GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Gets The Quartermaines Control Of ELQ: Michael Back In Charge, Tracy Has Some Kind Words!

Courtesy/ABC
On Thursday’s episode of General Hospital, Jason (Billy Miller) brings the Quartermaine family some good news. He has wrestled control of ELQ away from Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher)!
How he did it he won’t reveal exactly to the family, but as viewers know Jason has some mighty explosive information that would put Nikolas behind bars if he didn’t sell over all the stocks. Those stocks combined now give controlling interest back to the company that the late Edward built.
Jason with Sam in tow (Kelly Monaco) stop by Tracy’s (Jane Elliot) hospital room to inform her of the latest developments, and with Monica (Leslie Charleson) and Michael (Chad Duell) all gathered around explains that he bought the shares of ELQ from Nikolas. With a mighty assist from Diane (Carolyn Hennesy), the shares are now back along with Edward’s wishes and instructions to run the company. When Tracy questions Jason and if he plans on running the compan, Jason says he has decided he is putting Michael in charge. Michael is elated, and so is Monica.
And in the most touching moment of the episode, and played by the brilliance of Jane Elliot, Tracy softens for a moment. With tears in her eyes, she says to Jason (as he is about to exit her room): “Jason, wait! When you rejected the Quartermaine name you turned your back on the family, and you broke your grandfather’s heart, and I am not sure he ever really got over that. But, I am fairly certain that at this exact moment he’s smiling at you.” Jason is touched by Tracy’s words, but remains stoic.
Later, Michael meets up with Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright), and fills him on the ELQ transaction, and that he is going to be in charge of running the company. He tells his parents that he is happy that the Quartermaines have their company back, and promises he is not going to denounce the Corinthos name this time around. When alone with Sonny, Michael tells him he is proud to be a Corinthos, too. Sonny also informs Michael that they captured Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise), but Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) and her baby were nowhere to be found. Michael seems to not be able to shake Sabrina and let it go, even at Sonny’s urging to do so.
So, are you happy that the Q’s have ELQ back? What did you think of the moment when Tracy finally had some kind words for Jason? Do you think Michael should be running the company? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
I teared up at Tracy’s words to Jason. ♡ I like this mix of Jason Quest and Jason Morgan, he’s the best of both.
Jason Q. (Grrrr auto correct)
You may be on to something, Jason Quest could be his true identity!
Jason quest
I haven’t seen it yet…
I bawled… when right out of the blue… she tells Monica… “I Love You”
this Story Line… is Magic… yeah, posts have said … this story with the “worms” is a remake and/or retread
but Jane Elliott PLUS these heart LOAD of tearjerker is dam spill
and it’s not even in the context of : I thought I was going to die… or a make up for what a itch I’ve been….. LOL
it’s Tracy Quartermania
tears, cheer, heart , show stopper, back in charge with ELQ
I don’t think Tracy is being sentimental Patrick, I think the worms and or surgery affected her emotions. Either she actually feels more deeply or can’t stop herself from expressing them. Just as Jason’ surgery suppressed his emotions and “Stone Cold” was born, I think the opposite happened to Tracy.
@Rebecca
well said…
“… she actually feels more deeply or can’t stop herself from expressing them ”
that’s the phenom of the ACT
it’s marvel and riveting
show stopper
Ms. Tracy who minds her steely resolve
it’d be GREAT if … while in this story… to see a Man catch her EYE
at the very least… see her exhibit some emotion with Alice
i’m a couple eps back…. so… If I SEE any thing like… with Ned… i’m going to lose it
I’m with you with the Jason Q/Morgan mix. Will be interesting to see where he takes it.
Plus, I really loved The scene between Tracy and Jason when she thanks him. Jane Elliot is the best. It’s also nice that Michael is back to running ELQ. A couple of years ago who would have thought Jason, Michael and Tracy would be team Q.
I love Tracy. I love everything about her….I love that hard facade which hides a loving, sensitive heart..
Happy for Jason glad micheal running things again
JANE ELLIOT HAS TURNED IN SOME GREAT PERFORMANCES…I HOPE TO SEE ALOT MORE OF HER, JASON AND HOPEFULLY DR.FINN…..
well… at the very least… Nicholas doesn’t have to interact or “mix” with Jason or Sam.
i’ll let it go… blech, blah, snore, as it were any way…. Jason and Sam super sleuthing hot about town in their cutesy cutesy matching leather jackets…. excitable aren’t they
??? so now… Nicholas is left… with Hayden… acting all in charge with Curtis… over their blackmailing schemes ??? now that she can’t get control of ELQ… what will she be left with…. it’s time for her to hit the road….
I mean really… if her father… is a former GH character… ??? who really cares that she wants Nicholas MONEY to pay off he father debts ??? at Nicholas expense… he’s still under fire and threatened by Rachel ? this just doesn’t make sense… even if she has this “forensic” report from Curtis… he’s a former officer of the law… would his report hold up in a court of law ? just saying…
Nicholas my man…. MOVE ON
Agreed! Please, please do not return him to the mob! Still not liking JaSam though. Not quite sure how selling his shares to the Qs gets Nick off the hook with Hayden. Wouldn’t she still turn him in out of spite?
