GENERAL HOSPITAL: Patrick and Sabrina Say Goodbye!

Courtesy/ABC

Courtesy/ABC

On yesterday’s episode of ABC’s General Hospital following the funeral for baby Gabriel, Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Sabrina (Teresa Castillo) said a heartfelt goodbye for now.  Sabrina as expected is heading back to San Juan to get some perspective and to have some space from being in her apartment, and in Port Charles, a sad reminder of the death of her son.

Sabrina’s exit began to be crafted for Teresa Castillo’s maternity leave, and as fans know, the actress recently gave birth in real-life to her little girl, Victoria.

For many GH fans with Robin and now Sabrina off the canvas  for now, this paves the way for what many hope will open up story possibilities for Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nominee, Jason Thompson.

As has been teased, Patrick will join forces with Sam (Kelly Monaco) to try to find the culprit of who caused the car accident that put Sabrina into premature labor which resulted in the death of Gabriel.

After the jump, watch Patrick and Sabrina’s goodbye scene!   Then weigh-in … what are your thoughts on the departure scenes?  What do you hope will happen next for Patrick?

Well, it opens doors for Briit, Liz, Sam, Olivia, but its Sam for the pairing, imo.

I believe Patrick and Sam(who in a way resembles Robin) will become an item once Nina…who isnt so goody goody as she pretends…will find a way to break up Silas and Sam!

I think Patrick has chemistry with both Sam and Lizzy. I can go for either pairing.
With Duke fawning all over Sonny and with his choosing Sonny over Anna, I think the next superbromance couple should be Duke and Sonny. Remember Jason and Sonny of Brokeback Mountain? Jason just couldn’t quit Sonny.

Whatever Patrick ends up doing next, I hope his tear ducts are allowed to dry up for the next few months. The actor is probably the prettiest male crier on tv. But, he & we need a break from his constant misery.

I really like Patrick and Sabrina together, more so than Patrick and Robin at this point. Well… maybe that’s because Robin keeps leaving, lol. You can’t recast Robin. You CAN, however, recast Jason in my eyes. But Robin IS Kimberly McCullough.

You ask what’s next for Patrick. I see a potential adventure with Sam, and I sincerely hope beyond all hope that they don’t make Rafe the driver of that car that drove them off the road and led to the death of Baby Gabriel. I sincerely like Rafe, he’s a sweet kid, confused and mixed up, but now they have him doing coke because Molly likes TJ better? Aren’t there any other girls in town? Maybe he can get Ava next? He’s in her target age group.

I believe Elizabeth Hendrickson could be the only actress who could pull off a successful Robin recast if they ever went there…imo!

Love this!!!

I can deal with a recast for Robin. If the character is still part of the story and people want Patrick and Robin to be together then I expect the actor to be there. If not, recast and we will have to deal with it. And I can. For me, Patrick is the new Steve Hardy and I do not want him gone.

I want Patrick and Sabrina to be over. Hopefully this is it.

I like Sabrina as I’ve said on many posts…and I like Patrick and Sabrina together. I just don’t see how she’d go back to him after he left her for Robin.

As for Sam…I like the pairing, but she’d first have to get over her feelings for Silas, then her feelings for Jason if he comes back…and then the knowledge that Patrick KNEW Jason was alive and didn’t tell her. Seems like a long road…

I hope Patrick and Sabrina end up together…they have great chemistry…I don’t see him with Sam..

I agree.

She stalked Patrick until he gave in….Chemistry, what Chemistry? NEVER got the pairing. Jason/Patrick deserved a better pairing/storyline than with the ugly duckling retread story. Sabrina doesn’t deserve to be in a central romantic storyline.

I cant wait to read Shays comments on this…i love the suspense…lol

p.s. i do know what to expect from Shays response!!!

I am with you about waiting for Shay! Hey Shay come on down! lol If the actress is leaving for a while on maternity leave do you think we could get Steve Burton to go on a long maternity leave from Young & the Restless when his baby is born??

Me too, Jim. Sappy brings out Shay’s brilliance. Her odes on Sappy are really things of beauty.

Thats what i enjoy about Shays comments and i like reading yours as well and some others…even if or not we always agree its fun to read them…

Oh, I agree. Everything Shay writes is a thing of beauty, and then some.

Right back at you Jim. Even when you are dreadfully wrong (JK) you always manage to be very clever.

