General Hospital fans “officially” learned the in-story truth at the end of Friday’s cliffhanger of the ABC daytime drama series, when it was revealed that none other than Rosalie Martinez (Linda Elena Tovar) was the wife of Brad Cooper (Parry Shen!

For weeks, Brad has been troubled by a secret that he needed to confess to his husband-to-be Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes)! Thus far, Brad came forward and told Lucas he was married, and Lucas tried to understand why he was married to some guy he didn’t apparently ever love.

Brad relates to Lucas: “There were a lot of reasons why I got married, but love wasn’t one of them.”  To which Lucas said, “Then why the hell did you marry the guy?”  Brad confesses, “I never said it was a guy!”

Cue Rosalie!  In walks Rosalie on the duo’s conversation, and apparently Rosie and Brad see each other for the first time in a very long time.  Brad is completely shaken, and Lucas can see that the two of them know each other.  It is then Brad admits that Rosalie is his wife.

Watch the final moments of the episode between Brad, Rosalie, and Lucas after the jump!  Let us know: Were you surprised by the twist?  Did you think Brad was married to a woman and that it would be Rosalie?  Why do you think they got married?  Will this keep Brad and Lucas apart for months to come?  Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

Called it a long time ago. His wife had to be someone on the canvas with a big secret that he hasn’t interacted with, and Rosalie was the only one that fit the bill.

That can’t be Brad’s big secret because it’s lame, there has to be more to this.

Agreed!

It’s like they needed to give them angst and this was the best they could come up with.

who knows. They deserve one another!

All this time Grossalee has been in PC and worked at GH during Nina’s rehab she never run into Brad…or seen him during the nurses ball??? This is just as lame as Ava/Denise blackmailing Nina with that cell phone picture of Nina kneeling over Silas’s body holding the knife…the police would ask why Ava/Denise did not come to them right away with the evidence and also question her to why she was there…this blackmail plot and Grossalee’s reveal to be Brads wife-who cares-we never really see these two-is the two poorest written moments under RC…jmho!!!

GH is a big hospital with about 5 or 6 wings added since I started watching the show in the 70’s. Brad is a lab tech manager and he’s hardly out mingling with the patients.

Brad is shown in other areas of the hospital…he was at the televised nurses ball…im certain Gross seen him on the red carpet and even outside the hospital!!!

Nice attempt to defend an idiotic, albeit boring, story, Mia.
Jim is right. It’s just plain stupid and this will underscore Ron’s legacy as as head writer.

duh Jihm.. lol
if that all had happened it would not have been a shocker surprise!!

soaps are 50% BS and %50% makebelieve, nothing in a soap is real world stuff, that is why I love them! 🙂

If Nina went to the police then Franco would not be in jail, He and Scotty would not have the great scenes they had, Scotty would still be the DA (Ric and the Mayor set up for big corruption that Anna will deal with)

Nina blackmailing Ava will lead to Nina doing bad stuff on her, yup..

Nic and Hayden are are gonna be good!! 😉

Oh Jim, I totally agree with you! Who cares!

This is one of the most ridiculous story turns ever! Shame on GH.

Why do I think one of these clowns is going to be the organ donor to elizabeth and AJ, son!

that’s what i was thinking Jim! Another story out of left field to keep Rosalie on the show for whatever reason. Lame. Ready for new writers.

I agree seems like an out of the blue take that to the show from the departing writer..makes absolutely no sense what so ever that they never crossed paths or she never saw him at GH..what a dumb thing to do..

You’re right Jimh… So this is her BIG SECRET who cares!! They’re both
unnecessary characters who will never be missed once gone.

If y’all don’t like gh or y’all wanna bash it guess what DON’T WATCH IT problem solved duh

I think it’s time we just stop paying attention to things until the material from the new writers start and hope they not only are better but can fix things and make us forget a lot of what we have seen.

