GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Wakes Up! What Does Victor Have In Store For Him?

On Tuesday’s episode of General Hospital, viewers learned just how duplicitous Victor Cassadine (Thaao Penghlis) really is! But after all, it shouldn’t come as a surprise since he is a Cassadine! But Robin (Kimberly McCullough) certainly learned the hard way!

After Victor administered the drug to wake Jason from his cryogenic state, Robin was beside herself because she did not want it tried first on Jason, but rather Stavros or Helena!

Victor had other plans, and just as Jason’s life was all but snuffed out for good, all of a sudden Jason’s arm and hand came reaching out to grab a hold of Victor.

The drug protocol worked! Jason is coming back to life and he has brain activity.  When Robin wants to continue making sure all proceeds well for her dear friend and his return to the living, Victor tells her he has no more use for her and she is done.  He then lowers the boom saying he will take it from here with Jason as he plans for him!  Robin is horrified and taken out by Victor’s goons!

So, what do you think Victor has in store for Jason?  Why did he want him as part of his ultimate plan?  What should happen to Robin?  And what about the action back in Port Charles?  It seemed after talking about Jason, Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) were getting very comfy together… looks like the attraction between the two of them is on!  Watch the moment Jason comes to life (sort of) after the jump! Then, comment below!

yahhhh!

Jason has been reanimated!!

GH has a modern day Frankenstein !!

AWESOME!!!

WHOOPIE!!

Robin was taken out by Victor’s goons!

Hopefully they will kill her !! (please please please)

LoL, if Frank Valentini wanted Robin dead he surely wouldn’t have asked her to stay when he was hired as EP. Before he came on Wolf/Altman Robin had that wound that would not heal because Lisa Niles had switched her medication with placebos. Robin was goingvto develope full blown AIDES and die with her family surrounding her. When FV came on the would magically went away near to be talked about again. The lab fire was a sure fire way of bringing Robin back one day. I’m glad that Frank changed Kimberly’s about a permanent exit.

Amen to that. Patrick and Emma deserve better.

I’m not sure what Victor has plan for Jason but what ever it is, I’m sure Sam will help Jason through it. Viva La Jasam!

I think once again poor Jason will not be Jason the first…as in Jason Q. And now…I don’ think he’ll be Jason Morgan. I THINK…that Victor will program him to his “evil doer”…thus freeing Sam up to be with Patrick (or Silas) as the Jason she remembers will no longer exist…And the question is, are they going to address his different face, or are they going to proceed with just a “new actor stepping into the role” and that not even be an issue. The only problem I see in that is that they keep showing Steve Burton’s face in photos on Sam’s mantle.

I also said Jason should return as Quartimaine many moons ago…yesterday i said to another poster that Victor will alter Jasons face to explain new look(maybe he was injured and needed it)…he also will have amnesia…Victor will use him somehow in his attempts to revive Helene and Stravos…when Kim returns in fall Robin and NuJason will come face to face and he will sort of remember her and she will know who he is…Robin and NuJason will escape Victor and show up in PC…NuJason runs into Sam at the Park and his memory returns but because he looks different she believes he is an imposter…Vic kidnaps Sam but Jason rescues her and Sam will then realize who Jason is…Jason wants nothing to do with the mob after nearly loosing his life and missing out on Danny…he becomes Dr. Jason Quartimaine and will be in constant battle with Dr.Clay over Sam!!!

All good ideas Jim…very plausible…we shall see!

yes I see those pictures of old Jason too… wonder if they will do a ‘face’ transplant too – (remember Todd’s new face on OLTL – but it turned out he wasn’t Todd after all)

mgb357…yes! I was thinking the same thing…the Todd face transplant! LOL. I bet they do that…this way Jason will technically be back…but no one will know it. He’ll be programmed and work for Victor and Helena…this way it leaves the door open to explore a relationship between Sam and Jason…or a reunited Sam and Silas. I do think at some point down the line, as jimh says above, the truth will be discovered. In the old days, when we didn’t even THINK of the possibility that our soaps may one day disappear…these types of story lines could go on for years. Now, with the uncertainty of it all…wonder how long they’ll keep Jason’s identity a secret. If, of course, this theory is correct….

