GENERAL HOSPITAL: Brooklyn Rae Silzer's Showstopping Performance! Jason Leaves Liz & Patrick and Sam Split!

It was an episode of broken hearts galore on Thursday’s General Hospital.

But while all the adults in the “A” storyline where acting their hearts out, so too was little Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma Drake).  We suspect the audience probably needed to wipe away some serious tears during the hour long broadcast.

In a tour de force performance of her own, Brooklyn’s Emma was devastated to learn that her father Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) were not going to be married after all … in fact, they were splitting up.  As a young girl who has had her home life torn apart by outside forces within Robin and Patrick’s marriage, and her now MIA mom, and then compounding that with counting on a life with Sam and Danny, and Patrick, Emma is rocked to her core to find out that Sam is not going to be at the Drake home anymore.  Getting more upset, Emma screams for her mommy! Patrick allows her to place a call to Robin.  As we find out, Robin (Kimberly McCullough) is being held captive now by the returning Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roche) and has 48 hours to finish her research, or she will be killed.    Robin can barely comfort her daughter, because she cannot admit where she is, as Emma want her to go come and is still beside herself.  An emotionally drained Patrick tells Emma they will go to Paris to visit Robin.  How heartbreaking and touching was it to see the father/daugher scenes played to perfection by Thompson and Silzer?!

Patrick and Sam meanwhile said as an adult a goodbye as you can between two people.  Sam finally came to her senses that Patrick was right.  She can’t love him totally and completely like he deserves, now that Jason is alive, and that Jason (Billy Miller) is indeed the love of her life.  Again, Kelly Monaco and Jason Thompson delivered emotionally compelling scenes.

And then there was Jason and Liz (Rebecca Herbst)!  Jason has learned of Liz’s duplicity! She has now admitted it all, including Nikolas’ (Tyler Christopher) part in it.  She informs Jason she knew since the Nurses Ball and no matter how she spins it, and even admitting she didn’t want to lose him which is why she lied, Jason is fit to be tied!

Jason realizes that Elizabeth kept him from his son Danny, his wife, his family.  No matter how she tries to rationalize what she did, Jason ends up walking out on Elizabeth and tells her she broke his heart!  The episode also features compelling performances by both Billy Miller and Rebecca Herbst in scenes that fans have waited for over many months!

So, what did you think of the performance of Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma)? What did you think of Jason leaving Liz, and Patrick and Sam going splittsville?  What about Robin being held yet again in a lab?  Did you enjoy the work of Monaco, Thompson, Miller and Hebst?  Share your thoughts on this pivotal episode of GH in the comment section below!

Kudo,s to all of the actors in today’s episode – everyone of them brought their “A” game. Special mention to Brooklyn Rae Silzer for her winning performance!

Your right, no dead air at all.

I cried my eyes out. Even the words Olivia said to Dante were spot on. When she told him you will regret this for the rest of your life! Im not a fan of the new lulu. But everyones performance was exceptional especially Emma!!

Stunning absolutely stunning performance. It was so believable it broke my heart. And so realistic because adults make all this poor choices and the it is often the children who have to deal with the fall out—kudos for GH for finally showing a child being a child. A little girl who needs her mommy– If the show doesn’t keep her around after JT leaves they may never get her back– if she wants to continue to act I think she has a bright future in the industry.

You bet, Mary. I think it was so believable because those were heartfelt tears. The pain was real; palpable , touching, stirring the senses. Jason is leaving, thus everyone drew the sadness and emotion from that. I have never witnessed an actor cry such tears (in rivulets) before as Jason did today. There’s no doubt he loves Brooklyn almost as a daughter….she has played one for so long. Finally, Sam/Kelly had real tears streaming down her face; not just wet eyes, lol.

you wrung my heart out on this one

that parent child relate

heart full

Ok, so I messed up those corrections. Ah, well…you know what I mean.

Very true Mary. Adults can let each other down all day long and deal with it which ever way they want BUT when kids are involved the BS stops! NOTHING can EVER replace the innocence and wonderment of childhood!

gavel

thank you Timmm

“…BUT … NOTHING … EVER … “

1st-
the performance of Brooklyn Rae Silzer /Emma- greatness ! BRAVA!
2nd-
I am still bewildered why some people like to feel depressed and cry and cry and feel broken hearted and praise stories that make them feel awfully gloomy sad watching hardcore sadness story; why they love that feeling of doom and gloom pain is masochistic , bwaha!

Anyways..
Jason will return to Liz and his/their family.. (Sam is enough to drive him psychotic lol.
He needs to be alone to findhimself and while searching for himself to have some intriguing adventures during his discovering journey. get it on and going!
((it was insane to write him tied up with 2 crazy women from the gitgo, sigh .

I will miss the Partick character.. I hope there will be no recast, sometimes things/characters need to end. Everything ends..