@jimh, k/kay, Harry, and Nonna…..Hello all and thank you for your lovely compliments!!! Hope you don’t mind that I am arriving to this bon voyage party fashionably late..I have been celebrating non-stop since the close of Monday’s episode…thankfully, I am a teetotaler…..it’s a completely natural elation I’m experiencing….LOL. Soooo….I NEVER thought we’d get here after all this torturous time, but at last the GH canvas is finally a “Sappy-free” zone, courtesy of “AirJuanOne” and not a moment too soon….yes, Yes, YES!!! (A round of applause for Juan!!!!! It’s a true shame he didn’t take Felix–the Sab-ster’s faithful and onmipresent companion/sidekick–along for the ride, but you can’t get everything you ask for. You are still my hero, Juan!….but please, don’t send your cousin back…EVER!) Needless to say, the Sabzilla farewell extravaganza did not disappoint….it was every bit the sob-soaked, triple-barf bag event that I expected…and then some!!!! Although I could barely contain my gag reflex during the sycophantic symphony of sympathy for the dearly departed half-pint and his babymama, I did somehow manage with the knowledge that it would FINALLY usher in the exit of this insipid interloper who has been plaguing both PC-and particularly Patrick’s life-for what has seemed an eternity. Accordingly, that sick feeling soon gave way to an immense glee/giddiness when I realized that for-at least-the foreseeable future, we’re now blessedly absent of magic stethoscopes, lucky wedding gowns, soulful group sing-alongs, faux bebe’ dolls and all else that encompasses the camp-encrusted,glitter-dusted, castmember-propped Sabrina-centric fantasy world that we’ve been held hostage to for far too long. Just think, no more weeping, whining, wailing, screeching or squeaking…..oh the humanity!!!!! Yes, it’s a joyful day, indeed!!!! The only notion that even gives pause to this great occasion is the sad reality that someday “The Nurse” may return, but for the present, let’s embrace this sweet relief! Although it marks the (temporary?) end of my weekly “Sabby”-snarking screeds, it means we can actually tune into our favorite soap to witness Patrick’s re-entry into the adult world….definitely worth the sacrifice! (Besides, I can always wax-sarcastic on Ava and her non-stop slinking, slouching and slutting….she’ll provide enough ammo to get me through the summer. It won’t be the same, but I’ll survive!) Lastly, thanks to all for indulging me in my exercises of ongoing frustration with this beyond-annoying character/storyline for these lo so many months….especially you, Mr. Fairman, you are truly a patient man!!!! @rebecca1…Please forgive me my verbal transgressions against your beloved babysitter…we will have to forever agree to disagree on this one, and finally, to TC: Nothing personal was ever meant in these descriptive little diatribes….I wish you much happiness with your new family!!!

You have put into words what I have been thinking and feeling for so long. My fondest wish is the actress falls in love with motherhood and decides her child’s formative years are more important that her job. We can now finally relish in the wonderful and underused talents of Jason Thompson. Lets explore who he is and what he is made of. Given the right material this story could be one for the record books. But for now Champagne has been popped and glasses raised in a thank heavens this nightmare is over alas temporarily unless my fondest wish comes true and she stays gone. Patrick does not need her he can stand all on his unlike her which needs constant propping by everyone on the canvas.

Finally, you responded and you didnt disapoint…everything i expected to read from you on the subject came true…BIG THANKS!!! P.S. now if tptb would listen to us fans and give us what we always wanted: Patrick and Ava become a couple now…just kidding…lol

@Natalie….Me thinks that we share the thoughts and feelings of many, many GH viewers…In fact, I do believe I heard a very loud, collective sigh of relief as the “Sappy Express” departed Port Charles Station this past Monday!!!!

My fondest wish is the that “Sappy Express” departs and never comes up, It is not needed or by the majority wanted. Patrick’s Caboose is fine without her. They need to explore who Patrick is what he wants and desires and let him take the lead where the hospital is concerned. I would love to see a battle for the COS position between Fräulein Obrecht and him now that would be must watch TV. enough with the crying and moping time to step it up. Jason Thompson’s range has not even scratched the surface with what he can do. I say now that the Princess is gone lets really write for Jason and let him sink his teeth into some meaty materialk not this fluffer nutty stuff!

This was well worth the wait. As I said, Shay’s odes to Sappy are things of beauty. So much so, I am going to almost miss Sparkle Pony as Shay’s muse. What? I said almost and in the way the comediennes missed President Bush after he left the White House.

Hey Shay what a funny and great post I am off for the summer had enough take care and keep it fun!