Oh, Melissa….because she loves him, don’t you know??
Maybe, Hayden realizes Nik was between a rock and a hard place. He had no choice?
However, Patrick does have a point. If Hayden goes to the cops with Curtis as her investigator, and becsuse of his probable ‘dark’ past; how much credence will he have?
Also, Nik can turn around and accuse her of blackmail…..what a travesty!!!! Damned if you do and damned if you don’t imbroglio.
THAT… is one beautiful token of appreciation.. and heartfelt tug coming from Tracy to Jason.
– yet, Jason remains stoic ”
ugh! he’s coming across as more blasé than anything… he’s not cold stone Steve Burton…
I actually miss Steve Burton… he spoke less…. and SO DID SAM…. Yikes ! enough
argh! the writing for this couple more than anything is making me cringe!
Sam and Jason… are not… Bonnie and Clyde… they are not the upwardly mobile above the law patriots… LOL
they are a flatline couple… with no steamy lack interest… no chemistry… just dullard
I agree, B Miller’s Jason is a bore. They should have kept him as Jake and made him the new person for Elizabeth. The reason why Jake and Liz was a bust was because from day one, we knew that they were not going to be end story and the writing went the direction of stirring him towards Sam from the get go. It was never truly a love story written for Jake and Liz. So how were the characters suppose to truly be invested in the story as if it was really written for them to win. Which was too bad, because I think they have more enjoyable chemistry. But alas, it was not to be. Instead we now have sanctimonious Jason and Sam, the do gooders and as you said, flatlined couple, and Jason the hero ! YAWNNN
I am hopeful this is a key moment when we note the GH ship is righting and current writers realize and see the importance of the Quartermaine family in the show’s legacy and future. So many of the family members have been dispatched when they should not have been. I do not want anymore resurrections but this seems a solid course correction. Now please grow from here!
I wouldn’t mind seeing AJ rise again..lol..he shouldn’t have left the building in the first place. Lol, maybe they can make his death a product of Tracy’s ” infestation”. They can say it was wishful thinking during the relish war and was just one long wish fulfillment dream. Now, she’/s cured…enter AJ alive and well back at the mansion. I know…a tad too far fetched. Ok, no it isn’t ie masks, aliens world freeze, hints at vampires. Maybe we have room for one more….
I totally concur, Rebecca.
I do adore Tracy and don’t mind her showing her softer side. But I would really like some good old fashioned bantering to transpire between Monica and Tracy.
I remember the good old days when Tracy screamed at Monica that she needs to go back to the gutters from whence she came.
Those were the good old days.
I would like Tracy to hook up with Doctor Mayo. Why? Because he barks at people the same way Edward did and Tracy still has Daddy issues. I could see him as the new patriarch of the house.
Mr. Fairman stepped in last week and ask us to be nice. I am going to be REAL nice here! The newest writers, Jean and Shelly promised stories, focus on the hospital and legacy characters. Ladies, you did it! Thank you! In the past you wouldnt have seen that scene with Tracy and the announcement the the Q’s got back ELQ. It would have only been mentioned and we would have never seen Tracy, Monica and Michael together. It was SO freakin great to see this scene. Some say Anthony Geary passed the torch to Sonny when he went off into the fog. No, I think Jane Elliot is the prize piece on GH. She was just amazing in the hospital with her feelings and emotions on getting back ELQ and humbling herself to tip her hat at Jason. The only thing different in that scene I had wished for is for Billy Miller to show SOME kind of emotions OR have him grab his head as he was leaving, fall to the ground and pass out. Calling Dr. Lizard, calling Dr. Lizard! Oh, he is passed out! Finn could be the one to pull Jason out of his fog and give him a true identity Thank you Jean and Shelly!
Nicely put about Jean & Shelly… Wrapping up older storylines, adding
a fresh outlook on mixing & matching unsuspecting characters together works.
it’s the funniest thing… Jason Quartermaine… has no personality
“has NO PERSON’ality”
he’s a Quartermaine with no wherewithal
he returned ELQ to…
???? is this… what? a pledge… a bit of move…
he’s stuck with Sam…. he’s stuck with Carly and Sonny
he’s just NOT present
what’s the point ? after all this time
Sam never had a moment…. Jason is just as lame… no trigger no means no IN the moment… just slay as the cutesy cutesy couple
what a waste of Billy Miller
jesus… just stick him now.. with Carly and Sam.. and end it all
be done with this part of GH
bye bye
Patrick, I agree with you 100 percent! Billy Miller is a good actor. The writers need to shift gears NOW before his contract is up and he wasted two years of his/our life! MAYBE by him being the one to get the shares back this is a step towards his Quatermaine roots? They better hurry!
Awwwww, my Timmmy. You are so sensitive and sentimental. Not too many men would show that side of themselves. Love it, Timmm, and I agree. I was just as pleased with the turn of events. Kudos to the writers.
I just wish that Michael would stop wearing two faces. Not very becoming. He turned his back on his real father and the Q name. He does not deserve to run ELQ for so many reasons.
Therefore, I do hope ‘the ladies’ will remedy that by showing Michael the error of his ways. Shine a light on it !!!!!!
