GENERAL HOSPITAL: Carly Catches On To Ryan Leading To Dire Consequences
All of Ryan Chamberlain’s (Jon Lindstrom) recent machinations may come back to bite him this week on General Hospital. as all roads will lead to dramatic episodes of the ABC daytime drama series. As GH Co-Head Writer, Shelly Altman tells Soap Opera Digest in their latest issue on newsstands now: “This is a can’t-miss week. So many trains are running down tracks that are certain (to collide) with a big bang.”
Viewers were left with an exciting cliffhanger on Friday’s episode which saw Carly (Laura Wright) standing behind Ryan in the parking lot now knowing that “Kevin” is Ryan. How did we get here? Earlier, after Carly finds Jason released from the hospital, she tells him about Franco’s (Roger Howarth) interview with Lulu (Emme Rylan) and that Franco called Ryan Chamberlain by the name of Tom Wilson. She recalls the man in the room next to her when she was locked away at Ferncliff was named Wilson. Jason (Steve Burton) begs her to stay away from the mental facility and to not put her unborn baby at risk.
Ava (Maura West) comes upon “Kevin” being bandaged at GH up after he claims Franco injured him when he went to confront him following Franco’s confessional interview of the serial murders, which was a set-up by Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) to lure the real killer out After dancing around why he went to see Franco and “risking” his life, he asks Ava to run away with him tonight to Canada to get married.
Mac (John J. York) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) try to help jog Lulu’s foggy memory about the night she was stabbed and attacked, and remember discovering there were two more potential victims in Ryan’s killing spree making it 9, when there used to be only 7. Felicia asks Lulu how she learned about these new victims, and she explains Laura (Genie Francis) saw a list of Ryan’s victims in Kevin’s office. Everyone wonders how Kevin got the names. C’mon Lulu, get it together and remember what happened to you, the answer is right in front of you!
Liz (Rebecca Herbst) is stunned when Franco appears at her door, stabbed and bleeding out. After tending to his wounds, she calls the paramedics, but before he passes out he tells her he did not do commit the murders, but Ryan Chamberlain did. When Chase (Josh Swickard) arrives on the scene she relates what Franco said to him, but passes it off as Franco being delirious from his stabbing.
After Ava agrees to marry “Kevin”, she heads home to pack, but tells him she’ll meet him back at GH. On her way to the elevator, Ava runs into Carly and announces to her enemy that she and “Kevin” are getting married, and exits. Then, Mac and Felicia arrive as Carly thinks this is too insane to be true, and Felicia thinks Ava must be lying.
In Jordan’s hospital room, Nina (Michelle Stafford) goes through Jordan’s purse in order to get her keys so she can get Curtis (Donnell Turner) some new clothes while he is waiting for his wife to come out of surgery. However, she sees Jordan’s phone has a voice mail marked “urgent” and hands it to Curtis who looks very distressed.
In the hospital garage, Ryan stores his lock box containing all of his victim’s licenses in the trunk of his car. When he closes the trunk, Carly is standing behind him. Showdown time!
So, will Ava and Carly have to team up to bring down Ryan? How do you think Ryan’s reign of terror will comes to a conclusion? Share your thoughts via the comment section below?
What a set-up for next week! February Sweeps might be over, but GH is definitely heating things up heading into March. Something tells me Ryan is going to kidnap Carly, there will be a car accident involving Ryan/Carly and the Teen Scene heading up to Niagara Falls, and it will result in Carly losing her baby. I can’t see GH giving Carly a successful pregnancy this late in her life with the multitude of issues that could arise and create really good drama between her and Sonny. I just don’t want to see this story lead to Sonny and Margaux hooking up.
As for the Ryan story, there are so many balls up in the air right now, with all of them sure to come crashing down sooner rather than later. The build up to this moment has been excellent, and I’m most looking forward to Ava’s wrath when she realizes she’s been having an affair with the psycho who killed her daughter. Maura West will rock those scenes, as she always does.
The most maddening part of this story for me is what has been done to Franco in the process. I realize it was necessary for this part of the story to work, and bringing in Franco and Lulu’s history to conflate the memories of her two attacks (the first by Franco years ago and the second by Ryan) was smart, yet also beyond maddening because we all know Franco didn’t do it.