@ Harry I wish it was funny the state our country is in no matter what people may say about President Bush I do think he loves our country. Hope all goes well for everyone this summer my family and I are taking off for parts unknown. Keep it fun all you soap nuts!! Peace!

Oh the burden of being the lone wolf. Sigh…Dearest Shay and Shay fans… 😉

I soooooooooo disagree with your glee! Sabrina adds warmth, humanity, innocence and a refreshing “niceness” that so many of you seem to detest. What does that say about us as people? LOL! We love the gangstas, bed-hoppers, cheaters, manipulators…but along comes an actual sincere human being and it’s a massacre on the poor girl’s character and sensibility.

C’est dommage. I can’t and never said Sabrina was my favorite character…and I do so love so many of the “cast of characters”…but I wept with/for Sabrina (and Patrick’s) loss…I thought the scenes between the two were realistic and rather poignant…I think the powers-that-be exercised control by not throwing the two back together romantically but instead showed two people who care for each other go thru a loss together…and frankly at this point I see Sabrina/Patrick and Emma more of a family than with Robin.

And I LOVE Felix! He’s the kind of friend we should all be so lucky to have. I think he’s also evolved from the stereotype they introduced him as…in to a sincere, loving, kind human being with a fierce loyalty and an attitude to match.

What will he do without his bestie? Hopefully have some interesting entanglements with Lucas!

Take good care, Sabrina…looking forward to your return!

AMEN!! AMEN!! AMEN!! No more babysitter/ugly duckling crap. Get Patrick a real woman.

Patrick should get that beard off. You look better with out it.

Barbara, he looks a lot like Carlos with the beard.

Woof.. He needs to keep that Beard… Woof

Here, here….not only does Patrick look slovenly with that facial hair….he also appears so much older! He actually looked like Sappy’s father the last month or so….NOT a good thing!

I’m so glad! I really don’t like the Sabrina character. I hope the actress decides to be a stay-at-home mom!

I’d like to see Patrick more involved with the hospital and bumping heads with Dr. O, especially with her daughter there to look on. I also want to see Patrick having scenes with Nina. I do think Patrick and Olivia might be a good match too. I can’t see Patrick involved romantically with Sam; they and their partners, Robin and Jason, have too much history together. I do think Patrick needs to distance himself from Robin. Since KMcC doesn’t want to play Robin on a consistent basis, why not free up Patrick totally and let him play a bit. I definitely do not want him with Britt. In fact, I would prefer Britt to leave PC and never return. I find both the character and the actress to be failures. Why not let Patrick sniff around Carly again, lord knows she needs away from Franco, a character who should never have been created and can never be redeemed.

I don’t see him with Olivia at all. Though she’s only about 7 years older than him (and yes she was with Johnny) I don’t see them as peers or lovers. She also has a history of gangsters…Patrick is a doctor who is married to a brilliant researcher/doctor and his other serious involvements have been with nurses. Olivia is more street-wise, street savvy but not someone I see him having anything in common with.

Same with Carly. Love her…but she’s just trouble on every level. As was Britt…and he dumped her for that. Patrick needs, good/kind/stable…as are both Robin and Sabrina. Sam, though streetwise too…is more grounded in many ways than Carly….less “gangsta” than Olivia.

Agreed….quite frankly, I’m not sure who Olivia could be paired with at this point. She’s one tough cookie and doesn’t suffer fools gladly, so that really dwindles the dating pool prospects for her. You know, one really interesting possibility for Ms. Falconeri (in terms of a storyline) would be for her to serve as the surrogate mother for Dante and Lulu’s last precious shot for a bio-sib for Rocco! (God, do I hate that name!) I’m still not convinced that Lulu should/will risk a problem-plagued pregnancy, nor do I wish to see that….she’s just toooo starry-eyed crazy when it comes to the subject of kids! I’m actually surprised that this idea wasn’t kicked around before….it certainly wouldn’t be the first time in history that a woman carried her own grandchild! As for Carly, she has also run out of a lot of romantic options given her abrasive and obnoxious persona….most sane guys would just say she is not worth the bother, hence her extended “pit stop” with fellow outcast Franco….seems nobody wants either one of them, so they are simply stuck together for the foreseeable future…..unless Little Miss Joss has something to say about it! Oh, finally a GH kiddo I can love! Talk about an angelic visage that belies the “bad seed” lurking beneath the surface. This is gonna be one fun summer at Chez Jacks!!!! Beats “Romper Room Romances,” hands down!!!!

