlos is “gone”. She needs a lively character to elevate her greatness.
James i kind of agree…it would be refreshing seeing Tracy with a female friend but it shouldv’e been with her sister-in-law Monica…they have never really been close and often at each others throats over the years…it wouldv’e been truly refreshing to see Monica and Tracy as bffs and bonding after all these years…its Monica’s house and we never see her…her son Jason is alive with a front-and-center storyline and all we see is Monica’s picture?…Monica should be in these stories…it wouldv’e made more sense with her and Tracy…and we should be seeing her in occasional scenes with Jake too…she’d get these odd unexplainable feelings around him…she starts seeing him act more and more like Jason ect.,…it would make that story more exciting!!!
@jimh….Oh yes, we are of one mind when it comes to all the “Sappy-centric” tosh…we don’t need it….we don’t like it….we don’t want it!!!!!!….Got it????? I’ve already skipped numerous episodes these past few weeks because I simply cannot suffer through that upstart’s increasingly unwarranted, contrived presence and gross imposition into the most unlikely GH characters’ lives and scenarios. I swear, the “Sapster” has practically become the “Forrest Gump” of Port Charles!
Sappy is taking over the show like Summer on Y&R! I cannot stand either one of them. Jane Elliot probably wishes she would have announced HER retirement after seeing that she has to chew scenes with “Scene Slicer Sappy!”
I havent watched much myself…im tired of Ninny SAINTiago!!!
@Timmm….After seeing the incomparable JE reduced to the indignity of those repeated scenes with Sappy, I wish she had retired!!!! I just don’t get why all the long-time greats of GH have been forced to share the spotlight with this inane nobody….Anna, Tracy, Sam, Patrick, even Sonny and Carly. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason for this mediocre miss being accorded so much exposure on the Port Charles canvas, and yet, many, many far more talented individuals and favorite characters have been relocated to the backburner whilst she continues to be shoved down the viewers’ throats. Why not just rename it “The Sappy Soppy Hour” and be done with it?????
Oh, I agree with everything you stated, Jimh, except for Sabrina. I have a weak spot for her. LOL. I do not even recognize Liz anymore. ….or, was she always a double-crosser? I have lost all respect for her. Valerie…hmmmm. I need more time to see where her head is.. Her mouth gets on my nerves, too, though. LOL… Now that she has a paying job (literally, lol) she could get invisalign braces.
Oh, and I find Tracy’s off-the-wall-friendship with Tracy a bit out of place, myself. What do they have in common? Hmmmm.
Also, I hope Ava keeps her knees together…but, her pull toward Morgan is still strong. Morgan will be Ava’s folly. If anyone can screw-up her anonymity, it will be her own wanton self. It is a shame, though, don’t you think, Jim? I got the feeling that Silas would be a willing ‘lover’, if you will, if he did not feel that Ava’s sexual urges toward Morgan were out of her system. The woman better snap out of it and weigh her circumstances and priorities, before her foolishness (Morgan) gets the best of her.
I tried to like Ninny SAINTiago…i honestly tried…but her character just doesnt fit in…her and Tracy do not work as bffs…Tracy and Monica never got along since day one and it wouldv’e been a nice and unexpected twist to finally see the sister-in-laws bond after all these years…Liz i was fine with but i grew to dislike but as for Nik i like him better as a villian…he was too bland as a nice guy…as for Ava i would like to see a shocking twist…Ava really did have a twin named Denise(also played by MW) who shows up in PC and confronts Ava/Denise!!!
I wish they had kept Pat alive and we learn more about her side of the Spencer family and stories about her and Valerie…now Val seems to only there to break up Dante and Lulu…too predictable and just another pointless filler character!!!
@jimh.
You’re right about keeping Pat alive. So many questions would have been answered. But, yes, that would have been too easy.
I do wonder, though, why Valerie has her mother’s surname, Spencer. Was she born out of wedlock? Was Pat raped? Did her father abandon both her and her mother? Was Pat purposely keeping her child’s paternity a secret? If so, why? I think Valerie is here to stay because of all these ‘mysteries’. We shall see!!
@jimh
Wow, good one, Jim! Can you imagine? The real Denise shows up. That’s hilarious….