I am tired of couples and their love gone wrong problems..
watching them can make one feel like an ol’ biddy snoopy Gladis sticking their nose into everyone’s personal problems and demanding to know all their personal business then being an azz ..
I hope soon the love and doom will end and their will new and exciting stories.
I need at the least some adventure, intrigue, on the edge anything story. And– some humor.
Looking forward to Scorpio and Jax and their adventure and hopefully some edgy excitement! 🙂

(( great phenomenal performances from ALL this past week!! ( long applause !

LONG LIVE GH !!!

I enjoy being depressed and full of angst, Suoo.
That is why I read your comments.

I just got home, Harry….after a harrowing day at the shelter, feeding the homeless ( that should make su happy)…..dragging my feet and arse. And, here I am, reading your comment which sent me into peels of laughter. Now, I really and truly needed that!!

PS.
As I said, Harry. I really believe that this wonderful little child, Brooklyn, must be so very sad to see Jason go. Those tears; that pain were real, no acting.

Oh, Harry. You wonderful man, you. I have been saying that Dante just needed an excuse to cheat. He already knew it was going to happen. He has known since Valerie moved in with him and Lulu, when she had nowhere to go. As a matter of fact, Lulu suspected as much also, if you remember. That was the reason Valerie went to live at Wyndemere. Now, we are human, and as such we have flaws and weaknesses. Dante felt the attraction, but instead of avoiding any hanky-panky, he looked for an opening to walk through to temptation. He should have made a turnabout. Valerie, the ‘ fille de joie ‘ that she is, opened that naughty door and ‘herself’ wider, no? I wonder if that fruit was any sweeter for Dante. She had complete disregard for family, friends and their generosity. The writers should have never gone there, in my opinion. Why? To show that marriages go through seemingly insurmountable mountains and come out the other side, forgiving and forgetting. Not I. NEVER!!
Certain apples are forbidden Harry, which makes the taste that much sweeter, but, a real man/woman with healthy convictions should always keep his/her moral code in the pocket. Feel its weight once in a while, and get the big picture once that line has been crossed.
Confucius say: “One should realize the necessity of concern for others”. In this case, the concern was not only for Lulu, but for Rocco, for Olivia….for anyone else his behavior may affect. But, the crotch is mightier than the mind. That’s all!

hey Harry…. ahaa! 🙂
Sooo happy you enjoy my comments !
I want you to be happy so- I’m going post you lots of my comments! 🙂 enjoy!
((lol))

Correction…concern was NOT for Rocco; NOT for Olivia.

lol

Way to go, Harry!

Hey, su. I had sent you a reply but it didn’t post. Your retort to Harry was also sooooo funny….you should both follow in the tradition of Abbot and Costello, AND, Ollie and Stan. Pair up, c’mon…lol…. you guys are so funny when you spar with words…..keep at it, please!!!!!

If Jason and Brooklyn don’t get nominated and win Emmys for today’s performance, it would be major mistake and a insult to the talent of these two actors.

TOTALLY AGREE…..THIS LITTLE GIRL IS AMAZING AND SHE DESERVES TO BE NOMINATED FOR AN EMMY WHICH SHE SHOULD WIN HANDS DOWN!!!!! ALL THE ACTORS WERE EXCEPTIONAL TODAY……THE SHOW WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR…..JASON AND BILLY MILLER BOTH DESERVE EMMY NODS!!!

This little actress is so good you forget that she is acting. I think she may be one of the best child actresses I have ever seen. She was really crying and reacting exactly how a little girl would act after losing her mother twice and after losing prospective step mothers twice.
Yes, the little girl who plays Faith on Y&R is also a tour de force. However, you never forget that she is acting–there is a certain affectation which is discernible. You almost expect Faith to start belting out, “Tomorrow! Tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow!” You never get this feeling from Emma–you really feel that she’s a real little girl suffering from a whole lot of pain after suffering too much loss in her short life.

How do u nominate “Jason” for an Emmy? Billy Miller, yes, but a character????

@Eileen Hargis:
Again, Eileen you missed the mark. And, there you go again, making people feel stupid. Judy K is talking about Jason Thompson not Billy’s Jason. JT definitely deserves an Emmy. However, Robert Scott Wilson wins, by a longshot.

from my heart to yours and throughout

emmys all around: for GH and DAYS

here that

i can’t venture at this point

just so that… GH and DAYS cleanup; gut; and “denthrone” as it were.. the denizen of Genoa City and whereever la la land rich reside… (B&B)

REPLY TO EILEEN HARGIS………LETS TAKE IT REAL SLOW…..NOMINATE JASON THOMPSON AND BILLY MILLER FOR AN EMMY….NOT JASON AND BILLY MILLER THE CHARACTER……WOW!!!!!!!!!

Brooklyn was AWESOME. She should win an emmy.

I just resent the hell out of this story. There was never any reason for Liz to know other than throwing the character on the bus. Everyone comes out clean (even Sam who toyed with Patrick/Emma’s emotions) except Liz. This lie was totally out of character. But it is what it is. I just want Liz to stand strong and throw everyone elses misdeeds back in their face. All the criminals/liars/cheats will come for her and she needs to slay them with their hypocrisy. I also want Liz to tell Jason she is the ONLY person who cared, supported and believed in him as Jake.

