GENERAL HOSPITAL: Emma Runs To The Loving Arms Of Robin!

It was a “Frank and Ron Special” on Monday’s episode of General Hospital!  And for those fans of both One Life to Live and General Hospital, who have followed the plotting and execution of major payoff points in storylines under these two creative gentlemen, you know what we are talking about!

While many GH viewers sat with angst for the first 55 minutes of yesterday’s important episode, questioning why on earth would Robin (Kimberly McCullough) literally sit by and watch her husband marry another woman, and not stop the wedding earlier in the episode … well, then it would not have been a “Frank and Ron Special”, now would it!

And looking back at it, with having Robin standing at the doorway to the church watching the whole ceremony go down, the viewers experienced her heartbreak every single moment, and even moments of joy, when she Robin saw Mac (John J. York)  for the first time from afar, reading a verse in honor of Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) and Patrick’s (Jason Thompson) pending union.

There were some truly unforgettable performances and moments in Monday’s episode!  And tops among them, when  little Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) sees her mother, Robin before anyone else knew she was hovering in the church.  Emma breaks free of being held back by Sabrina and Patrick’s joined hands at the altar, and it played to the audience in slow-motion for maximum effect!  Next, Emma runs into the loving arms of her mother.  The brilliance of this: Valentini and Carlivati took two generation of Scorpio women and mirrored the past and the present… little Robin running into the arms of Anna decades ago, and now Emma running into Robin’s loving arms.  Kimberly McCullough and Brooklyn Rae Silzer were truly breathtaking in that scene, and for many across America tuning-in, it was certainly a five-hankie moment and most would agree, well worth the wait!

Other notable moments came from Jason Thompson as Patrick, who played the beat of  doubt and conflict before saying the words, “I do” to a loving Sabrina.   In addition, Sonya Eddy, who as Epiphany performed the song that brought Patrick and Sabrina together with Emma as a new “family unit of the future “during the Nurses Ball, “You’re Not Alone”, provided another emotional wallop as Sabrina and Patrick lit candles signifying their union.  Eddy knocked this song out of the ballpark!

But the performances and drama was not all going down in the church!  For it was Finola Hughes as Anna Devane rationalizing to Robert (Tristan Rogers) why they need to kill a captured Faison (Anders Hove) at Wyndemere once and for all that was truly spectacular.  The anger, hurt, frustration, and years of torture on her and her family by this evil madman, just became too unbearable for her!  She enlists Robert to please join with her to get rid of Faison on this earth!  The question is, did the duo really kill him or not?  Whatever they did, the viewers did not see it on camera!

And Kelly Thiebaud (Britt) also delivered some emotional moments as a conflicted Britt almost came forward and told Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) the truth, that her baby’s father is not Brad, but changed her mind.  She is once again harboring a huge secret which will eventually wreak havoc on her new relationship.  Britt, in tears, is also struck by Nikolas’ kindness and affection towards her when she knows she doesn’t deserve it.  Later, when she tries to lay down next to Nikolas, she is awaken suddenly.  Did she feel Faison (her father) had just been killed in the most eerie way?

So, we ask you, what did you think of yesterday’s episode?  Did the scene where Emma finally sees Robin again live up to your expectations and more? Did Kimberly McCullough and Brooklyn Rae Silzer pull at your heartstrings?  Were you throwing things at the TV wanting Robin to walk in earlier and bust up the wedding?  Were you moved by Sonya Eddy, Robin seeing Mac for the first time, and Finola Hughes’ performance in yesterday’s episode?  Weigh-in as this huge story continues today!

I watched the Robin/Emma scene five times and cried every time. While I wanted Robin to walk in one minute into the show, it was worth the wait.

Any show that leaves you wanting more is the best. It was all so good, but I think the shows coming up with all the fallout of what has occurred will be even better. It was a true game changer. Can’t wait for more…..

