All My Children
FIRST LOOK: All My Children … How The Little Ones Have Grown!

Courtesy/TOLN
When All My Children premieres premiere April 29th on Hulu.com, fans will note the five year leap in story, plus will try to embrace the SORAS’d AMC kids of veteran characters who have sprouted to teenagers or young adults ! As Prospect Park has brought the shows back to life, it’s now up to the audience t take a leap of faith that this will all work out just fine for short and long term story trajectory!
“Our little ones are now teenagers in order to make them more dramatically viable,” Thorsten Kaye (Zach) told TV Guide in this exclusive. “I mean, how interesting is a 7-year-old?” One of the newbies is sexy Rob Scott Wilson who first was known to daytime audiences as the first Price Is Right male model, and who is now the new Pete Cortlandt, Opal’s son (Jill Larson), on AMC!
Thorsten Kaye also related the enormity of what Prospect Park has tackled to get this show and OLTL on its feet again, “It’s been terrific getting back to work but we’re definitely experiencing some growing pains. This is a huge undertaking. ABC did it for 40 years. For a company that’s new to soaps like Prospect Park, it’s a whole other ball game. We ask the fans to bear with us. It will take a bit of time to get it right but I do believe we can!”
So soapers, what do you think of the SORAS’d kids? Will you give them a chance? Weigh-in!
We are use to seeing our soaps being done on TV by veteran producers of soaps..
PP will need time to ‘get it totally right; that is just commonsense ..
I really hope the chronic complainers will zip their big whining mouths, and give PP a chance..
Is it really ness assert to charge us $7.99 a month? That’s a bit costly for many of us, as we are on a fixed income. We were your moused devoted fans for many years. Too many people feel it’sout of wack and we won’t pay to see them shows.
Hulu is free.
I myself cant afford to pay much more…my internet bill recently went up and i have to find a different company in the next few months or ill be forced to drop it. And ill no longer be able to participate in these chats. This is why we 2day cant afford much and it hurts the economy…tv use to be free(well, it still is if u use an aerial ect.) and there is hardly anything you can get thats free that use to be free. But hulu is free(but you never know 4 long) so thats your best way to view the soaps without the extra charge. Hopefull, itll stay that way.
Regular Hulu is free. You have a limited time to watch them. That’s what I have
been told! Hulu Plus is $7.99…
You don’t have to pay anything if you watch on regular Hulu. It is Hulu Plus that has a monthly charge. I will be watching on Hulu.
Well, I checked it real well and you get one week free. Lets go back to the adds for products, better than 8 buck a month. By the I will not zip my mouth. It’s called saying what you feel.
I will be patient and watch AMC and OLTL online, even through the growing pains! I’m just so happy that through the hard work of many folks, my shows are back!!!
As a long time viewer of AMC & OLTL I personally think 7 yr olds are pretty interesting. I loved the kids that were on these shows when they went off and had looked forward to watching them “grow Up”. However, I do understand why PP did what they did and decided to age the kids to teens and young adults hoping it will expand the audience and bring in more young adults. Sex sells and hot young bodies do as well, especially in great story lines! Good Luck PP will be waiting and watching!! Excited
I will miss teh little girl who played Emma. She was terrific. It’s good to have some little kids. And teenagers are not of interest to everyone. When I was a teen there were some teen drama and teen supercouples. But I hope they don’t dominate the show now. The little girl, I think her nane was Danielle Parker was terrific.
I loved the Emma when they were still taping in NYC (Lucy Merriam) and hated they had to recast, but I understand because they moved the show across the country.
I was pleasantly surprised at the actress they found (Danielle Parker) to play Emma in CA and grew to love her just as much!
Yes I plan on giving them a chance. Heck I think I like them already from the photos. Nu-Pete is so handsome and Nu-Miranda looks so much like Eden R. so they did a great job casting. BTW, love the sneak peek photo of Opal and Pete!
How interesting is a 7 year old? Hate to be a 7 year old in Thorstens house but i know he only meant that 4 the show! Everyone watching has to give them a chance…they have no other choice if they want to really support the show. Im willing to give them the chance to work out all the kinks and i wont judge it too quickly. And, others, please lets not go on again about the 5 year jump. Been there, done that,…now lets move on like 5 years has passed!!!