Sam didn’t toy with anyone. She loves Patrick; still does. But he and she both knew that she would always have an incredible love for Jason in her heart. That was acceptable to Patrick when he thought Jason was dead.

Sam can’t help her conflicting feelings. Must have been simultaneously unparalleled happiness and heart shattering confusion for her when she found out he was alive.

Patrick still believes Robin purposely picked up and abandoned him and Emma. He no longer grieves for her because of that…so it was easier for him to fully love Sam and move on. Sam knows Jason didn’t leave her…he was presumed dead…and now he’s back. She knew he “died” loving her…and needs him to remember that.

What makes this story so poignant, powerful…is how hurt everyone is. And yes, because of Nic and Liz keeping the truth from Jason, Patrick and Sam. It’s their deceit that caused this trickle down effect…

Not only was Brooklyn heartbreaking wonderful…Jason Thompson, Rebecca…though I had zero sympathy for Liz…but Kelly as Sam was amazing as well. She is so obviously torn…her love for Jason undeniable, all the while loving Patrick and Emma and trying to deny her feelings for Jason even to herself…wanting to return to the easy choice of the family she and Patrick had built. Ultimately…her pull towards Jason won. Gut wrenching stuff…

Rebecca, I agree with almost everything you say here, except one–Patrick should know his wife better than to think that after fighting with every fiber of her being to get back to her husband and daughter she both so dearly loves that she would not leave yet again. Both Patrick and Anna should know there is something amiss with Robin and that she is not willfully staying away.
I can apply the same reasoning of spousal knowledge and trust to Dante. Dante should know in his heart of hearts that Lulu would not have had an affair with Dillon and not used that as an excuse to cheat.

Sam was misleading Patrick, her actions speak louder then her words. Telling him how she wanted a life with him, up to the minute Patrick finally said it’s over so lets not put Sam up as any saint. Sure Liz was totally wrong and probably should be committed. I do feel sorry for Liz and Jason probably should get custody of Jake.

I agree. Everybody’s dumping on Liz, and now Jason. What a jerk he is, after being OH so in love with her. I hope he was just angry and will go back and apologize. Not that I want her to take him back! But this thing is NOT all her fault. He had a part to play in this. After all, with no memory, he asks Liz to marry him (in the sweetest way possible!). He KNEW he might have a family out there. But he was willing to quit looking for THEM. And drag Liz into quite possibly a terrible situation. Not to mention this jerk said to her about bouncing between him and Ric. Really?! MONTHS before she found out he was Jason, she had chosen Jake. But then Hayden came into the picture. As soon as Liz found out about Ric’s deception, she told Nicholas she could finally be happy with Jake. THAT’s when Nick told her he was Jason. Yes, she WAS deceptive to keep the secret. But she LOVED Jake BEFORE she knew he was Jason. And he loved her! And yeah yeah yeah, Jasam and all. I don’t care, idiot, go back to Sam for all I care. But Liz doesn’t deserve your hate.

That is exactly the reason I called Jason a moron. What fool jumps into ‘life’ so fast without knowing what the heck is in his past? You do have a point, maddie. I didn’t stop to look at it that way; that is, Jason has had a hand in fanning the fire. Great observation.

Thanks for being fair, CeeCee. The deck has definitely stacked against Liz, she’s been made to look like a desperate ninny. Guess we have another catfight to look forward to, once Carly gets her claws on Liz .. lol.

Liz does deserve his anger, I mean who wouldn’t be yelling at her??
Carly is another hypocrite but isn’t half the cast? Liz’s is the BIG the lair
and Sonny a killer. Yes who asks some one to marry them NOT knowing who the heck they are? Jake Doe/Jason Morgan that’s who.

Oh yeah Jane, I agree, I knew Jason would be angry. But after he cools off, he needs to realize a few things. Mainly, that Liz has loved and cared about him for over a year, most of that time she didn’t even know he was Jason. And she hardly “trapped” him. He wanted to stay with her even after he found out who he was. He loved her VERY dearly. She lied, yes, and that was reprehensible. But she didn’t “trap” anybody.

It is not true that Liz is the ONLY one who cared, supported and believed in him. Sam helped him find out who is was, worked with him to prove Helena and Nik held his secrets. She also forgave him for breaking into her home, trying to kill her and blow up the Haunted Star. Carly fought for him, protected him from Sonny and PAID for his attorney. Just because Liz is the one who invited him to bed, doesn’t make her the only one who cared. Liz has never been an honest person. She has lied to every single man she has been involved with repeatedly, so no, she is not a perfect person. The problem with this story is that she didn’t just cheat Sam out of her husband, she cheated the entire family out of their father/son/cousin etc. Heck, she even lied to her own son!

Play it again, Angela!!!! Great post.

What CeeCee said !!!

Totally agree with everything you said. Well said.