And after years of being the town pariah, I want Franco to have his happily ever after with Liz. He’s earned it, and his redemption story has been superbly done. The best thing to come out of this is that Drew never believed Franco was guilty, solidifying their growing bond, which is one of the highlights of GH right now. Given their shared childhood trauma at the hands of Jim Harvey, it makes sense that they would share a bond. Liz, Nina and Ava have all been skeptical since day one about Franco’s guilt too, and let’s not forget that he’s still grieving for Kiki. Plus, we still need a proper “Friz” wedding! This is why I don’t believe Franco will die.
I’m really looking forward to next week’s episodes, and this story reaching its conclusion!
I follow you to the letter, Jimmy….I like Franco; always have …….because I love Roger.
I didn’t know the original Franco……did not watch GH at the time.
However, in my opinion, I don’t think Franco should come out the hero, if this is the writers’ intention.
The story did not follow the path I wanted it to LOL) …..so many other more feasible choices. This congregating in Niagara Falls follows no pattern; unless crazy Ryan planned to throw Ava “overboard”. Surprisingly enough, he didn’t do it to Carly…..and, here I thought he was the fiendish, most unscrupulous monster this side of the Falls.
I hope that by the time Ryan is “over”, no one else will die—no one I like, anyway…LOL.❤️
So the entire Ryan Chamberlain storyline comes down to propping Frankie’s pets Frodd & Ava, while characters who were actually involved in the original Ryan storyline, like Felicia & Lucy, are rarely seen.
If Ryan had actually killed Frodd & Ava, that would have been an improvement, of course. Except then they would be in Hell, and become MY problem.
Satan, this is one time I agree with Satan! 🙂
While there has been some improvement it should had been Felicia confronting Ryan…still the story has flaws as no worker at the mental hospital ever figures Kevin’s patient was Ryan..too much involvement with Carly and Ava in this when original Ryan story characters like Lucy and Felicia are barely seen…Mac should had been the commish…had Ryan caused Drew to swerve his car into Mac in an attempt to kill Mac who figured out Kevin is really Ryan but now in a coma ect…Ava could had found Felicia as Ryans real obsession…Spenser figures the truth and Laura confronts Ryan and Kevin at the same time not knowing which is which,,,she is holding a gun that Spenser tries to take from her knowing who the real Ryan is but the gun goes off on a Friday Cliffhanger with the viewers not know who actually got shot…anyway, where is TJ when his mom is hospitalized!!!!
TPTB never learn, Jimmy–they never listen to you!! I believe everything you say!!
I don’t know Ryan’s “association” with Felicia too well; but, enough to agree with you. It would have been poetic justice for her and Mac figure out the Ryan/Kevin mystery–To make Franco the hero would be going against all that’s reasonable. It’s still not too late….we shall see.
I, also, think Anna is Alex ( or she has her sister’s memories) and vice versa–which means, Peter is Alex’s son, not Anna’s. But, Griffin may very well be Anna’s and Duke’s son. I find all this and the Ryan’s such asinine stories—-yet, I will just roll with whatever , anyway….
Faison’s infatuation was with Alex? Oh, Lordy Lord, Jimmy—-I’m confusing myself. LOL.❤️
now im confused…lol
PS, Jimmy,
I was thinking that it would be apropos if Kevin were the one to have the last ‘hurrah’, where Ryan is concern—-considering Ryan incarcerated him and put him through hell—anyone whose life was directly affected by crazy Ryan will do!! Anyone else but Franco !!
Kiki’s gran Dee should had been mention being her grandaughter was murdered..Scott wasnt around when son FRanco was stabbed and no mention of his mom Heather-at least she could had been told off screen
Yes, Delia should have made an appearance….
Does she even know Avery? You’re right, Jimmy……at the very least, both Delia and Heather should have been mentioned.
Considering Heather seems to be up to par with whatever happens in Port Charles………And, the fact that she has the ability to come and go as she pleases, one would think she’d sneak into Franco’s hospital room—-guard or no guard…
Absoluement, CeeCeeGirl!!! There’s no way in Hades that Heather would not have at least had knowledge of Ryan’s existence and all of his previous activities in the cuckoo’s nest….that woman’s legendary antenna picks up all, far and wide….always has, always will!!! To have excluded her from this scenario was inexcusable! Ditto for Dee!!!! Their progeny had pivotal roles in Ryan’s crime spree….the fact that their prospective presences were ignored is but another travesty attached to this much-flawed and inexplicable storyline.