It’s all going to work out just fine! We will watch and grow with them enjoying every second because we are just so thankful to have our shows returned to us.
Listen up everyone. I have been watching both these shows since day one. Now, I do love the vets but understand why they will focus at least part of the show on the youngsters. There is nothing new about doing this in soap opera land.
As long as there are plenty of vets on the scene and some juicy stories for them, I’m in!! I will be watching and I will give them time to get it together if they need it. I am so grateful that AMC & OLTL are coming back that I will support them in any way they want me to.
I suggest everyone else that wants these shows to stick around to do the same. This IS are last chance. If they fail, there’s no shopping them out to anyone else. If Prospect Park gets the shows to air, they will own the rights for years to come, even if they cancel it.
So, who’s with me? Better yet, who’s with AMC & OLTL?
Bravo-you couldn’t have said it any better
Very well said Liz and I agree with you. This is the last chance for these shows. I have been miserable without OLTL and my friend has been miserable without AMC. Now, I will watch both shows and am willing to do whatever it takes to support both shows.
I hope people know that, between radio and television, The Guiding LIght had 72 years of broadcast history, 15 years on radio and 57 years on television. (No I am not that old.) There is no reason why AMC and OLTL cannot match and hopefully top that. These are excellent programs with excellent casts. I sincerely hope that all the fans who were so devastated by their cancellation will fully support their online return.
Great post Liz! I’m with AMC & OLTL!!!!!!!
Love ya Liz! 😉
I watched GH when the character ROBIN was that age.. still watch her all grown with a child of her own. Some characters just get more beloved as time goes by. “HOW interesting is a 7 year old”…ask anyone who watches GH..Bobbie’s daughter BJ gave her life for another to live at that age.. they can be heart-breakers and life long loved.
Just happy the shows are back…and very grateful so I am giving these shows a lot of time to work out any kinks….Just make sure Todd is back in Llanview for good
I will take them any way I can get them!!! Thank you prospect park!!!
I think it makes sense to have the kids as adults , now the next generation can give us new stories along with their parents. I am soooooooooooooooooo HAPPY we got our SOAPS BACK!!!!
As a lifetime fan of AMC, I was having difficulty accepting any change to AMC. I will say that I did enjoy the young children on the show. I also enjoyed Petey and Colby. I don’t have a problem with the aging of the children. My concern is the emphasis being played on sex. As an example, Angie is chief of staff at the hospital when David is not. To show Angie with a dress slit up to the top of her leg is just wrong. Young girls need role models. Every female and all the young people were looking sexy. The show looks like it is going to be heavy into sex scenes. Can’t we have some smart women that don’t dress sexy. My point is that the sexy thing is going to get boring really quick.
Now, having said all of that, I am looking at this rebirth of AMC as a sequel and not so much as a continuation of the original soap. This is making it easier for me to accept the changes. I am looking forward to seeing the actors that I have missed very much. I will keep watching through all the growing pains so as to give it a fair chance.
I wish the best of luck to all the actors and PP. I hope I hear screams of joy from all the fans when they see AMC and OLTL come back to life. I have signed up for Hulu Plus so I can watch on my IPad….yes, grandma knows how to use an Ipad.
Kathy, while I understand your concern, it is unfounded. Angie will not be wearing any dresses with slits up to her thigh at the hospital, or in general. Now if her and Jesse go to an event…then it makes perfect sense. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I work in an office with a strict dress code – but when I go out to a party I dress differently, sexier.
The cast photo they put out was meant to be sexy – not a reflection of their characters. This way they can attract a new (younger) audience.