I agree I think they did this to get the fan wars as I call them going again and getting people to tune in. Poor Liz living in denial Patrick nailed it when he basically said once Jason remembers Sam he would come back to her. I am a viewer though that now it is over so am I because I won’t watch the Sonny & Jason hour again they have other characters on that show that can tell a good story also.

Simply put, Lizzy played God with Jason’s life and we all know only Carly is allowed to play that role.
Kay, I don’t subscribe to those fan wars and think it’s actually possible to like both Sam and Lizzy at the same time

I agree!

Scoma60

YES! I am worn out .. with pressing how much Liz… will be kicked to the curb… raked over the coals… and given all the purgatory because , someone has to take the fall… and the beutiflly exquisite Liz… as the GH production know… will ??? come out unscathed… because of how beloved she is ! ??? darn tootin’ I love this woman

yet… at the very minimum… and least ??? !!!!! GH PRODUCTION… layer; and give; Rebecca Herbst that much more… and give her that backbone and steely resolve to put herself even moreso… because … she… as a woman… will not be denied ignored and will BE

am I coming from a character that should be fully realized ??? !!! of course… why not!

the men certainly know this… character wise… and … from the audience… she is HOT!

it want her sultry sex self UP ON at at em!

Liz Lives

@Harry In an interview with RC way back in May he as much said that is why he wrote Liz not telling the truth at the Nurses Ball. I never wanted Liz to get brought into this because I did not want to see Carly stalking her for six months. LOL Take care!

ok-
I have to say;

——– “All Is Fair in Love and War” ——–

((heh!!!!

Ah, Patrick…I admire your loyalty. I love Rebecca. Liz looks like an angel. But an angel she ain’t. You know that Elvis song? DEVIL IN DISGUISE? That’s our Miss Lizzie. And so is Carly and so is Sam and so is Valerie and so is Hayden. What to do, Patrick? Let Jason go everybody!! Give him the chance to regroup. At this point, to be fair, Sam is the only one who wants to give Jason the space he needs. Sam is his wife. I know….but, he may still want to be with Liz. He is angry. Liz deserves his anger. But, I don’t know how Jason will be able to turn off his feelings in a snap. What will happen when his singer fools off is up to the writers. We may wish this and that; ultimately what we want to see happen is inconsequential.
Yes, Patrick. Lizzie is flawless of face. Sultry? No. There is no sex appeal emanating from her whatsoever. She just does not have it! Hayden? Yes. Sam? Yes. Lizzie? No. Just my opinion, my friend. Later.

Correction…..what will happen when his anger cools off……( it just boggles the mind how autocorrect makes up these words)

Rarely in ANY medium is there a performance that makes the viewers forget that they are just watching an actress. Today, Brooklyn Rae Silzer crossed the line from cute tv soap child, playing pretend, to embodying a soulful, gut-wrenching, heart-breaking agony that I could feel burning inside of me. I’d challenge the best “seasoned” actresses to give that quality portrayal. Emmy for Miss Slizer, PLEASE!!!

omg, ok, first, little emma broke my heart, she was just so heartbroken, Brooklyn Rae Silzer stole the show.
i can’t believe Jason Thompson wants to leave GH to go play this other characters, thats all i got to say on that. Sam, well, i don’t know, she annoys me no matter what(the character not the actress).
my liz, its time you pay for being so weak, this is not who i wan’t you to be, so its going to be difficult watching the likes of carly and sam no so much anymore, but still it will be hard watching them smirk, but the sooner we get through this the faster we can get to you redeeming yourself. I will still have your back over sam or carly.
jason, oh boy i understand your anger and if you want to get back to Sam, go ahead, i’m not sure your right for liz or she’s right for you.
Robin, i hope all the people in your life finally get a clue, and when they rescue you, you need to ask your parents to train you extensively in hand to hand combat, weapon training, in fact ask your friend jason to train you so that when jerry tries to kidnapp you again you can kick his sorry ass.

I am sure JFP over at Y&R made him a better offer and the actor has had a hard time having another grown up relationship on the show because everyone was yelling about Robin being the only one for him. I am glad the reveal is over good acting from everyone involved.

JT is leaving because this great little scene between him and his daughter was few and far between anything else they gave him to do in 2015.

@Aria

ie: Robin : “…you need to ask your parents to train you extensively in hand to hand combat ”

so the truth

WOW! just knowing… GH production… will carry this lovestruck fan… SCRUBS LIVES! in to the sunset and beyond… will settle any unresolved and fastidious nature unbecoming… LOL

I’m so glad the character actress who plays lil Emma… with such fiest… as to roar with… Gramma Anna; is all the rest I’ll take

I like that you lot: “… I will still have your back over sam or carly ”

I will steadfastly reel Rebecca Herbst

“… An emotionally drained Patrick tells Emma they will go to Paris to visit Robin. ”

OK…

this just; wrenched me up

Superb soap! Payoff was great as long as the writers DONT pair Jason and Liz up again. We have endured enough of them. Send him home to Sam for good!

