General Hospital Casts All My Children Alum Alexa Havins as the New Lulu Spencer

The search is over and General Hospital has found their Lulu. While many names were being bantered about as to who will play the pivotal role of Luke and Laura’s daughter, it was revealed on Tuesday, first by Daytime Confidential and then confirmed by TV Line, that none other than All My Children favorite, Alexa Havins (ex-Babe Carey Chandler) will be the actress waking up out of Lulu’s four-year coma!

The soap world has been on pins and needles to see just who would play Lulu, once it was also revealed that her last portrayer, Emme Rylan (2013-2000) would not be returning. In addition, many fans also hoped that Julie Berman (2005-2013) might return to her signature role, but from our sources, Berman was approached, but passed as she was not pursuing many acting roles at this juncture in her life.

Then, there was three-time Daytime Emmy winner, Jen Landon, (ex-Gwen), who many felt was about to be named the new Lulu, only that also was not meant to be. Other rumors had former DAYS star, Marci Miller (ex-Abigail) in the running.

As for Havins, daytime fans remember her first on the soap scene back in 2003-2007 when Babe came to Pine Valley and was a love interest for Jacob Young’s JR Chandler who also happened to play Lucky Spencer on GH at one time in his career. In real-life, Alexa is still married to Justin Bruening (ex-Jamie) who she met while working at AMC. The couple have been married since 2005.

Look for Alexa to make her first appearance as Lulu this fall. Now with Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) hopefully soon on his way back to Port Charles, along with his mother Laura (Genie Francis), who is searching for him in Africa, will they get back in time to Port Charles to help save Lulu who needs a liver transplant?

As for Havins, she also appeared on One Life to Live and on primetime series including: CastleCSI: Miami and Grey’s Anatomy.

Alexa Havins is fantastic and will bring the grittiness some were missing in Lulu. Best casting decision since they hired the intense, smoking hot, solid Adam J. Harrington to be a worthy adversary to Sonny. Let’s hope the writers don’t mess this up like they did with him.

That’s a matter of opinion. I think Jagger was a POS that they got rid of, sooner than later!

GREAT CHOICE

I Agree!

This is a shocker and exactly what GH NEEDSSSSSSSSSSSS

Alexa is about to BRING IT
The Lulu REBIRTH IS ONNNNNNN

FRANK DID HIS BIG ONE ON THISSSSSSS

I’m glad people here are saying such good things about her and are agreeing with the choice. I am not familiar with her and look forward to seeing what she brings to the show.

Alexa will do what Emme didn’t, which was to make Lulu A STRONG SPITFIRE.

Emme’s Lulu was weak and slowly became a background character

Alexa [with a good writing team] should bring Lulu back to her glory days while maturing the character to the next level.

Alexa’s chemistry with Dominic Zamprogna, Genie Francis, Johnathan Jackson and Jane Elliott will either make or break her tenure.

She has HUGE SHOES TO FILL & She will fill them WELL!!!!!!

Gee, let’s hope that Carly doesn’t lend her any of HER shoes, for obvious reasons.

AMC never aired down here in Hell, so I’m not familiar with her work. Hoping for the best, as the Devil has been “Team Spencers” since 1978.

One upside of this is the fact that Frank Valentini seems to love hiring actors from AMC the last few years, but he only seems to keep one or two around at a time. So hopefully this also means they will toss the useless Natalia overboard as soon as Lulu wakes up from Veggieland?

That is great news

I love this she is going to be a great lulu they picked the right person for the job

Marci Miller was THE prime choice for Lulu.

Yes, Marci was THE prime choice! Several months ago, I called out for Marci Miller take on the role of Lulu. She would have been the perfect choice. Marci looks like Tony Geary look-wise, so she would definitely have passed in regards to have similarities of Genie and Tony, and Marci has superb talent to bring out Julie’s Lulu, the spitfire and a layered mature take on Lulu. For me Emme failed playing Lulu as she lacked the spitfire-ness of Lulu. She never won me over, never. I am glad GH decided to finally recast the coveted role. Back to Marci, the only potential problem that could have been weird was Marci Miller and Kate Mansi vying for screen time. We all know that Lulu will have a lot more screen time than Kristina. And, I’m sure the actresses respect one another – but it could have been weird? Not sure… we’ll never know, unless Alexa Havins doesn’t work out… but I am hoping she does work. I don’t know her body of work, but I trust she will be much better than Emme. Emme was a dismal failure. Welcome, Alexa! In the meantime, hopefully, Marci will return to Days of Our Lives as Abigail.

I loved her on AMC and once she’s up and running, she’ll run right into Deception with her bestie Maxi ,and run that pain in the butt, Natalia right on back to where she came from, but hopefully we won’t have her son to contend with now with too many ladies in waiting!

ABC Announces ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Texas Spin-Off Gets Straight-to-Series Order

Published

By

In a surprise move, coming a week after ABC unveiled its 2026-2027 fall television schedule, Grey’s Anatomy is getting a new spinoff co-created by the original series’ creator/executive producer Shonda Rhimes.

The new untitled medical drama will be written and executive produced by Rhimes and Grey’s Anatomy showrunner/executive producer Meg Marinis under the Shondaland and 20th Television umbrella. In addition, long-running ‘Grey’s’ star Ellen Pompeo will also serve as an EP of the spinoff.

The upcoming new series will debut midseason in 2027. This will be the first of Grey’s franchise not set in urban city or West Coast locale. According to Deadline, the new “edgy drama is about a team at a rural West Texas medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.”

In a statement, Marinis shared, “I am incredibly excited to expand the Grey’s Anatomy universe. This opportunity will bring new characters and stories to life that will embody the same heart, emotion and connection audiences have loved from Grey’s for more than two decades — all set in my home state of Texas. I am so grateful to Shonda Rhimes for creating this dynamic world and feel so fortunate that I get to be a part of it.”

A NEW GROUP OF DOCTORS IN RURAL TEXAS

The Texas spinoff will feature a a new group of doctors, but there will be some connection to the OG Grey’s Anatomy and possibly to Debbie Allen’s character of Catherine Fox. The amount of episodes in the series order has not yet been determined. Previous Grey’s Anatomy spinoffs were the defunct Station 19 and Private Practice.

Previously, Grey’s Anatomy was renewed for its upcoming 23rd season while the amount of episodes is unclear.  The last two seasons the series produced 18 episodes.

It should also be noted, Grey’s Anatomy and the Texas spinoff would likely share a time period, which requires limited-run orders for both with Grey’s premiering in the fall, followed by the spinoff on the midseason programming block.

So, what do you think about a Texas spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy coming in 2027? Who would you like to see from daytime or primetime as some of the featured roles as new doctors? Put on your casting directors hat and let us know via the comment section below.