Sweet Cee, thank you for the compliment, I dont hold anything back! Whether its sugar or spice, I dont think twice, I say it like it is and hopefully it comes out nice! But anyway, communication baby, if you cannot communicate feelings and emotions, people get hurt and thats no fun, enjoy life while you can! AND, I am enjoying the reemergence of the Quartermaines. I dont know why Michael gets front and center? Yes it was a gift from Jason BUT they havent been to close since Billy has been playing Jason. Why doesnt Tracy get to run the company? Bye baby!
@Timmm.
Hey, Timmmy,
I am stating a fact….just as you call ’em as you see ’em; so do I. You are the ‘bestest’ of the best.
And, yes, Tracy should run ELQ, albeit she contributed to its downfall by trusting Fluke.
I think she will not make the mistake of trusting a man again. I think she has become very cynical where men are concerned.
I also think her emotions are all over the place now….something is a-stir in that head of hers. So, perhaps ELQ should not be in her hands right now. Michael will need guidance. Can you imagine Sonny being that someone? There would definitely be an uprising.
Did Jason make a mistake by giving Michael this power? He was doing well before the Cassadine takeover. Once Tracy is herself again, I’m sure the writers will make it so that she and Michael can co-run the enterprise.
And, my Timmmy……to reply to your comment on the previous site…..I doubt Griffin and Liz will have a GO at love. He will be too busy with Maxie…..there is romance in the making. How lucky is she? Two masterpieces at her disposal. Oh, shucks !! I’d love to walk in her Jimmy Choos. Luv-ya!!
@Timmm….I always enjoy hearing your gentlemanly views! Yes, Luke was a real roue’ who probably never deserved the likes of Laura, and we should thank our lucky stars that she wasn’t reunited with him in the end. (Although what I was looking for was a respectful acknowledgement and fond farewell between former spouses/parents of two children, not necessarily a full-on rapprochement and resumption of a long-lost love, which Geary refused to give us….but that is now water under the bridge.)
Whoops! Sent too soon, there Timmster! To continue: Having said that, I’m absolutely thrilled that Laura has finally found a man worthy of her attentions and affections….it’s been a long time coming, when you consider she started with the once rather dreamy Scotty, then pivoted to Luke—with brief and not always willing, intervals of those Cassadines, Stavros and Stephan—back to Luke and lastly—and unsuccessfully—to that shyster Scotty again! Kevin is the perfect type of guy for her, and she is the right sort of woman for him….far better than that tawdry tramp, Lucy! I do so hope that they have a long and happy relationship, including, yes, marriage, and that they become the moral center of GH. That’s something this soap has needed for an absolute age, and those two would be the right couple to do just that. As for Luke’s less-than-stellar reputation—and track record—with the ladies, he may be the worst offender, but certainly not the only one to come out of Port Charles….one of my biggest problems with too many of the males on the current GH canvas is that they are total sleazeballs…Sonny, Ric, Dante, Scotty, Franco, Julian, Carlos, and now even Paul, for whom I had much higher hopes. They all make my skin crawl….as does the fact that their women have such low standards as to be willing to put up with them!
I like a kind and gentler Tracy…as long as she retains her strength.
LOVE the Laura and Kevin connection…hope it moves In a forward
and positive direction. Laura will probably also need his sage advice
when “they” discover what it is she Loved & Lost.
Hey, Fanny,
I am so happy for Laura….I hope this goes somewhere. I remember how everyone wanted Laura in a long-lasting and meaningful relationship. Kevin was one of the men mentioned. They are so at ease with each other. I like the prospect of a few more ‘sightings’ between these two. A bientot, ma chere.
yeah! adult…. means
a yearn of eye to eye…
a connect so sensuous.. meow! yikes! sterling… all out
Kevin Collins “command”
woah…
Laura pulls
@CeeCee Sweetheart… I feel the same, so very pleased they
chose Kevin for Laura, I’d like for this friendship to morph into
a ROMANCE for them both… Unexpected, but surprisingly welcome.
Hi Fanny…as I mentioned to Patrick above Im thinking this isn’t a kinder, gentler Tracy. I THINK…could be wrong…but I think her emotions are all over the place due to the worms and/or surgery. As Jason way back when became Stone Cold because his emotions were suppressed during his surgery years ago, I think Tracy’s might be magnified or at least not under her ability to control…
@Rebecca Hi, if that’s the case we’re in for quite a bumpy ride…
While everyone is still in a jovial mood due to Jason’s generosity of
returning ELQ to the FAMILY… Michael should take his Cue from
Jason and offer Tracy a position at ELQ, it’s what she longs for.
Oui, Fanny! At long last love for Laura! It’s about time, eh??? I do so hope I am not the only one who is looking forward to a realistic, yet joyful, portrayal of a romance between two people of a “certain age” who have found one another, especially after each having experienced heartbreak from undeserving spouses. There is certainly something to be said for a meeting of the minds, an easy rapport, an intelligent dialogue that can actually be far more sensual than acting like hormonally-unhinged teenagers in heat 24/7 and swinging from the chandeliers, and I do believe that Laura and Kevin are the perfect pair to prove just that with a relationship that is sophisticated, yet also very sweet and unexpected for the both of them.. I would adore seeing these two morph into a Nick and Nora Charles sort of couple….given their personal penchants for the mysterious and adventurous aspects of life, I should think such a direction would be quite possible!
