GENERAL HOSPITAL: Finn Tells Hayden He's Dying!

It looks like some clarity, but with still many unanswered questions, has come to GH audiences on just what is going on with Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).
On Tuesday’s episode, Finn admits to Hayden (Rebecca Budig) that he is dying! At first, she questions him about it, and he comes forth with: “I was traveling, and I contracted a rare disease. You don’t know the name of it, and there’s no cure. But I discovered a way to moderate the progress of the illness.”
When Hayden questions Finn if that is what is going on with the syringe and the vial of unknown medication, he admits to her that it’s a drug protocal that is keeping him stable, but it’s becoming less and less effective, and at some point, it just won’t work at all. He also clarifies that it is not a contagious disease that he suffers from.
Hayden has gone to the GH locker room to retrieve Finn’s research notebook for him. Later, he tells her he wants to do good work and help people. Hayden seemingly feels badly for Finn, because her father had bankrupted the medical foundation Finn was working on to do just that.
However, Hayden pries even further and tries to get Finn to admit that his wife also died as of a result of this same illness. Finn shoots her a look, and does not confirm. or deny it.

I care too. I love Michael Easton and I think he’s doing a great job with this quirky character. I don’t see McBain or Silas; he’s different enough that I’m able to suspend my disbelief. I hope ME is staying for the long haul so once he’s cured or stable I’d like to see his character and interactions broadened.
Well, it was one of two things, as I said from the first time we saw Finn shoot up. Either he is using himself as a ‘test’ subject for a developing drug; or he has contracted a disease on one of his medical travels.
Now, we know how his wife died. I am hoping the writers will derail this train wreck and have Finn live.
I , also, want the writers to indulge and invest in a love story between Finn and Hayden.
Woulnd it be grand if his ” dead wife” is actually Brenda Barret?
I had to look Brenda Barret and her GH story up, Ghlover, LOL.
After familiarizing myself with the character and her life in Port Charles, I almost chocked…LOL. Lo and Behold!!

I figured he was dying and it gives Easton an out for his limited appearance. IF they decide to keep Finn, he will magically find a cure. [Maybe injecting the sweat of a Koala bear in him?] But anyway, I enjoy this character and he and Hayden seem to gel.
I’m just not a fan of Hayden-seems like she is being written into this storyline “just because” and probably because the actress is being paid a lot for the job. I think it would have made more sense for Finn to tell Carly, since they have sort of developed a friendship. I can somewhat understand why he didn’t tell the hospital or Monica, his medical practices probably would have been called into question since he’s ill and performing surgery. I’m just not overly invested in this storyline.
I am not a fan of Hayden either.

Agree. I think Frank V has a crush on Rebecca Budig and wants to keep her on the show despite fans pleas that we couldn’t care less about any of her namesakes! So, if Finn dies does that mean ME comes back as another character?

Calling ces yes ah no repeat what l say Hamilton Finn is by far is his favorite character he may have aids or diabetes but the awareness of what Hamilton Finn has can go to two causes as l said on the second line, are you reading as well as the magic of writing l can create Danny as Hamilton son, a single dad how many single dads are there in the world today. make quite enjoyable wouldn’t u yhink
Oh i think and hope they be come a romantic duo asap because there scenes are great and they would be dynamite as a couple. Now i was one that wanted Ava and Silas as a couple and i felt i was robbed on that . I am willing to get on board with HayFinn .

Lol, Gh. NuKiki grew on me; but, Lulu is a door-knob. I do not agree with the writers’s turnabout. Lulu should have stuck to her guns and gone through with the divorce. Then again, perhaps it is I who is too unforgiving. Do not cheat or find yourself hanging from the end of my wrath, holding for dear life.
What would make the world rosy and wearing a smily face is for Kiki to kick Morgan out of her heart and her orbit. Once a cheater always a cheater. He makes me want to grit my teeth.