I can see Olivia on the right side of the law with a tough cop…or fireman. Let’s get one of those on the canvas…pronto! But if you think about it, they’ve mixed it up with Diane and Max…brilliant attorney with knucklehead albeit good-natured lovable Max…and of course Alexis, another brilliant mind with every “bad boy” that beckons her. But for some reason it works with Diane and Alexis.

I think she’s a good match with Sonny…perfect in fact. The street chick with the heart of gold…but I’m not sure they’re going to give this couple staying power.

I’m sensing that Jax may be makig an appearance; haven’t read any spoilers on that but they do seem to be bringing up his name a lot.

As for Franco. they’ve made him into a complete idiot. He’s OLTL’s Todd with a sprinkle of extra moron on top. I mean, at this point there’s nothing likeable about him. Theyv’e made him into a grown up boy…he has no emotional substance, no ability to flip to a serious side…his lack of common sense is way too abundant. Telling Kiki her mother is probably dead was beyond callous; he seemed to be almost gleeful about it. Not consistent…first he didn’t seem to want Ava killed and he’s also claimed to have paternal feelings for Kiki. So he just blurts that out???!
Ridiculous! I love Roger Howarth. Loved him on OLTL This is just a waste for him…he could do/be so much more. He plays evil very well…and he could have also been cast as a romantic lead. If he wasn’t portrayed so buffonish his obvious good looks would be more apparent. At this point both “Carly and Franco” are a waste of space. I’d rather see Felicia and Mac…Lucy, Scotty, Doc. (Franco is a male version of Lucy but Lucy’s got more heart…I love her.)

Finally, for any OLTL peeps out here, Nina is reminding me of Alison Perkins. Her voice, her expressions…her mind games. Creepy…

Stay away Sabrina! Sam meet Patrick. Patrick meet Sam.

Yes, yes, and yes, Tim. It’s not working with Sam and Silas and lately, Eastman seems to be doing a dead on impression of a tree trunk from the Petrified Forrest.

It will be good to see Patrick in another storyline, especially with Sam…i nearly forgot what she does for a living…if she is a P.I. why didnt she help with the Connie murder case or does she only investigate once ever other year…lol…Meanwhile, does Nathan and Levi secretly have the hots for each other…in some scenes youd think they do by the way they look at each other but i know they arent going there…lol

Jim, I just want Patrick to stop crying. He cried when he told Sparkle Pony he loved her, he cried at the Disney on Ice show (Nurse’s Ball) he cried at his wedding to Sparkles, and he has been crying ever since. I am sure he is also crying at those AT&T commercials.
Call me an overly critical, cantankerous cynic, but to me, all that crying is a real buzz kill and extinguishes any chemistry which might have existed between these two.
Goodbye, Sparkle Pony, don’t let the door hit you in the tail.

He probably went to the “Nicki Newman School of Crying” because there is none better than her from Y&R!

I think he’s always crying because he was stuck in this mistake of a relationship story way too long…it might have worked the way you said and if the relationship developed much slower…Sabrina came on too fast in the storyline and her relationship with Patrick way too quick for it to even remotely work and be accepted by some…Sabrina shouldve been developed more slowly as a backburner character to give most viewers the chance to warm up to her…however, i still think this shouldve been Patrick and Liz’s storyline and Sabrina paired with someone else like Morgan or Micheal even if she is slighlty older or with Milo whom she had the best chemistry…now i see Patrick with Sam once Nina breaks up Sam and Silas!

Harry…You would have been crying all the time, too, if you had had that incubus encumbering your life for the past two years!

They should have Nathan fall in love with an acting coach!

LOL

“…Meanwhile, does Nathan and Levi secretly have the hots for each other…”

I certainly never thought of them together…. however, I did think…. what if either or character is gay…. makes more steam…. with : ahem! ta-da Felix, Brad, & Lucas

I just bust out laughing the other day… when Levi and Maxie were yoga’ing everything…. after manipulative talk…. Levi tells her he’s leaving… “I’m leaving, you’re bringing me down”

as Maxie blanks out

LOL

I”m more than certain, Nathan may not work… even with Maxie… as they were at the floating rib…. having dinner and drinks… and the natural ease this budding couple should share…. is nonexistent. Nathan is hot to look at … but….

