GENERAL HOSPITAL: Alexis’ Life Further Implodes, Olivia Vows Revenge, Nina’s About to Get the Truth

Friday’s episode of General Hospital brought with it excellent performances, and continues to be the show in recent months that has given us the best cliffhangers week after week.

In story, Alexis, who has now been taken into police custody for attacking Franco, (but instead ends up injecting Dante with a syringe filled with an overdose of lidocaine), is with Mac who tries to make her see how her drinking has completely trashed her life, and on her birthday no less!  Mac says she’ll be charged with murder if Dante dies; even though Alexis says she was only trying to protect Sam from Franco.

Olivia, who is beside herself heads to General Hospital, where she learns Dante is in critical condition and that Alexis is the one who gave him the injection which put him in this state.  When she finds out more details of what happened to her son, she is even more confused as to why Dante would run-in to save Franco.

Now in the chapel, Robert joins her and tries to console her.  Ned shows up and Robert tells him to leave after figuring out from Olivia that Alexis and Ned slept together.  After praying for Dante, Olivia leaves the chapel and outside of it, swears she will get revenge on Alexis and make her pay for having an affair with her husband and now almost killing her son!

Back at the police station, Mac believes Alexis’ life crumbled to pieces because of Julian Jerome, and she is now throwing her life away, again.  Mac gets a call from the hospital where he learns that Dante will survive, but he tells Alexis she is being charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder.

Monica learns from Ned and Tracy what happened while she was at a medical conference and how Tracy framed Alexis.  Monica urges Tracy to hightail it out of the country.  It’s the only way Ned will forgive her for what she did.  Later, a police officer shows up with a warrant for Tracy, but Monica says Tracy is not at the Q’s and has left the country.

At the Metro Court following the Sasha/Jackie interview, Nina, who is reeling that Sasha had the other half of the necklace she believes was with her true bio-daughter, puts the two pieces together and Carly’s cover-up begins to become exposed.  Michael tells Nina that Avery found the necklace in the woods near the family cabin. He then shares that the last person to stay at the cabin, as far as he knows, was Nelle when she kidnapped Wiley.   Then, Valentin reminds everyone that Phyllis took Nina’s baby to Florida; which prompts Michael to share that Nelle was from Florida. Carly is really squirming now.   Nina wonders if Nelle is her daughter then.  Jax says he cannot lie to her anymore and needs to tell her the truth! Carly is busted, unless Jax says something else?  We won’t know till Monday’s episode!

Courtesy/ABC

Elsewhere, Phyllis takes Sonny (aka Mike) to get checked out at the clinic for his mental state.  Sonny is very manic and feels there is nothing wrong with him and he is on top of the world.  The doctor checks the blood work Sonny had previously and reveals there was a trace of lithium in it, leading to the conclusion that “Mike” has bipolar disorder.  Phyllis, who shares that she did a bad thing in her lifetime (the Nina baby ordeal) that she regrets, wants “Mike” to take the pill.  He apparently does, but with a smile. Did he swallow the pill?

Throughout the show, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), Lisa LoCicero, (Olivia) Jane Elliot (Tracy), Cynthia Watros (Nina) and Maurice Benard (Sonny) all had moments that kept us riveted to the episode.

So, what do you think Olivia will do to Alexis?  Will Nina learn the whole truth and nothing but the truth from Jax?  Share your thoughts via the comment section below.

Nina returns with her husband-Morgan!

Jimh
Did you mean Nel?

Yes..i meant Nelle…

All in for vengeful Olivia! You don’t scorn a girl from Bensonhurst and get away with it. (Okay, maybe Ava got away with what she did to Connie, but I digress).

Hopefully Tracy will be cleared to return home for another annual visit at the end of the year. At that point, she can meet her great grandchild.

One down, one to go… the Nina’s daughter reveal is finally unraveling. Next up, time for Heinrich to get his comeuppance.

Really nice to see Carly squirm for a bit. She’s been on that high horse for quite a while. With Sonny presumed dead and Nina probably furious with Jax, could a temporary CarJax reunion be in the works?

Nancy/Alexis is giving us a powerful performance.
She is bringing it home.