LOL..
ok– ”love for Laura..
I can’t wait for the bedroom getting it on scenes… ahaa!
Nick and Norah Charles? Love it, Shay. I love Dr Kevin Collins and the actor who plays him is amazing. Love Laura and I love Kevin–here are two good people who are actually worthy of each other.
I remember way back in the day when he played his evil, psychotic twin brother, Dr Ryan Collins. In fact, viewers were introduced to Ryan first when he became obsessed with Felicia. I cannot recall the circumstances, but Ryan found a note from Mac which was meant for Felicia. Ryan found the note before Felicia did and promptly put it in his mouth and chewed it up while manically, and yet innocently, smiling. In a later interview the actor said the chewing of the note was his idea and his call. Ryan was a chilling and psychologically compelling and fascinating character played by an incredibly talented actor.
And get the irony–he managed to chew the note without chewing the scenery like some other actors I can name (looking at you Stafford and West).
@su0000….I think you have Kevin and Laura mixed up with another so-called “mature” couple who shall remain nameless….they’re the ones who are all about the bedroom scenes! Hopefully, this lovely new pairing will have a lot more on their plate than just constant, unabated nookie!!!!
@Harry….And perhaps an adorable dog named “Asta” to complete this pretty picture of a pair? Whilst I was not that engaged in GH during the Dr. Ryan days, I do recall a few rather off-putting scenes with the psycho “psychologist,” though I sadly missed that “Mac memo”-munching moment…..and by the way, my compliments on your delightful example of comparing and contrasting Lindstrom’s use of skillfully subtle acting techniques with others who, well, don’t. Also,on the subject of Franco, for the longest time I have been endeavoring to figure out who RoHo calls to mind when he plays that mocking, bohemian man-child, and it finally hit me this weekend when I happened upon a vintage Dobie Gillis episode….it’s Maynard G. Krebs! (Particularly when Howarth is rocking the funky facial hair look…..) The similarities in their delivery and cadence is uncanny!
@Shay,hi… Chandeliers only seem to work for “War of the Roses”
and Sia..
Hi Su, I definately think it’s about time Laura gets to swing, hang and do all sorts of contortions from the chandelier and any other place she and whomever, maybe Kevin, maybe someone else, choose. It us, after all, love un the afternoon! 😉
Hi Shay, if I can put my two cents in here. You know how much I love[d] Luke! I sided with Tony Geary when he chastised the L&L lovers who wanted them back together and to ride off into the fog. Its over and HAS been over for some time. He has slept with countless women. Laura, we dont know about her sex life but today is a new day for her and like you said, for them to portray an ADULT relationship. Romance anyone? Here is something we know for a fact. Men never grow up and women do. Imagine staying with Luke, a guy on his sixties who guzzles booze, smokes cigars and is useless as a father! Why the hell would Laura want THAT! Kevin is a clean cut professional who has class and respectability. Yes, I hope him and Laura romantically connect and fall in love. Can you imagine Luke rolling back into town after his 1000th adventure and be introduced to Mr. and Mrs. Collins? Love it!
Hey again, Fanny. Cue-Q…great play on words and very appropro. I was actually thrilled when Michael got ELQ the first round because it deepened his ties to the Q’s and was a punch to the gut to Sonny and Carly as he rejected all things Corinthos. Now that he’s done an about-face and barely mentions AJ, I’m less than thrilled he got it back…UNLESS it deepens his ties to the Q’s again. Lol, I think Tracy might be a weepy mess for a while. We shall see…
@Fanny….Okay, I’ll go there….AND Julian and Alexis! (You know it’s true….they’ll do it anytime, anywhere…..) I’ve been expecting an “al fresco” scene of them engaging in “afternoon delight” ala the bushes, what with all the outdoor film shots GH has suddenly embraced (with limited success, in my opinion. I have yet to see the point, other than for variety’s sake. It’s not as if the show went on location to a pivotal venue or anything special like that….)
@Shay….how right You R on the unimpressive outdoor scenes.
Including the makeshift Ecuadorian location… Looked more like
the back lot of the studio. As for Alexis deciding to defend Carlos…
All that’s going to get her is a conjugal visit with her husband Julian
behind bars, might not be such a “delight in the afternoon” after all..
Shay, I think that Julian and Alexis are in for a cold shower so to speak! Julian is going to get shot and will fight for his life probably by May? Fear not though, when he turns the corner BUT is under strict restrictions that NO one is allowed to visit him in the hospital, Alexis will fit herself with a sexy nurses outfit and sneak in and check his blood pressure and his pulse. Whoaaaaaaaaaa! Ohhhhhhhhhh! Yeahhhhhhhh!
You know what would be even better, Timmm? If it were Olivia in that nurse’s uniform! Hah! (Or Heather, if you want some comic relief….it’s about time Ms. Webber makes another nuthouse break for Port Charles! Where has she been and WHAT has she been up to all these months offscreen?????)