I am glad you will be giving these reboots a chance and proving many wrong about grandma watching online! 🙂
Are you saying that Angie never dressed “sexy” on AMC? Cause I remember a few outfits she wore where her cleavage was right in your face. Just because Angie is a DR does not mean that she is not a woman that likes to dress sexy, obviously not at work, but I see no problem with it cause the women on AMC and OLTL have always dressed sexy…..And the men have always been Hot……gotta love soaps LOL
I am afraid AMC and OLTL are going to be taking a new twist to their programs. Showing more skin, being more sexually driven and more open with their use of
nasty talk. Personally I hope this is wrong and our shows stick to their decent family
oriented programming. When I saw that group picture of the castmates of OLTL and
Vicortia Lord Bucannon sitting in her classy black sparkly dress with her legs crossed and a slit from her knee to her hip: I thought Victoria would never dress like that.
I am not interested in a future of sex starved individuals. Sorry but my attention span won’t last long
The shows are going slightly more sexy and may or may not use expletives but they both have Agnes Nixon as a consultant on set and if you trust no one else trust Agnes to not let the shows she created go to far with anything.
Actors who are children can be even more effective than hollywood’s typical models turned actors. Child actress quevenzhane wallis has no prior acting experience and she already has an academy award nomination. No experience necessary really for acting. While thorsten kaye’s other soap smash has tons of broadway and film and reality tv show veterans. Yet that musical soap is a low rated mess w/c had to be moved to saturdays bec of its dwindled audience share. Heck nbc is such a flop that Latino american channel Univision has higher total ratings. One of its telenovelas has higher ratings than all its direct tv show competish from abc and cbs and fox and of course low rated nbc. Clearly there’s an audience for more racially diverse tv shows bec Univision has toppled nbc. Yet hollywood lacks a lot of racial diversity from practically all their soaps and majority of their tv shows.
I am happy to have these shows back and I’ll take them any way I can get them!
There has always been characters and story lines that someone doesn’t like. You cannot please everyone all the time. But that doesn’t mean you stop watching, that doesn’t mean you don’t still love the show. If anything it shows how passionate we are about our TV families and love to discuss them.
I look forward to seeing them through the ‘growing pains’ and watching this ‘younger” set grow and have the kids… 🙂
And a big THANK YOU to Prospect Park, the Globe, Michael Fairman an especially the FANS for making this happen! We rock!
Just watched and cannot believe this whole thing. It is a disaster and I, for one, do not plan to watch. Hate the new demographic (it sucks in real life, so why watch it on my computer?). I feel pity for the great old stars of AMC – they are so very talented. So sad that they have to stoop to this to make money. How about the theater, where your true acting skills would shine. This just looks like another ridiculous, banal blabber fest from a lot of empty-headed young wanna bees who will probably never bees! Thorsten, David (both of you), Debbie and Darnell. What a waste that you have to be involved in this. You can, however, keep Jordi. He’s so hard-up, he’ll go to the opening of a door! I find him truly repulsive!!!
Sorry folks, just how I feel and how I have felt right along.
Well, if you “don’t plan to watch”, why are you here?
Don’t you believe in giving something a fair chance? They have some very talented actors on board and some excellent writers as well. I’m happy that ALL MY CHILDREN is back and Internet viewing and new viewing devices are the window to the future. Broadcast TV will eventually fade away as more and more people choose Internet Entertainment.
Well, Johnny, I am here because AMC was and still is my favorite program – with the original cast – and I continue to watch on SOAPNET. And what is currently on is taking place BEFORE the ridiculous Castillo family plot line appeared. What a relief!
I like Michael Fairman and what he writes and so I am here, on his site, reading to stay current. I was as curious and thrilled as anyone else as to what was to become of AMC. But my choice was television – not the internet. I hate the net and am, unfortunately, at the mercy of having to use it. But to watch the banality that is coming down the pike – I DON’T THINK SO. The original AMC stars who have signed on are all actors I adore. Not only adore, but admire. They are as good, if not better, than what you get on the big screen, out of Hollywood. That is why I am sad about this being the best work they could scrounge up. And as I said, my opinion of the youth out there today is that they are dumb, boring, have no knowledge about most things, use the worst grammar, on and on. Not compelling to watch at all. i.e., the characters Colby and Damon and you have stupidity and a totally boring story line. A huge amount of that seems to have been cast for the new AMC. Well, it’s not for me, no way, no how!. Not even tempting to watch.