I am a long time viewer first memory watching GH with my mom in the late seventies. I like Hayden and Finn I am still watching 🙂
Justin I’m a longtime viewer and I welcome new characters as long as we have a big dose of the GH “originals.” We have Monica, Ned, Tacy, Dillon, Anna Robin, Nicolas, Alexis, Laura, Scott, Bobbt, Sonny, Carly, Lulu, Maxi, Liz, Jason. I also realize we lost a lot too and would LOVE to see more of the characters I just mentioned. I love Scottie! ( what happened to Scotty and Bobby; thought they were back together), would love Ned to be on more regularly, we need Mac back…Lucy more than for the Nurses Ball. With all this, I STILL love some of the new characters…soooo glad Michael Easton is on, Roger Howarth, I like Ava, Juluan, Kiki, Griffin Munro, Dante, Nathan…and I’m looking forward to Bree Williamson.
I think it just comes down to whether an actor, character, story grabs you which is subjective like so many things.

Ideally, I’d love for Finn’s wife to still be alive, and of course, she’ll come to PC to find him. He’d be getting romantically closer to Hayden, and miraculously, his wife shows up — portrayed by RENEE ELISE GOLDSBERRY!!! Wouldn’t that be the best???!!!
What a dream it would be to have Michael Easton and Renee Elise Goldsberry back on the same soap! Those two create nothing but MAGIC together on screen!

Michael would jump at the chance to work with Renee again. I’d settle for a temporary appearance, anything, just to see them on screen together again. Michael’s recent post on his Facebook page says it all, Renee was always his choice.
Lol. I think Renee’s soap days are over. She is having, as I’m sure you know, phenomenal success in Hamilton and will probably soar even higher from there.
I totally agree with you , she has moved past contracted roles in a daytime soap. I’ve read Hamilton may be made into a movie version. Renee has really on her to the stars. However, I can still hold out hope that she would consider doing a short term guest appearance on GH.
Finn is an interesting character and I am looking forward to his story. In saying that it does look like there may be a Finn and Hayden pairing along the way. Personally, I hope it’s short lived because I would love to see Michael paired with Melissa Archer again. He needs his fiery redhead and I’m not talking about Hayden!

The story is intriguing. Not a fan of the Hayden/Rachel character. Yes, Finn’s interaction with her and their banter is ok but darn I am hoping Melissa Archer joins GH and is reunited with Michael. Sizzling chemistry always!

Celia…If I remember right, you like older films. I think it’s more like “when we can’t have the moon we at least have the stars”…great line for Bette. I remember Melissa with Michael. Just not so longing to see her paired with him again on GH like so many others. I’m more of a Rebecca girl so I’m okay with Hayden with Finn. They seem to click. One thing I haven’t liked at all about the Finn storyline is the visual ” shooting up” scenes. For anyone following the news there an epidemic of this going on right now right now with regular people, in real life. Not a great example on GH to show how. Ugh!

Oh, yes!!!! I have been a fan of Hayden since her AMC days. And, speaking of stars, I thank them everyday, Cameron Mathison is not the one playing the role of Finn. HaHa.
I, also, agree that the “shooting up” is very disturbing. Kids are very inquisitive, impressionable and curious by nature. I know that when there is no school, my nieces, nephews and my own all gather in one place ….a couple of the girls looove soaps (my son only wants to watch Kirsten Storms, lol)…..so, I am always conscious about what they see and hear.
I suppose those scene could have been shown or ‘unshown’ in a different ‘light’. However, I think the graphic aspect makes a greater impact….the struggle he is experiencing. It is what it is….
The responsibility is always put on the parent to monitor what our children can and cannot see or handle. I always do a double-take by some of the stuff that comes out of my almost-sevev-year-old son. The only place he gets it is school. Soooo….
Give it time…they’ve hired everyone else. I’m sure she’s next on the list.

Opinions vary, I never saw chemistry between ME and MA, I found them boring and painful to watch. Not everyone who watched OLTL liked (Jolie) John and Natalie. I disliked them so much I found myself not watching the days they were on. GH needs to bring on someone who brings heat to the screen, someone who brings out the best in Michael, someone like Renee Elise Goldsberry. I hope MA never comes to GH.

As I said, Rebecca is one compelling, got-you-in-my-grip kind of actress. Believe me, when she stormed into Pine Valley….not much to like , at first. But, boy; did she reel me in!!!!! Of course, that is my take; my feeling…..but, I cannot believe I am the only one who admires this outstanding protagonist.