GREAT SOAP AND I SO AGREE …..DO NOT PAIR JASON AND LIZ UP AGAIN!!!!! ENOUGH OF HER ………

Brooklyn did an absolutely awesome job. She is a truly amazing actor. Kudos to the writers as well, who gave her very believable and moving dialogue. I loved it when she said, No more girlfriends Daddy”. It really drove home how deeply a parent’s relationship affects a child. A brilliant day on GH all around.

Oh my goodness, that little girl tore my heart out! Brooklyn was absolutely phenomenal in Thursday’s performance [and she’s totally believable the rest of the time as well]. I’m so glad that she’s staying on the show and that Emma will be living with Anna, though I’m not sure how that will occur.

Since we don’t know exactly where Robin is being held, my best guess is that it’s definitely not in Paris. Perhaps Anna will talk Patrick into going there alone to look for Robin, perhaps never to return, and leave his daughter with her grandma.

Brooklyn’s closest competition, acting-wise, is the little girl who plays Faith on Y&R, and who did an exceptional job on Thursday evening’s Dolly Parton biography, right down to the Tennessee accent. Let’s just hope that TPTB on both of those soaps choose not to SORAS these characters in a year or so in order to make them teenagers. They have terrific young actresses already, and I think fans are really tired of the unrealistic aging of core family children just to create love stories. Yucch!

If the Daytime Emmies continue next year, I think they should create a special award for exception performances by children under the age of 10, in which case Brooklyn Rae Silzer would be shoo-in as the current year’s recipient. What a talented little girl, just as her TV mom was at the same age. Another star has been born.

I didn’t realise Brooklyn was staying, great news.

“I” would truly say… my hats off to.. and adore… and am smitten

Brooklyn Rae Silzer; Emma, GH
Lauren Boles; ex-Ciera, Days
Hannah Nordberg; ex-Josslyn, GH

Good stuff today. Random observations….

Emma was incredibly moving…hope her real life is way better and as a child actress she has very supportive parents.

Billy is finally getting to show his range as an actor on GH…put his smitten, lovey-dovey face with Liz against the face we saw today as he confronted Liz and walked out. Wow! And if Liz didn’t get it, part of the strong bond with Jason and Sonny were the absolutes…loyalty and trust…and she betrayed both. Don’t know if there is a path back from that. I know some say she stood behind Jake/Jason, but it was because of her own selfish reasons.

Another big black mark against Liz…she is also a major architect in Emma’s distress. If she had revealed Jake was Jason from the get-go, Patrick and Sam probably wouldn’t have gotten as far into their relationship, lived together as a family, and then got engaged…making it all that harder for Emma today.

Still can’t believe Anna, Robert and Patrick haven’t done more to unravel Robin’s leaving and track her down.

Kinda wish Olivia and Johnny had bumped into each other at the Haunted Star to see where that could go…again. At one time they had quite a relationship…along with her homemade cannolies, etc.

Soooo bored with Lulu, who has never been one of my favorite characters no matter who played the role, Dante, except when he’s playing cop, and Valerie. Feel bad they couldn’t have found a better role for her than femme fatale.

I didnt think of that. Yeah, Liz screwed over little Emma to.Damn her!

This was a great episode, soapy, tear filled, heartbreaking, beautifully acted and written. Jason, Billy, Kelly and Rebecca were wonderful. But it was Brooklyn that destroyed me. Amazing acting for such a young lady. I love GH, but I am rarely in tears. Today I was constantly in tears. Beautifully done. I smell Emmys!

Who is Elizabeth’s mother?

Interesting question! She and her sister came to live with Audrey as teenagers. I think Jeff (McGyver) was her dad (hoped he’d visit but never did) and I thought he and mom were missionary doctors or something but never mentioned her. maybe that’s why Liz is messed up….being dumped by her parents….

I believe Liz’s parents worked for Doctors Without Borders, stationed in Yugoslavia at the time Liz came to live with Audrey in 1997 (?)

The caliber of acting on GH has been outstanding. Little Emma is most talented. She’s a keeper. I hope GH keeps her on.

The acting on GH is always top-notch..
GH is home to the best of the best actors..
When they get the material to strut their acting, they all do ”emmy” performances..

Sad, but Emma no longer has a connection on GH but Anna and the Anna charter lives a dangerous life, and not a good thing for Emma// Anna is not an at home mother character..
Emma will leave with Patrick.. It will be a good thing 🙂

How did Sam toy with anyone? She found out her husband was alive and living in the same for a yr. What is with these ELIZAHOE FANS? Seriously the only ones at fault for all of this honestly is Nik, and Liz so don’t blame Sam for any of this. Y’a
ll can never get over the fact that Jason choose to marry Sam and not that Elizatwat wench! If that skezer Liz would have said something Patrick and Sam would not have gone this far.

I totally agree Pina! I said the same thing several posts above.