The last two minutes had me, personally. As someone who lost a parent young, what I wouldn’t give to see them even one more time. And Emma’s reaction of just seeing someone from the back and KNOWING it’s her mother, was so amazing. I’m happy mother and daughter are reunited.

However, I do hope Patrick picks Sabrina. I want Robin to move on and find someone else. Something about her and Patrick has always been off to me. I cannot wait to see the outcome of this storyline. It’s been dragging for over a year.

I thought I was the only one who didn’t get what the big deal was about Robin and Patrick! Now I’m going to contradict myself though and say I want them back together.

I want the back together also. And not with Sabrina…

Gemma, you don’t get it. Sparkle Pony looks up to Patrick as a dewy eyed school girl looking at her teacher–it still seems like a school girl crush and it lacks maturity. There doesn’t seem to be a sense of mutual respect. And as Ferris Bueller says,”You can’t respect someone who kisses your a–.” It just doesn’t work that way. Even had Robin not come back, this marriage was doomed to fail.

NO! Patrick was so much better with Robin–he respected her and she constantly challenged him. Sparkle Pony is insipid, silly and idolizes Patrick as if he were a prince from a fair tale. Those two just have no chemistry and it doesn’t help that the actress who plays Sparkle Pony is just HORRIBLE!

What’s up with this challenged thing? Why would a grown man always needs to be challenged? He is not remedial…whatever. It’s like they say, an opinion is just like an a**hole, everyone has one. I personally love TeCa, the actress who plays Sabrina.

‘Sparkle Pony’ is hilarious. I’m sure the actress is a nice person :). Robin and Patrick together is just so awesome. Agreed that there is ZERO chemistry between SP and Patrick. For all the time Robin was gone, Patrick longed for her and at times thought she could still be alive in a true sole mate kind of way. I would be very disappointed in the writers if they didn’t have a magical reunion. I keep saying (okay, hoping) that their reunion takes over as ‘The Best Moment In Daytime History’ replacing Luke and Laura’s wedding (I was 3 years old, Robin is more my speed).

Disagree!

The nurse needs to move on since they gave her Robin’s life and tried to make her work. Patrick doesn’t love her and never did. it was all about everyone forcing him to move on saying Robin would want it. Robin and Patrick were never off and the reason they got a nighttime show about them. Kimberly and JT have a naturalness and chemistry you can’t copy and that was RC biggest mistake thinking this girl can take over for Robin. NEVER!

Scrubs is the outcome now and always.

I guess Patrick is remedial after all…allowing people to force him to move on even though he loves Robin so much. JT and KMc are about as natural as ten toes in a sock.

DITTO! Scrubs forever!

“…The last two minutes had me, personally. As someone who lost a parent young, what I wouldn’t give to see them even one more time.”

A heartfelt… can relate.

I lost one of mine… at the age of 15…. A part of me left with her.

I just can’t help but resonate and value… and love that relationship between parents and kids

Oh so beautiful, Patrick! Mothers are the greatest treasure in this world and whether living or departed, they forever occupy that special place in our hearts! This “Mama’s Girl” was also riveted by the Robin/Emma reunion scene, and those wonderful words, “Mommy’s here!”

Aw Scott. I’m with you so much of the time, but I guess our opinions had to diverge somewhere. There was no better couple than Robin and Patrick. They just had it, in every single fathomable way. I get the empathy for Sabrina, she is a pretty sad character after all (sorry, she just is to me). But make no mistake, Patrick will choose Robin. Ron has said so in a million interviews, this is the love story of Robin and Patrick. Some new sparkly chica won’t make any real impression in the long run.

Thank you Jules–well said.

Had myself convinced there was not going to be a reveal at the Church, so I was pleasantly surprised. It was very well done. BUT…let’s get real….Sonja Eddy was obviously lip syncing to a pre recorded track, Lucys presiding over the nuptials was annoying and Sabrina explaining her life story as her vows was stupid. That tired format of “I’ve got something to tell you” prior to commercial, as Britt did, and then coming back with a lame “cover story” made Nik look totally brain dead. And, cmon people, do you honestly believe Anna & Robert offed Faison? But, hey, anyone watching GH knows you’ve git to throw reality out the window and enjoy the cartoon.

