Adam Huss Makes Another Return to General Hospital as Nikolas Cassadine

Photo: IMDb

Nikolas Cassadine will be back on your screens next week but now via Pentonville. That means, that actor Adam Huss is back for a visit for all-new episodes of General Hospital.

In story, Ava (Maura West) comes to visit her ex in the slammer. So, just what does Ava want now? She clearly has been working an agenda on Sonny (Maurice Benard). Is she working with Valentin (James Patrick Stuart)? What will she tell Nikiolas? stay tuned.

Meanwhile, once news of Huss’ return broke earlier on Friday via Soap Opera Digest, he also announced his return on his Instagram expressing, “For all those who’ve been asking, cat’s out of the bag;) Thank you to all my #Nikolas #GH fans for your unwavering support. I don’t take it for granted for a second! (Even when I can’t answer 😊) #generalhospital”

Huss took over the role of Nikolas back in January of 2023, after Marcus Coloma left the soap opera. Previous to that, Huss filed in for Coloma in September of 2021 and November of 2022. Fast-forward to January of 2024, Nikolas gave Ace to Laura and Kevin to raise, while he eventually turned himself into the police for kidnapping Esme and keeping her hostage while she was pregnant and Wyndemere.

The return of Huss comes on the heels of multiple reports that his on-screen son, Nicholas Chavez is not returning to the show as Spencer Cassadine, while in story Spencer is believed to have drowned int the Seine River after falling off a boat in France, when drugged by Esme.

So, looking forward to seeing Adam Huss back as Nikolas? Do you think GH will eventually have him more full-time? Comment below.

It’s dumb; just let Nikolas go free. All the actual criminal on GH are walking free for decades, including Ava who thought she killed him and left him to rot, but Nikolas is locked up? Laura now has three kids gone; Lulu in a coma, Nikolas in jail, Lucky living his best life whatever country he landed in, and Spencer, to her mind, dead. The show is doing a great job, not, of eliminating another legacy family. Just bring back Nikola and Spencer with good actors and get these legacy families going again. So sick of them wiping out GH characters to bring on new ones with no ties to the show’s history.

Still hoping for an edit option. Criminals, not criminal. Lucky living his best life IN whichever country… Nikolas, not Nikola

Exactly!! It’s so ridiculous!

Bring back Spencer, even if he has to be ReCast!…

If Cyrus can claim a “religious” exemption to prison, and Frodd & Heather – two serial killers – can get pardoned for “medical” reasons, then whatever Nikolas did pales in comparison. What was he charged with anyway? Locking Psycho Esme up in his castle, when all the evidence pointed to her being the Hooker killer?

On the other horn Drew got locked up for a “crime” that wasn’t even a crime (merger of two family companies that went south??) and Michael was tried & convicted as an adult when he was 17 and barely recovered from a coma, for the NON-crime of defending his mother & newborn sister from a total psychopath. And, of course, we know what happened to both Drew & Mikey while in prison. We also know the judges in both of those cases were paid off.

Yep; and I’d be fine if they never locked any of our main cast up, with the exception of Carly. How many decades will she get away with all the crimes she’s pulled? (One of my fondest GH memories was when she was put in the mental ward for being accused of “pushing Nelle down the stairs.”) But why wasn’t she arrested for kidnapping Martin Grey’s mother! How is kidnapping Esme more of a crime than taking an old, sick, lady from her nursing home to use as leverage? And why didn’t Martin press charges against Carly? We know why; let’s all say it together: “Carly gets away with everything. She never pays.” And what’s with Laura? Ava asked her if she speaks to Nikolas and she’s like, “meh, not too much but sometimes.” OK; not verbatim but what kind of an answer was that???

The BEST move GH could do.. give Adam Huss a real change to let him be “Nicholas”. He proved himself with the baby Ace and Laura scenes.

Welcome back Adam, locking forward to seeing on GH.

As much as I enjoy GH, I don’t understand why they keep bringing him back for a few days and then…nothing. He is a great actor, chemistry with Laura, Ava, Ace and being a legacy character, keep him on the show. I love Jason being back, but we need Nic, Lulu and Brennon on the show. Get rid of a few dead weight characters. Also, why does every man have to be in love with Carly. Let’s show some love for Ava, Alexis and Jordan.

Given the timing I’m thinking this sudden transfer of Nikolas to an “out of state prison” is a plot point to provide the excuse for Laura to eventually leave town for her annual summer vacation.

Last year she was looking for him in vain. At least this time she will know where he is.

Laura’s got to be up for re-election soon. Be fun to have her opponent ask what kind of mayor disappears every summer for about 3 months?

I will be glad to see Adam back on the show as Nikolas! He’s great! Hope this means he’ll be back on full time soon.

Seems as if they just used him for Ava to have someone to confide in, now that she’s lost Nina whose busy with Drew. I’d love to see Nikolas being able to be with Leo again, now that we know Spencer will not be returning to PC. I suppose Trina will not be responsible enough to watch Leo, which makes sense, she’s such an air-head, I couldn’t believe Laura just handed that baby over to her.