@Fanny….I do so hear you on those remote shoots! It was quite one thing for Maxie and Nathan to have their romantic little picnic in the great outdoors….but to keep placing all those insignificant scenes in the same vicinity was a bit much. Especially the one with Ava and Julian meeting in the “woods.” I was waiting for the camera to start lurching and shaking about like that of “The Blair Witch Project!”
Oh, and as far as Alexis getting any sort of conjugal visit, Fanny? The only bars she should be seeing are those in her own cell for being complicit in the cover-up of Julian’s role in Duke’s death. Her complete disregard for the law because she doesn’t want to lose her bedmate is a total abuse of the system….and the fact that she’s so willingly representing a cold-blooded mad-dog killer like Carlos in the process of saving her sweetie’s guilty-as-sin behind makes it even worse.
I am loving the Q’s getting their company back. I would love to see Jane nominated. I was sad for Tracy for not being able to have any shares of ELQ with this new change though. I think after every thing she has gone through and after everything she has done to try to get the company back, she deserves some shares. I would like to see her have some say in how the business is run also. I would like to see her and Michael work as a team in running the company. It would also make for some funny banter between them.
GH could use more Q moments like that…
We are ALL broken records Jimmy! And think about it, there is so much history with the Q’s, the stories basically write themselves! The need to ink Wally Kurth and bring in Jimmy Lee Holt to stir up trouble!
I agree…
I loved this episode. It had a lot of heart and was well written and beautifully acted. I enjoy Jason with the Quartermaines and am relieved that he has not returned to his mob enforcer, Sonny-loving former ways. Jane Elliot is GOLD.
I’m really enjoying GH right now. Monica, Tracy, Ned, Anna…more good than bad going on right now with this show. I’ll focus on the positive.
How boring when are we gonna have spies romance freezing the world and love on the run again? A blank screen is preferable to this!
That is nice, real nice that Jason got back ELQ..
But- there is ‘no intruge, ‘no excitement, ‘no drama, ‘no suspense ‘no anything it’s boring uneventful story telling.
GH has no life to it..
It is stale moldy uneventful anticlimactic drab storytelling..
I want my GH back..
Soaps have villians. We love them we hate hate but a villain is a key character.
GH has not one villain.. Everyone is love and peace in love with everyone and that is the opposite of what a great soap is..
Unless GH gets new dramatic writers it will die ..
Again, it was nice real nice that Jason got ELQ back, with little effort no drama, it was nice.
thank you.. it pisses me off….. royally
Jason and Sam… in matching leather coats… to boot
just smoldered their way… IN wilderbeasts… I mean wildemeare
and pissed on Nicholas…
give me an expletive break… I could just SPIT
where do we go from here ?
I’m so mad at Laura right now… Cassadine my ass… she better step up to the plate
Hayden is dead
i’m just livid at the returns for… Nicholas
Laura can ram that key out of sight out of mind… if it doesn’t help Cassadine
The key opens the portrait, dear Patrick. Why have ‘they’ stopped pursuing that?
Another string left dangling. I’d like to SPIT right alongside with you, LOL, if you show me how!!!!
You were right the first time….Winderbeests!!!!!! I think Jason and Nikolas complement each other; one, a prince; the other, a bull. What do we get? Minotaur.
The question is, where is Theseus? I would very much like Jason Quartermaine to be that hero.
Furthermore, who would Jason Q choose? Sam, Liz or someone else?
So far, I do not like Jason ( which is killing me saying it, as I love my Billy). I liked Jake, though…..I would love to meet Jason Q, Patrick.
Is it just me but JASON made sure everyone got their stock back n Sam made sure Danny got his piece but no mention of little jake getting anything??
well if Jason is a stand up person, he will make sure his first born son gets some of his shares. Time will tell
Good catch, Aria. That went right over my head. Wow and double WOW!!!!.
Are we to forget Jake is also Jason’s son??
I’m no expert on The Actor’s Studio (great show no longer airing new episodes), but when I watch Maurice/Sonny and Jeffrey/Carlos together in their scenes at the church they seem to have the same type of acting style from this school…intense. I thought they worked really well together. Jeffrey Vincent Parise is such a good actor. Loved him as a priest, cleaned up, with hair combed. Throw in Anna and Wow!
…. “thank, you, Rose”
polished or not… Jeffrey Vincent Parise… is enigmatic
he solidifies all scenes he’s in
i’m cheerleaded his character from the start… and yes… there’s ooh la la
for me… he’s too thin…
no matter.. the dynamic be brings…with the whole CAST… is obvious
I even thought…. what if…. ? Carlos and Anna… sparked
OK… knock me out
Sabrina and Michael… REEL
Carlos and Sabrina magnet
i’m just so ecstatic that Jeffrey Vincent Parise… IS spotlighted
love him
Patrick…OMG…Anna and Carlos are in jail cells next to each other. Not sure they will “spark” but it has great potential for igniting embers.
It reminds me of the Tele Nova style of soap acting!
Yes, Timmm!….I’ve commented before on that very notion regarding GH’s schizophrenic nature…..one minute it’s a traditional soap, the next, it has a gritty, urban vibe, and then it’s goes all melodramatic ala telenovela, depending upon which characters are being presented at the time.. I’m really not into the use of combined styles, myself…..I would prefer a return to the tried and true formula of romance and adventure via “Love in the Afternoon.”