Thank you–I thought Sanja was lip syncing too and not doing a very good job of it either. Sabrina’s speech was wince inducing. The girl seems too immature to get married as evidenced by the way she kept referring to Patrick as her Prince Charming and that she was living in a fairy tale. Awful speech delivered by an awful character and an even worse actress. Sparkle Pony has to go.

Harry….You are a man after my own heart!!! The horrible acting and hokey histrionics of “Sobby” just demonstrated yet again why she has to go….as if there should be any contest between Patrick’s real wife, and this pale imitation of a placeholder. She thought she had it made as Robin’s instant replacement, and it was sheer pleasure to see her find out otherwise!!!! Just the way Drake Jr. could barely choke out the words “I do,” should have been a clue to the insipid GBWB!!!! And little Emma’s priceless reaction to her mother’s return showed “Sappy” who was #1 with her affections. The nitwit nurse is now officially old news….put her out at the curb with yesterday’s trash and move on……

Thank you, jonboy, for putting it all in perspective. There was so much wrong with yesterday’s episode which was saved by the last few minutes.

This is why we call it Fiction, A soap opera, I think you were on the edge of your seat! I was yelling at the t.v lol.. Plus I was watching on dvr..lmao… could not fast forward 😉

sonja eddy is a terrific actress.

I absolutely agree! And I do not care if she was lip syncing or not. She has a beautiful voice.

I think Brit offed Faison. How fun would THAT be! I love GH but like to poke fun at the ‘soap-ness’ that it can have from now and again. You’re right about many points: Lucy, life story as a vow is not a vow. I would love to see what the writers could do putting Sparkle back with Carlos or a new character.

Sabrina needs to be with Carlos or someone else!

Shay, thank you for the levity–I needed that.

You’re most welcome, Harry! ; )

Pure Brilliance on every level !!! There are a few Emmy reels including Best Show in this episode and Finola is giving the performance of the year !!!

This show just gets better and better. It’s the first show I watch every night. Thank you for that beautiful moment in the church with Emma running toward her Mother.

Robert and Anna are even better in 2013. They have super couple written all over them. Such an intense, soul wrenching bond they have. Very special indeed. Their scenes are captivating. Sigh.

By “Frank and Ron special” I assume you mean the special way he likes to screw over non-OLTL and non-new newbie pets. Because there was no reason for that shit that RC wrote making Robin look like a pathetic fool.

THIS!

like i’ve posted…. the ship is still out on this one.

more than ever before… “i’m waiting the writing and executive producer mode to kick in”

I am waylayed… stumped… with… as to why… this reeled the way it has…

you have two powerful actors… KM and JT to give us the obvious… and LOVE

and… giving their child… sooner than not… parents… and parents who have all the tools for life….

why? but… these two are thee one couple on daytime… who share all their characters being

I’m trying to fanwank it and tell myself that he didn’t want Robin to do an un-Robin like thing. The character of Robin has been with us for almost 30 years, she was never one to make a spectacle of anything (unless it involved sharing a secret of Carly’s but I digress lol). Maybe they just wanted to keep what they felt was the integrity of the character in tact, while still finding a way to put an end to our misery and have the wedding be stopped. It was true suffering, I’m with you on that. But I’m trying, really trying, to give the benefit of the doubt.

“…she was never one to make a spectacle of anything (unless it involved sharing a secret of Carly’s but I digress lol).”

LOL… absolutely hilarious… AND, doesn’t that tramp Carly deserve a good dig… and/or cat fight… she doesn’t need every man… to want her….

I love the implications of what you said…. Ta-Da! it was Robin… who was loved by Jason…. sorry Carly!