Brad and Rosalie is just so ridiculous. There are twists and unexpected surprises and then there is totally out of left field and makes no sense. You know you are in trouble when people online are saying, “well it’s possible two people can live in the same place for a year and spend a lot of time in the same hospital and never run into each other.” Sure, especially on a soap.

This is obviously another example of RC having no plan for the character when he threw out that she has a “secret.” If she was to be Brad’s wife, we would have seen some foreshadowing, some brief uncomfortable interaction so that when the reveal happened we could say, oh yeah now I get it.

And it is so lame that the second Brad tells Lucas he’s married to a woman, the door opens and it’s Rosalie, “what are you doing here?” Are they just trying to make the audience laugh out loud? In over a year, Rosalie never ran into Brad in the hospital, but walks in at that moment.

RC is gone, I guess we have to ignore this stuff, but the people who OK’d the story and put it on the air are still around, so that’s a problem isn’t it?

Ron may be gone but Frank V is still EP and has creative control. Shelly A who is one half of the “new” head writing team has held that position on GH with Garin Wolf in 2012. GH ratings were at a all time low them, I don’t expect much from her.

Matilda.
one needs patients for a hidden backstory <- the mystery, and for the story to develope then it will all make sense..
( it has just begun, their story is one scene old..
— wait for it 🙂

I agree. Dont jump the gun just yet. It was a Friday episode ending tease people! Let the story unfold before you hate it.

You only need patients for a backstory if your story is medical.

Otherwise, you need PATIENCE.

And Lord grant me patience.

HA! Boes, very funny. I need some patience myself.

According to Jamey Giddens of Daytime Confidential, this chick’s real secret was supposed to be that she was trangendered. This was the intended story all along, but ABC nixed the idea.

Not defending the current story. Not even following a single plot on this show. And certainly not defending RC. Just trying to put it in perspective that it’s possible this was never intended to be the big reveal I guess viewers were waiting on.

If she was trasgender what would be the shocker…she is only connected to Brad…others have no real ties to her…so that secret would shock no one…jmho

Soaps, hell, most of dramatic writing relies on the minute you say something or mention something about a person, that person shows up, so that doesn’t bother me in the list. After all, as Hitchcock said, “Drama is life, with the dull bits left out.” However, I don’t think this was Rosalie’s “secret” that Nina held over her for months on end. This is clearly Brad’s “secret”. Let’s hope for a good explanation.

I never noticed that in all these months Brad and Rosalie were never in the same place at the same time but it IS possible. Hell, I live in one of the biggest cities in the world and sometimes I run into the same people over and over and other times I completely miss seeing people who I know frequent the same haunts I do.

As for just wishing this will all go away soon, the new head writers’ material starts airing October 7th. I’m glad everyone else is so optimistic about their new story plans. I’m on a wait-and-see basis as neither one of these women (Passanente or Altman) have ever impressed me with their work on other soaps. Passanente and Carlivati would have been a good team as she would have toned down the camp factor and outrageousness but on her own, Passanente is not a strong writer. Better pray Altman is!

Thats a good point David. Rosalie has a secret she is hiding and Nina knows it, It wouldnt be about Brad. Hell, Nina might not even know about their wedding. People get too critical too fast!

David, it’s true that characters will be talking about someone and that someone will just happen to show up. But within reason. If Carly and Sonny are talking about Michael and Avery and he shows up at the house with her to give her back, OK. Even Sam just happening to walk into the chapel when Liz was looking for a sign. Contrived but ok. We expect things like that,

But it is about degrees. Here we have two people, Brad and Rosalie, who are supposedly very close, married, they have been living in the same town for 14 months, know some of the same people and have spent hours and hours at the hospital at the same time. Brad tells Lucas he’s married to a woman, and this is the first time they come in contact and she happens to open a closed door and walk into a room. This is beyond ridiculous.

David, I just want to say that I enjoyed your well written comment, and that is all.
Matilda? The same.

There lies the problem!