I still say : Nina has to have a relapse

Michelle Stafford Juggernaut talent…. mixing in with Nathan, Silas, and at times Sam… is not on par…. monotone, lame, lacks big

Billy Miller as Matt… returns to see his brother and is also a physical therapist… couldn’t you see it

matt and patrick dalliance with Nina and Britta… and it merges these two story arcs together…

Matt as a recast established Jason or Dillan…. is too much… to compare…. the same qualities BM and Jason Cook have on screen is tenable… doable… likeable… loveable

all good actors : Nina, Britta, Matt, Patrick, Kevin, Dr. O., Madeleine, Maxie…

A relapse may work, Patrick. But, I sense that Sam may be digging her own grave. The little visit she paid Nina? ( what nerve). Well, I do not think that sat too well with Silas. I also think that Silas’ feelings for Nina are simply dormant, not stagnant. Sooner or later, they will awaken. I just cannot imagine Michelle Stafford in the role of a wishy-washy, whatever-you-say submissive type. Her true self will eventually emerge. Sam is swimming in deep water. Nina will rise to the occasion, she is just patiently waiting– we shall see if Sam is ready for the challenge. If Nina is anything like Phyllis, Sam won’t know what hit her.

Nina will blow up and loosen up and GH fans will lover her. Matt wasnt a popular character but I see your point and its a good one in regards to bringing in Billy Miller. Billy playing Jason would have a huge target on his chest. Dillon, he could pull that off because its been so long since the character has been on the show. Matt though, as long as they make him interesting, that would be a good character to play and it would give Patrick someone to bounce off of. Emma is all he has right now and she is still pissed because Patrick smashed her Faberge egg!

@Patrick…thanks! LOL…Though I’m on the verge of hanging up a poster of Detective West on my wall…(okay, not really. but he is too good-looking!) I actually like Levi. If they’d tone down his rabbit eyes/mouth…are they coloring him pink??? I think he’s verrrrry easy on the eyes as well. And there’s some vulnerability there…unless they turn him to the dark side. Hope he’s not just a stepping stone to a Maxi/Nathan pairing…

Shay et al??? Maybe they’ll pair Levi with Sabrina! Ha. 😉

@rebecca1….Hey, Levi may not be “all that,” but to deserve the albatross known as “Sappy?” No man on GH (or on earth, for that matter….) has done so much as to suffer that thankless burden! But seriously, quite frankly I am still stymied as to what to make of Mr. Dunkleman and his motives. There seems to be some truly nefarious undercurrents to his persona, but I cannot yet get a handle on from whom, what or whence they emanate….I wonder if he is being written as he goes…so much about him reads “winging it!” That being said, even though the character is immensely unlikeable, the actor portraying him is obviously skilled and talented. I almost wish he were more of the charming, roguish type of Aussie we have come to expect on GH….it would be a shame to see this role go down as another newbie failure simply because it was designed in such a viewer unfriendly fashion. P.S. I’m on “Team West” when it comes to capturing Maxie’s heart….she needs a hero!

it’s interesting you ask the question of Nathan and Levi secretly having the hots for each other. I too, noted, well feel that the actor who plays Nathan actually has better chemistry with the actor who plays Levi than he does with Kristen (Maxie). And, I think that the actor who plays Levi, is very talented, he is a gem. I hope GH keeps him around.

Nathan and Levi : on the cusp

I thought as much… really… wanted to downplay it some….

with his constant needling if you will : Levi
and Nathan withdrawn… lets loose

you have a combustible pairing

I think you’re in the minority in that thought Jeremy. Seems from what I read Levi is not a very popular character. But I’d like to see him stick around too. I think he adds a bit of hip…albeit a guru/space cadet hipness to the show. They could expand on his background as well…maybe he too had some crisis in his past that led him on his spiritual journey…maybe he’s Richard Simmon’s son…THAT could certainly explain his break from reality! LOL.

As for Nathan, though his acting is extremely stilted I’ve gotten used to him. That fact that he’s stunning doesn’t hurt…but beyond that though his words are clipped his eyes are very expressive and therefore he does convey…to me…emotion.

