GENERAL HOSPITAL: Marcus Learns He’s Not Trina’s Biological Father

On Wednesday’s episode of General Hospital, Trina (Tabyana Ali) opened the DNA test results that would conclude who is her actual bio-dad. Would it be the man who raised her, Taggert (Réal Andrews) or, the man she more recently has come to know, Curtis (Donnell Turner)?

At GH, Marcus, Curtis and Portia (Brook Kerr) gather to learn the results.  It turns out that Curtis is Trina’s biological father, not Marcus.

However, are these results, correct? Are DNA results ever correct on soaps? Did Selina Wu (Lydia Look) have something to do with switching these in favor of Curtis? Are we digging into this too much?

After the revelation, Trina tells Curtis. they will need to take some time need to figure out their relationship.  Trina makes it clear she’s not looking for a replacement father, and hopes he can understand and accept that.  Curtis promises he will let Trina take the lead on things.

Meanwhile, Taggert, who promised Trina no matter what happens that nothing will change between them, decides to take off and breaks down in the elevator.  Marcus is devastated and in tears, and is left using the elevator as a punching bag for his fists.

You can watch the final moments of the scene, featuring a heart-tugging performance by Réal Andrews below.

Now let us know, are you glad Trina’s bio-dad turned out to be Curtis and not Marcus … or were you hoping it would turn out the other way around? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

Taggert (Réal Andrews) provided a nice but sad performance today on GH. Let the lab results stand with no more switching please. He should be working with a detective agency on the show to get more story and playtime. Come on GH!

I couldn’t agree more, was just saying the same thing to someone last week about them needing to do more with Taggert. I’m not sure what Réal Andrews availability is, I know he’s had some health issues. But if he’s free and good to go, I’d love to see more of him on screen. Why can’t he get his job back at the PCPD? If Chase can, he certainly can. Or like you mentioned, something to do with a detective agency, or literally anything else.

Taggert is a good character with a history, and the fans like him. He deserves more than playing Baby Daddy Roulette with Portia and Curtis.

I agree & lam sick of all the switching around of DNA results. Marcus should be Trina father. Curtis is too arrogant & self righteous!

Curtis really is really self- righteous jerk. He’s dismissed both Jordan and Portia for harboring secrets, and yet, he’s kept his shady business dealings with Ms.Wu a secret, as well as keeping his kissing Jordan a secret.

Hi, Millie—I missed so many Rod—-Did they switch the results again? Is Marcus Trina’s bio dad?

This is the work of Selina Wu. She even told Curtis should could do it.

I agree. Mrs wu is the culprit. Curtis didn’t want her to do anything to jeapodized the results but she’s a real band didn’t listen. Don’t like the character at all.

I agree l don’t like her character either

Yeah but Wu was going to make it so Curtis WASNT the father, remember? She thought him being a dad would make him more cautious and she didn’t want that… Not to mention Stella’s ancestral DNA project led her to believe Trina has more family in Port Charles- So everything aligned with Curtis being her dad. Portia is who’s to blame for this! I’m so mad at her- But she always has her nose turned up at Spencer…

Very much agree

I believe Selina Wu did the DNA switch don’t like her.

Glad it’s Curtis

Glad it’s Curtis who is Trina’s Dad

It’s Dr. That help Anna

I think we won’t see much more of Marcus.

Jacqueline,
It’s not like him to just run off and ditch Trina. I think eventually the DNA results will work out in his favor, after Ms. Wu’s dirty work is found out.

Taggert was heart breaking in the elevator.
Great work Real Andrews! Wish the results were in your favor.

Never thought I could feel sorry for Taggert, but he knocked it out of the park in that elevator scene.

As far as the results being “tampered”.. I don’t see it. Could Selina Wu do it? Sure, but for what purpose? She’s too smart not to know that Curtis wouldn’t come after her if he found out she somehow faked the test. Taggert too, for that matter, since I believe he’s still employed by the Federal government.

As impressive as Real Andrews was in the elevator scene, I’m guessing Taggert will go out of town or we just won’t see him. There’s little reason for the character to remain in PC.

Real Andrew’s performance was gut wrenching. I hope he gets an Emmy nod for best supporting actor. Portia has become a most unlikeable character.

Of course it’s Curtis. Did every one forget that both Trina and Aunt Stella had DNA matches in Port Charles. Duh! They are both related to Curtis. Now can we have this be the end of this. Just do good stories about how every one copes with the news and give Taggert something interesting to do.

Harry,
I haven’t liked her for some time now. I don’t believe she and Curtis will work out now that he and his ex are getting close again, which in turn will have Portia and Taggert reuniting with their ” baby girl”. Oh, how I hate hearing that term from them.

I’m one who’s glad she has two stand-up guys who are willing to give their lives to ensure her happiness. As in the tradition of Soaps, heartbreak is always an inevitable outcome for someone. I’d rather Marcus be the father … But it’s a good outcome either way..

Real delivered the goods; that’s for sure. His performance was heart-breaking from start to finish on that episode. Bravo!

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
