General Hospital Casts Knots Landing Favorite Donna Mills As New Character!

Courtesy/BeverlyHillsLifestyle
What an awesome casting bombshell today from General Hospital! The ABC soap opera, who has had big names and blast from the pasts during their 50th anniversary season run, is adding none other than Knots Landing favorite, Donna Mills to the cast in new and big role, according to EW.com!
Mills, one of our all-time favorites, who played the cul-de-sac homewrecker Abby Fairgate on the hit CBS primetime series Knots Landing is said to be headed to GH in February. Apparently, Mills was the only choice to play this new role because the writing team headed by Ron Carlivati are major fans of “Knots”!
This would mark an amazing return to daytime soaps were Mills got her start. She was known for her role as Laura Donnelly on Love is a Many Splendored Thing and played the sister of her new GH cast mate, Leslie Charleson (Monica) on the show!
So what do you think of Donna Mills coming to General Hospital? What role do you think she will play? Let us know!

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Who is Hudson in Cahoots With After Revealing Phone Call?

The mysterious Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel) is clearly in collusion with someone as witnessed on the Tuesday, August 24 episode of General Hospital.
Since Troy Lennon Appel made his debut on the soap on July 30, we already know he “appears” to be the true biological father of baby Phoebe, and is quite the bad dude after roughing up Ethan in Norway.
Now in Port Charles, claiming he is there for JJE (Jasper Jacks Enterprises) business, and with the edict to contact Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and let her know her father named her the CEO of his company while he is “sailing” abroad, he was initially met with resistance when Josslyn refused to accept the job.

I’VE CHANGED MY MIND
However, after a recent turn of events, where Brennan (Chris McKenna) told Josslyn, the WSB has her next assignment, and it is to find out what’s going on with her father’s company, they demanded her to accept the CEO position. Now Josslyn is caught and has to back-petal after initially telling Hudson to bring her qualified candidates and she would pick one as her replacement.
In all-new episodes, while at the Quartermaine boathouse, Josslyn informed Hudson that she was now taking the CEO position. Josslyn cited that she realized she wanted to honor her father’s wishes and uphold his legacy.
Hudson is stunned and tries to dissuade her, and is quite suspicious over her sudden change of heart. Realizing no matter what he said Josslyn was not backing down, Hudson says he hadn’t been on board with Jax’s decision to give the company to Josslyn, but now he could see that maybe he’d been wrong about her.
HUDSON HAS A PROBLEM
Josslyn says failing herself, or her father, isn’t an option and when she commits to something she goes all in. She tells Hudson that she would appreciate his support. Hudson says she has it, as she turns to walk away after dropping her bombshell decision on him.
Next, a very pissed off Hudson, picks up his phone and makes a call to someone and tells them that Josslyn took the job. He intimates that this is bad news and will screw up their plans. He tells the person on the other end that he is going to make her change her mind!
So, where is this leading? Who could Hudson be working with on the inside and who did he call? How do you see General Hospital weaving in Josslyn taking over JJE as their new WSB mystery story? Put your creative hats on and let us know your thoughts via the comment section.
But first, check out the GH teaser below for today’s Wednesday, August 26 episode below, where Josslyn tells her mother, Carly to accept her decision of either taking the job at JJE or staying with the WSB!

‘General Hospital’s’ Josh Swickard Recalls Emotional Moment After His Final Scenes with Michael Easton, and Favorite ‘Chase’ Storyline

Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase, General Hospital) is the special guest on this week’s all-new episode of Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart. The GH fan favorite and leading men opened up about his life pre and post GH, his marriage to actress and producer, Lauren Swickard, and some of his toughest and most memorable moments during his eight-plus years as officer Chase of the PCPD.
One of the most heartbreaking moments came when Josh had to say farewell to his on-screen brother Finn played by soap veteran, Michael Easton. It was back on the Thursday, June 27, 2024 episode of General Hospital.
In it, Chase drives Finn to a rehab facility and the two brothers share a heartfelt talk in the car. Finn thanks Chase for allowing him to say goodbye to his daughter, Violet (Jophielle Love). Chase promises to take good care of her. However, Chase warns Finn to not to take any shortcuts on his way to sobriety and to always think of Violet’s wellbeing. It is apparent, the brothers don’t want to say goodbye, but on the count of three, Finn leaves Chase’s car and walks through the door of the rehab facility, while Chase in tears beats the steering wheel before drives away.