I love Lizzy, but yes her actions were selfish and atrocious. She should have listened to Laura. Laura is ALWAYS right.
And yes, I don’t understand why some folks are being critical of Sam. She gets to be upset with Lizzy and is well within her rights.
I just hope little Miss Lizzy picks herself up from her boot straps, dusts herself off, and walks into the sunset as a strong, self actualized, confident woman who doesn’t need any man to make her feel complete.
She’s been a work in progress since the day she showed up unannounced at Grandma Audrey’s as a teenager ordering pizza on her Grandma’s credit card, drinking beer, smoking cigarettes and armed with nothing but an attitude.
Let her get back her feisty spirit and man, let her stop with the sniveling desperation which obliterates her sense of right and wrong. That’s not out Mizz Lizzy!

Hi Harry,,
Liz played a good game !!

——– “All Is Fair in Love and War” ——–

Agree with you Pina, a million times over. Nik is the root of all evil, which threw me for a loop since he is supposed to be the ‘good’ Cassadine. I still maintain that Helena hypnotized his brain, stole his real brain and replaced it with Victor’s or Stavros’s. Lol.
By the by? Is your full name Giuseppina? Italians always use the end of a name as a nickname/moniker. Just curious, forgive me.

It’s good to see the old GH back. Showing the true character of Liz and Carly. Emma is another Robin. Emmy time

Shes a little dreamboat and I wish she could stay but she needs to be with her parents. We can only assume shes acted this way off camera, wanting her mommy back and now that SHAM has hit the road, Emma is crushed and needs stability. This little girl is a great actor and I want to see her grow-up on GH but for now it would be wrong to ship her to grandma’s house!

I dont think Brooklyn is leaving.

Maybe Maxie could raise her… there is sort of a symmetry there right?

We finally have Robin and Patrick back together and soap or no soap Emma should be with her parents who are unfortunately off the show. What I think is best is having Emma visit Anna a lot and also she can stay with Uncle Mac so she can stay on camera and grow up on the show like Kim did.

Brooklyn — What a great performance–I cried like a baby — stellar!! Brava

Performances from all yesterday were amazing! A heartbreaking episode. I can’t wait for Carly to find out Liz knew!!

Right? It’ll be worse than an H-bomb, Jeff. Lol.

Amazing all around Brooklyn was phenomenal better than some adults she deserves an emmy. I wish Sam and Patrick stayed together I use to be a total Jasam fan but I started to love these two as a couple breaks my heart a little. I hate Liz but Rebecca is always a powerhouse preformer.

All the performances were excellent. Brooklyn is a great little actress and I hope she stays on GH when Patrick leaves. I wish Robin would come home to her as she is so troubled by not having a mother and father living together. When GH ended today I wondered if Jason was going back to Liz to give her a second chance. I cant wait until Monday to find out!

Nope, hes going back to blast her again. No reunion for Jason and Liz.

I’m hoping Jason will remember 2006-2009 – back when Sam and Carly were terrible towards Elizabeth… actually Carly has been terrible for a lot longer. Remember after Lucky “died” in the fire above Jason’s cycle shop? Jason allowed Elizabeth a slow dance while she tried to imagine Lucky being with her… it only lasted a short moment, but Carly spied at them from the window and thought Jason was cheating on her and so she ran to Sonny and then they proceeded to both betray Jason, by sleeping with each other.

Liz has stood by Jason, saved his life a few times after he was shot and passed out in the snow… they had a secret hideaway to met each other (after Jake was born), they wanted to be together as a family, but his dangerous line of work was too scary to put baby Jake in the the middle of. He even proposed to Elizabeth, but then Michael got shot and it was a deadly reminder that mob kids really aren’t safe. Sam on the other hand, watched as baby Jake was kidnapped and did nothing to stop it. Then she hired a couple of guys with guns to confront Elizabeth and her two boys, to scare her away from Jason. She went to Carly’s and taunted her to tell her Jason & Elizabeth’s secret… that Jason was Jake’s real father. Naturally Carly started up with the hating Elizabeth and went on a typical rampage.

Wish he would remember how long he’s know Elizabeth, how long he’s loved her and all the times that Carly and Sam were just hateful. The two of them have done so many horrible things. I know Elizabeth kept this most recent secret too long, but I hope Jason can remember all the times she tried to tell him “something”, and remember how long she loved Jake Doe before knowing he was her longtime love, Jason.

And wish he’d remember Emily too. 🙂

Its NOT love when you lie to a person, no matter what the reason for it.

Ha! True. But Carly and Sam have lied and cheated wayyyyy more times than Elizabeth, and Jason always seemed to get past it. Just like Sonny told Jason, that Carly has done a lot of bad things, lying to Sonny and he would be so angry at her, but always seemed to get over it and get back together with her because he loves her.

Majority of people who love each other always seem to lie about one thing or another, especially on a soap, and they seem to get over it. What Carly and Sonny did with each other all those years ago, betraying Jason, he seemed to get over it, as Sonny was still his boss and best friend, and same for Carly.

Wow…I learn something new all the time, Christy. Another good reason to make me despise Sam and Carly a little bit more. I guess compared to those actions, Elizabeth’s lie doesn’t sound as ominous. However, it still does not absolve what Lizzie did. One should never be afraid of the truth.