You got that right. We USED to have cliffhangers. Plot so diluted now that no one cares. TPTB have forgotten the tenets of writing a gripping storyline–and PLAYING IT OUT dramatically. Sigh!
The show needs us to be wanting more…not making it a bore!!!!
I agree, Jim. But yesterday’s show (Monday, March 4) was pitch perfect. Who would have thunk that Sonny and Robert could have such a wonderful bromance? Robert is cooler than the other side of the pillow and he makes Sonny look cool. Frank and the writers if you are listening, more please. This could be the start of a beautiful relationship.
Nope…cant happen…Jason would be jealous that Robert is getting too close to his love Sonny-lol
Harry–you’re a man after my own heart. As usual, I agree with you–couldn’t agree more re Robert and Sonny. (And I just love that expression “cooler than the other side of the pillow.” Now, that’s one I haven’t heard before! 🙂
And to think that Robert Scorpio once existed to put men like Sonny in the slammer….now he’s all buddy-buddy with this thug??? I realize that needs must, but how the mighty have fallen… albeit whilst still maintaining their undeniable cool.
PPS (LOL), Jimmy,
It looks like our Jason ( such a softie) will come out the hero– at least, Laura will take some of the credit.
But, Gee-Whiz—-why is it always Jason smack in the middle of everything?
Not only will he take Ryan in, but he will also save Ava and Carly….
Uh-oh, Jimmy….this just came to me…..What are the chances Ryan will disappear in the depths ( Ha!) of the Niagara River? No body to be found! Oh, no!! Not again??
I hope Ryan survives…not only has he got to kill off more bores like Willow and Chase,he has got to be around when Ava gives birth to their baby-lol
LOL, is right……You may get your wish, Jimmy—-if Ryan’s “body” is a no show; he may go back to PC to do just that. But, would he be that stupid?
Ava pregnant with Ryan’s baby? Hmmmm–intriguing thought!!
I fear for Carly’s baby…easy out for a tough story line
Loving this storyline and can’t wait for tomorrow! GH has been amazing.
Ryan will be killed, and one of his kidneys will go to Jordan.
Say what????!!!!
Good thinking, Carrie—
Yet, knowing how weird GH is about Faison and his masks; memory-approptiation; twin-blindness etc.; would it be too much of a stretch { if living with Ryan’s kidney(s) } to think that sooner or later, Jordan will turn into a “Mrs”. Hyde?
Or…..Valerie will be killed and her kidney will go to Jordan. The actress is leaving. Ryan can’t die–supernatural villains like him live forever.
Or, sadly, it might be Oscar. Drew and Kim will offer one of Oscar’s kidneys to Jordan. There may be some tear-jerking scenes between Drew and Curtis.
Yeah but Ava and Carly don’t even like each other so why would they team up against Ryan? The only way for Ryan to end his conclusion if Ava is the one to kill the guy first before he kills somebody else, he will be tough to beat of course so I think Ryan should kill himself before he goes any further
I do believe, at some point, there has to be some sort of truce between Carly/Sonny and Ava. They may never be besties but, they cannot carry on this feud for ever. If you were in a fight for your life along side of someone that you can’t stand would you not team up to save yourselves? My guess is that, rather than team up, Ava will somehow be instrumental in saving Carly. Not sure that CarlyJason will ever acknowledge Ava is capable of good (remember, Jason has no gratitude for her role in saving him) but Sonny may. Which could then lead to friction between Carly and Sonny. And the beat goes on. As far as the kids, I’m still not certain what type of trouble awaits them. I’m just glad that Franco will be okay.
I’m loving the storyline winding down, there’s so many ways it could end, I don’t care if Ava, or Kevin, or Laura or even Franco have Ryan brought to justice, as long as they don’t turn this into Carly or Jason saving the day. If the storyline is coming to the end(its played out way to long). please do it justice and don’t make it anticlimactic by now throwing Carly and Jason in the mix. as soon as I saw carly in the Friday cliffhanger my first though was oh here we go again, they are going to set up Carly needing to be rescued and of course carly can only be “saved” by Jason . if so, it will be a dissappointing ending.