MISSING HIS TV BROTHER
Josh spoke to the “Soapy” podcast hosts about it and recalled, “In our last scenes together, and it was like his last day. Michael was like, ‘It’s okay.’ And I was like, ‘No, it’s not.’ I was supposed to be crying in the scene, I think. I was like a little glassy-eyed, a little glazed over. And then they were like, “And cut.” I was like, “Great.” I just like went behind the car and wept.”
Speaking of his professional and personal relationship with Easton, Josh expressed, “Michael is an awesome guy. He’s such a sweetheart. We’ve done fan events together in New York and he would show me things, like, ‘This where I used to live …’ He’s like an older brother to me.”
Not only did Josh lose his on-screen brother, but he also lost his on-screen father, Gregory, played by Gregory Harrison, when he was killed-off the show after the character battled ALS. “I think I was more just mourning friends that play family on a show, but a show that goes year after year, year round, and so they become family,” explained Swickard. “So, that part’s been hard for me of just losing friends that while, yes, you get to see each other, you get to call each other, it’s different (when they leave).”

CHASE IN A COMA IS FAVORITE OF JOSH’S
When asked, what has been his favorite storyline during his run on GH thus far, Josh took it back to when Chase became became critically ill after being poisoned by a toxic from Peter August (Wes Ramsey) meant for Finn. Eventually, Finn had to rescue his brother with the antidote for the toxin. That story played out from April to June 2021.
Josh explained, “Where I was in a coma and I was seizing and coughing and I had no blocking for like four months! It was great! It was a storyline where I was about to die and I had to say goodbye to a lot of lovely people and it was so exhausting. You get in the car and you feel like you got hit by a train every day because your body doesn’t fully know what acting is, apparently. I remember multiple days being like, ‘Oh, this is why I signed up for this.'”
Swickard also answered if there were moments in the storyline if he felt Chase was not going to survive. The GH star answered, “There were moments that I wondered. However, I think they were pretty upfront with me. They were like, ‘This isn’t what’s going to happen.'”

This week, all-new episodes of General Hospital tease a long-held secret revealed, a surprise cellmate and a life on the line. While Drew tells Ava his agenda, we cut to: a woman’s hands pouring a packet full of powder into a drink at the Metro Court pool area.
Drew gives Ava her assignment, “I need you to keep Brennan busy while I search his hotel room.” The question becomes, who is the woman who is drugging Brennan? Is this the first attempt at taking out the guy foreshadowing the future, or could this be the demise of Brennan?
YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU MIGHT SEE IN THE SLAMMER
At the end of the video, Curtis (Donnell Turner) is seen in his cell at Pentonville. He gets what appears to be his new cellmate, and utters, “You?” Is this when Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) has manipulated someone from the inside to visit Curtis and begin a plan to get what he wants from Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and use her lover to do his dirty work? Stay tuned.