Maybe writers have mixed and matched the right characters with each other, at least for me. I like Finn and Hayden…Nicolas and Ava together. But not Franco and Nina. He’s way better with Nina, and vice versa.
The other fun thing about the Nik /Ava storyline, while I still don’t see a GH connection, it still reminds me of Felicia and Frisco’s adventure to reclaim her Aztec heirloom. Except now it’s at “Downton Abbey.” So I’ll enjoy it for what it is.

Finn may be dying but somehow they’ll find a cure. The story is great and I am loving his relationship, whatever it may be, with Hayden. I really hope they continue to give more background and depth to her character because if the story is good then Michael Easton and Rebecca Budig could knock a romance out the park! Here’s to Finn & Hayden and more of the story. MUCH MORE!

ME could have been cast as Dr. Steven Lars Webber prison parolee who picked up a drug habit that he’s trying to shake and been connected to Elizabeth, Audrey, Cam, Jake, Aiden, and the rest of the Hardy/Webber family. Bree Williamson could have come on as Dr. Sarah Webber with her and Lucky’s son from their affair back in 2002.
I will never understand why it is fans come come up with connections to the show’s 53 year history and the writers build newbies that we FF every single time!

How much better would the show be if RoHo, ME, Matt Cohen, Bree Williamson, etc… were playing beloved legacy characters? The 3 OLTL actors could have been Sarah and Steven Lars Webber and Tom Hardy and then we could see Tommy Hardy Jr. medical intern and Sarah’s son with Lucky as a petulant teen working as a candy striper at the hospital!
Oh, that would be a fantastic storyline, and I too thought that ME could’ve been Steven Lars Webber. And an excellent question, why do we fans have to come up with ties to the history.
I think it is way TOO easy for the show to create new characters where they can come up with any old backstory, instead of doing their homework and researching beloved characters that we desperately need for the next generation of Hardy/Webber, Q’s, Baldwin’s, Ward’s, etc…
Look at Valerie a Spencer who barely interacts with Lucas, Carly, Michael, Morgan, Josselyn, Aiden, etc! Come, on! Why isn’t Valerie a nurse at GH after taking care of her dead mother for years and having her interact with Elizabeth, :Piph, Felix, Lucas (her cousin!), etc.
New charcaters = new royalties for the writer that creates them….
AND THAT SOAP IS GH & ALSO THAT IS TRUE WRITERS GET ROYALTIES WHEN THEY CREATE NEW CHARACTERS WHICH IS WHY REIKO IS GOING TO BE COMING SOONER RATHER THAN LATER & MELISSA WILL BE PLAYING HER/REIKO!!!
Why does Hayden care so much if Finn’s wife died of the same disease? I was hoping that Finn would turn out to be the Valentine? Cassadine that Helena was so afraid of.

It is still possible, Mary. Perhaps Finn is the evil Cassadine Dr. O inferred as Nathan’s father.
What if Finn, knowing his core-evil-essence wants to change? What if he is injecting himself with a “Do-good” drug? Far-fetched fantasy, that. LOL.
Yet, we were dragged to the torture chamber in Fluke’s dungeon and put on the stretch-rack….not to mention the fantastical life of Faison and his colorful array of masks.

Really this is the best they can do? A mysterious disease that do one has heard of contracted on his many travels– give me a break. Honestly if they brought back ME only to kill him off again that would be a real waste and slap in the face to all his fans. If this disease is just a way to explain his shooting up, his being a drug addict would have been a better and more compelling story. If they aren’t going to kill him off, then obviously he will be cured– no doubt by Super Priest Doctor Griffith, who will figure it out.
Oh well if Ron was writng this Finn would be shooting up Bearded Dagon blood in order to get super powers or some weird Dr. Jeyll and Mr Hyde storyline–not sure which way is worse–LOL
It does sound unreal, Mary SF. But, if Finn travelled far and wide to godforsaken, indigenous lands where fetid water is drunk, or disease infested food is eaten, is VERY possible to develop an incurable, viral disease. I would think the natives developed an immunity.
I mentioned this instantly….as soon as Finn shot up. As a missionary and from the western world, his body and constitution were not robust, or used to that atmosphere, if you will. So, he fell prey.
If that is the case, as a doctor he should have armed himself with all kinds of preventative drugs…against malaria, leprosy etc.