Agreed! LAURA should be front and center! Yet, she’s been off-screen for the better part of two weeks now. Kevin is HER husband. This should be Laura’s story. Yes, so very disappointing. And it so dissipates and dilutes the story line. Not exciting–just tedious and stale and–dare I say it?–boring. TPTB should know you do NOT stop and start an exciting plot line. You use a linear device–to keep the momentum going. Otherwise, it’s has none and just peters out with the audience shouting at the screen: GET ON WITH IT!
This story was being drawn out at time and I thought it would never end. But suddenly, it’s taken on a new life and has gone places I didn’t imagine it would. This is how it should have been all along. When a story is planned out, all those pesky schedules and ratings weeks should be planned for. Writers need to give us exciting stuff like they’re writing now throughout the entire story. Play it less if you don’t have the actors or time’s too long between hitting key dates with key story points. Plan it out!
As much as I’ll groan about GH’s writing being a mess, I whole-heartedly think they hit it out of the park when they hit their stride. They’re doing that now with a number of stories.
Can’t wait to see the next episode!
Hmmmm…I don’t know–will everyone come to the convlusion Ryan is not Kevin, at the same time?
Too many inconsistencies. For a minute I had thought that Franco would have found himself within the bowels of Ferncliff; thus, finding Kevin and Laura, unwittingly ‘saving’ him.
Who will be Jordan’s kidney donor? Franco?
Oh, and…this memory thing with all the twins? Bullcaca!! Mundane and medically inexplicable. Just sayin’. It’s a soap!!
The blind virus has a purpose… they just haven’t got to that plot point yet. Remember when Dr Kim was researching various “experimental” cancer treatments, which use a virus to target tumors??
With both Drew and Jason as compatible blood donors for Oscar, the virus probably still present in their bodies will be used to formulate a cure for Oscar. And of course, the other result from all the memory swapping potential is that Anna will turn out not to be Whiny Heiny’s mom after all, she just “remembered” Alex giving birth to him.
Celia
I am laughing so hard, I am almost convulsing, at your word. It’s probably a typo, but funny non the less. Please don’t be angry, you probably know by now, I have a crazy sense of humour.
I think Aunt Stella will be Jordan’s donor, tieing her even closer.
Bullcaca? LOL…no, not a typo. My sense of humor is just as “crazy-weird” as yours–
Have you ever seen the Liberty Insurance commercial with the cyclist along the Hudson? His calves? I break into peals of laughter just thinking about those satirical calves….laughing right now!! The thing is, my laughter is so contagious ( LOUD), people start laughing without knowing why….
Aunt Stella? Oh, Lawd!! That’s rich!!
Celia
Read your comment starting with “Hmmmmm, I don’t know. Will everyone come to the same CONVLUSION Ryan is not Kevin at the same time.” I think you were typing CONCLUSION, but I read it as CONVULSION, with your typing VLU, instead of VUL. Only in my weird mind, did I mix up the two words, leaving me in hysterical laughter, with my cat looking at me like I’d lost my mind. Please , let’s just forget the whole thing, seeing as I seem to be the only one seeing the twisted word. I know bullcaca and loverly, especially when applied to the aforementioned characters. I hope the DOD SL doesn’t make me as crazy as this one.
Oh yes, Aunt Stella is a strong possibility.
Oh, my Lord!! Miss Violet……that IS a typo!! I hadn’t even realized.
I get it–I unwittingly created a double ‘entendre’–and, as yours, I find humor where others do not!!
I like COVULSION better. So a’ propos–it fits!!
This is nuts!! Everyone’s headed for Niagara Falls…
I am trying do hard to follow the reasoning. Was Ryan’s intention to just step over the Peace Bridge and VOILA’ , he and Ava are in Ontario, Canada? Away from the law?
Big coincidence for the kids to follow the same path….not only are they all convulsing, but also, the entired scenario is a convoluted mess!!
Celia
Thank you for rereading your comment. Was thinking that you were thinking that I’d really gone around the bend.