LOL… Robin… be that as it may…. and I mean fan spectacle…

I am so endeared by her… and what is hers alone… and that’s to be a Drake… and a pivotal… beacon… with her mother Anna… for GH

I will always cheer for her… root for her… and applaud her inner strength and resolve…. she persevered.. throughout her whole… life….

her parents on the lam.. WSB…
raised by Big Mac… and I love him for that
contracting hiv… and her lover… her partner… dying…

and so on and so on… and i’ll continue to press how much this story means to me.

it gave so much meaning… to combating… hiv… with the right regiment… and living….

Robin is a stoic individual…. so, she’s not Carly… who purrs her hot kittens.
KM ran with her show… from the onset of her debut…. and like fans have said… 30 years later… it’s her presence… alone… and with Patrick and Emma… that she’s full of life… for what she attained… and fights for.

I don’t see her as the altruistic being… she’s vulnerable… capable… and fights her own battles… she loves her parents… and dang! isn’t it THEE BEST FAMILY… ON THE AIR… and that includes all the cast that’s attached to her family tree.

I don’t think by championing… why I love this story… that we end up repeating… why… but… it’s a current… 21st century love story… that means so much to this genre… that the ratings are through the roof…

Well, I am going to be the shallow one and say I wish they had dressed up Robin in some nice clothes before having her enter the church. That blouse was dreadful! Because as loathe as I am to admit it, Sparkle Pony looked beautiful and the dress was stunning, and I felt that set up Robin for a dis advantage. I felt so sorry for her as she watched her husband say those vows to the dewy eyed Sparkle Pony! At least they could have put her in a fetching dress as her heart broke.

It was pure genius! There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Emma went running into Robins arms yesterday. I too kept rewinding and replaying that scene over and over. And yes, the first thing I thought of was that scene where Robin goes running into Anna’s arms…perfect! Those of us loyal GH fans were wondering how this was going to play out and it was awesome! Bringing back the whole WSB spy days of Robert, Anna and Luke have been magic. And as we saw in the previews…who will survive the fall off of the GH heliport ? Heather did….will Luke and Jerry? For sure someone will end up paralyzed or on life support for awhile. Now, do we ever find out that Faison and Jerry kept Jason alive for some sick and twisted reason on Casadine Island? Stay tuned… I will!

Loved loved loved and still watching the amazing scene with Emma and Robin. Kimberly makes it look so easy and BL was sright there with her, I felt their joy and I still can cry thinking of it.

However,it is ridiculous at the thought that Patrick would pick anyone but Robin. They went through hell and back and nothing will keep them apart then and it certainly shouldn’t now.

Patrick does not love this girl and the fact that he was all about Robin and hesitated told me she is nothing more than a place holder or sloppy seconds. . Robin is his heart and soul and no woman can ever take her place.

They need to keep Kimberly and work with her schedule. Kimberly as Robin didnt need to utter a word just a look and her eyes convey more than any words. Some actresses she watch and see how it is done. Scrubs is and was always the story and they belong together. Scrubs and the viewers followed this couple for over six years and you cannot compare to this forced pairing of six months. I didn’t mind waiting until the end yesterday but Patrick having to choose is absolute nonsense. And the fact that the immature babysitting nurse tells him to choose is more insulting. Not everything is about her. ROBIN and PATRICK is the only outcome. Let the babysitter find her own man and family NOT Robin’s.

“…Kimberly as Robin didnt need to utter a word just a look and her eyes convey more than any words.”

ditto! OK… i’m losing it again.

and he with him… if you look at the other headline… feature… previews

with Dr. Patrick Drake… looking… an empty shell-shocked… lost love’r… he loves her.. he loves him not…

it’s OK… a treat… to see JT.. act.. how a man would act… lost without that centerpiece in his life… to fill his heart… and will… finally…rest, take comfort and love his family and return to his vibrant self…

You sound crazy as hell!!!