Well, so much for DenAva’s “knees-together” notion, CeeCee!!!! Ain’t gonna happen…LOL! It shall really be interesting to see where Ms. Jerome’s insatiable libido leads her…she’s wantonly wading into Alexis territory, where she’s just “gotta have it,” come h#ll or high water! Speaking of the “bust-baring one,” has it gone unnoticed that despite Denise’s totally trashy tartwear, she’s still showing off far less cleavage than the uppity Alexis? Just had to ask….if anyone else has noticed this other than me, it would be YOU!!!! As for the Sapster, I’ll never understand your “soft spot” for her….we see eye-to-eye on so many other issues, but on this we are simply destined to remain diametrically opposed. Just the mere presence of that vapid creature roils my disdain to no end.
@Shay.
Hi, Shay, Shay.
Yeah! You’re probably right…”tis quite a challenge for Ava to keep her sexual urges at bay, I guess. She is in her forties, AFTERALL, right? Isn’t that the age a woman reaches her sexual peak? LOL.
But, even with all this insatiable sex drive, there is no comparison to passed-her-prime-Alexis.
And, yes, Shay, I did notice that Ava , regardless her less-than-savory conduct and forced, ditsy demeanor, she has class. That’s what separates her from from low-rated Alexis. Ava is not an exhibitionist. She needs not display her wares….we all know they’re there!!! LOL, still at attention.
Now, Sabrina…yes, I can’t really explain why I am so accepting of the girl. I think it is the fact that we were enceinte at the same time. Our babies are exactly the same age.
I think Sabrina has a few fans other than myself. I do agree that her presence leaves much to be desired, as there are plenty of other characters who could do what she’s doing….that is, get to the bottom of the presumed ELQ takeover. I suppose you feel for Sabrina what I feel for Kiki and Morgan. I cannot stand the sight of them. And, not because they’re together. I never liked Morgan. Just as I cannot explain my simpatia for Sabrina, I cannot explain my antipatia for Kiki and Morgan. Go figure!!!!
(Aside)……didn’t Maxie look so prettily inspiring today? Loved her little summer dress…loved her bag. I have a similar sun-dress, only with no straps…..later.
Much fashion food for thought there, CeeCeeGirl! I also admired Maxie’s summery floral frock as I watched her on Friday afternoon….the soft pastel colors were perfect with her breezy blonde beauty, just as I’m sure your sun-dress complements yours!!!! Having said that, as long as neither of us emulates Denise or Alexis in the respective attire to which they currently adhere, we should remain in good seasonal style stead….LOL! (Here’s a thought….If Alexis walks about half-exposed in the winter, what God awful creations will she be donning when Port Charles experiences this year’s first heat wave? Oh, the horror!) But I digress….back to speaking of Ms. DeNuccio….Maura West really is playing up the “trash factor” in fabulous form as the gum-popping, junk-in-the-trunk strutting, Denise! Yet, because we know that it’s all faux, it’s absolutely hilarious!!! I’m not sure how much longer Ava can get away with her “hiding in plain sight” masquerade, however, it’s been a real kick! I just want her to assume custody of that precious poppet and go on from there!!! As for the Sapster, I can understand your relating and empathizing with her maternal storyline, but Geez Louise, that tragic tale came and went over a year ago….I’ve seen no relevant place on the GH canvas for this problematic character since Patrick gave her the romantic heave-ho and they lost Gabe the Babe. She really should have just departed after that development and not returned…it would have made sense and been the appropriate closure for this polarizing parvenu-in-waiting! Lastly, I can appreciate your disdain for Kiki and Morgan…they are such layabouts and not even in a glamorous, “Gossip Girl” sort of way….they look like lazy slobs and just while away their days hanging out, snarking and behaving badly. At least when KA was still portraying Kiki, there was some common sense and goodness in the character, especially when she moved in to assist Morgan with the brownstone renovation. Since then, neither has shown much inclination for any kind of positive existence……’tis a shame they didn’t get to care for Avery, because I do believe that child could have been the making of both of them. Of course, I fully expect Morgan to be revealed as the true baby daddy of said crumpet, so that will perhaps herald in a more mature Corinthos…particularly if he ends up reunited with Ava. (Which would leave Kiki……in a romantic redux with Mikey? Works for me!)
@Shay.
I always have a smile on my face when I read your posts, Shay.
