As predicted following the release of the GH fall preview, the role of Charlotte Cassadine has been recast. Starting with today’s September 8th episode the role formerly played by Scarlett Fernandez, will now be played by Bluesy Burke (pictured here with her cat).

Burke replaces Fernandez who has played the role of Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) daughter on and off since 2016. Bluesy is a 17-year-old actress with parents already in show business.

Bluey’s parents are actor/musician Billy Burke, best-known for his role in the Twilight movie franchise as Charlie Swan, the father of Bella, played by Kristen Stewart. He had also appeared on the CBS drama, Fire Country and more. As well, Bluesy’s mom, Pollyanna Rose, is also an actress. They are pictured below.

GH head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, shared with TV Insider, that Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) is on his way back into the story, and so too is Charlotte.

The scribes teased, “Charlotte returns to the canvas and assumes a pivotal role. She’s very useful to anyone who wants something from Valentin – and she knows it. She isn’t afraid to exploit her relationship with her father to get what she wants. She’ll draw closer to Danny (Asher Antonyzyn)and Rocco (Finn Carr) as we develop General Hospital’s next generation.”

So, are you excited to see the next evolution of the character of Charlotte as played by Bluesy Burke? What do you think she will be up to now? Will she be scheming to get what she wants? Share your thoughts via the comment section.

Definitely a vast improvement from the past Charlotte and the other recasts we have had in the role. Hoping she sticks around for a short while, although, we did not really need Charlotte back.

Scarlett Fernandez was great in the role. Give the poor girl a break! She was a High Schooler in in Idaho, and an excellent V-Ball player. Don’t bully a kid’.

That was very well said!

I thought Scarlett was adorable and did a fine job. Nothing wrong with Miss Burke either. I hope Scarlett is doing well. Best wishes to them both.

Perhaps Scarlett was so very tired of having to read and put up with comments such as yours.

Please remember she is young and you must know how words can cut deep and leave scars that take a long time to heal.

While I did like Scarlett Fernandez, I’m quite pleased with Bluesy’s first episode. And, from a visual standpoint, she definitely looks as she could be Alexa Havins’ daughter.

Despite an occasional dud, overall, Mark Teschner continues to grab great new talent for younger characters.

Plus, the show is learning not to spoil some appearances. JPS was not in the opening credits, and Valentin appeared later in the episode.

Much respect to you OG Steve. You did say we would have a new Charlotte.

Agree re JPS/Valentin. Hmmm, an actor who hasn’t been on for months who is non-contract so only featured when on is in the opening credits. Surprise (ruined)!!

Yes she does look like Alexa!

I thought the actress did a fine job in her debut episode.

I was more convinced Scarlett’s Charlotte could be Lulu’s daughter than this actress. I wouldn’t have guessed she’s only 17. Her height is jarring but I can get used to that. She seems really good imo. That said, the first time this girl says Papa, I will burst into tears laughing. It will not be cute anymore. Scarlett and James had been gold together imo.

I preferred Scarlett. Her portrayal was more like a Cassadine.

Nothing against Bluesy, but I’m not happy that they replaced Scarlett.

This girls a horrible actress! Get a new Charlotte fast.

She looks a lot like her real mom. And resembles actor Valentine.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