There is no way Michael should be in charge of ELQ after forgiving Sonny for murdering his biological father AJ Quartermaine who was also Jason’s half-brother, Monica’s son, and Tracy’s nephew.
With judgement skills like that it is only a matter of time before he hires Rachel Berlin (daughter of Raymond Berlin, master of the off-camera Ponzi scheme) or Claudette (the off-camera green card cravin’ French-Canadian ex-wife of Nathan)…
Alan, I do so agree with you. I bristled when Michael assured Sonny that he would never forgo the Corrinthos name.
Does any one even remember that Sonny killed AJ in cold blood? Is Jason ever going to find out?
While Sonny self righteously seeks vengeance for the death of Duke, does it ever occur to that gun toting, Missing Link with impulse control issues that NO ONE has ever attained vengeance and justice for his killing AJ?
How well put, Harry…and Alan, too!!! Mikey is one of the most unevolved characters currently on the GH canvas….he’s been Mr. Nice Guy then a full-on hot-headed, revenge-fueled petulant punk and now he’s returned to his former jolly self as if nothing out-of-the-ordinary had transpired in these past few years….it’s just business as usual, and he’s right back to happily straddling those two worlds in which he’s always found himself….enjoying the privileges of both, and having the qualifications to lead no entity, legitimate or otherwise. If any character needs a huge overhaul, it’s this one, and that notion also extends to his beyond stale relationship with Sabs….looks like they’ll soon be recycling that nonsense, too. Oh, please spare me the rerun….If there’s anything that can help this uncharacteristically too sweet Tracy regain her bite, tout de suite, it should be the idea that the keys to the Quartermaine kingdom are once again being guarded by this amateur. Get well soon, TAQ….very soon!!!!
Harry, I paid my respects to the ladies who are currently writing BUT there are holes and I wonder if the will get filled. Michael should NEVER forgive Sonny for killing his FATHER! He can be civil but he went overboard proclaiming his Corinthos loyalty! And yes, why doesnt Sam tell Sleepy [Billy Miller] that Sonny killed his brother?
Hey, Harry,
This is my second post…..as I was typing, my comment was lost in Cyber graveyard, LOL. So, I hope there will not be a facsimile.
Yes, we heard Nina’s name endlessly before she made an appearance. However, we knew, through the grapevine, Stafford was definitely coming.
I knew instantly by the white glives in Nathan’s tux, that some girl eould eventually materialize. I actually thought Claudette ( grrr, that name….) would be a New York High Society debutante introduced to him by MadMaddie. I never thought it was an illegal ‘Canadienne Francaise’ looking for a Green Card.
She will come to PC for the expressed reason of breaking up Nathan and Maxie. Claudette will avow her newly-discovered feelings for Nathan’s unrequieted love, those many years ago.
Or, she just wants her gloves back. LOL.
Now, the same could be said for Griffin. He will also become a major player in the break-up. Too many ‘accidental’, strained ‘meetings’.
Maxie and he have found a common bond. Duke was Felicia’s and Mac’s dear and steadfast friend. Perhaps this news will return Mac and Felicia to us.
Alan/Harry…I think you’re right about Michael’s choice of name as well as giving AJ/Avery back to Sonny. He could at least have gone with Quartermaine-Corrinthos for his last name. But at least he chose ELQ over Sonny’s “business.” So I will give Michael a little rope…he’s still growing up….and hope for the best because I want the Q’s to become relevant again. And you know Ned and Tracy will somehow get involved and “help” him.
Rose, Michael has David Thomitis! from Y&R. A good actor who played Billy and then he came back to the role years later when Billy Miller left and he was lost BECAUSE he looks 13 and he is 30ish but NOTHING he said especially in scenes with Eric Braeden was believable! Michael Corinthos is the same. Chad is a nice guy but they need to man up Michael and he needs to be believable as a businessman or go after Sonny and put him in his place! So, in other words, its time to recast Michael.
Oh, Lordy Lord, Alan…..you said ‘Claudette’!!!! Now, I have to go somewhere private and scream!!
Cee Cee, if orange is the new black then Claudette is the new Nina.
Remember how Silas waxed poetics about Nina months before Stafford ever darkened the door way? Now we are watching Robocop do the same thing with Claudette.
….and video killed the radio star.
@Harry….I hear you! I also recently made that comparison to the massive buildup (and total letdown….) of the huge “LaNina” bomb to the foreshadowed arrival of Claudette. (Just not as colorfully or as brilliantly as you just have…..) I sincerely hope we are not in for another character failure of likewise epic proportions.
@Harry….I hear you! I recently made a similar comparison to the massive buildup (and total letdown….) of the “LaNina” bomb to the foreshadowed arrival of Claudette. (Although not nearly as colorfully or brilliantly as you just have….) I sincerely hope that does not portend yet another failed character of likewise epic proportions.
@Shay.
Hey, Shay,
What are the chances Raymond Berlin will also come visit? Or, is he dead?
He may show up with Claudette. Ray could have sought asylum in Canada; met Claudette and married her.