Matilda, once again you’re spot on right here. No one really cares about Brad the mouth breather. Lucas and Brad enjoy zero chemistry and there has been no build up to the great Rosalie reveal. As you assert, there was no foreshadowing leading up to this “great reveal” which implies they were making it up as they went along,
The problem is that we all could have applauded a gay storyline if it were done right. Since this one fizzled out before it even began, this will lead some to say that gay storylines don’t work on soaps. They can work as long as the writing, the dialogue, and the acting is there.
As it stands, no one cares. I hear crickets.

I agree .. Don’t like either character . They are both taking up time that other major characters aren’t getting . They Deserve each other !

There really are no ”major” characters, they are simply peoples favorites..
there a few vet characters and some of them have gone to recurring=call you when needed status.

”major” characters would be vets?
Tracy was in a big story and more to come with Dillon, Paul and the take over..
Sonny is upfront and a big Corinthos story on the way with Carly(Ava&Avery)
Elizabeth is upfront in a big story with Jason/Jake..
Nic is upfront with the Q takeover and, Jason secret ..
Patrick and Sam are getting it on..
that is about it for the ”major” vet characters and all are in stories 🙂

the newer are in stories mostly with the ”major” characters giving them screen time 🙂

Why yes there are major characters and to say otherwise is just playing make believe. Sonny is a major character, Carly is a major character, Luke was until his portrayer took his toys and went home.

I dislike all three but that doesn’t change the fact they are major characters, virtually always with their own storylines, involved in most others.

Whether you like the characters or not, a lot of reason why you do or don’t see a character onscreen has nothing to do with how the story is written and mostly to do with what the actor’s contract is. They all go in cycles and actors are on contract and guaranteed so many appearances. Carlivati has been known to use up all the actor’s guarentees, then resulting in them disappearing from the canvas for a few months before you see them again. I’m not defending him, but being a head writer is a monster job that even my writer friends say they would never want as it’s more about answering to a bunch of people and following their commands (i.e. ABC, the Exec Producer, actor contracts) then it is about story.

Gone are the Irma Phillips days where the writer was in control of the show and wrote it the way he or she saw fit. I long for those days. The reason shows like All My Children and One Life To Live were so good for so long was because they had a creative head (Agnes Nixon) who wrote the show the way she envisioned it and didn’t cowtow to the network or focus groups (hell, there were none back in the 70s and 80s) like they do today.

TRUE… THEIR NASTY STREAKS R SO UGLY… LUCAS DESERVES BETTER
RC SHOULD HAVE PAIRED HIM W/ FELIX…

Gosh I’m picturing it now, Felix/Lucas would be the most moral-self-righteous-goody two shoes couple ever. No thank you. Not for soap world. I did like Brad/Felix for a short while, but Brad & Lucas balance each other out. They have a nice and easy going chemistry.

Careful. Brad and Rosalie can act. Maybe not Emmy worthy but I see actors on the front burner who are horrible. [Detective West, for one.]

Thank you, Timmmm: Linda Elena Tovar (Rosalie) and Perry Shen (Brad)

Act . period.

these two… tho not big names… ADD

I certainly would add Britt with these two.

all production teams have to start somewhere… when they see sparks… start firing them up.

i hope these two combust

“… I see actors on the front burner who are horrible ”

I enjoy Rosalie and Brad… they add presence and are interesting with what material they are given

Just a reminder why ‘the writer’ needed to be fired.

I figured that is what was going to happen , but thought it was lazy and dumb

Yes it makes no sense and would never take place in real life. We are watching a soap opera expect the unexpected.

I envisioned an Asian family storyline, with Brad’s parents forcing him into marrying an Asian woman. Alas!

THESE STORIES ARE SO NOT INTERESTING…IT DIDNT MATTER WHO HIS WIFE IS!

agree!!!

I didn’t see this one coming, and truth be told… I just don’t care. Brad and Rosalie are both minor characters with no story, and throwing out this twist doesn’t make them more interesting, or create an interesting story. Quite honestly, I would be just fine if Brad said that he wanted to live happily ever after with Rosalie, and the two left town together, because I don’t like either of them.

