General Hospital
GENERAL HOSPITAL: Alexis Breaks Three Years of Sobriety, Carly Locks Up Nelle, Nikolas & Liz Continue to Reconnect
On Friday’s episode of General Hospital, after downing a drink at a bar, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) held off on a second one, but unfortunately and sadly lost her sobriety of three years. When she called people in her life to come get her out of the bar and home, no one was available, so she called none other than her ex Julian (William deVry).
And it was Julian to the rescue, who also took the legal eagle to an AA meeting. The car ride between them was not all pleasant, especially when Alexis went down memory lane for a moment and recalled when Julian held a knife at her throat. After the fallout with Neil (Joe Flanagan), she wondered why she ruins all her relationships … consistently.

Elsewhere. Michael (Chad Duell) is trying to get Nelle (Chloe Lanier) to sign and authorize the heart defect surgery on Wiley. Michael said they need both parents signature on the consent forms and Nelle is refusing to sign. When Carly (Laura Wright) finds out she is ready to handle Nelle and goes up on the hospital rooftop to confront her. Once there, she tells Nelle this is her chance to get people over to her side by signing the consent to let her son have the surgery he needs. Carly also tells her that Wiley is her leverage. If she lets her son die, she has nothing to hold over everybody. And still, after all of that, Nelle refuses to sign. So, resourceful Carly locks Nelle in and up on the roof so she can’t leave! Will Nelle come to her senses for a few seconds and sign the papers? Previously, Nelle told Michael her kidney surgery basically ruined her life, so she does not want to do the same thing to their son.

Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) is worried about Cameron (William Lipton) and so she sets him up with a therapy session with Neil. Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) happens by the hospital after getting Ava (Maura West) squared away with Franco (Roger Howarth) for his portrait painting of her in the art room. He runs into Liz and she shares her concerns for Cameron, and how familiar it is to he,r and how traumatized he must be – having two incidents where he was basically kidnapped within a years time. She bring up how when she was raped when she was younger that Emily, Lucky and Nikolas were there for her. Are Nikolas and Liz growing closer again? Are Ava and Franco?
And … leave it to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) to get what she wants …. and what she wants is to hit the hay with Julian, after Julian hit her up late after dropping off Alexis. Is he on the rebound from his car talk with Alexis? Or, is she just so into Britt for some fun?
So, were you upset that Alexis drank? Do you like Britt and Julian hooking-up? Will Carly get Nelle to sign the consent forms for Wiley’s surgery? And, are you intrigued by a redux of a Liz and Nikolas romance? Comment below.
Britt is using Julian to help Brad-to find out if he tampered on Brad’s car but a plot twist could be she falls in love with him but hopefully not another prego story…this could backfire on Carly who i hate takes control over others stories…would had been at least better had someone else locked Nelle there like Monica-think it might backfire on Carly or something goes wrong like Nelle feared…what bugs me now we get this baby switch story moving ahead and Days is now doing one of their own with a dead baby switched with a live one…
Oh.its obvious Willow will marry Micheal(dumb plot as Nelle dont have to have a husband-there is such thing as one parent families but i get the cliched plot device) …but Willow has a hidden motive and no better than Nelle is just doing that to get to Wiley as a replacement for the lost child she still grieves for-i think they done this on a Lifetime movie like 100 times!!!!
Here’s what’s likely to happen….
The fake marriage of Mikey & Willow seems obvious at this point. But Nelle is in no way a long term character. She’s going to be a resident of Hell sooner rather than later, and if she happens to die before the custody battle in court, then you have a situation with Mikey married to the woman who THOUGHT she was Wiley’s mommy for over a year. And Mikey & Willow certainly had some level of attraction to each other during that time, bonding over their grief classes (or whatever that whole thing was). It’s completely logical that they might end up as a functional family unit.
Chase & Sasha won’t like it, obviously. But who knows.. they could always console each other in their grief, and then Chase could be there for her when she finds out she’s related to either Nina or Cyrus the Virus (or both)
I agree—-the same thought occurred to me, as you say, there was that attraction between Willow and Michael when they first met.—-Whether it was the bond they shared after each lost his/her child.
Regardless, these two are thrown at each other—the outcome? They will end up falling in love. Chase and Sasha will evenyually end up together because there’s no one else around! Ha—
My disappointment is—-neither couple exudes any sexual tension. Blah–no Ahhhh or Ohhhh–or YEEEESSSS!! Bland; all four of them. Boring!!