Hey, CeeCeeGirl! It sounds to me like the whole Berlin brood is going to be showing up in Port Charles quite soon. Definitely Rachel’s mum, and with all the repeated (and I do mean, REPEATED!) references to “Raymond Berlin,” it also would seem that “Shady Ray” is on the way! Needless to say, I’m not thrilled with adding more newbies simply to justify the ongoing presence of another (unnecessary) newbie….it’s just too much….however, with the showrunners’ predilection for adding new characters, we’ll probably get bros and sisses for Rachel, too. Sheesh! Who knows? Perhaps “Claudette” is une “Canadienne Cousine” ala Rachel.
Yeah, Sonny became repulsive to me after murdering AJ, and also is an unredeemable character. I’m still waiting on Monica to confront Sonny about this.
The current Quartermaines storyline–seeing Monica regularly again, Ned, Tracy, etc.–have me enjoying GH again.
Spot on!
Perfectly said Harry. Agree with every word!
Alan, too funny! “Rachel Berlin, dsughter of Raymond Berlin…” If one more character says that…it’s like a few weeks ago when everyone referred o Shriners Hospital for Children and repeated the same info every other sentence! Would be rather interesting ifsomehow “Rachel” somehow got a spot in ELQ
Ha Harry! That’s a great idea! I’m not sure of two things though…is Dr. Grumpy going to be on staff or was he just a stark contrast to gentle Dr. Munro. And Edward was a lot of bark but a mushball at heart…Dr. Grumpy might be all mean all the time.
We all love our legacy characters BUT I am all for casting the Berlin family. Whether you like her or not, Hayden is knee deep into a big story that involves Nick and the Q’s. Now that the Q’s have ELQ back, I would bring in Raymond Berlin and his wife. Raymond would be there for Hayden OR not and also he could go after ELQ. Michael cannot be at the helm though. They need a stronger leader such as Tracy or Ned.

YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU MIGHT SEE IN THE SLAMMER
At the end of the video, Curtis (Donnell Turner) is seen in his cell at Pentonville. He gets what appears to be his new cellmate, and utters, “You?” Is this when Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) has manipulated someone from the inside to visit Curtis and begin a plan to get what he wants from Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and use her lover to do his dirty work? ‘General Hospital’s’ Dominic Zamprogna Shares He Was ‘Happy to Hear’ of The Triangle Storyline Developing Between Dante/Elizabeth/Ric

General Hospital’s Dominic Zamprogna (Dante Falconeri) opened up about the burgeoning love triangle forming between his Port Charles alter-go, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) and Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) after recently aired scenes, plus his hopes for the future of a Dante and Liz pairing, during his appearance on the Sunday, April 23 edition of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli).
On last week’s episodes of GH, Ric has made the decision that he wanted to propose to his ex-wife, only when he showed up at Elizabeth’s front door, he misread the scenario he walked in with Liz tending to Dante’s injured leg from the softball game. From there, the legal eagle’s jealous streak is reemerging which may cause him to act out and do something unforgivable, or will he take the high road? Stay tuned.
Speaking with Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson about where Elizabeth stands in the annals of the long-running soap, Zamprogna said, “She’s up there with Steve and Maurice (Maurice Benard) as one of the most legacy-filled people on the show.”

HOW DANTE AND ELIZABETH CAME ABOUT
Dominic jokes it’s a far cry for where Dante and Elizabeth previously, recalling, “We had some scenes together years ago and we were both laughing. Becky’s like, ‘Well, I guess we’re not going be paired up anytime soon.’ I remember we laughed immediately after they yelled ‘cut,”‘and said to each other, ‘Well, so much for that!'”
Fast-forward to early 2025 and as Zamprogna remembered it, “Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) came up to me at the General Hospital Christmas party, and I think it was a year and a half ago and she said, ‘We’re going to have you in scenes with Elizabeth,’ My internal monologue is going, ‘I’m not with Lulu (Alexa Havins) anymore and Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) gone, so maybe they want to see if this works.’ I didn’t want to get scenes with Becky and try to find the chemistry. I just wanted to play whatever honestly was written and came across for both of us and hope it was what people liked, and I don’t know if it is … or not.”
Knowing how beloved Elizabeth is to the GH faithfuls, Zamprogna added, “She got a big fan base with Ric … and a big fan base with with Jason … and you know, you’re going to piss somebody off. But, didn’t Ric drug Elizabeth and put Carly in a panic room?”

DANTE AND ELIZABETH PAIRING COULD STIR UP STORY FOR OTHERS IN PORT CHARLES
In closing, Dominic felt that the wide-reaching tentacles of a Dante and Elizabeth relationship is something he is 100% down for. “The triangle thing; I was happy to hear it was with Ric and her, because I felt it’s important to have her the top of it as opposed to Dante, Lulu and Elizabeth.”
Zamprogna added, “When you get into relationships on a soap, things seem to fizzle out a little bit, The buildup is what’s the fun part, and the getting to know each other, and the people who are affected by this coming together. When with this case it’s going to affect: Ric, Sonny, Lulu. There’s so much more story here. To me, it’s going to be a fun story to play.”
You can check out Dominic’s visit to That’s Awesome with Steve and Bradford below.