It’s annoying that GH feels the need to put newbies and minor characters like Rosalie, Brad, Valerie, Kiki, Sabrina, etc. on the forefront and give characters like Scott, Lucy, Kevin, Bobbie, Mac, Felicia, Monica and even Tracy very little story. And now, it looks like this Lucas/Brad/Rosalie story is going to be playing out for a while, meaning even less time for characters and stories we actually care about.

My guess is that, since Brad’s bio family is the Wu’s, Rosalie’s bio family may be the Alcazars or even connected to Lily in some way, and their marriage was a forced mob union (like what happened between Sonny and Lily way back when, but this time, the two didn’t love each other like Sonny and Lily did).

Don’t think much of it–no groundwork laid–just feels like it was thrown in for a manufactured complication. Very bad writing. Rosalie looks very savvy and street smart–wouldn’t she know Brad was gay???? GMAB! Again! Feels so faulty. And who cares anyway? See, no empathy for either of these characters; thus I do not care one way or the other what happens to them.

There are a lot of smart women who find out the hard way that their husbands are gay.

Yes, Timm, and there are a lot of smart men who find out the HARD way their friend is gay.

I knew Brad was married to Rosalie, no shocking twist to me. Just get rid of Rosalie. No more Rosalie and also get rid of Elizabeth Webber. She is a conniving witch.

Yes! I am beyond thrilled that Rosalie is married to Brad. All we need now is for Rosalie, Nina, Franco, Kiki, Dr. O, Sloane, and Madeline to all die in a mob war.

Intrigued by this plot twist. Finally, something somewhat interesting.

I agree Char, lets see if this secret fleshes out bigger stories that includes Sonny, Julian and Brad’s parents. Maybe even Rosalie’s parents?

El Lameo! I thought Rosalie would turn out to be Sonny and Lilly’s daughter?

It feels like they just came up with it last minute . Maybe it’s just me eventhough I like Lucas and Rosalie aren’t they both plus brad all recurring characters?? Why do they have a storyline going at all? I feel if your on contract you should be in a storyline or at least play a strong supporting character in a storyline if your recurring then you should be a supporting charater ie Rosalie in the nikolas taking over ELQ story line . This is why viewers get upset and complain about the cast being overbloaded when in fact if the show just concentrate on its contract players and allows the recurring character be more supporting then it would be more fair..

Love Brucas! I love Brad(& Parry). He’s snarky & fun. I love the diversity on this show! I’m not surprised it’s Rosalie. I figured it would be her or somebody new coming. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this is a “more than meets the eye” type of situation. Probably an arranged or convenience marriage. We know Brad is a Wu, but we don’t know who Rosalie is connected to…I’m betting one or both of their families are the ones making trouble for Sonny.

Ho hum— who cares. On Y&R we find out Harding killed all those people yet not a peep from this site about that development– Someone sneezes on GH and it’s news– but okay I will play along– both Rosalie and Brad had big secrets– we know Brad’s bio family had ties to PC mob, so no doubt Rosalie does too. Now that RC is no longer writing this show we can only hope the new writers will end this storyline quickly or make it better than it started out to be.

Mary, you bring up a point. Has anyone told GH this is a sweeps month? It has been horrible! Y&R has been hitting it out of the park!

Mary, I know. I have been chomping at the bit to talk about Y&R but there have been no blogs written about Y&R’s stories in quite sometime. GH certainly garners a lot of attention for their lousy stories.
It’s enough to make me go off topic!!

So lets go off topic– who do you think is behind that project to take down Victor– if it isn’t any of the Abbotts or Adam– do we dare hope it is Cane? I mean wasn’t his father a big time mob boss in Australia? Surely Cane’s family still has the type of connections to pull off a takeover of Newman. And Victor treated him like gum under his shoe when they worked together. I can see it being Cane.