So, Johnny, hope that satisfies your curiosity and your judgement!
Hey listen Jas, I wasn’t pronouncing a Judgement on you in any way. If you don’t want to watch, that’s fine, don’t watch.
I understand that it’s not like the “old days” of ABC-TV’s “All My Children” but I think it is great that the shows are back, and the storylines could be great.
When you say “I don’t intend to watch” – before the shows have even aired – aren’t YOU passing judgement on something without (at least) giving it an honest try?
But still, that’s your decision and your choice –
OH YEAH!!! BIG PROBLEM!! HULU REQUIRES A CREDIT CARD TO JUST SIGN UP!!!! AND IT’S FREE BUT REQUIRES A CARD!!! HOW MANY PEOPLE DON’T HAVE CREDIT CARD ANYMORE??!! OR HAVE EVER HAD THEM?? Personally mine is maxed out & cut in half! ( lol-but not lol really) I JUST TRIED TO SIGN UP AND IT REQUIRES A CARD!! AND I KNOW FROM PAST EXPERIENCE THAT WHEN THEY REQUIRE ONE BUT PROMISE NOT TO CHARGE AGAINST IT… THEY DON’T…BUT IT HAS TO BE A VALID! CARD ! ONE ATTACHED TO YOUR NAME! YOU KNOW.. SO THEY KNOW THEY CAN GET SOME POTENTIALLY OUT OF YOU! & of course if I had one I would end up paying for the “PLUS” instead of keeping the FREE! ….. PROBLEM! & NOT JUST FOR ME! ?????
Oh. I think you’re REALLY WRONG DUDE!! About people leaving traditional tv !! & going to Internet!!! WAKE UP ! YOU MUST BE AN ELITEST RICH SNOB! LIVING IN YOUR OWN LITTLE WORLD THAT YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW THAT HALF!! 1/2!!! HALF!! OF AMERICA DOES NOT HAVE INTERNET NOR DO THEY DATA PHONES!!!!! DUDE! Or CHIC!! Whoever belongs to what I read above!! And I Thought I lived in my own little world!!! OMG ! & I DO! But at least IM AWARE OF THE REALITY OF THIS COUNTRY!! & EVEN FEWER PEOPLE ARE GOING TO HAVE THE LUXURIES IN THIS COUNTRY AND MAKE NO MISTAKE… INTERNET & DATA PHONES ARE LUXURIES!!! IF THE PERSON HOLDING THE HIGHEST OFFICE PASSES HIS NEW LAW ALLOWING A PRESIDENT TO SERVE FOR MORE THAN 2 TERM!!! MIDDLE CLASS IS ALMOST EXTICT NOW!! SMELL THE COFFEE FOLKS!! All posting your opinions ( just as I am) on your APPLE OR ?? YOU ARE STILL THE MINORITY! & a few households have to SHARE their laptops or computers!! Just saying, we all need to have HOPE! & BE LOYAL TO OUR SOAPS BUT LET’S NOT BE IGNORANT TO REALITY!!

Mark Consuelos Mourns the Loss of His Father
Saul Consuelos, the father of All My Children alum and Live with Kelly and Mark co-host, Mark Consuelos (ex0-Mateo, AMC), has died. During an emotional moment on this mornings, April 6 edition of the syndicated talk show, Mark shared, that his dad, “passed away peacefully” back on March 23 following a long illness.
His wife and co-host, Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC) paid tribute to her her father-in-law expressing, he was, “the greatest person I’ve ever known. I can honestly say I will miss him every day for the rest of my life, as I know you will, as our children will. He really is so symbolic of everything you are.”
Kelly and Mark’s children, Joaquin, Michael and Lola Consuelos are said to be taking this extremely hard. Ripa added, “This is the first loss they’ve ever experienced in their lives. And I said, ‘By the time I was 8, I had no grandparents. You got to grow up (with grandparents). You got to have deep, meaningful conversations (with them).”