You must be safe down there, Satan—ain’t no virus gonna get you!! Covid-19 hates heat!! Keep on staying safe.
I havent seen my husband in two weeks!!
Many of the medical staff “reside” in makeshift lodgings—
I pray for every single care-giver; first responders; anyone involved in doing his/her best TOGETHER to defeat this malignant beast. No recriminations; no hate; no finger pointing—I grow weary of the blame game—WE ARE AMERICAN!! Brothers and sisters!! In God we trust. You, too—fallen Archangel……God’s right hand man, Lucifer, until you fell from grace.
I pray for you, as well–
Be safe EVERONE—follow protocal —hard to do sometimes, with young children—We simply do not go out!!
Ciao—
You may be right, Jimmy….Julian deserves to get the worst due him.
I am enjoying Nelle—not that I want the baby with her. She is not meontally stable. But, is she?
I love watching Carly squirm. Whath can I say.!? Chloe is one of the best actresses, in my opinion; as bad as the character is—–
She plays the deranged misfit to the hilt.
Oh, before I forget—-Sasha is getting on my nerves—
Who is Nina’s daughter? We have three choices –Nelle, Sasha and Willow—triplets? Twins?
it would be a neat little plot twist if Nelle was Nina’s as Nina is plotting against her but yes..triplets as i couldnt make up my mind who should really be Nina’s daughter…havent heard from a few posters like Shay, Harry, Mary SF and a few other-hope they are ok!!!
The writers are teasing us, Jimmy. I bet they have yet to decide who the “winner” is. But, you’re right—-It would be so ironic if Nelle turned out to be Nina’s daughter.
Remember ( back in the day) when we were almost sure Nelle was it?
Then Willow happened—and then Sasha. Yet, it would also be “a neat little twist” if Sasha ended up the “winner” ( some may consider the winner a “loser”, LOL). After all of Valentin’s machinations and Sasha’s complicity and lies; she turns out to be Nina’s daughter after-all?
I miss Shay, Jimmy—-the above posters you mention haven’t been posting for months—-perhaps they are working from home.
Obviously, I’m not teaching—-lockdown may stay in place until the end of the school year.
I hope everyone is well, also.
Shay, if you read this? Say hi! ❤️
‘Til we “meet” again, Jimmy!! ❤️
I do hope Seniors out of school will still be able to get their diplomas….
You’re too funny, Jimmy—we need to laugh!! Thank you—stay well!!
Hey, CeeCeeGirl!!!! Great minds think alike…I was just wondering how you were faring and wanted to check in to make sure you and yours were safe and sound through this health crisis! (And by the way, thanks for the shoutout!) Hope all is as well as can be expected in the Hamptons during these trying times….I noticed that the city folk have been invading your patch for safe shelter and stripping bare the supermarket shelves!!! My, oh, my!!! I made sure to be prepared weeks ago, so for us it’s just a matter of hunkering down and riding out this storm…we will prevail!!! Of course, I also chose this particular thread since I wanted to comment upon…whom else???…LOL! So, my favorite whipping post, Alexis, is falling off the wagon (again?) Now there’s an original idea….Who woulda thunk it???? (Tsk, tsk) I’m sure there will also be plenty of bar-hopping sloppy sex with strangers thrown in for good measure….this is Alexis of whom we are speaking, after all!!!!! Uh huh!!! Anyway, I read your previous comments regarding the (STILL) ongoing saga of Anna and Pete…OMG…I’ve been “self-isolating” from GH since last Thanksgiving and you mean to tell me the show runners have yet to come up with a storyline to pin his maternity on her twin sis? For shame, for shame! Free Anna from her Mommy chains!!! She deserves much, much better than Faison’s issue as a son!!!! Having said that—-for the umpteenth time, in fact—it’s been great to touch base with you once again, mia amica….sorry it took so long!!!! (I promise to get back into the posting groove!) Take care and best wishes to all your New York friends and family. God Bless!!!
Hiya, Shay, ma belle—-
This is the second time around trying to post—-my iPad keeds goingnoff on me—so, you may get double posts.
I am soooo happy to hear from you.—desperately seeking Shay!! LOL.
We are doing well. Thank you—I hope all is well with you and your family.
Yes, ’tis true—everyone is fighting over toilet paper these days. Lol. It’s just not the Hamptons. People in MA get on ferries to MV leaving the only two supermarkets’ shelves on that island bare.