I’ve been reading all kinds of scenarios to this Ryan ending. For one, he dissapears, another is he’s shot, etc. I want to see someone get the satisfaction of getting him, be it Ava, Laura, or? As far as a kidney for Jordan, even with a dead body, they can’t just take a kidney from him, without consent, right? Could Kevin give his o.k, being next of kin?
Violet,
I had this feeling that Ryan would disappear…..isn’t that his modus operandi?…..whether planned or not!?However, I find it neither mystifying nor ‘cute’….it’s actually a recycled plot….
The story should end with Ryan dead sprawled on some boulder…..better yet drift downriver; emptying into the great Falls and swallowed by the heavy pressure of the cascades!! Too cruel? Oh, well….
I hope he is found for Jordan’s sake….if he is a match, that is!! But, there’s no prolonging. Cells die if too much time goes by.
So, yeah, Kevin could give permission. I doubt Ryan is a registered organ donor? Too funny!!
When there’s no next of kin, to sign off; there’s CORE—-surprisingly, GH has not mentioned this? It’s make believe soapland…..TPTB make their own rules….
Jimh suggested a ‘little’ Ryan or Ryanette to be borne by Ava….how about that? And the saga continues? Before long the baby will be ten, and Ryan will return to claim his prize.
Celia
I don’t know about anyone else, but this “end” of Ryan was a total let down, after all the months of murder and mayhem, leading up to the finale, and no body. WTH! I agree with you. I also wanted to see him at least drowned.
Oh, speaking of which, I almost peed my depends when Jason was telling his Loverly about saving Ava, and he said ” well I couldn’t let her go, in front of Laura” Does that mean he would have, if Laura hadn’t been there? Also Oscar’s talk with Drew was nice, but with all of Drew’s double talk, did he ever really answer his son’s question of should he our shouldn’t he? Hope Oscar was less confused than I was.
Ahhhh!!…..on second thought, Violet, can you possibly mean “loverly”? Nah–not a typo either. Loverly–“rly” , the tail end of Carly. LOL. You got it the first time. LOL.
Those two crazy kids are nuts about each other and no one gets it–not even themselves. HaHa❤️
But the most pertinent question: WHY were the real Kevin and Laura AWOL off screen for so many days? TPTB have forgotten the rules of the game. You need to keep the momentum going–not just stop the action for two weeks. Poor, poor execution of a plot that we are all weary of BECAUSE of its execution. Missed again! Laura should be front and center always; after all, Kevin IS HER husband. “Murder” of a character!
O.K, I’ll be the first to say it. They finally found a way to shut Carly up, and keep her out of everyone’s business.
Violet–that must be a huge car trunk if it can fit Carly’s gigantic mouth in it!
HaHaHa…..Miss Violet…. Shhhh!!….Jason may hear you talk about his “loverly” ….he won’t like it!! Too funny!! ❤️
Wouldn’t it be great if there was a Laura, Ava, Carly showdown with Ryan with each woman getting in their licks… but then they part, and it’s freakin Felecia, standing there with a gun (she’s overheard it all somehow) and gives the monologue of her career (“oh so you forgot about me, huh, well, I sure as hell haven’t been able to forget about you!”) and then she shoots the maniac dead in his tracks. All the woman vow to carry the secret to the grave (since, Ryan was unarmed) which binds these women for several storylines to come…
I know none of this will happen but the GH in my head is pretty awesome.
A serial killer and his fiance are off to get married in Niagara Falls with a bound and gagged woman in the trunk. What could possibly go wrong?
Harry, you DO have a way with words! I just love your posts–sharp, pungent, creative, witty–never mean. What more could a girl ask for? (Double smile!)
Especially since Niagara Falls is frozen over this time of the year. Not that GH will deign to acknowledge that fact! For them, it’s all balmy temps and the water is freely flowing in their version of upstate NY, even though there’s actually a polar plunge occurring in “realville!”…..
Hi, Shay,
We keep missing each other….how are you?
You’re certainly right about the state of NY ‘s “state” of frozen wonderland—-but, I don’t think the falls ever freeze—-even in extreme temps, do they? ….a little ice here and there, maybe.
I’ve visited family in Toronto many times in winter……No freezing, It’s the Law of Physics!! LOL……albeit, I do wish GH would wake from its fairyland dreams—some reality, once in a while would be welcomed.