Well if they were going down that route, they could at least pick a real disease- do some research, of what kind of diseases are out there that the good doctor had a chance to get. But a mysterious disease, that doesn’t really exist, just to fake the drama of his dying, only to “cured” later– is just one step above Ron C way out there stories with vampires and the like— I have no issue with him being sick or catching it on some travels of his, it is this whole unwillingness to give the disease a name– at least Tracy’s worms in the brain can really happen– so if this a real disease out there Name it– if it doesn’t exist it is just a lazy plot point

Characters on soaps these days jump from love interest to love interest so much that it’s hard for me to invest.
Finn will be cured I am certain. He and Hayden will probably be paired. I truly hope it is not for a long time and that Melissa Archer comes on to GH to be paired with him again. Love those two.

that’s where the magic started and got lopped off in just the 2nd day

Prospect Park lawsuit will make it hard for MA to be paired with Easton just the hint of putting them together will make them say GH is trying to capitalize off of John and Natalie. I am not just saying this because I never liked the Jolie pairing. Prospect park has and will make it hard for GH to use actors from OLTL or AMC until that lawsuit is resolved . This also goes for Renee Elise Goldsbery who played Evangeline (I am a Jovan fan ) they would have the same issue with her if paired with Easton. Besides with Renee I doubt she would be interested in coming to GH she just won a Tony award. For example Bree Williamson is coming she is a easy fit because she was never paired with Easton or Howarth character. TAs long as Claudette is not related to Franco like Jessica who was Todd’s niece they are okay. Until the Prospect Park mess is resolved I doubt MA will end up on GH anytime soon.
I’m not really sure about your theory. Even after they couldn’t use the OLTL characters anymore, GH still had RoHo and KA (now as Franco and Kiki) routinely interacting. It made absolutely ZERO sense why Kiki would still be interacting with Franco after it was revealed that Silas was her dad, but they did so because everyone loved Starr and Todd. PP owns the characters, not the actors portraying the characters.
Honestly, if Valentini and The Gang wanted to bring on Renee Elise Goldsberry, they’d fight like hell to get her. They at least owe her that much after they killed Evangeline off for no reason! And, yes, I know she won a Tony, but she’s an actress. She wants to work. And, if they really wanted her, they’d offer her a sweet deal — something where she could do GH, and still be able to do Broadway, too. It’s totally doable, if they’d be willing to work with her.
I did not like what happened to Evangeline still angry about that. Renee lives in NYC with her husband and kids. If she came to GH It would proably be short term I would love to see even it if is for a few weeks 🙂
I’d take Renee and Michael together for a short term storyline. Renee is contracted to do Hamilton thru July, I don’t know if her contract has been extended. I have no doubt that Renee would be Michael’s first choice.
Michael was never the same after they separated John from Evangeline. I do believe Renee was his true acting partner, and acting marriage made in heaven. It’s clear he thinks the world of her and admires her talent and accomplishments all one has to do is read his facebook page.
I hope ALL of you get what you want! I want Michael Muhney casted as Valentin Cassadine! He would be fabulous opposite of Helena who we just know isnt dead!

I am so done with the crap Jelly are writing. Are we supposed to care that this newbie is dying? If he does (which we know he won’t) perhaps they can bring Michael Easton on to play a 6th Port Charles character, an interesting one this time please….

‘General Hospital’s’ Jonathan Bennett Receives 3 ‘Critics Choice Real TV Awards’ Nominations for Hallmark Series, ‘Finding Mr. Christmas’
Many things are coming up roses for Jonathan Bennett! On the heels of the news that he is set to debut this month in the role of Joe Fitzpatrick on General Hospital, who is rumored to be a new love interest for Lucas Jones (Van Hansis), comes the news that Bennett’s reality series, Finding Mr. Christmas has received 3 nomination for the Critics Choice Real TV Awards.
Bennett’s Hallmark Channel series finds itself in tough competition alongside fellow nominees: RuPaul’s Drag Race (MTV), Squid Game: The Challenge (Netflix), Survivor 50 (CBS), Top Chef (Bravo) and The Traitors (Peacock). In addition, Jonathan himself is nominated for Best Show Host and the series participants as the Best Ensemble Cast in an Unscripted Series.
The Critics Choice Association (CCA) revealed the nominees for the eighth annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards on Thursday, which recognize excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms. Winners will be announced online at CriticsChoice.com on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 9:00am PT/12:00pm ET.