Now, if The Kiki character was reprised by Kristen…then, yes. Give the baby to her ….she’d be great. But, no way does Hayley(sp) look or act mature enough to be a substitute mother or an ‘au pair’. But, you know, Shay? Basically, Kiki just gets on my nerves. She’s not fun. That’s it…she’s dull.
Morgan probably is Avery’s Daddy…I agree with you. I think he would be okay as a father. I could see him tending to the baby.
I also agree about Sabrina. She basically has no function, at this point. This is why my belief that she is Sonny’s daughter is reinforced. Why else are TPTB coddling her? I do like the character, but I see her uselessness. She is of no value to anything or anyone. Michael can get any girl he wants….as limited as the number is…LOL. PC has a shortage of both young men and women. I am surprised there are no in-bred births. It is a wonder, considering the strength of Sonny’s little, big swimmers, there aren’t more Corinthos progeny running around PC.
Okay, let’s discuss Ava. Obviously she cannot continue living her life in such close quarters with family and others, in the guise of one Denise Di Muccio. I think she will remove the wig and in her best imitation of a New Yorker’s accent, she will explain she needed a change….you know, a change of geography called for a change of hair. Denise will re-morph into Ava…no sweat. Little by little, she will be her old self and no one will be the wiser. Maura amazes me over and over…she is so into this role….she is a testament to her craft!!!!
Then, of course, there goes Silas. I have gotten that certain feeling, you know, that twinge where he really has a stirring for Ava. If it were not for her wandering eye straying, focusing, and settling on Morgan, it could work between them. But, it is hard to squelch those Jezebel-hot desires. There’s a lot of unquenched passion between Ava and Morgan. He must have really stroked her core…LOL. Any relationship between Morgan and Denise is not realistic. Their attraction overwhelms them…but, it won’t last. Too many years separate them…too many issues….too many lies. Only Silas fits into this equation.
As far as Alexis is concerned? All she needs to do is not show so much cleavage….not a pretty sight!!!! It runs from her chest up to her neck. That cannot be helped because they are real. But, she could cover them up some. It’s okay in youth when Mother Nature makes sure the plum tree is young and bears firm and supple fruit.
Buuuut….well, you know. As you said a few posts ago; soon enough Alexis will look like Julian’s mother. I can picture it…LOL.
Well, you’re no slouch in the sunshine department either, CeeCeeGirl! It’s always a treat to read your saucy posts! Especially when Sonny is one of the topics!!! Is it just me, or did he look like he dipped his scalp in an entire tin of black shoe polish during his most recent onscreen appearance???? His hair was so dark and shiny, it resembled patent leather! So much for GH’s small screen version of Valentino…LOL. I know you love to speculate on this “Dandy Don’s” prodigious paternity possibilities, but c’mon, he’s hardly “The Father of Port Charles,” despite his current 5×5 status…there’s simply no way he can be responsible for siring every under-40 person of questionable lineage currently inhabiting the town…in that case, there would be no musical couplings upon which to ruminate! (And I am sooo ready to play shuffleboard with the status quo pairings….too many simply don’t work!) First of all, Kiki and Morgan need to be dunzo….the two of them put together don’t equal even half a wit. It’s bad enough that the “Corinthos Kid” has never been the sharpest tool in the shed, but putting him back with nuKiki has created negative brain energy…they both require adult supervision! Fortunately, Morgan will have DenAva to fulfill that role, even if her own maturity truly should be called into question with her latest pursuit of her former boy toy….can she really trust that dullard with her secret identity? I mean, if they get back to the same old, same old, isn’t he going to recognize the “same old, same old?” (Unless the crafty Ava has added some “new moves,” not to mention various sorts of nifty décor, motif or ornamentation “down there,” as well! You can’t put it past her….) Still, I simply cannot fathom either of them putting the brakes on their explosive passion….particularly Ava….she’s gone without for so long now…what with all of that gesticulation, incarceration, and recuperation she’s endured! And if not Morgan to scratch that itch, than which mister? Silas is just too smart to allow his old feelings to get the better of him, and with a convicted, on the lam felon, no less???? I can’t see it, so my suspicions remain with Morgan as the main man, although I did see a spoiler that suggests Franco may fill that void! (Personally, I’d prefer Dr. O. would unleash her inner cougar and have a fling with this alternately morose and mirthful