Franco- he had zero control with 1st tumor
and with the 2nd- I don’t believe that’s his problem,
it’s the mind/exchange that’s the problem this time.

As for that the heart necklace junk-
well, I’d luv to put that heart where the sun doesn’t shine
and get it out of my face.

I’m waiting for the Cassadine, that Helena feared,
to become who and what he is a true Cassisine and
that Valentin will give me earthshaking chaos suspense.

Dante’s story is junk- the writers could have done much better with the character.

Sonny- I would like for him to return home
and find Jax and Carly in bed doing the nasty.

And- that irritating Sam- I’d punch her out
and chain in the basement lock the door
and throw the key away.

GH has improved greatly and I can only hope the
writing will keep on keeping with the good storytelling.

SuOOO
I agree with most of what you said except I think it would be more fun for him to find Carly and Jason together. They are all over each other as it is. Who does Sonny run to whenever he has a hangnail?

hi Violet 🙂 Hope you are doing well.

Carly and Jason, I dunno- they don’t have the
hot sex thing between them, in my opinion.

But- whichever, I’d like to have Carly with someone doing the nasty..

I always wanted Ava and Sonny as a couple.
Them as a couple would make for some good stories and Sonny, in ways, would have met his match (old Ava version).

Longtime couples are beyond boring, nothing new or different just ho-hum.

I want Valentin to come alive!!!
I need a true blood Cassisine wreaking havoc
I miss the spellbinding hanging on the edge Cassisines..

Dante is and always will be a bust! Cut him!

I agree with you with practically everything you stated: Valentin -agree ; Sonny catching Carly- agree ; irritating Sam – doubly agree . Oh wait a minute- I said practically ; I’m changing that to everything that you said! Good job!

Olivia on the warpath? That maniac Alexis finally getting the wakeup call? I’m looking forward to some fun. Carly being the center of Nina’s baby drama? Not so much. And I’ll be sorry if/when Chase is revealed as Finn’s son. Chase is so adorable when he’s around his big bro; he can barely stop smiling. It’s bad enough that smug, self-righteous Michael still punishes him for protecting Wiley.

And maybe Sasha is actually Jackie’s daughter which would make for Chase and Sasha to be half siblings, which is yet another reason for them to not have done anything other than fake make out on the couch to make Willow weep. I didn’t watch GH/Jackie back in the day, but I’m assuming there is a batch of time (9 or 10 months at least) after she left Port Charles before she ever met Finn or Gregory. I don’t think we have ever figured out Sasha’s DNA…

I feel sorry for Alexis. For such a smart woman, she sure can cause herself a lot of grief! Between her family and love affairs, etc. her drinking obviously making everything worse, she can’t win for losing. With her very big heart, I hope Olivia can give her a break. It’s not like Alexis and Ned set out to have this big night of romance. They were comiserating while drinking which led from bad to worse. Ned was hurt because Olivia left with Scorpio to see Dante, after his own daughter had just had her throat slit. He was trying to reach her with no results and ultimately thought the worse. I hope Alexis with her new legal eagle friend, can get her life back.
This Sonny thing is utterly ridiculous. The police are evidently not using what they have at their disposal to find missing persons i.e finger prints, facial recognition, etc, etc.
I think the writers are being stupid on purpose, planning to have Phyllis and Nina get in touch with Phyllis telling Nina about “Mike” and Nina realizing he is actually Sonny and purposely keeping the information from Carly on spite. Makes sense to me. I don’t blame her for being pissed at Carly, trying to play God. Nina had every right to know that there was even a chance that Nel was her daughter. Doesn’t Carly have enough going on in her own life without messing up and interfering in someone else’s? Furthermore,i I think Avery is better off with her mother than with the crazy Corinthos, she’s better protected there, for now.

Forgive Alexis? Violet, are you married? If your husband cheated on you would you forgive him? I hope not! Once a cheater, always.

I agree, Timmm. Ned didn’t even seem that sorry about it. He wanted Olivia to forgive, forget, and sweep it under the rug all in the same breath. Let him stew for a few months…then dump him.