She is awesome!!
One of the things I love the most about GH;
It is always moving onto something new and exciting..
GH does not stand still with the same old, it grows, and gives new excitement!!
Love the variety of actors, old and new, and the new and exciting story they bring with them..
Never a dull moment..
GH gathers no moss.. 🙂
I love Donna Mills! I wonder if she’s going to be as conniving as she was on Knots Landing! Never the less, she is a great actress no matter who she plays.
This woman has been off our TV screens for almost 25 years.
THAT SHOULD BE A CRIME!
I am thrilled with the news that Donna Mills is coming to G.H.!!! 🙂 She is a fantastic actress and I loved her on Knots Landing. 🙂 I can’t wait to see her!!! 🙂 Where has she been all these years since Knots ended?
Fantastic News! Can’t wait!
omg i have no idea, this is great though, would love to see her in scenes with leslie charleson and jane elliot, and the rest of GH stellar cast, the possibilities are endless. hope this is not a one day guest spot.
Its supposed to be longer?
WOOHOO YEA!!! LOVE DONNA MILLS!!! WHOEVER SHE PLAYS WILL BE GREAT!! SHE WAS SOOOO GOOD IN KNOTS LANDING!! CAN’T WAIT!! : )
I never watched Knott’s Landing since I was a kid when it was on, but the famous cul de sac is five minutes from my house. It should be interesting to see what she’s going to play.
Either written into Jerome storyline or the lost Quartermaine! In any case Bravo!!!
I think it’s wonderful ,she’s been off screen too long……it doesn’t matter who she plays, she’s so talented and beautiful. Maybe a Jerome? Looking forward………please keep us posted!
Ava’s mother?
Delia Ryan was revealed to be Ava’s mom when they brought Ilene Kristen on a little while back.
They already showed Ava’s mother…Dee from Ryans Hope!
Thanks! I missed Delia’s return. Is Ava’s dad a RH character? I hope Donna Mills character and Ava share scenes together.
Her father is Victor Jerome…a GH character…Ava and Julian share the same father but not the same mother…and your welcome!
Her father was Victor Jerome, a gh character. Ava and Julian shared the same father but different mothers…and your welcome!
Donna Mills on GH…HELL TO THE YEAH!!!!! GH really and truly STRUCK GOLD this time!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huge fan of hers!!! Love it!!! Can’t wait!!!
I bet she is going to be Julians other sister, he mentioned having a “crazy mean” sister on Fridays episode..
That was Olivia Jerome. She started out as a whack job in the 1908’s, but then was kind of redeemed when her and Felicia’s cousin Colton fell in love. But she died. Well, on GH, no one dies. I don’t think she could play Olivia…she’s about 15 years too old. But you never know. She could be Julian’s mother. Or she could be a Cassadine with the impending arrival of Thaao Penghlis as Victor. I don’t know…sometimes stunt casting works and other times it just comes off as a cheap stunt. GH has an exceedingly bloated cast already and we don’t get enough of the vets that we WANT to sss. So I don’t know how bringing in more big names is going to enhance the show. And Mills will no doubt be a baddie…this show already is chock full of psychos, mobsters, murderers, evil people, etc. They could easily do a spin-off set on Cassadine Island or Ferncliff where the baddies run amok.
1980’s….not 1908’s. lol. Sorry.
Julian’s other sister was Olivia Jerome (not to be confused with Olivia Falconeri) who Julian ended up murdering when she crossed him by trying to tell Anna what had happened to Duke.
It was Ava Jerome that killed Olivia Falconeri, not Julian…. initials in the blood were A J..and if you missed it, Ava burned the evidence in a barrel down on the pier.
Sorry that was Connie that was killed, Olivia is still alive.
I haven’t missed an episode in two years! It has not been confirmed that Ava killed Connie yet, but I’m sure that’s where we’re headed.
Could she be mother of Nina and her Nathan?
Ooooo…that’s a great suggestion! The Nathan-Nina connection bothers me though. Why wouldn’t Silas know his own brother-in-law, or recognize the name? Nathan can’t be younger than Kiki, if he’s indeed related to Nina. So, Silas would have surely met him prior to NIna being in a coma.
Love her! This is great news!
Very excited about this and can’t wait to see who she plays!!!
Wow! Good news!
Cassandra Cassadine?? Nina’s mom??? Is Nina a cassadine??? ;000
Maybe Ninas father will turn out to be Victor Cassidine(since he is returning) and Donna is his wife…id like that!!!
I would like that too– nice way to tie the character Silias to the show’s history– and if his wife Nina is a Cassidine– then Sam would be somewhat related to her too– so that would be an added wrinkle in that romance.
One thing makes me think that Nina was not a Cassadine– if Victor was her father and he thought that Silas harmed her, Silas would be long dead.
I heard a rumor, she will be a cassadine. Helena’s sister? I love donna millls, great casting, wonderful actress. I will be watching, I hope we have scenes with tracy quartermaine and donna mills character, that would be delicious. jane eliott and donna mills having scenes together , would make my day, much better. now cast michelle lee e x karen knots landing on gh too.