man-child. She seems to have a soft spot for those mercurial “got a screw-loose” types, so he’d be a perfect fit for her!) Anyway, that’s leaves Kiki as the odd girl out, and since I cannot envision anyone else putting up with her huffy stuff, I have to reunite her with Mikey. Maybe if they get close again, and she can usurp Sappy in every possible capacity, including caring for Avery, it will miraculously make her less obnoxious and unappealing….just a thought, since I can see no other function for this horrendous recast….really, how much longer can one hold out hope that she is ultimately going to be revealed as Nina’s demon spawn? Which would once again put the Sapster nowhere, which is exactly as it should be….and don’t even think about latching her onto Dillon, I suspect he’s about to commit adultery with Lulu, which makes me sad and unfortunately, gives Dante reason to dally with Vally (Chops.) Ick!!!! Okay, that leaves the task of finding Julian another mate….because, let’s face it, Alexis and he are completely ridiculous together, and becoming more so with each passing day. Of course, Olivia would be a great choice upon her return and the eventual reveal that their son is still alive. But that could take quite awhile, so in the interim, who shall Mr. Jerome have as a new physical preoccupation???? Although I would love to see him with a hot, young thing, there aren’t any to be found on the GH canvas right now, so….since he seems to go for women of a certain age, how about Maddie? She’s so gorgeous that her sex appeal belies her age. Plus, they could plot together, maybe she could even head up his publishing company’s fashion/society division? At some point, her scheming to get back Nina’s money is probably going to go bust, so until she finds another means to pay the bills, she may have to actually join the workforce. Could be interesting! (As long as the absurd union between Julian and Ms. Davis is finally put to rest, I shall be content.) Lastly, I loved your “plum tree” comment….it brought to mind the notion that we both know what happens when the fruit is “over-exposed” to the elements, especially too much sun…..it becomes dried up and wrinkled….as a prune! Just saying….Later!
Rather hard to overlook, isn’t it, CeeCee? And such a shame, too….what a pleasure it had been to not be bombarded with that utter nuisance in our inboxes….oh well, all good things must end, eh? (In reference to your query, I checked back to the beginning of June….should I have gone to May????) Notice nobody else seems to have missed that complete nonsense either….we surely haven’t! Guess we did as you previously predicted: “rattled the cage” a bit too much…LOL! We should have realized that pathological, overbearing need to defend and glorify certain causes and characters wasn’t ever going to abate!!!! Whatever….we simply won’t allow it to interfere with our fun!!!! Now then, for Franco and his “love life!” Looks like Dr. O. is out of luck (again) as DenAva moves in for some “core-honing” activity with the artistic madman…..drats! I think Liesl and Franco could have made beautiful music together, so to speak….and yes, I can truly imagine her breaking out in ecstatic song as they plot to take over Port Charles! (Especially now that big sis Magda has released her inner cougar and gone in for the kill with son-in-law, Ric! Oh my!!!! I had hoped Maddie would have displayed better taste in her choice of bed partner, but then again, desperate times call for desperate measures! Those two still don’t look as ridiculous and mismatched as Alexis and Julian…or Luke and Jennifer! Hah!) At any rate, I had weather-related internet problems overnight, which is why it took me so long to respond to you…drove me up the wall, as I like to write in the wee hours from dusk to dawn…I am a nocturnal creature by habit!!!!! However, I made sure to make this my first post as soon as I was able to resume my normal routine…hope you receive it!!!! Later, Girl!!!!
@Shay.
I consider myself nocturnal as well; simply because I cannot sleep. My brain never stops…always going….LOL.
to be honest with you, Shay. I feel traumatized by MadMaddie and Rick the D!@k. How low can they go? Soapy, soapy, soapy…LOL.
Furthermore, I am so tired of all the shenanigans. Is anything going to be resolved? This Jake thing is starting to take a nonsensical turn….it will take forever…. Fluke, anyone?
**************************************
You know how much I love Michelle, Maura and Howard. Thus, it breaks my heart what the writers are doing to these stalwart actors. Yes, I do enjoy the comedic stints by Franco and Maura. Franco’s chewing gum, completely parroting ‘Denise’ was buffoonish….funny, yes. But, Roger is not a clown. It does show how talented he is, however, how can one take him seriously? Enough, now. Yes? I think it’s time to cut the cord. Also, it was fun to watch at first; now, it is stale. Ava as Denise; Franco as the looney comedian.