Shay you should write your opinion on the GH facebook page and on ABC.com

I can’t understand why they are showing Steve Burton’s face. It makes no sense if Jason is going to live. None, zero, zip. I figured when I saw Steve’s face that Jason would die. I don’ t see any logical reason for the face change (other than the truth) so I figured if he was going to live, they would say, “The role fo Jason is now being played by x” or ignore it since he’s been off for a while. Unless they have a surprise of Steve Burton being on for a couple of days and then Jason dies. I hope they don’t program Jason to be an “evil doer.” I have a feeling I will hate this story line.

I think, Lin, probably just to emphasize or allude to Jason as we and Sam remember him…because at this point when they bring up his name…and Sam looks back…he is in the role of Steve Burton. This way they keep him alive and kicking through dialog…but we know before our fictional friends that he’ll return, but not as the Jason we know…

That’s my theory anyway…

I think this is just Ron C getting his jollies messing with SB and his fans by taunting them with these photos. (Much in the same way he pushed the Blackie Parrish/Greek Yogurt thing, and mentioned Frisco and Noah in unflattering terms over and over again.) Yeah, it’s immature and petty, but it’s being done simply because he can get away with it….apparently no one cares enough to stop him.

@Lin…..This is the only soap site where I post, since I consider it to be the best in the business. However, contrary to my various comments regarding Ron C’s sometimes childish behavior, I’m not looking to stir up controversy all over the web with my GH theories/opinions, but thank you just the same for your suggestion. The notion that the repeated use of SB’s photo was meant as an affront to his loyal fans (and perhaps the man himself) was simply something that occurred to me given Ron’s history of mockery.

The WSB/Victor want to use jason the be a hit man, and take out bin laden, oh wait he’s dead. ok ok, take out sadam Hussain, oh crap, he’s dead too, ok then, ummmmmm, f*ck, i don’t know, Jason will be the winter soldier and try to kill port charles own captain america Sonny Corinthos, although truthfully theres nothing Captain America about Sonny Corinthos, regardless, i’m not a jasam fan, more of a Laison fan so RC don’t do us wrong and forget Liz in the equation of this Storyline.

Lol, Aria. I thought Sonny was Captain Caribbean. I am not an anythingsam fan, period. I want to slap her silly with that expressionless face and even more monotonous voice.
But, more to the point. I believe that Victor’s purpose was and is twofold. He does want to unfreeze and breathe life, per se, into his relatives, but he could not take the risk of “killing” them for good. So, enter Jason as the guinea pig. Now that this phase has been accomplished, Victor plans to brainwash Jason and use his braun for his own evil schemes…no? How about….?

Oh, yeah!….I thought Liz was leaving?! You’re right, she does seem to be fading into the woodwork . Liz is ok, but not with Nicholas. He’s too rigid and staunchly for a man still in his prime.

to be his evildoer…. hint, hint…edit button…

This whole storyline is a little gross. Well, actually super duper gross.

Agreed

Victor is planning on using Jason as a Cassidine to do his revenge on anyone who ever got in their way. Killing off Robin would be in Victor’s mind only when and if Helena and Stavros are woken up and are able to go on with their lives.

To all of you who have been saying that Steve Burton’s Jason looks like he is constipated 24/7,
Well, it looks like he is finally going to have a BM, as in Billy Miller

Yeha I know it’s gross and now Steve Burton as jason morgan is wake now now to bring them home their families this storyline is will back to normal on general Hospital.

Lol, nice…. finally relief

Ugh. This story path has no interest for me. Too much already! PASSIONS went deep end and I bailed. May do so here. This is not the best storytelling for me anyway.

Where is the love, GH fans? Of course the story is ridiculous – it’s a SOAP! GH has had sci-fi stories for decades. The winter machine of the 80’s? Come on. People are brought back from the dead all of the time on soaps… It’s what we love – characters never really dying.

I’m glad Jason is back- his character is like Carly. He’s tied to too many people with so much story potential. Romance potential right away with Elizabeth, Sam, & Carly. Also, how can Carly explain Franco? What about Sean? Will he trust Jason – can they work together? Ava & Julian will be interesting to see with Jason. I can’t wait to see more of Monica.

Plus, there is Michael. When he finds out that Sonny shot AJ & that Carly knew, he will need Jason.

I can’t wait!

Did I miss something? Had Jason been re cast?

Not to be a downer but, seriously, does this show really need another character? I could understand if Burton was returning, but we all know that’s not happening.

Completely agree.