Brooklyn gave an performance not normally expected for her age. It was outstanding! Can’t remember what the last time a child actor her age performed that well. Hope the people in charge at General Hospital do whatever is necessary to keep her on the canvas. The kid pool at GH is going to get thin pretty soon. Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer) might not be available too much longer if his Disney show does well. And GH already let go of Hanna Nordberg (ex Joss). She proved last night in The Coat of Many Colors that she could play a wider range.

Fun post

I’m delighted that these child actors hold their own… and frontburner…

I am so glad I am NOT Liz right now.

Emma really brought it, she didn’t hold back, she REALLY let the waterworks, the pain, the anguish, just GUSH out of her! On rewatch, I noticed even a pro like Jason Thompson couldn’t hide his pride in her with a little smile. I am so sad this father-daughter team will soon be no more.

I loved Brooklyn acting today

Love Jason acting too

Love Kelly and Rebecca acting too

I’m ready for Sam and Jason going forward

Now it is Phase 2..with Julian and Alex is trying to keep them apart

Just watched the episode… I so would like to see Robin & Patrick in witness protection but unable to fathom Brooklyn leading such a life on the run & in danger. Abandon Emma, leaving her with Gramma Anna for her own good. And watch what happens to the girl dealing with her abandonment issues as she grows up in Port Charles!

Kudos to that little spitfire actress! Nicely done & genuinely portrayed – hoping you stick around, but if not on GH at least in the public eye! 🙂

Brooklyn could certainly give lessons to the other actors on GH. She made me cry. She really tugged at my heartstrings. I want mommy !. I can’t wait to see her and Patrick go to Paris, discover Robin is not there get Anna and Robert to come and they can rescue her. I don’t know who coached this beautiful child but she certainly brought it. Great work. Patrick, ?Jason always can bring the tears , Sam and Lizzie here we gio again. Liz may have been at the heart of emma’s pain, today but she kept Danny and Sam safe with no mobster hit man to live with. Carly , I hope falls off her high horse if she says a word. Remember carolie, all the pain you caused Bobbie and Tony. The pain she has caused Michael, Monica , AJ. etc etc, etc.Carly’s middle name is liar. Jake/Jason was a killing machine for the mob. Wonder if jake will be happy about that, and jump back in the middle of Sonny’s mob ? I will watch the end of scrubs, than its over. Toooo much mob for me. Plus I don’t care about the rest of the show. Laura came back a year to late. I did enjoy Emmas performance. and loved seeing carlos back. Anna didn’t kill him in cold blood but. The intent was there. Someone needs to tell TIIC to wake up and give us a soap not mobs are us.

I wanted to burst through the tv and hug that kid myself. Brava!!!

Yes, Carly and Sam have lied and behaved badly in the past, but Liz hiding Jason’s true identity not only hurt him and so many others, it was life changing. It would have gone on a lifetime if she’d had her way. That kind of lie is unforgivable. And, she is still talking crap to Sam, who should slap her face. That kind of lie if unforgiveable. So sorry JasonThompson is leaving. His scenes with Sam and little Emma were heartbreaking. Such a talent.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

Patrick J. Gibbons

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.

However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.

Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG

Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!

Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”

MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL

Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).

Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY

Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”

It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”

A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS

As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”

He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”

Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.

So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’ Alum Chad Duell Admits That He Didn’t Expect the Role of Michael Corinthos to be Recast, and Would Consider Working on Another Soap (Exclusive)

Published

By

Chad Duell, the Daytime Emmy-winning actor, who stepped away from the pivotal role of Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, opened up about: his previous decision to leave the series after nearly 15 years, where’s he’s at now after time away from the demands of a daytime soap opera, and took a stroll down memory lane with some of Michael’s most-acclaimed storyline during his run, during a livestream chat on August 19 on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel.

Viewers last saw Duell on-screen as Michael in January of 2025, and with his successor in the role, Rory Gibson making his debut at the GH Nurses’ Ball in episodes that aired later in May. It was clear that during the conversation, Chad was a bit surprised that the GH brass decided to recast him when he thought he was just taking some much needed time off.

Burn-out of the daily grind of being on a soap was definitely a part of Chad’s decision to take a break. Duell explained “People know when you’re doing something for so long or your character is kind of in the same place for so long or doing the same stuff over and over again, you do get a a little burnt out, you get a little stiff, stale, a little stiff at times. I didn’t want that to be any sort of lasting impression. I have 15 years of a body of work of I’ve done on that show, which is fantastic.”

WHILE CHAD WAS AWAY GH RECAST MICHAEL CORINTHOS WITH RORY GIBSON

Chad shared, his mindset when leaving GH was, “I’m taking some time away, we’ll see what happens.” Then he added, “Obviously, they decided to go in a different direction with Michael when I was gone. I didn’t think they were going to bring somebody back in my place. But you know, it’s the business. You never know what can happen.”

Duell also shared he has not watched a single episode of General Hospital since he left the series, but now feels he reenergized following the loss of his father and stepping away from the GH, “I’m in a place now mentally, where I’m ready to sink my teeth into it again.”