I cannot seem to take Sam, Jason, Shiloh &Co. seiously—-Sam is still driving me crazy with her monotone mumbling; Jason’s eternally, frozen ( worse than the polar plunge) stare; the twins, Alexis playing cat and mouse with this new guy sporting a hair-do a’ la Emu; and Franco, the hero. Did I overlook anything?
Soon, mia amica.❤️
Too bad Laura will not have the chance to confront Ryan and punch him in the mouth.
I must say……even with her face stained with grime and soot, Genie Francis still looks beautiful!!
Celia
I don’t know why Ava couldn’t hold him, while Carly hits him you know where, with one of her clunky shoes. As Ryan said, now that she’s had more room to stretch out, and give her mouth a rest, she should be ready to do some damage. I am sure Laura will get her chance, when she and Jason get to N.F if he’s still alive.
I’m actually afraid of Carly, Violet…..I am just over five feet!! LOL.
Yet, I could take Ryan just as you described it—had one or two such run-ins during my College days. Ha!! Have no idea what became of them……
So, women of Ava’s and Carly’s caliber, should be an easy feat taking him down…yeah!! Woman Power!! LOL.
This week was good, until Friday, and Creepy Peter was back on.
How many times do we have to endure Parking Lot Peter and Maxie talk about another storyline we don’t care about? That is the storyline of Valentine, Sasha and Nina. They managed to be redundantly boring–like watching a super boring scene in a house of mirrors at the town fair.
Also, not surprised that Dante couldn’t pull off an undercover sting. He never solved a crime in Port Charles. -#keystonecop

Kelly Sullivan Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’s’ Maura West Recalling When Ava Shot Connie (Exclusive)

It was just over 13 years ago on General Hospital when Ava Jerome (Maura West) shot and killed Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan) in an effort to keep her quiet from revealing that Derek Wells was actually Ava’s back-from-the-dead brother, Julian Jerome (William deVry). It’s a crime that somehow Ava never has quite paid for either.
The episode back aired on August 13, 2013 and viewers had to say goodbye to Kelly Sullivan who played Kate and her alter, Connie. In the story, just before she died, Kate/Connie scrawled the letters AJ in her own blood, initially making the PCPD and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) think that it was AJ Quatermaine (Sean Kanan) who did the deed.
Now, Sullivan recalled sharing scenes with the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning West, during a live conversation on You Tube’s Michael Fairman Channel. Kelly was the special guest talking about her recent return to the soaps in her new role as The Bold and the Beautiful’s Darcy Dylan.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MAURA WEST
Speaking of her final GH scenes and working with Maura West, Sullivan gave her then GH co-star major props. “If you’re going to be shot by somebody (on the soaps), you want to be shot by Maura West, c’mon!”
Maura West debuted back in May 2013 as Ava, and Sullivan remembered when the As the World Turns favorite began on GH. “I remember when Maura West first arrived at GH. She walked in with this cute little bob (hairdo) and she’s just delicious,” shared Sullivan.
A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE
Kelly revealed more about Maura, adding “I think she’s amazing! I remember right before I left the show, someone suggested, and I would still love to do this with her, if she ever want to, but someone suggested that they wanted to direct the stage play A Streetcar Named Desire with Maura and I, where I would play Stella and she would play Blanche! Wouldn’t that be great?”
Speaking of the Ava/Connie showdown scenes, Sullivan expressed, “On television and on General Hospital specifically, Maura West is able to play a character who does the most horrendous things and you still care about her and that’s the mark of a really great actor. In other words, you’re able to be liked in the midst of the most horrendous things, and as a performer not shying away from that, and to just have the courage to do what’s on the page (in the script).”

KELLY SULLIVAN PARTING THOUGHTS AS SHE LEFT GENERAL HOSPITAL
Kelly also shared her sentiments when she walked off the set of General Hospital after her run back in August of 2013. “I really was honored. Every day I would go to work and I would say a little prayer, which is I want to do justice for my character, explained Kelly. “It’s between me and my character. I get to walk this path with her and to leave the show on that note, which is, I left every out there. I just gave it my all and again what an honor it was to play Kate/Connie.”
