General Hospital Casting African-American Female In Their 30’s: Who Would You Suggest For The Role?
It’s time for you to put on your casting director hats and let us know who you think from the world of daytime or primetime TV might be a good fit for this upcoming role on General Hospital.
According to Soap Opera Digest, GH is looking to fill the contract role of “Jessica”. She is said to be: “Beautiful & dynamic. She is strong, smart & savvy and plays both sides of the law.”
The series is looking for an African-American actress from her early to late 30’s to play the part.
The role will start shooting episodes next month in August.
This character description reminds a bit of the role of Jordan (Vinessa Antoine).
So, who would you suggest for this contract role? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
Character description sounds like Jordan Ashford.
Thought that at first. Jordan should be 40 at a minimum, although VA is 35, but skews older. Some say age doesn’t matter on soaps, but TJ shouldn’t look like he could date his mother (the 4 days TJ is actually on).
Victoria Rowell. Just kidding.
yay… more newbies. (insert demonic eye rolling here)
An African American female actress in her 30’s….Hmmmm. I love Lolo Jones….but, she’s an athlete. Would she qualify?
That actress from OLTL who also was on The Good Wife.
Um, you mean Tony-Award winning actress and one of the stars of Hamilton, Renee Goldsberry? I doubt she’d take the role.
I have an idea…GH…how ’bout Brytni Sarpy who played VALERIE?! They HAD a gorgeous mixed race actress who was on about ten times and just disappeared! She didn’t even have a secret WSB assignment; I’m guessing she was created by Nell’s invisible ink and she just vanished. Maybe Spinelli can bring her back to life with some of his magic now-you-see-me/now-you-don’t potion that he used on Nell’s note.
By the way, who’s her daddy?! (Aunt Stella’s ex love?)
Rebecca, yes, how about officer Spencer, who should have filled the PCPD void left by Nathan…but no, we needed another new face to support this regime’s force-fed version of GH, one that is unrecognizable to most of us! These people, TPTB, just don’t get it. The thread is a nice tease, “who would you suggest for the role?” …as if fan input is ever solicited or even welcomed. Who would you suggest for the next writing team and Executive Producer? Now that’s a thread worthy of discussion.
Yes, Brytni Sarpy!! Gorgeous, a Spencer, and with so much potentially interesting history to explore.
No brainer- the wonderful Mishael Morgan, just leaving Y&R and Hilary behind. Great actress and a true beauty. Not that I’m thrilled over adding more new characters when we rarely see Monica, Brad, Lucas, Mac & Felicia, Epiphany, Olivia. Not to mention the criminal loss of Laura.
You took the comment right out of my mouth, and you’re right – it’s a no brainer!
I thought so too; however, she has WAY too much talent for this show and the lackluster actors they keep hiring!
Yup, Soaphound…..not only is Mishael gorgeous….she’s gifted with that je ne sais quoi in-your-face-‘tude that only a superlative actress can dare to dream of possessing.
100% YES!!
Ms Morgan would be amazing with Curtis. Jordan still sounds like she’s reading and comes off as being completely confused all of the time. I just don’t buy her as a police commissioner.
Curtis is so sexy, Harry….sooo lost on Jordan.
Yes, sir….Mishael and “Curtis” would combust!!
Renee Elise Goldman
Hi Linda; Her last names is Goldsberry and she and Michael Easton seem to adore each other; I’m sure they would love to share a screen again. However, I doubt she would go back to a soap so soon (if at all) after her success in HAMILTON.
but more so her OLTL sister Tika Sumpter !
Great choice! Loved her on OLTL!
Frank stop
It please
Amen, k/kay….this is like a sickness….compulsive newbie shopping!!!
I feel so sorry for this soap I really do
o0ohhh dear!
I hope she’s nothing like boring no persona, Jordon.
The Jordan character is wallpaper, hoping the new actresses character is at the least intriguing and interesting .
Mishael Morgan
General Newbies or Newbie Hospital-GHs new title…
Meanwhile i hope Peter escapes…he runs to the police but a squad car runs over Parking Lot Peter right in the parking lot-lol
Jimh, I like Peter,so no worries. The PCPD probably couldn’t hit a moving object, if they tried!
So sadly true, Violet. They either miss the entire plot or they just rotate arresting Jason, Drew (as Jason) or Franco. Not exactly out-of-the-box thinkers. Maybe wonderful Chase can inject some life into this beleaguered squad. He sure injects new life into me!
LOL!
There goes that humor I love so much, Jimmy. Peter meets his fate where he was discovered. Ha!!
I must admit that was tres clever, Jimh! Hahahah…BUT! Non, non, non! I love Peter! Besides, he’ll the the boogie woogie bugle boy with him and they wouldn’t dare give chase (Chase? no pun intended!) if he’s travelin’ with a boy scout!
Not sure of the actresses name, but she played Sasha on B&B she was Julius illegitimate daughter and 1/2 sister to Maya & Nichole
Yes, Karen. If this is going to be the gal I think that old Auntie is sending for, to break up Curtis and Jordan, then she’d be great for the part. I remember how good she was luring Zende away from Nicolle.
I’ll take over bloated casts for $2000, Alex.
hahahahahhaa!
Hopefully its a recast of Jordan. If not, NO THANK YOU, I want my old GH back!
Yes, that would be a blessed thing……as I’ve never warmed to that particular character and a recast would be far more preferable than yet another addition to the cast…it doesn’t even feel like we’re in Port Charles anymore with all the newbies taking over the town! At any rate, how are you, Timmmbo? You’ve been missed here, even though I understand why you’ve been scarce as of late….too much unnecessary rudeness from the usual suspects!
I so agree with you Shayster. I was watching on Monday and you had scenes with Chase and Finn, Lisel Peter, Nina and some little scout dude? Thanks Frank!
I am well. Not much has twisted my shorts here lately! Plus, like you stated, whatever you say here turns into negativity and I am burnt out from all the whining and bitching in the great old USA! GH & Y&R are so bad I dont know where to start! I watch them but see them drifting into the next cooking show or judge show!
Hope you are having a fun summer and making your life great again!
I’d vote for Tessa Thompson, she was recently in Thor: Ragnarock. She’s beautiful, tough, smart and can be quite funny too.
Mishael Morgan or Felisha Cooper.
Duh, Mishael Morgan
I don’t think it is for Jordan. Remember that Aunt Stella called come old girlfriend of Curtis’ after Curtis and Jordan announced their wedding plans to her at the Metro Court. I think the character description is for that person.
ooh! good thought!
Mishael Morgan