Victor Cassidine is returning so maybe Donna is his wife Abby Cassidine and they are Ninas parents? Donna has worked with Leslie(Monica) before so it would be nice if they did some scenes together!
Maybe she’ll play Silas’s wealthy manipulative mother-in-law…what id like is that she turns out to be Monicas estranged sister who hasnt spoken to Monica in years because Monica had married Jeff Webber whom Monicas sister was in love with.( Donna and Leslie played sisters on Love Is A Many Splendored Thing and was in a triangle on that show) Also, if they could get John Stamos back as Blackie Parrish…they could reveal him as the son of Donna’s character and Jeff Webber…she gave him up for adoption when Monica married Jeff…later Donna married Ninas father, a widower, never revealing she had a son from a previous relationship. Meanwhile, there would be suspicion that Nina’s stepmother was the one who gave Nina those pills in an attempt to kill Nina so she could solely inherit the estate of Nina’s late father who has passed away!(unless he is still alive then maybe they could get William Devane to play the part!) just an idea!
Maybe a Cassidine like some fans said…Abby Cassidine, wife of Victor and mother of Nina but she could still have the subplot like ive written just to have her in scenes with Leslie(Monica). Maybe she can pull an Ava and have a fling with Julian? This sure would tie her in to many characters on the show!!!
I could totally see her being the head of the Jerome crime family the woman plays vixen so well and she still is a knockout to look at. Make it happen RC and have her totally ruthless let’s get off this cartoon stuff.
I will also add I have given up on them ever writing for Liz/RH so if they are going to add newbies at least they picked a super star who can act!
I believe Liz will be paired with Nik once he finds out the truth about Britts son Ben is really Lulus son which makes him Niks nephew…i feel that after watching Nik and Liz in scenes the other day…soon they will be team Lik!!! i think?
WOW! Awesome news! Go go go GH!
Would love for her to be Ava Jerome’s mother at first thought. I do hope whoever Miss Mills portrays, this will be an integral character and one that will remain on canvass more than one or two days.
WOW! She is one of the best and GH is so lucky to get her. I just can’t even imagine who she will be playing! Last time I saw her she was on ABC’s Good Christian Bitches! Welcome back to ABC Donna Mills!
My money is on La Mills playing Nina Clay’s mother! I don’t care if she plays a maid, I will watch every scene religiously!
Aria, every article I read makes it sound like it is more than just a one day guest appearance. I still want to see a Knots Landing reboot. Knots, after all was the best Primetime soap IMO! That being said, this is exciting news. I get the feeling she may be playing Silas’ mother-in-law! Not that I would want to lose Ron from GH, but if he wanted to Moonlight and write a Knots Landing reboot that would be awesome!
The best…absolutely! So why did they stop releasing DVDS of it after the second season?
would like her to return as well as Abby and why not on Dallas third season, she could save the show since it is going to be hard for the show to survive without Larry Hagman
it’s said… in season 3… that the incandescent… Ms. Sue Ellen… is imbibing… in spirits….
what a blow… if you will… to see Donna Mills.. turn up
and these two stalwarts… go head to head… toe to toe… and show us what Sue Ellen is all about
I love you Linda Gray
So true, Patrick! Linda Gray’s timeless “Sue Ellen” ranks right up there with the late Larry Hagman as one of Dallas’ most iconic characters, not to mention she looks absolutely amazing and has always been the most elegant alcoholic to ever grace our small screens…no small feat there! But yes, Donna Mills also definitely belongs in the Lone Star State now that JR is no more! However, she should be a most interesting addition to the GH canvas….since no one really fulfills that rich b*+@# role in Helena’s absence. And speaking of, I am wondering if Morgan Fairchild is also being considered for a future Port Charles appearance???? Perhaps she’s no longer as big a marquee name as Mills, but still one of the ’80’s best shady ladies and femme fatales, no less.
I think it is great. Would love to see Donna Mills’ chatacter square off with Gwyneth Alden! What an explosive time that would be.
Are you in a time warp? LOL. Gwyneth Alden was on Loving, murdered her family, then killed herself. 19 years ago.
Ha. Funny, Johnny!
This has made my day to have Donna Mills back again.. Thank Thank you GH!!
Awesome!!!
Could this be Avas mother?
Love her can’t wait!!!!
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Always liked Donna Mills. Watched her on Knots Landing… She is so pretty and a good actress … Whatever role she plays it will be good! Nice or not so nice (DIVA)!!!! Should be very interesting!
I was a huge Knots Landing fan, loved Donna Mills and think the world of what Carlivati and team are writing for GH. This is great news all around.
good job gh, for hiring donna mills. i hope her character is a hit, then sign donna mills, to a contract. loved abby on knots landing. donna is a great actress, and still beautiful at 73 years old. she is sassy classy and hip. also theres more suprises, i heard a big rumor more casting new characters in the spring and summer. also i heard emily quartermaine and alan are indeed alive. they will be back in the summer. I hope this is true.