Well said, Cathy…especially the part about “sloppy seconds.” We have suffered through a year of this contrived couple of convenience, please don’t insult our sensibilities with a stupid ultimatum when there is really no contest at all. JT has served his jail sentence with the inane Disney-dusted “Sapperella” storyline, now Patrick should be set free to resume the family life he thought he had lost forever. In true soap fashion, it won’t be smooth sailing, and nobody expects it to be, but at least “Cartini” should respect the history of the Scorpio-Drakes and stop trying to equivocate the doctor’s superficial fling with the silly babysitter with the mature relationship he shared with his wife. They never were comparable, and even in Robin’s absence, that pathetic pairing should not have culminated with a trip to the altar.

Robert and Anna are amazing together and GH blew it letting TR slip away. They kept their OLTL people and should have gone all like they did for the OLTL people and made sure they
gave TR a contract. Robert Scorpio is GH not the Livers.

Completely agree…what was the real reason that TR was not on contract. I believe that he said that he had to go where the work is…GH apparently didn’t do anything…meanwhile…we had to sit through months of rehashing of stories for the OLTL 3.

I agree. Duke & Anna are nothing compared to Anna & Robert!

I am still bawling after yesterday’s GH !!! So good!

Well not thinking it would ever happen but did at the last moment; the Emma running into Robin’s arms was a tear-jerker for sure!
And then the Robert and Anna scenes; did they didn’t they kill Faison; and let us viewers speculate, was mind boggling.
Also, Britt; she had her chance to come clean with Nikolas while he still trusted her and not sure what stopped her but its not the first time she wanted to tell him about her baby? But, to us; the reveal of whose baby is it will be truly time to do it! And then; soon..we will see the reunions with Robin and other family..and can’t wait til she talks to Uncle Mac and goes to find Maxie,too..(whose been harboring this guilt for causing the explosion that supposedly killed Robin).
Great show and hope more to come in the following day!
GO GH!!

We all know Britt gave birth to Lulu and Dante’s baby. Put those poor yet adorable people out of their misery.

Loved, loved Emma’s scene it brought tears to my eyes. Wanting Robyn to stop the wedding….. no I like Sabrina and Patrick together much more. Faison …. well I hope he’s dead but I doubt it. Great job writers looking forward to todays show.
Cheers!

Like how Stavros fell into a bottom-less hole years ago, but he returned. Gotta love soaps!

I guess no one will be eating any wedding cake today…lol

So much for “Sobby’s” magic wedding dress….wasn’t so lucky after all, was it???? LOL….

i agree with you. lol.

I want Patrick and Robin together. Love the idea of a power couple in the hospital. Sabrina is a nice character but Robin is legacy. Patrick and Robin’s stories are not as dark or nasty as Alan and Monica’s but I would like to see a long-term couple again and this is the one.

I loved the Robin/Emma scene. Of course Sonja was lypsyncing. That’s how they do it on tv shows. It’s not live while they are filming.

Your right…thats how many shows do it…the singing is prerecorded to avoid flubs and added in during the editing process…saves on having to do costly retakes. Lypsyncing…is how theyve always done it!

What bothered me most about the lip syncing was how woefully mismatched the ambience of the recording was to the ambience of the church acoustics. That drove me nuts lol

Only part of yesterday’s show that I’m so over is stupid Jerry Jacks!! Wish he’d take that Lisa Rinna-lookalike and throw her over the wall.

Loved Emma running into Robin’s arms!!! Take that Sabrina!

Hahahha Lisa Rinna or hunter tylo loll

Right? Do Chipmunks really look better than aging gracefully?! 😉

Yeah take that Sabrina? You sound special. Trust me, it’s not going to be that easy for Patrick!

lol!!!

I loved that to it was sad.