Of course there is still that family Victor paid off to cover up Nick injuring the young girl at his pool party as a teen. Can’t remember was that a Pratt detail or Altman? Perhaps the whole story got dropped when Pratt came in, but could be a good one to pick up again.

But I really want it to be Cane– he was always more interesting when he was a shady character– too much potential wasted on Lily and working for Lauren– make the boy a player– to rattle the big boys Jack and Victor.

Glad Harding is getting some air time– still hoping there is a way to redeem him– too bad they didn’t make Marco’s partner in town Colin. It would have made sense two crime lords knowing each other. I hated they watered down Colin to the level of buffoon like Jeff, Chelsea’s dad.

Can’t wait for the Marco and Jack face to face showdown this week. If this site doesn’t cover that one so they could do another story about B players on GH I might just scream.

I know, right? I’ve been wanting to discuss Y&R storylines too, but no chance here.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….sorry, what was the question again?

Harry, wake up, I think I see Robert Scorpio coming out of the fog. You know, the same one where Luke disappeared!

Why should I care one way or the other? Two D-list actors that aren’t even on the show that much and I’m supposed to be invested or care about them? Sorry, no.

Hi Jim, I totally agree with you. Who cares!!

Who cares? Brad is a punk, has been since he first came on. Then we were told he turned good – told, though, because how would we know, or give a rats ass, since we only see him and Lucas about once every 4 weeks. Rosalie, the same, just as irrelevant, just as boring, just as disposable.
Show is in serious trouble. Show is trying to rely on storylines with secondary characters, characters who are glorified day players, and if not these, then Show is concentrating on non-GH characters with no link to the GH canvas except other newbies.

Didn’t care before, care even less now. Since Michael handed the baby back to Orange Glow, I took GH off the record schedule. There’s virtually nothing I care for and plenty that just irritates me. I’ll tune back in when Anna returns, at least to see her, and then I’m gone again for good.

Stick a fork in it, GH is done.

I generally criticize people for tuning out but it has been horrible! A lot of fans are putting their faith into the new writing team. Anna does resurface in September and lets hope Robert is with her!

Brad is not any worse than most of the characters on the show. In fact most have a rap sheet much longer. I don’t mind him. I cannot stand Rosalie & see no point to her character. There must be a reason they are keeping her around after all of this time, but I can’t imagine what that reason is.

Talk about pulling an idea out of thin air!!! My guess is that Grossalie is illegal and married the Brad-ster just for a green card. Hopefully, that shall mean a quick and dirty departure for this character when she is arrested and deported! Oh, by the way, Mr. Cooper certainly traded up when he latched on to Lucas!

Shay is on fire!

Yes, Shay–Brad the Mouth Breather certainly did trade up.

I think a major problem with this “reveal” is that the story has only been told every other week, one day a week, and has missed so many notes that nobody really can invest in it. What a shame, since I like all three actors involved. I’ve felt like TPTB are afraid to tell this engagement story for some reason.

Hopefully, under the new writers, stories will be told in an interwoven way for an extended period of time so we can invest in them. Don’t get me wrong; I love RC, but the hop-scotch story telling has made even this loyalist a bit weary.

Who cares? Two very uninteresting characters can’t drive a new story.

So lame. Whatever. Does make any sense at all. We’re all supposed to be shocked.

Seriously lazy writing.

Two useless characters, both extremely unlikeable and they get more airtime than characters that matter.

If this regime wants to do something they need to clean up this mess ASAP. As much as I like Maura West, Ava cannot be redeemed. She needs to go, at least for a while. Then they need to tie up the storylines for Franco, Nina, Brad, Rosalie and I could go on….

Thats it Rob, Maura is a blast but she has been written into a corner and there is no way out. She does have to go. The PCPD might actually get to arrest someone and keep them behind bars! Whomever prosecuted Blackie should be brought to Port Charles to clean up this crime ridden town! I think Blackie has been in jail now for thirty years!