Even though he is no longer Michael on GH, Chad was very happy with his final storyline where Michael was set on fire when a bomb exploded at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. “It was fun to put him in a dangerous situation, because I was wanting Michael to be in something scary instead of trying to be a hero character or just things happening around him, but to be the center point of tragedy happening to him. (I always saw) Michael as the heart of the (Corinthos) family.”

When Michael was badly burned the show chose not burn his face, which normally a soap does when they are recasting role and switching actors. Chad weighed-in, “They didn’t burn my face because I told Frank Valentini (EP, GH) I’m willing to come back. It was just a little bit of a break. So, I assumed that if they would have burned my face, they could have brought somebody back looking different than me… if that’s what their plan was.”

MEMORABLE MICHAEL STORYLINES

One of Chad’s most memorable performances was the in the storyline of Michael’s rape while he was sentenced to prison in 2010 and the confession of it in 2011. “It was so well-written and I was very nervous,” recalled Chad. “When I get really nervous about something, it ends up being really good when I do it, because it just means I care a lot about it”

“I have to put a lot of effort and work into it, and I really want it to be good.  I was working with Dominic  Zamprogna (Dante) and Steve Burton (Jason) a lot during those scenes, and Laura Wright (Carly). It was great working with Steve and Dominic, especially, during that storyline.

A NEW SOAP ROLE FOR CHAD?

As to a future soap opera role, Chad is open to the idea and would love to jump back in to a juicy role, “I know people over at The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless. They know that if they’re interested, I would love to come in for a screen test or something, and they can see what I’m doing.”

Meanwhile, Chad has been busy putting out new music under the moniker Duelly and during the interview he explains how he creates his EDM tracks and much more. You can stream his latest single, Static in the Quiet Room on Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube Music.

You can check out the full conversation with Chad Duell below.

Now let us know: what show would you like to see Chad cast on down the line? BTG, DAYS, B&B, Y&R, or a new role on GH? What did you think of his thoughts on the casting switch while he was away in the role of Michael? What was your favorite Michael storyline during Chad’s 15-year run on the ABC soap opera? GENERAL HOSPITAL: Ric’s History of Jealousy Where Elizabeth is Concerned Has Come Back Around

Published

on

By

Ric

On General Hospital, Ric Lansing (Rick Heart) is about to fall back into dangerous old patterns by the foreshadowing during the Wednesday, August 19 episode. After first coming to see his brother, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and telling him of his plan to propose to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) his longtime love tonight, Sonny has concerned.

Next, Sonny reminds his brother of what has happened in the past, when things have gone south with Elizabeth and wonders if it’s too soon for him to propose to her. What Ric did not tell Sonny is that he has seen the developing closeness between Sonny’s son, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth, which is propelling his urgent need to propose.

Meanwhile, Dante ran into Elizabeth at the park during a break from their mutual team softball games. She needs help with a bookcase after the game at her house. Dante wants to put it together for her. Later, Dante arrived at Elizabeth’s house, limping after injuring his knee during the game. Head nurse Liz wanted to check out the injury as much as Dante protested, which required him to take off his pants.

RIC BEGINS TO UNRAVEL

Outside Elizabeth’s widow, Ric arrives with a bouquet of roses and the engagement ring. When he leers through the widow he is shocked to see Elizabeth rubbing Dante’s leg while Dante is in his boxer/shorts. He storm troops into the house, demanding to know what is going on here? Both Elizabeth and Dante look surprised by his reaction. In the pick-up of today’s Thursday, August 20 episode (see GH video teaser below), viewers will learn the upshot for all three characters.

A VENGEFUL PAST

As longtime GH fans know, Ric has done some horrible, vengeful things in regards to Elizabeth starting back in 2003 after she lost her baby after Ric’s ex, Faith Rosco pushed her down a flight of stairs. Ric accused Sonny for the accident and to get revenge, Ric kidnapped Carly (who was married to Sonny at the time), and stashed her in a panic room below the house where he was living with Liz.

On top of that, Ric fed his wife Elizabeth birth control pills to keep her from getting pregnant so that they could raise Carly’s baby together after it was born. Eventually, Elizabeth found Carly in the panic room but ended up having a pulmonary embolism. When she woke up in the hospital, Elizabeth was all confused by what happened, and Ric convinced her that her vision of  Carly was just a bad dream. Eventually, Elizabeth learned the horrifying truth and divorced Ric.

Years later, Ric noticed the connection between Elizabeth and “Jake Doe” who eventually turned out to be Drew (Billy Miller) A jealous Ric hired Hayden Barnes to show up and claim to be “Jake’s” wife. Elizabeth stepped aside, and when Ric planned to propose to Elizabeth at the 2015 Nurses Ball, Carly exposed his manipulations, and Elizabeth dumped him yet again. And those are just two examples of the lengths Ric will go to for Elizabeth!

So, we ask you, given the history of Elizabeth and Ric, how do you see this playing out with Dante in the picture? How will Ric derail their growing bond? Share your thoughts via the comment section below.