Always happy to see Adam Huss on the show! They really should recast Lucky and then have an epic brotherly feud between the two with Laura as peacemaker.

Adam Huss should return on regular basis with Spencer gone from the canvas. No Spencer recast please…

Spencer is the new generation of the Cassadines, a legacy family. If Chavez is not coming back, they should absolutely recast. They also need to bring back Nikolas and a few other Cassadines. What I don’t want to happen is for Spencer to get so under the thumb of Trina’s family that the Cassadine stories come to an end.

I agree with the majority of fans here. I’m happy to see Adam reprise the role of Nicholas, but I wish it was on a long term basis. I keep hoping these new writers will bring back Nicholas, Lucky and Lulu full-time. Yes, recast the roles if the needed. We need more of the legacy families back on the show. I would also like to see some Hardys/Webbers return to the show.

OMG, if they can’t give us the real thing, which is impossible, a new charactor is better than a new face with an old name. Would you really welcome Steve Hardy with a new actor’s face? Bad enough we are getting a new and improved Heather Webber. Unless she reverts back to her old ways, she will be a new character.Lulu can stay gone, she’ll just be trouble for Dante and Sam. Thankfully, Val shipped the bratty Charlotte back to boarding school. Sorry, guess I’m more interested in the present and upcoming story-lines.

It would be nice to see “Steven Lars” return; Liz’s brother. I personally would like to see them try to get actors back who played legacy characters: Dillon Q, Skye, I’d love them to bring back AJ without killing him off again!!!!, and yes, we need Nikolas and Spencer. If not, the Cassadines will be done. As for “the present,” so many characters have nothing to do with GH’s history; and the daytime soap genre has always been about continuity of legacy families and multi-generations. I’m sick of the writers trying to wipe out what GH has always been as they bring on new, unrelated, characters. It’s like watching a schizophrenic show…one foot in the past and then a different show with no connection to it.

Maurice Benard Confirms Steve Burton is Upcoming Guest on ‘State of Mind’

Over this past weekend, General Hospital’s Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) revealed that he is finally going to have longtime co-star, Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) on his State of Mind You Tube series for a sit-down interview.

While speaking with Soap Opera Digest at Nancy Lee Grahn’s (Alexis, GH) ALS fundraiser, Maurice confirmed the taping is happening this week and should be posted in about three weeks time.

Benard shared, “I wanted Steve Burton and I’m shooting him Tuesday, my good friend, but he’s been through a lot and I’ve been asking for three years, but he’s finally going to do it.”

Photo: ABC

In addition, to the episode, it appears Maurice also confirmed he will be doing a You Tube live on Tuesday, May 7th as well at 3 pm PT possibly with Burton.

As GH viewers know, for year Jason was Sonny’s henchman, and his right hand. Now upon Jason’s return, the two are at complete odds, due in part to Sonny’s medication being completely manipulated by Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) and his growing paranoia.

As for what Burton will discuss, as Benard teased Steve has gone through a lot of personal ups and downs as well as professional, over the last three or more years, but has always landed on his feet. It will be interesting to hear this thoughts on those matters and how he soldiered through.

So, excited to see Maurice and Steve have a serious chat on State of Mind? Comment below.

GH’s Tabyana Ali Responds to Nicholas Chavez Exit: “I Hope That We Will Get the Chance to Work Together Again Someday”

The “Sprina” that everyone knew and loved is not coming back in the form fans have been accustomed to, at least, anytime soon after Nicholas Chavez last week confirmed his exit from General Hospital.

After months of speculation if Chavez would return to his soap role, after exiting to film a leading role in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story, he revealed he has stepped away from the role via a post on his social media accounts.

Now, the other half of Sprina, Tabyana Ali, has offered up her thoughts on Nick’s exit from the series. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest, she shared, “I want the best for him and all of his endeavors and I hope that we will get the chance to work together again someday. I also want to show my gratitude to Sprina Nation as well.”

Photo: ABC

As to what the future holds for Trina, and where the character goes from here, Tabyana would like to see a character turn, adding, “I would like her to have a vendetta story or a revenge story. Or the love of her life is gone and now she just turned evil a little bit.”

However, Ali is very aware that Trina is not wired like that emotionally, at least, as she is written now, “I don’t know how much that would be possible. She’s such a kind-hearted person at her core.”

Photo: ABC

How would you feel if the show recast the role of Spencer with another actor, and brought Spencer back from the “dead”, given that his body was not found? Would you like to see another actor paired with Tabyana? Or, should Trina find happiness with a new love, and THEN, a recast Spencer shows back up?

And you never know, as Nicholas Chavez put it in his exit statement, “While there are no current plans for me to return, we are still talking very openly about future possibilities for Spencer in Port Charles.”

Vote in our poll below, and let us know what your hopes are for Trina’s future, via the comment section below.
