GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nathan Parsons Returns As Luke Saves Ethan!

On Thursday’s episode of General Hospital, Nathan Parsons made his on-screen return as Luke (Tony Geary) and Holly’s (Emma Samms) son, Ethan Lovett.

Parsons, who has been making a name for himself in primetime since exiting GH, re-entered the canvas in high stakes moment when Luke found Ethan with his leg chained to a device, exhausted and ready to pass out.   If Ethan moved ever so slightly his foot would set off what would seem to be a bomb.

In a touching moment, Ethan told Luke he was happy to see him, and the two bonded as the two always do in their own unique way.  After Luke saved Ethan by freeing him and pushing him out of the way of the device his foot was locked on there turned out to be no explosion.  Enter Lulu (Emme Rylan), Dillon (Robert Palmer Watkins), Laura (Genie Francis) and Holly all held captive, and at the end of the episode, whoever is behind this caper seemed to be revealed.   As for Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) going into Friday’s episode, Ethan explained he got away, but was not sure where Lucky was or if he was captured.

What did you think of the scenes between Luke and Ethan? Happy to see Nathan Parsons back on GH for this short arc? Comment below!

Loved their scene. Wish NP was back at GH full time, however, glad he’s doing so well in other areas.

They were some sweet scenes I’m newer to GH and don’t find Luke all that great personally, however I enjoyed him and Ethan. They are both obviously good actors and deserve their props for yesterday’s episode.

Heather…you wrote exactly my sentiments. I’ll add that I love the relationship between Luke and Ethan…they had a natural rapport from the start and picked up where they left off without skipping a beat. Thought it ridiculous though how quickly thepey whisked Holly and Ethan off the scene…for all they knew when they left Luke was about to be killed. The writing is laughable…the scene with Lulu, Dillon and the bodyguards couldn’t have been more absurd…and Holly, as well as Ethan…wouldn’t have left Luke to die without plotting to rescue him… With that said…Nathan Parsons is for me, the hottest… Read more »

I sure am happy to have Nathan back on GH even if just for a couple of scenes. I wish he was back on GH but know he has a great prime time part so we’re lucky he could make it back at all. Good luck on your new TV show, Nathan, but really do miss you on GH!!!!

I enjoy Ethan ,but Tony has turned me against Luke with his big mouth.I just saw the part where he opened the door, At the gym I saw Ethan get shot on the leg but missed the rest.

It was great to see them both together! Yes, they are natural and sincere. The entire “sendoff” for Luke is dumb! He was just in a mental hospital for carrying out horrible things and now we are on another random adventure. The writing is absurd! I wonder if that is the end of Holly and Ethan for this arc? Ethan is a cutie! I am just ready for the Lulu stuff and Dante stuff to be over and I truly hope the last days of Luke are special and heart warming, not ridiculous and unmemorable…

GH’s Ingo Rademacher Shares Insight With His Son On Parenting & Anger On Maurice Benard’s “State of Mind”

Maurice Benard has brought his State of Mind  to You Tube, and his guest for this week is none other than Sonny Corinthos’ longtime nemesis Jasper Jacks, Ingo Rademacher.

Rademacher decided to appear on State of Mind along with his son, Peanut, to talk about the incidents of parenting and anger when raising his children, and the effects discipline can have on the kids.

There are some very emotional moments within the segment, as Peanut opens up about his feelings when his dad was upset with him and how he dealt with  it

Ingo also shares how over the past few years his relationship with his son has approved, while Maurice offers key moments from his past with his father and his own son.

Per Maurice on the concept behind the show and his ongoing website: “State of Mind to me means being 100% present, feeling completely at peace inside of you, not letting your thoughts control your life and always looking for ways to be the best that you can be.”

Watch Ingo, Maurice and Peanut below and then let us know what you thought about this heartfelt conversation via the comment section below.

Gregory Harrison Is The New Gregory Chase On General Hospital

General Hospital just got hotter as it beef’s up its storyline featuring Kim Delaney as Jackie Templeton.  Now comes word that TV veteran, Gregory Harrison has come to the ABC daytime drama series as the recast Gregory Chase.