I dig Sebastian Roche, but can’t stand the Jerry Jacks character . He’s way beyond redemption.
I believe you are referring to Jackie Zeman (Bobbie Spencer) as the Lisa Rinna type you’d have liked Jerry to throw over the wall. While I do agree that Jackie has had to much work done and now has a plastic rubbery look as so many other knife happy, fillered up , boxtoxed actors do, I’ve got to speak up on behalf of Jackie, I been a watching GH since the get go and Jackie Zeman was an integral part of GH for many, many years starting with the Luke and Laura era- She was once one of the highest paid soap actresses in the business. Although she wasn’t on my top ten lists, as a true devotee of GH, I would never refer to her like she was some unknown actress who didn’t count on the show. No one else ever replaced her, and without Bobbie, Maxie Jones wouldn’t have received her life-saving heart replacement.
I always felt bad about the way Jackie was treated by the PTB Not long after a much hyped campaign and $$$$ to get her back on the show after she’d left when her contract ended, they dumped her- first they put her on recurring and then threw her over that wall- not for lack of popularity but because she wasn’t aging gracefully. Not nice.

I didn’t watch anything except for the last few seconds of yesterday’s show. It was well worth the wait to see Emma break free from Patrick and Sabrina and run to her mom. Then when Robin lifted Emma into her arms, it was pure magic. The tears were flowing as Robin looked back at Patrick who stood there as he saw the one person he didn’t think he would get to see again; his one true love, his wife, Robin.

I agree about Robin being his one true love. Patrick may say he loves Sabrina but the love he has for Robin is the once in a life time kind of love which endures…And is rare..

Agreed. I never saw any build up between Sparkle Pony and Patrick. She just trotted right into his life without conflict, without chemistry, and we are supposed to be believe he is in love with her. I don’t buy it.

This wedding scenario had just as much impact as the Luke and Laura Wedding. I taped it and will save it only to play it over and over again. Hats off to these brilliant gentlemen for letting us experience such beautiful emotion and storytelling and also to the brilliant actors on this Soap. May it live on forever! Kudos and many thanks to you!

Robin & Emma’s moment was epic to me. Having Emma run to her Mommy the same way young Robin ran to her Mommy was perfection. And the Robin/Patrick gaze-swoon. That episode had my stomach in knots and eyes overflowing with tears. I was feeling Robin’s suffering while behind that door probably thinking Patrick had ignored her phone message and just happily “moving on”. I could cry now just thinking about her playing all the misinformation she got from Jerry, Obretch, the Halloween stuff and things overheard in the lab. Not knowing that she still held Patrick’s heart.

Sabrina can go clink boom bye bye

1st..
Emma was way way down the isle..
Robin had her back to Emma..
How on earth did Emma know it was Robin seeing her from behind in that baggy top and after her weight gain.. lol

I felt for Sabrina.. but! much more to come..
This story has just begun and Patrick will not know which way he will go until late Dec or into 2014 …

I feel very sad for Sabrina. I like Patrick and Sabrina together,he seems happy with her. Robin and him always fought. I am not liking Robin much and I don’t know why.I am happy For Emma, she is so happy that her Mommy’s back.

Naw, he acts like he had a lobotomy when he is with Sabrina–she depletes his spirit.

“She depletes his spirit”…..rather the same effect she creates for the majority of the viewing audience!!! Watching Sappy over this past year has been a truly draining experience! ( Particularly during that public spectacle of a meltdown….it was all me, me, ME!)

Oh my! All of this on a Monday. I didn’t know bombshells were released on Mondays! Gives a true meaning to Mondays to me! I can’t wait to get home to watch that is if my fiance will let me because he is a sports fanatic. It was an awesome show!!! Great Job. Beats Y and R right now!!!

I like sabrina but I love robin and her and patrick belong together with nomore set backs.

oh my god, i cried so much between the reunion of emma and robin. i loved the slow motion effects. i have never cried so much in a long time. this was worth the wait, for all soap fans. bravo to frank valentini.

Bad news! If the writers made Anna and Scorpio shoot Faison in cold blood – they really were wrong! No one has the right to murder anyone – not even a police officer! Plus Anders Hove is such a great actor. Surely the writers could have come up with something better! He was such an asset to the show!!!
AND, the scene with Robin and Patrick reuniting in the Church was poorly done too! No one went over to Sabrina. They just let her stand there in her wedding gown ALONE!!! Where was everyone’s compassion?
Very poorly written!!!
Better luck next time!