Also, I don’t want Burton returning. He and the rest of the Unholy Trio were the reason I started tuning out of GH back in the day. I was so glad when Jason went off Pier 52.

this whole storyline gross.jason to wakes up and reaches victor arm and now robin saw his arm reach out to grab victor arm and now for jason and robin bring them home to reuntie with their families

I think Victor will make Jason his personal hit man after changing his face so that no one recognizes him and another actor can play the part. I was disappointed that when Jason rose up out of his egg, Victor didn’t cackle “He’s alive! He’s alive!” ; -)

By the way, do a Google image search of Billy Miller shirtless and compare the forearms to Jason in the egg. Hmmm…

It sure looks like b.m arm lol.

I hope Jason kills victor and dr o gets robin out of there

The good news for average looking people, arms and hands are becoming huge in daytime.

Hands Newman and now Hands Morgan.

Time to move to Hollywood!

Oh lord, if we have to see only Jason’s hands and arms for months, I’m gonna lose it! Hands Newman is quickly becoming my least favourite character on Y&R, and they aren’t even a character! I guess it just goes to show how difficult replacing an actor like Michael Muhney really is.

John Black or Jason Morgan?

As long as it’s anyone but Billy Miller, and that it’s Jason Quatermaine coming back, I’ll be happy.

Okay, this is my theory. I feel like somehow Victor and Fluke are in cahoots, and that Victor is planning to use Jason as a hit man to take out Sonny. If that’s not it, then maybe Victor is planning to use Jason as a Cassadine soldier, and Victor would brainwash him to become his lackie. Regardless, Jason will probably have amnesia or some kind of brain injury, and he won’t be Jason Q or Jason Morgan, leaving Victor to create him into whatever he wants.

As far as the pictures of Steve Burton go, I feel like they’re showing them so they have an “out” later on… let me explain… if and when they hire an actor to play Jason (presumably Billy Miller), they will write that Jason had some altering done to his body, face included, so he looks different than he did when he died (similar to how Todd had a different face when TSJ took over the role, and they wrote that into the story). This leaves the door open for Steve Burton to return if he becomes available in the future, because, just like Todd on OLTL, they could say that this new Jason (played by Miller or someone else) isn’t the REAL Jason, and that Steve Burton’s Jason is being held prisoner somewhere or something like that.

i would buy that, i was scratching my head trying to figure out why they are going to all the trouble of doing the plastic surgery storyline? first lets say that billy miller does take on the role, i can picture him being a hit with fans, do i picture him staying in daytime forever ? no, so i firgure he woud put in a few good years on GH then woud want to move on, by this time, steve would want to return to gh because his bff would of been fired over at YR and steve would be forgiven and be back at the gh fold. but i guess your version makes more sense, then they don’t have to impose billy miller pictures all over sams place or the Quatermaines, or do flashbacks, ect… so it makes sense they would want to do the new face story instead. oh well. whatever i’ll take billy miller or steve burton anytime, anywhere

“i’ll take billy miller over steve burton anytime and anywhere, lol, not both, sorry but steve burn his britches with alot of fans and i’m included in that bunch..

It’s gonna be just like the victor/Todd story from LOL

okay, so if billy miller is taken on the role, and everyone is speculating he will have plastic surgery(jason not billy, loll) did he have it while he was frozen or will he get it when he wakes up? because if he’s till “old jason” then i doubt we will get any reveal that billy miller has taken on the role for a while. this could take more months before they reveal the “new face” i already feel this has been dragged on for to long. will we have to see jason in bandages for weeks? all i want is to see billy miller pretty face and asap.

yahhh!
Jason a reanimated dead guy..
A Frankenstein monster!!

Bring it on!

YAWN!
Jason, Jason Jason …. so sick of Robin’s obsession with him.

not to mention of listening to Sam or Kelly Monaco mumble through her
lines and touch her forehead all the time.

This story is a snorefest!

General Hospital is always at its best when storylines are action/adventure, mystery, and sci fi oriented. Thats the show i grew up on and thats the show i want. Watch young and the restless if you want something else.

I love it!!!!

Enter Billy Miller! Hope they don’t do a New face story. The original always comes back. Think Janet on AMC, Max on OLTL and Steven on Dynasty. They did new face stories and the original came back.

Only Steve Burton will do. No other is Jason Morgan. AMEN.

I agree! There’s only one Jason for me. I hope I don’t wear out my fast-forward button.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

By

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

on

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