Then comes Nina. I said, since she emerged from her coma, that every misfortune that befell Nina was her mother’s fault. All because of money. Regardless how she excuses it….that Nina has always had a bizarre streak, if you will,…..a mother always has her child’s best interest at heart. MadMaddie is driven by money….and, we all are aware that Rick is sniffing her skirts for that reason only.
I am not too happy with Nina. Is she more astute than we presume? I say this because in the midst of acting like a mindless child, I see a flair of intelligence glowing….an astuteness which belies her actions. I see that as some superlative acting. She can change disguises on cue…a Child-like Nina, adult Nina, loving Nina, angry Nina, betrayed Nina, frightened Nina….what a chameleon. Nina has been aching for someone to love her all her life. That is her mother’s fault. I think Dr. O, who is supposedly the weird, evil one, is proving to be a fit, loving mother….later, Girl!
Yes, CeeCee, Ric and Maddie are, for lack of a better word, “icky!” Of course, he is so reptilian, I cannot understand any woman going for him, most particularly the lovely Liz! But I agree that all Magda is seeing are dollar signs when she’s shagging her poor excuse for a son-in-law. I guess they deserve each other—like two slithering snakes in the grass—yet, I wish that Madeline had found a more appropriate “mark” for her money-making efforts. (Of course, GH lacks that old soap staple, the attractive, successful silver-fox mogul….they definitely need to add a few so the women of Port Charles will have someone for whom to compete!) I have also pretty much had it with DenAva’s screwball antics….they were fun at first-now she’s becoming a bit too sleazy for my druthers….Lord only knows what she will get up to with Franco. Somehow, Real Ava must be brought back into the fold, because I cannot fathom Denise being able to hang around much past summer! As for the CrayClay…..how do you solve a problem like your Nina???? From my perspective, nothing works….she’s just one big mess! Nobody seems to know what to do with her or how to write for her, and those ridiculous outfits make her look completely inane….. garbed in those teeny-tiny-teenager-approved mini dresses, it makes one wonder if she’s even aware of the year or her own age! It’s really quite disconcerting to watch! We also need to explore Nina’s true backstory with Maddie. Providing character histories is certainly not a strong suit of this regime, but I still feel there is a very compelling tale to tell there, and Dr. O. is a big part of it. I wish that there were more emphasis on the “Swiss Sisses” and their lives. Other than Laura’s return and Jake’s journey toward discovering his identity, they truly are the only other characters with plotlines that currently hold my interest. Alas, I do believe it is going to be a long few months ahead…..I’m STILL waiting for that big L&L adventure!!!! At any rate, I haven’t had much time to post these past few days, but I’ve read many of your comments, so thank you for the kind mentions! Right back at ya, Girl!!!! Oh, by the way, I’m nocturnal by choice….no sleeping problems for me, I simply love the night, the dark, the peace, the quiet…they stoke my creativity, especially during these long summer months…..too much daytime and sunlight overstimulate me and make me cranky, plus I hate the heat and particularly, the humidity!!!! They’re not for me….I’m a sweater girl and I love the fall and winter seasons!!! But I do hear you about not being able to turn off the thought process…I can’t either. As a matter of fact, funny story I’ve been meaning to tell you for an age: I was chatting with a good friend about current events, politics, etc. and I mentioned that I couldn’t stop thinking about things, and she suggested that I do something mindless to dissuade my brain from working overtime. Guess what her number one idea was?….Get ready!…Take up knitting (or crocheting!) Needless to say, I roared with laughter, and she wanted to know what was so d@#m funny about that notion. I just told her “you DON’T want to know!” LOL. (I knew you would enjoy that one…… ; ) ……) Later!
@Shay.
Hi, Shay.
Yes, I did enjoy the exchange you had with your friend…..we should both pick up knitting as a hobby. (Inside joke…try to explain that).
I actually responded to you with a lengthy post, which, may I add, some would regard as winded….never made it, Shay…completely pulverized. So, I will try to re-write a shorter version.
To make a long story short…I am just not impressed by this sordid, sort-of-affair between MadMaddie snd Rick. This is a mother who is basically selling her daughter out.
I hurt for Nina…she is a tortured soul, looking for love anywhere she can get it. All because her mother denied her the nurturing every child needs and deserves.