You can catch the full conversation with Kelly where she talks about her time on General Hospital, The Young and the Restless where she played Sage Warner and now The Bold and the Beautiful below.
So, do you remember the Ava and Connie scenes where Ava shot and killed her? What did you think of Kelly Sullivan’s sentiments about Maura West? Share your thoughts via the comment section. But first, watch the reveal where Ava recalls murdering Connie below!

Steve Burton Reportedly Signs Three-Year Contract with ‘General Hospital’

The question of will Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) stay awhile at General Hospital after his recent extended hiatus from the show earlier this year, has reportedly been answered.
TMZ via court documents obtained in Burton’s ongoing legal battle with his ex-wife Sheree Gustin, shared that Steve actually inked a new three year deal with the ABC soap opera back in June.
That is significant because it was June when Burton returned back to work as Jason. In addition, the court filing confirmed that Burton had already moved back to California from Tennessee.

STEVE’S HIATUS AND HIS RETURN TO PORT CHARLES
GH fans will recall, it was back in February of 2026, that Burton announced via his Instagram that he was stepping away from his role of Jason Morgan for short break and pointed to wanting to spend quality time with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom Burton with whom he tied the knot back on May 17, 2025.
Steve expressed at that time, “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family.” It was back on March 25 that viewers saw Jason carted away by the WSB after taking the fall for Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) who shot then WSB Director Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
Burton returned to work on June 1, and due to General Hospital taping roughly six weeks ahead of air, made his on-screen comeback on the July 13 episode.
GOING FOR GOLD AT THE UPCOMING DAYTIME EMMYS
Then, Steve and his enduring fans got an extra special treat on the same day, when it was revealed on Extra that he was nominated for the upcoming 53rd annual Daytime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category.
Steve previously won in the Supporting Actor category for his work as General Hospital’s Jason in 1998 and as The Young and the Restless’ Dylan McAvoy in 2018.
Now with Jason and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship seemingly hitting the skids, plus Jason’s commitment to staying out of mob life to focus on being present for his son Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), what does the future hold for the fan favorite character? Stay tuned.
So, happy to hear that Steve Burton signed a new three year deal with General Hospital? Knowing that, what storyline would you like to see Jason get involved and with who? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason and Britt Reach an Impasse; Is This the End of Their Relationship?

On the Friday, September 11 episode of General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) relationship becomes strained to potentially the point of no return.
Things take a turn when an unglued Britt having been traumatized by almost being killed by Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) asks Jason to back her up with the PCPD when she reports Anna for attempted murder.
However, Jason told Britt, he can’t. Jason shares that he does not believe Anna would have gone through with shooting her. Therefore, Britt was not in any real imminent danger. Britt is flabbergasted and hurt that Jason is refusing to tell the police what he actually witnessed for himself on Mount Emerson.

Courtesy/ABC
BRITT WANTS BACK UP FROM JASON
Jason counters that he can’t believe that Britt would want Anna punished. or sent to prison, or a mental facility after the trauma she endured while being locked up and mentally tortured while at Wyndemere.
He asks Britt, “How could you even say that you want her locked up or prosecuted for what she did when you knew she was being held prisoner and you did nothing to save her?” Britt is stunned by Jason’s response.
Coming up, official General Hospital spoilers share that on the upcoming Monday, September 14 episode, Jason confides in Carly (Laura Wright), while Britt is stung. In the video preview that aired at the end of the Friday, September 11 episode for this coming Monday, Britt says to Jason, “You don’t believe me. Do you?”
General Hospital head scribes, Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte previously teased in their fall preview of the soap, “Britt and Jason have come a long way and fought a lot of enemies to be together. But the most stubborn obstacle to their happiness isn’t without, it’s within. Decisions Britt made to stay alive while under Cullum’s thumb will come back to haunt her and may prove too difficult for this unlikely couple to survive.”
So, what do you think will happen? Will Jason and Britt break-up over Britt’s lies and Jason’s unwillingness to report Anna’s crime against her? Do you want Jason and Britt to go their separate ways? If they do, will Britt become romantically involved with Dr. Tristan Roberts (Dean Geyer) ? If so, who do you pair Jason with? Anyone? Weigh-in via the comment section.