The character of Gregory Chase was previously played by DAYS James Read, who plays the treacherous Clyde Weston now and then on the NBC soap.

With Harrison taking on the role of Finn (Michael Easton) and Chase’s (Josh Swickard) father, that makes things a little juicier in the romantic department.

According to EW.com who broke the casting news, Harrison begins taping today Wednesday at the ABC studios for General Hospital and fans can look forward to his debut on-screen in a few weeks.

As to the storyline: “Fireworks could be on the horizon for Harrison’s character.”

TV fans remember Gregory from the hit series Trapper John M.D., then later on Falcon Crest, Judging Amy, One Tree Hill and more.  He also has frequently appeared in Lifetime and Hallmark Channel movies most recently.

So, what do you think about the Gregory Chase recast with Gregory Harrison? Intrigued? Comment below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Mike’s Funeral Brings The Alzheimer’s Storyline Full Circle to Its Heart-Tugging Conclusion

When a soap opera allows a full episode to stay in the story they are telling, it can often make for a riveting hour of television.  This was the case and then some on Thursday’s emotional ending to General Hospital’s Alzheimer’s storyline; when the character of Mike Corbin (Max Gail) was given a proper send-off – a funeral – and being eulogized by those who loved and cared for him.

When GH is at its best through the years has been when it tackles social issues of our time, and this story will stand among the iconic soap’s best.  The backdrop of the story was that of father and son, grappling with and coming to terms with the past, finding love, forgiveness and redemption against this most horrific of diseases that has afflicted so many.

In the episode, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) go to church and prepare themselves for the emotional day as mourners come through and share their grief and condolensces and love for Mike.  Those included: Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth – back for this one), Stella (Vernee Watson), Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and a touching moment between Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) and Carly where the legal eagle says to Carly that if she ever needs to drink and vent let her know.

As the funeral begins, one by one Mike’s family and friends say beautiful words of what he meant to them,. Michael reflects about how his grandfather loved to party and how he’d like them all to raise a glass for him. . Olivia, speaks on behalf of Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), and how close Mike and Dante were.  Ava (Maura West) talks about the love and kindness and joy he brought to little Avery.

When Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) got up to speak, things became even more heartbreaking when she flashes back to a scene where she was having a terrible time and Mike was there for – always a great listener- but he tells he eventually, he will not remember her.

GH did a outstanding job of selecting scenes throughout the eulogies that punctuated who Mike was … and how he tied in to all of the characters lives.  Jason (Steve Burton) shared how he knew it wasn’t easy for Mike to come back and try to make amends with Sonny, but that no matter what, Mike kept trying to get through to Sonny to make things right between them.

Stella’s moment was also heartbreaking recalling the man who became her friend.  Carly, who was the glue that held Sonny and the family together during Mike’s illness, shared her doubt if the family could handle Mike, and what was to come, but how Sonny helped his father find inner-peace..

When Sonny gets up to talk he reveals he had a lot of anger towards his father, and how the illness made him truly see the man his dad was inside.  Sonny tells his dad he is proud of him and how grateful he was that he came back into his life.   Next, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) sings as the mourners reflect back on Mike in a touching series of juxtaposed clips against the characters in the moment at the funeral.

After the service had concluded Sonny and Carly talk how Morgan and Mike are together now, but Sonny asks for some time alone in the church. It is then Mike appears and tells his son it’s time he forgave himself, since Sonny forgave Mike.  He tells Sonny that he has made him very proud.  As he gets up to leave he kisses Sonny on the forehead and goes towards the light and to heaven.  Just after that, Dante appears at the front of the church, shocking Sonny in a beautiful analogy that now this father and son must deal with what’s ahead in their relationship, just as Sonny and Mike had done.

This episode featured beautiful work by Maurice Benard, and Max Gail and everyone in the supporting cast who had their moments.  It was an ensemble piece but led by Benard and Gail, who should both be receiving Emmys in 2021 for their work..