Now weigh-in: Are you rooting for Dante and Liz, or Dante and Ric at this juncture of the story, or neither guy for Elizabeth? Let us know your thoughts and picks via the comment section.

GH and OLTL Alum Patrick J. Gibbons Reveals the Story Behind Writing Trina’s Song on ‘General Hospital’ (Exclusive)

At the conclusion of today’s August 21 episode of General Hospital, Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) sings a lullaby to baby Dez, that went into a montage to close out the episode as her father Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) reports to Pentonville and winds up in his jail cell.
However, in a fun fact, the song entitled, “A Lonely Heart To Give” was actually written by none other than former One Life to Live and General Hospital actor, Patrick J. Gibbons.
Daytime fans first met Gibbons as Sam Manning on One Life to Live. At the time, when he started on the soap, he was just 5-years-old. Gibbons played the part from 2010-2013 on ABC and Prospect Park’s editions of the show. Fast-forward to 2018, Gibbons shows up on General Hospital as Wyatt Hoover, the scout who seemed always be injured, but in the thick of the drama. Patrick had appeared on GH multiple times as Wyatt including: 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023.

FROM HIS GRANDMOTHER’S DEATH CAME THE INSPIRATION FOR HIS SONG
Now in 2026, General Hospital fans are getting to learn about another side of Gibbons’ talent as a songwriter and guitar player after “A Lonely Heart to Give” debuted today! Michael Fairman TV caught up with Patrick, who is now a senior at Penn State entering his final year as a finance major, to get the back-story of how his song wound up on GH!
Gibbons explained he wrote the song in honor of his grandmother who passed away a few years ago with whom he was, very, very close with. “Randomly, my grandmother had a downfall and passed away during the second semester of my sophomore year. I was in my dorm a lot and I was just playing with my guitar. And at the time, I was really into finger-style playing. I wrote the lyric and music to it (with a little help from my guitar teacher Lou), and my mom showed the rough demo to Frank Valentini (EP, General Hospital). He’s like an uncle to me. Frank loved it so much he said, “Finish that up. I want to hear the whole thing, and I want it on the show.”
MAKING MUSIC FOR GENERAL HOSPITAL
Gibbons and his parents took the next steps! “So now, all we needed was a female voice, because I thought that would fit the song well,” Patrick shared. “At the golf club we go to my parents were at a dinner. They liked the singer that was performing and spoke to her about the song, and she says she would like to bring it to her ‘boss’ who ended up being Eric Bazilian of the Hooters fame!” (Bazilian also wrote the smash hit song “One of Us” for Joan Osborne).
Next, “We went in the studio and recorded it and the song came together and it was beautiful. We loved it. They loved it at General Hospital and now they’re putting it the show and they are coming in with a piano, instead of a guitar. Paul Glass, the GH musical director, has been keeping us updated over the last six months of how it was coming along, and when it would air, and how GH put their own arrangement to it. I can’t wait to see and hear what they did with it.”

PATRICK’S ONE LIFE TO LIVE FAMILY
Everyone knows that the One Life to Live extended family share a very tight bond, and Patrick said he does stay in touch with a few of his former One Life to Live co-stars, especially those from the Manning family! “I stayed in touch with Kassie DePaiva (ex-Blair) and sent her little videos here and there. She was like my second mom for five years. We keep in contact with Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) over X the most, and she can’t believe how big I’ve gotten. Like, none of them can! (laughs). I also loved working with Roger Howarth (ex-Todd) and Trevor St. John (ex-Todd and Victor Jr.), and to me since I was so young, they were just my friends, ‘Roger and Trevor,’ not Todd Manning or Victor Jr.”
It was a trip to California and a visit to Port Charles that ultimately led to Gibbons second soap role of Wyatt Hoover. Patrick explains, “In 2016, Frank Valentini invited us out to Los Angeles to visit the set of General Hospital. I think he heard me say, ‘This is so much fun. I miss being on the set.’ He goes, ‘You should come out. I’ll bring you on the show. We can make you a character.'”
A few years later, Patrick’s dream became a reality! “Then, by the summer of 2018, I was playing Wyatt, the scout, and shared scenes with Wes Ramsey (Peter August), and the best was when I shared a scene with Roger Howarth and Michael Easton (ex-John, OLTL and ex-Silas, Finn et al, GH), it was like chemistry from the old days.”

IT’S ALL IN THE NUMBERS
As to his future aspirations, it’s a career in the finance game that has piqued Gibbons’ real-life interest. But never say never to a return to acting. Patrick explained, “I’ve always enjoyed numbers. And on top of that, one of the biggest parts of finance is being personable and outgoing.”
He continued, “That’s one of the greatest skills I developed growing up. I really love the markets. I’m super interested. I’m never going to close the door to acting. I’m always open to that because I just love it so much. It’s such a great art.”
Take note! If there are any investment bankers or private equity folks among the GH faithful looking for a young analyst next year, Patrick’s DMs are open. You can find him on X at @PatrickJGibbons.”
So, what did you think of the song sung by Trina on today’s GH that was written by Patrick J. Gibbons? Did you enjoy Patrick’s performances as One Life’s Sam and GH’s Wyatt? Would you like to see him back on GH at some point? Let us know via the comment section.