I didn’t belieeve you.. and had to google her…
she is in fact 73…
doesn’t that smart
what an enigmatic presence… sexy, tough, cat of nine lives… Abby lived all our dreams
she casholad, got her man… and savored… her treats… the audience loved it
Give me a friggin break!! Too many returns from the dead. Is this GH or True Blood?
WOW, just, WOW.
Wooo hoooo GH dont forget about Joan Collins!!
I loved her on Guiding Light! She brought such pizzazz and energy to the show during her short run there! Donna will do the same. It is awesome that so many actors from over the top 80’s primetime soaps have found a welcoming home in daytime. They are good actors who still want and need to work and good for daytime for offering it.
I am probably the only poster here old enough to remember her on “The Secret Storm” playing a go-go girl named “Rocket.”
I remember the Secret Storm, the way it came on was so neat with the stormy waves. I don’t remember specifics about the show but I sure remember Donna on Love is Many Splendored Thing-she played Laura- & Mark (David Birney) was her husband or maybe boyfriend. Was she a nun on there at one time? Leslie Charleson was Iris her sister married to Spencer Garrison & Iris ended up in plane crash, blinded I think (on a Friday of course-I rem. freaking out with Mama, ha. I was only7 or 8 when this was on-really too young to be watching soaps but I sure grew up on them! What memories. LOVE MY SOAPS! Can’t wait for Donna Mills!
Love Donna Mills. Loved Knots Landing. But I thought GH had such a tight budget? And they are already bloated with actors who barely get screen time.
I agree with you..I love Donna Mills also, but why not more of Monica or Tracy or Bobbie or just about any other actor who gets less and less screen time..Its more new character and less of the ones the fans want to see..That said, I really love Ms Mills and I cannot wait to see her in GH.
I always like Donna Mills on Knots Landing. Her looks have evolved throughout many years, albeit with the help of great surgeons or whatever , but she still looks great and like herself. Love her piercing blue or blue/green eyes. First time I remember seeing her was in a great cult film called “Play Misty For Me” from 1971 in which she played Clint Eastwood’s girlfriend. I don’t think Donna would appear on GH unless she is playing a ” scheming, manipulative vixen” a la Abby Cunningham (her character on Knots) because she threatened to leave Knots when they were writing her character as to soft. I know many GH fans love Maura West, but I am not one of them. I can’t wait to see what happens if Donna and Maura have to be in the same scenes. My guess is that a lot of scenery will be chewed up and dumped in the drink along with Jason and some others. My bet is that Donna will become GH’s tour de force and watch out if anyone tries to steal some of her spotlight.
Im hoping she is a Cassadine. Perhaps they are resurecting the cassadine family by introducing characters that revolve aroubd Victor. Donna coukd be a new Helena!
Ron and Frank ARE Soap Opera fans and this is another great move. Gh should get some press off this move. She is night time soap royalty and it is cool to see her on GH. Hope she gets a juicy role and gets to play off of Ava.
I hope this means some actors will be off canvass, at least for awhile…like Rafe, TJ, Molly. All three need to go, and I think Dante, Olivia and Kiki need to all die. Honestly, Sonny can leave the show to be with Brenda because I’m not interested in his character anymore and that’s a shame.
I love her! Loved Knotts! She’d be great as a Cassadine too!
This is simply fantastic. Donna Mills is perfect for GH. Her role on Knots is a stand-out role to this very day. She had lines on Knots I will always remember! As for GH, it is a PERFECT fit–a wonderful show and an A-1 actress. GH is truly amazing. It is so much fun, both dramatically and humorously. Kudos to Robin Mattson; her portrayal of Heather is just too funny. Even my husband enjoys watching her! Finally in this era of trashy and ridiculous reality shows, it is exciting to see GH become so relevant in television ratings. Donna Mills will be the icing on the cake. She looks perfect to be a Jerome…..or a Quartermaine. She is pure gold. Can’t wait!!
Here’s a crazy theory– what if Donna Mills is Nina Clay? Maybe she was a wealthy older woman, Silas was her boy toy and she was always jealous of younger women and threatening to do something terrible. Silas and Ava have an affair, Nina finds out and it pushes her over the edge. Just a theory.
LOVE HER!
I am SO excited! I love Donna Mills! Loved her as Abby on Knots. Such a beautiful and talented actress! Silas’ wife Nina? Olivia Jermone? She’d be great to go up against Maura West as Ava Jerome!
Would love to see Donna Mills show Ava how it is done on playing the bad girl.
Nina
I saw a couple of ep’s of GH years back, not a big daytime fan. Just came across this while googling Donna Mills. How do I see this in Australia. Is the show released on DVD? Is it on Aussie TV? I need to start watching this, to see Donna. Thanks for your help 🙂