Ferries should stop running—some people are hawks and dogs—inconsiderate mongrels.
We are still moving next month, albeit this house will not sell very soon—still on the market. Real estate is at a standstill because of Covid-19—-I can’t even get professional help to pack all this stuff. I can’t believe what one can accumulate in ten years.
My siblings are helping me—but, my brothers turn every situation into a joke. Grown men still teasing me and my twin—never stops.
Anyway, it is not fair for the writers to walk Alexis back into her darkness. Nancy is a pro—excellent actress and to keep her glued in one disasterous spot is getting old.
I think Neil is good for her—definitely better than the He-Man -Julian.
Seems to me that both she and Julian are dying to go at it again. Hmmmm—the end result? ….Sixty-something Alexis is pregnant through devine intervention. One question? Who’s the baby daddy?
Well, Shay—-you made my day, mia cara!!
Stay well and “talk” soon—much love.❤️
It was most excellent to hear from you, too, CeeCeeGirl! You’ve been missed—as have our “conversations!”(I actually sent you a new year’s greeting on—of all threads—the NLG engagement one, but I never heard back from you….beyond that, I’ve posted very little as of late, save for the Marj Dusay and Orson Bean obit pages…) Needless to add, it’s good to be back! Now then, ahem, for Alexis…Get ready (LOL!) The last thing we need is a redux of that stale scenario of her sloshing it up and schlamping around…been there, done that! (Be it with Julian or any other conveniently-accessible male!) Since you have stated that NLG has the capabilities to handle whatever is thrown at her, how about thinking outside the typical Alexis box for a change? I’d love to see her embrace celibacy in order to “find herself” or better yet, get she to a nunnery! (What a hoot that would be although it would probably require the entire order to keep her away from the sacramental wine!) And I still maintain an experimental dip in the ladypond wouldn’t go amiss for this sexually-obsessed creature….maybe THAT would finally put to rest her Julian “jones!” (By the way, I like the idea of him trysting with Britt…they do make such an erotically pretty couple!) At any rate, those are just a few bold suggestions for emancipating Alexis from “ the old mold” in which she has been too long cast…what say you, mia amica? As for your own personal drama of moving home base, what a moment in which to be doing so, but best of luck with that monumental task! (Oh, just be sure to stock up on enough toilet paper for your new abode! Only kidding….and yes, you are most correct that specific hoarding phenomenon has become the national pastime across all areas of the country…what is it with people? I don’t get it….were they previously only purchasing it one roll at a time? We always keep our “supply closet” full with plenty of extra items in the event of an emergency, so I have not had the pleasure of participating in that particular current buying frenzy…Thank God!) Well, must be going for now…hope everything stays as fine as it can be for you and yours during these trying times….I’m staying put as much as is humanly possible for the foreseeable future! “Home Sweet Home” has never looked sweeter! Later….
Shaybelle—-beautiful Shaybelle!!
I honestly don’t recall that particular post from you . I’m so sorry. All I can say is —blame it on the holidays? LOL. I would never ignore you, carissima!!
Back to Alexis—-funny you mention “nunnery”—-I actually had long English/Humanities classes and lectures on the bawdy Shakespearean “talk”—- As everyone else, HAMLET was one of the plays on the curricula in High School. —-But, it wasn’t until University that deep examination of images, words, analogies etc. came to light.
So, Your wit here has surfaced again. Are you saying Alexis belongs in a “Nunnery”?!?!?!? LOL. A real nunnery with nuns?—in Shakespeare-Speak; ’tis a brothel!! Oh, my!! HaHa.
I do agree with you—that is; Alexis should be given a break from men. Allow her to find hersel. I have said this many times. Sometimes the PTB make characters appear desperate and inadequate—-women CAN survive without men in their lives. I actually think the opposite is true —-most men have a hard time living life without a partner..
So, this devil-may-care attitude and the dependence on sex to find meaning in her life is going against all mental stability.
Obviously, Alexis conflates sex with love—while she may surrender to the pleasure, she, nonetheless, returns to earth lacking “something” in the aftermath.
The writers should examine that and build a story around it. What trauma did this character undergo? Something sexually obscure in her childhood, which she mentally erased? I fell pity for her right now—sanctimonious, spoiled brat Sam should give her mother a break!!
Anyway, I am soooo trying to get my little girl to learn some basics geared toward Kindergarteners ( and she is a very smart child), but she tells me she wants to be a FASHIONISTA—in other words—-no schooing needed? Where did I go wrong?? She actually tells me what top goes with what skirt/ pants.