Why, oh, why is Michelle portrayed this way? It’s a joke. She was impressive on Y&R….her clothes out-of-this-world ….haute couture envoye’ de Paris. She wore every stitch with flair and flourish. I really do not ken why she wears tubes in lieu of dresses, now.
Dr. O is definitely an integral part with whatever transpired in Nina’s young life. She did divulge to Nina that she knew a secret concerning her past. The only logical conclusion I can come to, is that Kiki is Nina’s daughter, as I keep harping, at nauseam.
I just want this to stop, Shay. Decide what to do with Nina once and for all. She should divorce Rick, reclaim her money and grow up. Do you think she’s fooling everyone? Maybe I’m underestimating her. Oh, how I would love to see Nina stick it to both her mother and Rick….Lol…G’nite.
Naaahhh, CeeCeeGirl…I’m nowhere near ready to hit the knitting needles, nor are you…LOL! (I still cannot believe that ANYONE would have taken so seriously your little quip about that notion….but it’s just par for the course. And as you have previously observed, the inane sniping continues!) At any rate, such a shame your previous post was obliterated….I’m sure it was riveting. Anyway, I’m not at all impressed with the Maddie/Ric tryst either. Now mind you, Donna Mills as femme fatale—I’m all for…just not with her slug-in-law! I love the job she’s doing as Magda, and I want her to stick around Port Charles, so to make her a one-dimensional mommy dearest on wheels simply doesn’t work for me. I know that you are sympathetic to Nina and her plight, but I just cannot go there….there has to be something more than simple greed propelling Maddie and her massive acrimony with her daughter….it goes far beyond the inheritance issue! What if the “big secret” is not about Kiki being Nina’s daughter, but Nina NOT being Magda’s bio-child???? Maybe she was barren, and needed an instant child to snag her mega-bucks hubby…enter Dr. O.? That could explain Nina’s mental shortcomings….perhaps she was somebody else’s bad seed reject or even born to an addict…that would definitely scramble her brain and provide a good reason for Maddie’s failure to bond with her problem child….she did once mention how obstinate she was ! Or maybe Nina is her father’s offspring to another woman, which would certainly excuse the animosity Madeline feels for her. There is much, much more to this story than meets the eye, that’s for sure! But we do agree that something concrete needs to materialize in this forever going nowhere saga….it is making MS appear utterly foolish. That little get-up they had her in the other day made her look like mutton dressed as lamb! And while you are hoping this is part of a “crazy like a fox act” on the CrayClay’s part, I just can’t see it….she’s too much of a loose cannon, a really under-developed, unformed persona for this to be part of some grand strategy. Me thinks Nina is as clueless as the writers who created her. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again….the kindest thing that could happen would be for Stafford to get a killer (no pun intended….) death scene….let her go out in a blaze of glory and call it quits on this failed experiment of charmless character. Enough with the spinning of the wheels….let this train finally run off its tracks and crash! But keep Maddie…definitely, keep the Donna Mills character. She’s priceless!
I wish GH would moved forward once an for all and leave lucky in good standing with Liz, I’m sure the show is hoping he’ll come back for good( so am I) but why leave the character in such bad standing? We all know jj is ion Nashville and also has a band so knowing that why can’t lucky still at least be a good parent and see his kid offscreen? Lucky & Liz could be friends considering everything they’ve been through. Same goes with Robin where the hell is she? why doesn’t Anna or Emma ask bout her? Does Helena still have her hold up somewhere?? Jax lives offscreen and gets to see joslyn just wish the same for robin & lucky instead we never hear from them so how do we know what the status currently is, hopefully when lucky appears we will hear that he & Liz mended fences and that the kids visit him or will start to, for me that’s more normal and plays better then lucky being a absent father to his kids and same for robin we need to know what’s happening with her ASAP …
Out of sight…out of Cartini’s mind. Terrible terrible writing.
Lucky and Liz forever!!!! I hope they dust off Aiden and show them having scenes together as a family!!!!
Jonathan Jackson IS Lucky Spencer. Thank goodness he is able to reprise the role for this Spencer family story line. I hope loose ends can be tied in somewhat of a neat bow. We never know if the Spencers will be mainstays again.
I can’t wait for Jonathan Jackson to return to GH even though it’s only for a few episodes. I think he is marvelous on Nashville and am so happy he has a good role. I miss him on GH but sure do like him on Nashville….keep up the good work, Jonathan!!!!