Timmm..
Ava is far from being cornered..
As soon as she is freed when after the tape is destroyed, she revert to Ava..
She will be Sonny (and carly’s) worst nightmare when she goes to her baby Avery back.
Recently she has reverted to Ava in great form with Silas, Franco and Nina..
The Nina and Ava’s last scene was awesome!!!! very intense and the two brought it on!
As soon as Morgan and Sonny find out she is Ava the gates of hell will open..
Ava is far from being cornered,,
🙂

(( anyways the way RC would write it, now Ava is the hands of the new writers, the Queens of Snooze ! … so anything could happen, now.

what if Denise has been around much longer than we all realize?

i know: lazy writing… Denise killed Connie
i know: dumb writing… Denise killed Silas

thereby freeing up Maura West to come back… as Ava
thereby freeing up … Ava and Morgan !!!! ta-da…. love magic!

oy! the RC writing … is coming to an end

LOL… I like your quote tho.. @su…. “… the gates of hell will open.. “

i’m just putting out their… that Ava is off somewhere taking care of herself

THANKS to Silas

who….

DAMNATION! I really wanted their to be sparks and a relationship to ensue between Silas and “Ava”… after all that he did to take care of her

there’s my rant for Michael Easton… there was potential
the way Maura West and ME’ connected.. just made me a believer and REAL stuff to REEL

I am still waiting for the scene where Michael tells Uncle Lucas that his fiancee Brad once tried to force him into non consensual sodomy and rape. Gramma Bobbie’s face might actually have an expression if that little tidbit came out at the dinner table.

Saw it coming. Still don’t care.

This is so obviously a last minute story decision! Brad is not a very interesting character, he lacks charm and frankly is not the cutest fella in the planet (to me). Lucas Deserves a adventure plotline

What amazes me is that people keep complaining that the core characters are not being utilized. What every one needs to realize is that the “core” characters are all up there in age and really have nothing to add to the landscape of Port Charles now. Maybe a token Alzheimer’s story or an illicit affair but the days of the 80’s and 90’s are gone. Like in real life the fast paced life of the younger set back then all grew up to become, deep gasp, seniors who live lives that are sometimes rather boring. Usually life happens with the younger set. I hate that Ron Carlivati got the blame for bad storytelling when he utilized some great actors in some HUGE stories. Whether they were interesting to some viewers caught in the past is their issue not the writers because someone’s feeling on a storyline is subjective not objective. Ron C brought some humor and good twists and turns. When I watch a daytime show I suspend my disbelief if it is told convincingly and Ron C told some good stories. The Franco/Carly wedding fiasco was one. I loved some of the lines he gave Heather Webber. Ava Jerome is an amazingly rich character with some history and Maura West is daytime GOLD if not PLATINUM. I hope they don’t get rid of her. I think she should be able to get away with her various crimes because she carries her weight. Nina is a great character as well and Michelle Stafford has BROUGHT it with her portrayal. I am waiting for the big Jason(Jake) reveal. Quite honestly even though I like Elizabeth as a character I want her put in her place. What she is doing to Sam and Danny is appalling. I mean Danny’s father is alive and well and she is lying right to Sam’s face under the guise of friendship. Nikolas needs a kick in the pants too. I love that he is growing some balls but he does have an inner struggle going on. You can see it every time he is onscreen. Great work by Tyler Christoper! I am glad Luke is gone. He was the most hyped and overrated actor ever. I just don’t see it. I like Laura (Genie Francis) but I can’t believe she didn’t stick to her guns and tell the dirty secret. Laura, to me, doesn’t seem like the kind of lady to hurt someone else – Sam Morgan – intentionally by withholding this information. She should be a mother and discipline her son, Nikolas, because it’s the right thing to do. The Brad/Lucas/Rosalie story is interesting but for the person who stated that the “transgender” storyline was nixed by ABC I don’t see them turning down a meaty story like that because of the success CBS has had with the Bold and Beautiful storyline on the trans issues. The days are gone when networks shy away from controversial issues. If they were so scared of it they wouldn’t continue with the Brad/Lucas gay storyline. These are modern times folks, stories like these are happening in the world around us and shows like this are the ones who represent it best. Stop whining and complaining and support your show that you allegedly love. I hate some storylines on GH too but I won’t stop watching it because there is a story I don’t like. I love the actors. I love the writers and I love the show and my loyalty will remain in tact until GH is gone. I don’t like turmoil on a show. GH has survived the Phelps curse (currently wreaking havor on Y&R) and still is quality. I give GH my full commitment because I don’t back away when things get unpleasant. Life is like that people, even in soapland.

