Over the last several months, General Hospital has given the ball to two of its younger actors, to help pack the emotional wallop of the death of Sam McCall and the aftermath, and the resurrection of Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) with all of its twists and turns.

16-year old Finn Carr (Rocco Falconeri) has been acting professionally since he was a kid, while 15-year old, Asher Antonyzyn just began his acting career and landed his first professional role as the son of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco).

Acting with soap veterans such as Alexa Havins, Dominic Zamprogna, (Dante) Steve Burton, Genie Francis (Laura) and others could be a daunting task for some younger performers, but not for Asher and Finn. Not only did they hold their own, they made viewers often reach for the hankies. On-screen, Danny and Rocco consider themselves ‘brothers’, even though they are not biological related, but Dante was engaged to Sam at the time of her murder.

Now, in an exclusive conversation with Asher and Finn on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel, the young stars share their thoughts on their favorite story beats, their co-stars, their friendship on-screen and off, tease what’s ahead for Danny and Rocco, and how they might deal with the fallout from the death of Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), while learning Jason is pretending to be Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) baby daddy, and the secret yet to be revealed, that Gio is the biological son of Dante and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

Finn, one of my favorite scenes of yours was when Rocco was in the chapel with Laura (Genie Francis) feeling guilty about Sam and being happy that his mom, could come back to life. What did you think of those scenes?

FINN: I was a little bit intimidated when I looked at the sides (for the script). I saw it was heavy emotionally.  I prepared for that. But when I got on set, it was actually a very relaxed atmosphere and of course, very emotional. I was talking with Genie a lot before we taped and we discussed the scenes and we knew what each other was going to do.

Asher, what happened when you found out you would play the son of one of the most popular stars of the show, Steve Burton?

ASHER: This is my first acting job and I had no idea what to expect. I had never really heard of the show, but I remember when I got like the audition for it my dad was sitting on the couch. He’s like, “It would be so cool if you got this, because everyone knows what it is. It’s like a world-renowned huge show.” So, we flew out to L.A. for an in-person audition, not really knowing what to expect and I got it. I was like watching a couple episodes of GH before my first film date. And that’s when Steve Burton was coming back as Jason – this huge character. I’m like, “That last name is matching up. Like, is he someone important?” I did a little bit of bit of research and I was like, “Wow, that’s just such an honor to play his son. Steve’s the best. He’s really such a great guy.”

Finn, you have some amazing scene partners as well, including your new TV mom, Alexa Havins. What has been like working with Alexa, and playing the beats of when Rocco sees his Lulu alive for the first time in four years?

FINN: I will talk about Alexa first, because that goes into making the moment good. She’s amazing. She’s one of my favorite scene partners. I love doing scenes with her. Whenever I see that we’re both on the call sheet, I get really excited. She’s so in her character and that just helps so much with making a scene like that work and look really organic. I love to act with people and play off of them and feed off of their emotions and she was so just ready. It was really cool to watch her get prepared for that scene and do it with her. I let her take the lead and I just went with it.

There was a key scene where Rocco tells Danny that Cyrus Renault is the suspect in the murder of his mother, Sam. Then, Danny wants revenge for his mother’s death. Could you see him attempting to kill the guy?

ASHER: Personally, I think it would be really cool for something like that to happen. I think Danny is forming into a younger Jason and that means a lot to the show and something that could flow really cool with the storyline arc for Danny after losing his mom.

The two of you play brothers on GH, for all intent and purposes. What were your first impressions of each other in real life?

FINN:  We were good friends from the start. I think we got comfortable with each other. Clearly, we knew we were going to have some scenes with each other. The off-screen bond is just as important as the on-screen, and so one thing normally leads to the other. We’re really good friends off the set, too. We text, send each other Instagram stuff etc.

ASHER: A lot of the non-fighting stuff you see between us on camera is what you see in person. We’re super good friends. It’s just been awesome. I worked with a lot of teen actors at the start of my time on the show and then like nothing. So, when I saw that there was another teen boy on the show, I was like, “This is cool.” I’m very glad I get to work with someone my age that I can relate to and ask questions that I normally wouldn’t be able to ask to someone who’s much more experienced than me and older.

Do you have a favorite scene that you have done together?

FINN:  Some stuff that we just did but we can’t say! There is something really fun coming up. It’s pretty dramatic.

ASHER: Yes. There is something that we just did that was pretty fun to film.

Finn, on recent episodes viewers learned that Gio Palmieri is actually the biological son of Dante Falconeri and Brook Lynn Quartermaine. How do you think Rocco would feel if he found out that Gio is his half-brother?

FINN: I’m not too sure how he would react. Rocco would probably be pretty shocked. I think right now, I’d be very shocked if I found out a half- sibling. That’s a pretty big thing to find out. But, I think he would be excited at the prospect of having a new brother.

Speaking of siblings, Asher, what did you think when you found that Jason was going to pretend to be the father of Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) unborn baby and Danny’s reaction to the news?

ASHER: When I read that, at first, I didn’t really understand why, because Sasha is the cook at the Quartermaines. I was super confused. I then read through the script and I’m like, “OK, so Jason is not actually the father.” And that’s kind of how the scene played out, but Danny understands, and is OK with it.

What storyline would you like to get the opportunity to tell with your character?

ASHER: I would want Danny to go after Cyrus and kind of try and get revenge, and do everything to avenge his mom. I can’t say what really happens, but I think the writers know what they’re doing, and I think they have a good idea of what they have ahead for all the characters.