In another moment, Mark reflected on his dad. “It’s funny, I used to make a joke about my dad … if you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how to build a watch. There were a lot of lectures, a lot of lectures and I learned so much. If he was fixing something in the house, he’d make me watch and do it. And I didn’t know at the time why he was doing that. But now at the house, I’m able to do at least half of the stuff that he did. I learned the most by just watching him.”
Mark added that Saul Consuelos came to the U.S. from Mexico in his early teens and served our county for decades, detailing, he “Ended up at Special Operations Command in Tampa. This young kid from Mexico just got his education from the navy. Was always going to school. Was brilliant. Got his Masters while I was a kid. He loved his country so much, If you’re going to put a face to an immigrant, he would be the prime example of what this country promises people.”
In a very heart-tugging moment, Consuelos shared that now its important they be there for his mother, Camilla. “We gotta take care of mom. We’re trying to convince my mom to move to New York. She’s such a character, she’s stubborn. What do you think, a cooking segment here on Fridays with Camilla?”
Now below, watch the very touching and emotional moments as Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa mourn the loss of Saul Consuelos.

Sarah Michelle Gellar Visits ‘The View’ Where Hosts Sidestep Controversial ‘Buffy’ Reboot Axing, But Talk ‘All My Children’
On yesterday’s March 17 episode of The View, All My Children alum, Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart), was the special guest. Since Monday, Gellar has been the subject of a hot-button issue since about the surprising turn of events that the highly-anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, in which she stars, and which was directed in the pilot by Oscar-winning director, Chloé Zhao, was no longer moving forward.
Gellar‘s appearance on the ABC morning talk show was devoid of any mention of Hulu cancelling its planned Buffy: New Sunnydale, in which Sarah was set to appear along with Ryan Kiera Armstrong. However, Gellar did discuss her new movie Ready or Not 2: Here I Come from Searchlight Pictures.
It should be noted that both Hulu and Searchlight Pictures are owned by The Walt Disney Company, while The View is produced by ABC News, which is also owned by The Walt Disney Company.

During the awkward interview, when it became clear the ‘Buffy’ reboot topic was off the table, The View co-host Sunny Hostin, talked about the “intense fight scenes” that have become a staple of her TV and film career starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream 2, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.
The ladies of The View also brought up Sarah’s beginnings on All My Children as Kendall Hart (1993-1995), showing a scene with her and her on-screen mother, the iconic Erica Kane, played by Susan Lucci. The discussion sprung out of another All My Children alum, Michael B. Jordan (ex-Reggie Montgomery) winning the Oscar this past Sunday for Best Actor for his role in Sinners. The View’s Joy Behar was quick to point out with Gellar, the All My Children alums that have gone on to great fame.

Photo: ABC
Previously on Monday, Gellar opened up to PEOPLE about being blindsided before while at the SXSW Film & TV Festival premiere for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come. “I got the call as we were stepping onto stage for the premiere of their own movie. And it’s also the weekend of Chloé going to the Oscars as a best director nominee for Hamnet. For them to call us on the Friday of what should have been Chloé’s victory lap for an incredible film, and my world premiere of something that I worked very hard for is… that says something.”
She went to say, “We had an executive on our show who was not only not a fan of the original, but was proud to constantly remind us that he had never seen the entirety of the series and how it wasn’t for him.” Deadline reports that “multiple sources” identified the executive as Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich.
“I loved the duality that we had with this new, younger slayer who was where Buffy was when the show started, and then we would pick up with where Buffy was now,” Gellar told People about the setup. However, according also to Deadline “After the pilot was completed and delivered, according to multiple sources, Hulu’s main note was that it played too young, with some indicating that the streamer also felt the show was too “small.”’
In the rewrite, sources also told the outlet that the writers did not take big enough swings, so they set out to do a rewrite it again. The last revision was more adult, featuring a lot more of Gellar’s Buffy, and was described as a more of a streaming show than a network one. When all is said and done there is hope that another Buffy IP will be up and running within the next couple of years.
You can check out Sarah Michelle Gellar’s full segment on The View below. Now let us know, bummed there is no Buffy reboot? What do you think about how this high profile Hollywood saga was side-stepped on the morning show? Did you love Sarah as the original Kendall Hart on All My Children?