Given that with the exception of Felix, nearly every single person in that church was a long-time friend or family member of Robin’s, why on earth would their first concern be for Sobby? These people had just found out that someone they dearly loved and thought had been lost to them forever was still of this earth! Can you not imagine the overwhelming magnitude of their immense joy? Who in their right mind would be primarily concerned for a silly newbie in such circumstances? That collective demonstration also magnificently drove home the notion that there is no doubt for whom the denizens of Port Charles will be cheering on when it comes to Patrick’s so-called decision, even if they have to feign impartiality.

Robin and Emma scene was awesome…so worth the wait. I definitely look forward to how this plays out. I definitely feel that Robin & Patrick have better chemistry. I just never got the vibe of Patrick & Sabrina.

Me too!

oh wow, this episode had me so anxious, and the last 5 minutes had me in tears, it was just so beautiful. Robin and Emma nailed it. as did patrick face expression. I felt so sad for Robin in the beginning and then sorry for Sabrina. Regardless, its going to be some classic soap watching. bravo to all.

love GH. So glad Emma got her Mom back. Love Robin, Patrick, Emma, Anna, Robert, and Mac great shows

I loved the episode!!! We saw Kimberly go through suc heart break throughout the ceremony! I so wanted her to interrupt… yet she wanted to see what Patrick would do… the pause before his I do’s was… great! Kudos to KM and JT!!!

Loved all the scenes with Robert, Anna and Faison!!!

Adored seeing Emma run into the arms of her mommy and the expression on Mac’s face was heart breaking!

Well done GH!!!

Patrick and Robin are the complete package….The perfect fit… They belong together.. They have so much history between them..

I thought Robin and Emma gave an Emmy performance; I dislike the idea that Robin and Patrick did not get back together;

I thought the best acting and saving grace of the whole wedding scene debacle was done by Brooklyn Rae (Emma) and JT. How JT hasn’t gotten voted an award yet is beyond me. He has been one of the best actors on GH from his debut no matter what he’s given. He’s literally looked haunted since Robin’s death, and doesn’t have to say a word in order for his emotions to be so wrenchingly and poignantly expressed- it
seems as though he’s lived this and his tears and expressions are elicited from what appears to be the depth of his heart and soul. I always cry along with him.
What really bugged me, was the reaction of the wedding guests who knew and loved Robin, and especially Mac- They, just stood there like a bunch of mannequins. I mean, I understand the initial shock of seeing Robin alive, and all about giving space, but the scene wasn’t done well from my perspective. in true Mac character, he would have been all over Robin right along with Emma and Patrick. I fault the script and direction for that. As much as I don’t care for the actress who plays Sabrina, I felt her crying and sobbing was a good piece of acting. she actually felt genuine to me for the first time. Its as though she dug real deep in herself somewhere. That being said, I the preview showing Patrick telling Sabrina he still loves her, didn’t go well with me. I am also perplexed and vexed as to why Maxie wasn’t at the church. It would have made my day for her to see her beloved Robin again and to have some relief from all the guilt she’s been carry around. and, My oh my. I mean how many more people are going to survive swan dives from hi-rise buildings.

Honestly i think patrick and robin will stand together against anything. Secondly, i think britt’ s baby is neither brads or hers because their were still 3 embrios left from lulu and when maxi asked for one they said no ( because it was inside of britt). So those r my thoughts. Also, sanrina should just leave a family alone ( patrick, robin, emma) and go back out with carlos. He seems to love her very much i mean he did come all the way to port charles to win her back!!! He also tried to warn her about robin! Any way, she knows she and patrick rushed things and shouldve waited until the wedding . Yes she has heled patrick, but doesnt belong with him!

I just think of the Emma/Robin scene and get tears

Does anyone know the music used in the scene when emma runs into robins arms?

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