Um, you noticed Nathan Parsons (Ethan) in the ad too, right? Blink and you’ll miss him. Both Entertainment Weekly and Michael did!
It probably also helps that Nashville is part of ABC in getting Jonathan/Lucky back on GH. Wish CBS would “loan out” Tristen/Robert. Would like to see Lucky and Liz back together. Obviously can’t happen.
I love how they are bringing back all these people to send Luke off. I just hope the storyline is entertaining and realistic not absurd and ridiculous. I love this show but sometimes I am disappointed with what is going on and how long it takes to get to the “good stuff!!”
Jonathan and Tony are gold on screen! Tony has said how much he loves working with Jonathan and Jonathan is so grateful having Tony beside him as a young actor back in the day. [The “Cowboy” rides again!]
Hi Timmm..
didja go to YouTube and in search put in; Lucky & Liz 4-16-99
It was AWESOME!!
Luke and Tony had some really intense scenes ..
I did su0000 AND I am “Old” enough to have admitted watching them when they first aired! You just knew then Jonathan was going to be a star. I see the same for the young man who plays Spencer. He will be in the spotlight one day.
Now that’s what I call a PROMO! Looks like a great summer where GH gets back to basics. Good stuff.
SO glad to see him even for a short while. If Nashville ever gets cancelled they should try to get him to come back. Do a deal like Y and R did for Steve Burton so he can go back and forth.
Not at all trusting that this regime will write ANYTHING worthy of these legacy characters and actors. What a shame!!
I hope Re-Ron does not destroy Lucky because he went to Nashville. The guy is very mean when he gets his own way S.K , comes to mind. I will come back to see Lucky , Laura and even Nathan P. I watch JJ on Nashville because he is on the show, Tony was great on screen with JJ but killing Jake without caring I don’t know.
I will watch ,but when JJ goes who cares about the show. Genie who knows, will TIIC better wake up. Genie needs to stay here . Dump to much mobs for me. Franco and Nina turn my stomach , not my idea of soaps. There is sooo much evil on this soap . I have turned off the show and TG is disgusting to me .I don’t think genie and Lucky can even bring back the fans for just the time they are on.
Ah, Janet…I get what you’re saying. I love Jackson….he is too gorgeous to be real. And, I also, watch NASHVILLE because of him and Panettiere.
As far as GH housing too much evil? Well, tune in Y&R. The evil that goes on there will make your head spin…spinning so far out, I thought I saw Linda Blair!!!!
Tooo Much Kill farren Phelps on Y&R for me. Will watch the return of the real actors to GH and just hope for the best. As long as my stomach can stand to watch T G.
The first thing Liz needs to ask is where is four years of back child support for our invisible child named Aiden.
The more I look at that shot of Liz and Lucky isn’t that an old clip from 2009? My understanding is JJ only has one on one scenes with Geary .
Yeah, where is Aiden??? As much as I adore the actor playing Spencer, we get so much of Spencer. We see Rocco, Danny, occasionally we see little Georgie… yeah, why hasn’t Aiden been aged, so we can see some interaction with Cameron?
@The Substitute….In reference to your speculation regarding why Monica, aka Leslie Charleson, has disappeared from the GH canvas: you very well may be correct, although I certainly hope to the contrary! This legacy character is a vital, important one to Port Charles’ past and future, and she needs to be seen and heard! Here’s wishing for an upcoming return of both Monica—and LC!—in fine fettle!
@Shay… What a sad summer this will be..if all we get to see is Sappy,Val-Chops,Lulu,
Kiki, and Grossalie as the new fab five, honestly…is that the best TPTB can do for the
fans…they must not like us very much. With the sort of TALENT they have at their
disposal, they R ramming the Mealy Mouthed and the Harpies down our throats instead.
@Shay.. UR right, Magda would be put off by such an unsavory establishment.