Just the opposite of her brother.’—til we meet again—-don’t forget to wash your hands one hundred times a day. LOL.
Ciao, bella—
❤️
@CeeCeeGirl……As I’ve twice failed in my attempted responses to your last post, I’m forwarding this short and sweet reply with hopes the third time will prove the charm:
“Best Wishes For A Blessed Easter” to your loved ones and YOU, mia amica! May it be a safe, peaceful holiday weekend for all those in your life! Take care…
Thank you, Shay—-same to you and yours. A very quiet Easter. So far so good—we are all well.—wish you the best of health—and everyone in the world!! God is good!!
Take care, bellezza!!❤️
Hey, CeeCeeGirl! Happy May!!! I’m finally sending a much belated thank you for your lovely Easter greeting! We also observed a quiet, low-key holiday which was greatly enhanced by the beautiful Bocelli concert playing in the background….did you per chance see/hear it? (Magnifico-oh-oh-oh!) Since you’ve been absent for awhile, I thought I would inquire as to how you and yours were faring! (Jimh has been missing you, too…He gave us both a very kind shoutout on the latest Emmy thread…) All is well on my end….still hanging in there and doing our utmost to stay healthy!!! (Been listening to a lot of post “Take On Me” a-ha tunes as of late….they really are quite inspiring and uplifting! Gotta love those sweet Norwegians!) Anyway, as I am so NOT up on GH, I will ask YOU what Alexis is up to….still drinking and sniffing around Julian? (Have they done the dirty deed yet again…and again…and again??? Hmmm…so much for “social distancing!” LOL!!!) By the way, I do agree with your thoughtful insights on her character…there truly is a font of deep dysfunction in her personal psyche upon which some very interesting storylines could be divined, and I do so wish that they would be tapped instead of the usual “wine and men” options to which Alexis clearly appears to be limited. (It needn’t be nearly so severe as my own somewhat tongue-in-cheek “cathouse vs convent” conundrum, but a meaningful exploration of the cursed Cassadine clan’s long term negative influence upon this woman’s life choices would certainly not go amiss!!!!)Then again, I suppose whilst we could offer up all the explanations in the world for why Alexis is so messed up, they still would not excuse her crummy conduct. At the end of the day, she simply is what she is, n’est-ce pas??? We either like it or lump it!!! Well, must be going…hope you remain safe and in good health/spirits during these trying times…Later, mia amica! P.S. Have you finished the “big move?”
Hello, Shaybelle,
I apologize for taking my time responding—–
I am split into a million pieces—I feel like Figaro, LOL.
The virtual teaching takes up most of my time, especially in the morning—preparing lessons ( at times geared towards individual students, who need the extra attention)——
I have actually been missing out on TV shows——-albeit, I did find the time last night—Halmark’s new season of THE GOOD WITCH—-love that show!!
We are hoping to move everything on the eleventh—-so, imminent!! Because of Covid-19, we had to do our own packing ( with my siblings’ help), due to social distancing.
As far as Alexis—-I truly feel for her predicament. It’s a psychological “attitude”, for lack of a more suitable word, which is, unfortunately, so predominantly virulent in all sicieties. Perfect opportunity for the writers to delve into Alexis’ psyche—-explore her past through therapy—-it would make a compelling storyline.
Well, amica bella—it’s 6:15 AM on this side of the Mississippi—-back to the grindstone!!
Soon….❤️
Thanks for your response, CeeCeeGirl! (No need to apologize for the slightly delayed reply…I’m just glad to hear that you are well and thriving, albeit crazy-busy! I’ll pass on that info to Jimh…he was worried about you!) Having said that, I can just imagine how much time is involved in lesson-planning for your online classes. Whilst not an ideal long-term teaching situation, I’ve no doubt you continue to make the material as interesting and impactful as possible for your students!!! (Which, in my opinion, already place your lessons a notch above GH’s storylines!) Of course, you are all too aware that one of my biggest bugaboos regarding the show is the continued lack of character development and how it negatively affects the soap viewing experience, since I find it difficult to invest in any scenario that only relies upon actions without explanations for the motivations and backstories of those behind said behavior. And, yes, Alexis is a prime example of that particular complaint…I simply fail to believe that any person, real or fictional, would continue to fall into such familiar patterns and bad choices without questioning why or seeking to modify the destructive conduct which makes their lives ever chaotic…especially for a woman purported to be so “brilliant!!!” Nothing would be better for Alexis than to break her “boozing and boinking” cycle and turn her energies toward some truly constructive self-discovery efforts…as you have so rightfully observed, it would make for a compelling (not to mention, welcome) turn in this character’s onscreen activities! Although I doubt our wishes will be fulfilled, it’s still a worthy notion to offer up to the soap gods in the hope our pleas will ultimately be heard! At any rate, it was a delight to hear from you, mon amie!!! May you and yours continue to stay safe and sound as you transition to your lovely new abode! Later…
I found this…good to hear you both doing well…cant wait for Nina to learn Nelle is her daughter….that will probably happen at the trial..Nina will testify against Nelle…Nelle and Nina will have a confrontation…shocker!…Nina will notice Nelle wearing that necklace!!!