Taking to his Instagram to celebrate the nominations, GH’s Bennett, enthused, “3 Critic Choice Nominations! I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. Not bad for a little show on Hallmark Channel. What are your thoughts on our show?” Jumping first into the comment thread was one of his new GH co-stars, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) who expressed, “Yeah buddy!!!🔥🔥”
In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). Along the way, they develop their skills and a bond with one another. The show, which is available on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Plus, highlights LGBTQ+ representation with openly gay contestants vying to be the next Hallmark star.
It should be noted that Traitors received the most Critics Choice Real TV Award nominations with 6 nods, followed by Dancing with the Stars with 4.
Bennett is very familiar to daytime fans having started his career as JR Chandler on All My Children in 2000-2001, before landing the part of Aaron Samuels in the motion picture, Mean Girls in 2004 starring Lindsay Lohan, which would become his breakout performance.

‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?
On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.
As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.
Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.
BROTHERLY LOVE?
Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”
With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”
BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE
Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Michael Reveals His Plan to Set Up Chase and Willow to Have an Affair
After the Wednesday, April 29 episode of General Hospital, it’s clear outside interference and other circumstances are set to blow Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) marriage sky high, as Michael (Rory Gibson) reveals his plans to entrap Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and use her relationship with Chase to do it!
In story, Michael dropped by unexpectedly to Carly’s (Laura Wright). A plotting Michael reveals his plan to nudge Willow and Chase into having an affair. Michael hopes it would create both a political and personal scandal, where Willow would lose her seat in congress. In the scenario, she would be having an affair with her ex-husband, while taking care of her supposed disabled husband, Drew (Cameron Mathison), who cannot speak and is confined to a wheelchair, which in turn will look horrible for Willow’s character.
Carly asked does he really want to destroy his cousin, Brook Lynn’s life in the process? Michael goes in on Chase’s holier than thou attitude, and says he is going to set-up the circumstances that would lead Chase and Willow to betray their spouses, and hit the sheets together. Michael swears to Carly what the two of them do is up to them, but he’s going to go on the offense with this.
MICHAEL HAS BACK-UP
Later, Jacinda (Paige Herschell) is talking with Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) at Crimson and how much she dislikes Willow because of what she has done to Michael. Just then, Michael shows up and tells Jacinda privately, he’s figured out a way to fight Willow. Looks like Jacinda might work with Michael to bring down Willow and use Chase as the person to do it!
At the hospital, Lucas (Van Hansis) tells Josslyn (Eden McCoy) that Carly is cheating on Jack, but he doesn’t know with who. Josslyn suddenly flashes back to the moment she found her mother harboring a fugitive, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), in her attic, and as figured out that her mother is sleeping with him. She heads out.

BRENNAN IS ABOUT TO LEARN ABOUT CARLY
Next thing you know, Josslyn has showed up inside Jack’s (Chris McKenna) hotel room at the Metro Court and when he enters his room, he is shocked to find her there. He lays into her for not keeping his distance and that Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) will have no problem killing her if he knows she’s WSB. Josslyn fires back that he is only concerned about that because his relationship with her mother depends on her being safe. But then, she lays the boom, and tells Jack, Well, you’re too late. You already lost her.”
LULU GETS A GLIMPSE OF CASSIUS’ TEMPER
In addition, Lulu (Alexa Havins) sees a different side of “Nathan.” Since she is unaware that the man before her is his twin, Cassius Fasion (Ryan Paevey), he tells her that Rocco (Finn Carr) blabbed that he shot Cullum to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), and now he thinks they should send him away to stop him from talking to everyone else. This concerns Lulu, who rails at Nathan for telling her what to do with her son and that she isn’t going to abandon him. With “Nathan’s” outburst at her on the matter, will she finally get a clue this is not the man she thinks it is?