“Girls Night” should take place at Tracy’s aka Monica’s house. The invitation
Manicures, Pedicures, Cocktails & Dishhhhhhh at 8 Don’t be late…
Truly, Fanny! I’ve been appalled at the lackluster storylines and the worthless characters at the forefront of the summer season. I guess it’s my own fault for expecting something special with Luke’s last hurrah, and Laura’s arrival, but mercy, the past few weeks have been insufferable! I barely watched an entire episode in that time, save for yesterday. What a slice of heaven that far-too-brief moment of nostalgia with L&L@The Triple L was! It was so simple, yet very heartfelt and effective….which is what you get with the right actors and scripts. I shall hang in until AG’s swansong is a fete accompli, then see what is in store for GF, but if the future looks anything like recent days, then I shall be spending much less time in Port Charles. It is simply too huge an investment to waste on the likes of Sappy, Val-Chops, nuKiki, Jordan, TJ, Grossie, and Nina. By the way, I was just asked to participate in Nielsen ratings and I declined, although I would have definitely relished NOT watching GH every time the Sapster hogged the show. Then again, I’m sure my viewing patterns would have been lost on the showrunners, as they seem to think that the audience is totally enraptured with the banal, contrived goings-on of this moronic miss. As for your suggestion for “Ladies’ Night” at ChezQuartermaine, now that could be fun! Maybe a fundraiser for the hospital? And how about Magda as Tracy’s new BFF? As least they share a certain social cache’….not to mention many unsavory chapters from their respective pasts. I think they could definitely relate to one another, and it would be so nice for Tracy to have someone in her own age range with whom to kvetch…and plot!!!!! I like it!!!!
@Shay… SORRY, I responded below CeeCee’s.
Well, Fanny…it seems Rosalie is cooked. But, what will happen with Nik? Will Michael forego pressing charges if Nik returns all the illegally gotten shares? The ball is in the Q’s corner….but, can they prove it?
As long as the above women are not given too much air time, I won’t mind so much. Summer is ultra busy for me….hardly ever home. Unfortunately, I will probably will not be able to catch all the episodes, even the DVRed ones.
Let’s hope and pray that by the fall, Kiki will be replaced and Valerie will relocate and join the FLASHPOINT team in Toronto.
Also, I think Shay should be appointed to cast every new female on GH, from now on…..right, Shay, Girl? If she and I were given that privilege, we would have a fashion show every day from the best couturiers in the world. HaHa!!
@CeeCee
I’m sure Nik has a plan B, up his devious sleeve. What if he
teams up with Franco …. Together they can cause a lot of
damage. If Sabrina is Sonny’s daughter with his late wife
Lilly…(Like U Mentioned) then it should come out before
Michael makes a move… Awkward, too close for comfort.
SHAY, should definitely be CASTING all female leads‼️
Thanks for the vote of confidence, ladies! However, if CeeCee and I were to be in charge of female (and why not the male, too?) casting, would anyone ever pass muster with our super high standards? Hmmmm….Having said that, we would be some kind of devoted and demanding stylists, but the real question that begs to be asked is could either of us get Alexis to cover herself up in any garb vaguely resembling respectable attire? That’s the $64,000 question! LOL!
@Shay
I was touched by the sincerely behind Luke’s words to Laura on Friday’s
show. A little goes a long way in mending someone’s feelings….. Like
you, I believe Tracy and Magda would make very interesting BFF’s
think of them at the helm of ELQ… Talk about Fuuuuuuuunny!!
No biggie, Fanny, we’re all friends…CeeCee, you and me!….I found YOU! LOL….Yes, I was also very taken with those brief, heartfelt moments between Luke and Laura…it almost made up for having to ff through all the other moronic, worthless stuff to which we’ve recently been subjected!!! As for Magda, I would love to see her make her permanent home in Port Charles…Donna Mills adds an element of old-fashioned glamour that has been sorely missing from the GH canvas. And in terms of Tracy? Not only should she befriend Maddie, but how about becoming the next mayoress???? That mess at City Hall needs to be addressed, and soon…..Ms. Quartermaine has just the organizational skills required to get the job done, and with Luke out of her life, she should be up for a new challenge. (Also, it’s about time that Frisco Jones came back to town to clean things up as Police Commissioner!)
Shay, how kind of you to say….Thank you, I feel the same.
You’re most welcome, Fanny. Just speaking the truth! There are certain posters here with whom one just feels an instant affinity, and you definitely fit that description, along with CeeCee, and a few other wonderful regulars! I always try to make it a point to read all of your remarks online—even if I don’t have time to comment—so should the messages fail to make it to my inbox, I usually (operative word there….) see them! At any rate, you have been such a great addition to this website….such fun!!!! I say the more the merrier…that’s my motto!!!!!!

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