Hi, Jimmy—-haven’t forgotten about you!! Life just keeps happening. LOL. Catching a breather, today.
I am anticipating the same for Nina and Nelle. Yet, I feel this inexplicable thing —-you know; thing? HaHa—I don’t think Sasha or Willow are out of the picture. Everything seems to point to Nelle—I don’t know. I felt that “thing” with Kiki. Look how miserably I failed….I was so wroooong!!!!! But, having Nelle as Nina’s long, lost daughter is so compelling because it’s too gross in the viewer’s head. Great, disturbing twist. And, just as twisted, is my brain—-why? I love Chloe, the actress!! She’s got the IT factor.
Something else that is piquing and picking my brain is the four-way relationship of Franco, Ava, Lizzie and Nikolas. Where are these four headed? Franco and Ava find each other?—as do Nik and Liz?
Stay safe, my friend!! Wash your hands, disinfect, don’t touch your face, don’t touch your eyes—-
How do we do that? If your face or eyes itch, the natural instinct is to rub, or scratch—not ignoring ptotocol, just forgetting it. LOL.
❤️
Maybe they are the next Bob, Carol, Ted, and Alice??…lol…yep, i wash my hands, disinfect, and its difficult to avoid a face itch…thank God i can still scratch that itch on my back side-ok, kidding-lol
there you are…playing where is waldo with us-lol…good to hear…i was suppose to move myself as well but Covid 19 delayed that and i lost money(was suppose to sell stuff and now i cant for now…back to GH i see a custody hearing over Wylie…Nina testifying against Nelle..and angry Nelle confronts Nina..then the shock..Nina sees Nelle wearing that necklace and realizing she is her daughter!!!
Hello there, Jimh!!! Thank you for your very thoughtful message of concern…it was most appreciated!!! I am just fine and hope you are doing well, too…I’ve really missed my MF buddies at this website, and as I wrote to Celia, have been meaning to post for awhile now, but just didn’t quite get around to doing so before tonight! (Although I’ve been lurking and reading your always interesting/amusing comments as often as possible over these last few months! It’s nice to know that you remain present and accounted for in ”Fairmanville!” Thanks for keeping things fun and fresh!) As for the latest GH happenings, well, whilst I persist in my dislike of the character of Nina, I’m sure you were as delighted as was I to see the return of “The Britch” and her prison visit with “Mutter Dearest!!!” Lol…Now that’s daytime at its best!!! May this mother-daughter duo from H#!! soon be reunited on the hospital floor to bring more of their twisted form of mirth and merriment to Port Charles!!! (YES!) Beyond that, I’ve nothing save for my usual objections to Alexis..as per already outlined to CeeCee, so I shall spare you the details!!! However, in terms of “real life,” please take care and stay safe and healthy during this unprecedented national emergency….May we all check back here in these coming weeks to stay apprised of each others’ welfare!!!!! Later, my friend!
At first i thought-is that really Shay or someone pretending to be her…than i read your comments and knew its the real Shay…i guess i watch too much GH-lol…
Why doesn’t Michael go to Court and get a judge to order the surgery?
Michael said he had Diane working on that, but Carly wanted to take action immediately and went to talk to Nelle.
In the real world, Nelle wouldn’t even have a chance to be alone with her son—-custody? Only happens in soapland.
It still boggles the mind that Sonny and Carly have Avery. Carly is not fit to be a mother either—for her to throw stones at Nelle is laughable. The same goes for Bobbi.
All these once-degenerate mothers and fathers ( or so I read—only been watching for a few years) are now sainted and blessed by the Holy Spirit. Uffa.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.