I agree..
with me- there is so much more good with GH than bad..
We rarely hear from people of the good. GH has had some very great moments, stories that kept me on the edge. Tears and laughter, bewilderment and shock and something the HUH? ..
The acting has always been the best of the best, there are numerous great performances but rarely is the good of GH ever mentioned, just the complaints of it.
And there is something very wrong with that.

Life is not perfect nor are the soaps.
We have bad periods in our lives so do the soaps, and both get through it.
GH has more good than bad..
I enjoy watching GH, it is fun entertaining and a damned good soap!!

How about you do what you want and stop telling others what to do? Radical, I know, but give it a try.

boes..
read carefull with comprehension..
I have never told anyone how to be they can be as mean nasty and bitchy and unpleasant as they want, I never stop anyone from making —- of themselves..
I do however comment on their irrational bitching, habitual complaining 🙂

what surprises me about the negative comment above is that nothing I even originally stated was listened to. Never for a minute was there a comment about telling others what to do. I do not hesitate to stand for what I believe and give my opinion on any given issue. I do not give two flying Walendas if someone agrees with me or not. I am speaking for myself and no one else. If you agree with me, amazing, let’s sit down and have a cup of coffee and celebrate. If you don’t agree, you’re entitled to your opinion, welcome to America, but don’t start telling me how wrong I am for having said opinion. It’s mine, and I believe it to be more true than not but that’s me, not any one else. So do yourselves a favor and relax. I love General Hospital btw so all of you need to get over yourselves and chill.

Mateo, you wrote,”Stop whining and complaining about a show you allegedly love.” That is a direct quote. It also sounds like something The su000ster would say.
That seems pretty Bossy Boots to me. I liked a lot of your post and do agree with much of its content but you lost me when you admonished us for complaining and told us to stop doing it. It’s because we love GH that we want to see it do better. Worry when us whiners stop complaining because that reflects apathy and collective apathy leads to poor ratings.
The truth is I am barely watching GH right now. I have not seen it in a week. This means that the bad outweighs the good. As a GH addict, the fact that I am not watching is significant.

I gotta say..
The complainers are becoming overkill..
All this whining and bitching when we haven’t a factual clue as to what this will be about, actually..
Roslie will somehow be related to Sonny, is my guess..
Brads family will be a trip lol

It was a 10 second scene, 10 seconds people, and nobody could stop themselves from complaining over something they don’t know..

Whatever it is truly about, RC and team had the story planned for about 6 months ahead of time into the future.. The direction and development.

— wait for it —

It is the hands of the new writers the Queens of Snooz, now.

I gotta say – you define overkill.

Nobody cares, su000.

I know it’s not April first, but this has to be some sort of joke.

Mateo, bless you for supporting the show! All the attacks are not going to keep the show on the air. If one isn’t enjoying if, I would hope he or she could pick up the remote.

Oh brother–this nonsense again?
This story is idiotic, uninteresting and involved two characters no one knows or cares about. Enough said.

I really don’t mind this Brad/Rosalie story. Way back, it was implied that Brad came from a “mob” family. Maybe Rosalie does too. There was an Asian woman at the mob meeting that Sonny went to not long ago so that could be Brad’s adopted or biological mother. There’s been talk of a mew mobster trying to get into Port Charles so that could be it.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