Would you ,Timmm , want to be forgiven if you cheated? It may be a Soap; however , it ‘s a reality question.

I wouldnt expect to be forgiven. Once you lose trust in your partner, what is left? What is true, what is a lie? No, walk away, suck it up and know that who ever you cheated on will be a better person by you making this decision.

In real life adultery is the reason that Jesus gives for divorce.

It’s not right to have Tracy return without Luke..
It’s only good if Luke is back with her.
I’d rather have Luke return than Tracy-

But- the writers don’t write what I want lol.

They cannot afford the Legend to make his triumphant return!

That’s the defense Alexis is going with. I get that will probably get her off, but it shouldn’t because Sam wasn’t in any danger from Franco. Sam and Alexis were actually at Franco’s workplace to go in on Liz at her workplace. Plus Alexis was already drunk when they went to GH. I kind of want them to do the unpredictable and throw Alexis in jail and charge her.

I think Nancy was phenomenal, especially in the scenes with John where she was crying over what Alexis did to Dante. It was intense!

Lisa really brings it home as Olivia struggles with her growing rage. Can’t wait to see what unravels there.

I wouldn’t mind if the whole “Nelle is Nina’s daughter” story had a final shocking turn and Nelle really WASN’T Nina’s daughter; that she stole the necklace from someone. It’s a story that is getting long in the tooth. It feels like all the pieces GH wants aren’t in place yet, so they keep dragging it out. I’m starting to yawn.

If I cared at all about Sonny, I’d agree about Maurice’s performance but I just can’t. This storyline has the additional twist of Sonny’s bipolar coming back into play since he’s off his meds, but it’s otherwise been done to death on soaps.

I hope GH keeps up the pacing it has since returning from COVID shut down. Faster and more intense makes for MUST WATCH TV!

Rodd,
Now that Nina is realizing she has a grandson, I hope they will do a DNA with her and Wylie so as we don’t have to drag this on for months.

Lock Alexis away with Blackie! Liv and Robert can fall in love. She seems more his type than Ned. Ned needs a new love. Maybe a new character with a corporate motive. What about Jessica Collins?

Jax is THE man!

Either Sonny is going to know a nurse at this hospital or someone will recognize him as the “Godfather of PC!” I hope he finds Morgan but it is a new actor.

Seems inevitable now that Nina knows about Nelle. With Nelle still playing dead, Nina would feel like she has to somehow “confirm” this story with Phyllis, even though Phyllis previously said that she didn’t have detailed information about the “adoptive” parents of Nina’s child, other than them being from Florida.

In any case, Nina will probably go looking for Phyllis, hoping she’s got some piece of useful information that will give her a definitive answer, and she will walk into the bar and see Sonny at work….. and then because she’s pissed off at Carly, probably keep that information to herself for a while, and not let on to Sonny that she knows him either.

Hopefully they won’t drag this out too long. Like stalling for several months to make it a “May Sweeps” thing.

I heard what you said may happen, Nina spotting Sonny and keeping it to herself. They say Sonny will stay away from PC for some time. Probably showing up just in time to spoil Cyrus’s evil takeover! GH keeps a much better pace with their stories compared to Y&R!

Olivia on the warpath? This should be good! She is going to be one very angry mother.

GH was on-fire last week! Loved the necklace reveal with Nina, Carly, Ava, Nicholas, Michael, etc. Also, Tracy fleeing the country! Alexis arrested (yay–she can write her “memoirs” in prison, heh)! What a great week!! I normally don’t care much for Sonny, but I like his storyline with amnesia and the bar-family (Phyllis and husband).

I want G.H.to rid itself of the Mob.! I don’t care about Sonny , Carly , nor Jason ; however , I like the amnesia storyline because it shows another side of him.

Same for me. Normally, can’t stand Sonny, Carly, mob violence, etc.

I am really enjoying the show again but I wish the storyline about the “half hearts” would just go away and hoping Nelle does not come back. Nelle’s storyline is old and I am not feeling her drama again.

I want Nelle back ; yet, I feel that the writers should bring it to an end with heavy fallout for Carly and Jax.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

By

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