But no, I certainly do not see the two as a couple or having anything other than a real rivalry over Maxie. Poor Maxie. What a dilemma… 😉

@Rebecca1

Levi : nice adage or likeness. funny

2nd part, Levi: laugh out loud …. “…maybe he’s Richard Simmon’s son…”

you are absolutely right, on Nathan: “…his eyes are very expressive and therefore he does convey” excellent summation

i’ve always said…. if the story lacks… it’s the actors who take told

Headline : Levi and Nathan finagle in the Park (wing ding)

LOL : Nathan’ FUNNY ‘ est Line – zinger @ Levi

“Don’t let ME get you ALL “uncentered”

LOL : Levi : pauses his likeness

Nathan: “we were at the Floating Rib, where humans gorge on heaping helpings of animal flesh”

Bam! Levi : pops him one…. testosterone entwined

Nathan is ALIVE w/ Levi : To and Fro

how do you like them apples : LOL : I like

@Jeremy, et al….I totally agree that Levi and Nathan push each others’ buttons, but I don’t envision it in a romantic way. I view these two as the embodiment of the current socio-political divide in the country. Nathan is the “red state” and Levi is the “blue state.” Just think about it: Nathan represents the traditional, masculine, meat-eating, red-blooded, John Wayne hero type of American male while Levi is the hippy-dippy, touchy-feely, Kumbaya-loving granola guy who wants to make love, not war (or so he says….) Never shall the twain meet…..

Yes, Shay–these two do bounce off each other. I believe that Nathan will probably be a major player and he needs a foil to boost his character. And in walks Levi. As you so eloquently described, these characters could not be more different–
I wonder, Shay– have you read Moliere’s, “Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme”?– not quite as comedic, but there is a whisp of likeness with the characters.
I do not sense any sexual tension between them, though. These boys both ooze he-man characteristics, albeit it would have been interesting to see love in bloom between them. They are just the opposite–two young cocks ( no people–mind out of the gutter–lol–no pun intended ) sizing each other up for the fight. The crux of the matter is; is Levi’s apparent affection for Maxie real, or is it a means to a shady end? By the same token, I think Nathan’s feelings are genuine.

I’m glad Robin is gone; wish she would have blown-up again and her pieces bowing in the wind lol..
I like Sabrina, she is way less irritating than Robin..

Now, Patrick is FREE .. I do not want him all tied up with a woman at this point..
Geeezzzz give the poor guy a break and let him be alone to find himself and play the field/have a good time!

I never figured out the need some people have to have every character involved with someone in a love thing that would last for 3 weeks before it falls apart, anyways.
Bachelors are way more fun than a guy drowning in woe is me couple drama..

I hope Patrick plays the field until he finds a hot sexy fun babe! he needs that!!

Parallel universe and such

More like an “alternative su-niverse,” Harry!!!!

Go see his dad, visit his brother, flirt with the nurses. Live Patrick live!

Would be nice if Dr. Noah would deign to visit his son some day here soon….if he cannot come to PC after all these life-changing events that Patrick has experienced, I don’t know what could draw him back!!!!

Agree! Would love to see Noah back on the canvas…and “stay in town” for a bit. He has a son, granddaughter, extended family…and a hurt Bobbi he could wrangle with. If/when Alexis and Julian break up (what WILL Alexis do when she finds out the colossal lie Julian’s spun…the hurt it caused Molly…will she remain with him because he did it to protect those he loves???) Alexis and Noah would be great together. She can take a walk on the wild side in a hail, hail rock n’ roll…instead of a hail of bullets…

In the real world Elizabeth and Patrick would make a good couple, but as much as I think they are a good match, with lots in common– as a soap couple that might be tad too normal. Usually on soaps couples are the opposite– good girl/bad boy combo, or hero and troublemaker duo—

Personally since he so darn nice and understanding, and been walked over by all these women who loved him– I want Patrick to get bitter and become a bit of a jerk– be a playboy, gamble, have mid life crisis something— I know, I know he is father with little Emma to raise, but still they can do something to give the guy a edge. Maybe Sonny could use a mob doctor– just kidding—-

but Patrick if he is going be Robinless then that character needs his own development as a stand alone character and not just one half of a super couple that no longer exists.

yah! let Patrick live! grow! have fun!
I think he should go to Vegas and get a hot call girl and have a great time!!

He is a strong actor, give him some hot women and lots of trouble!!

to hell with poor Patrick always being a nanny pammy guy; make him real!!!!
most all real men who would lose all his women and go through what he went through would get drunk and laid !! 😉 lol

“… I want Patrick to get bitter and become a bit of a jerk– be a playboy, gamble, have mid life crisis something— ” “give the guy an edge”

ditto

In other words, you want him to revert back to his original state!!!! Sounds like the good old days when Dr. Drake first graced our screens, Patrick!!!!

They were never a super couple to me…no different than Mac and Felicia, Dante and Lulu, Sam and Jason…just couples who by some stroke of pen by the soap writers that be managed to stay together for any length of time…

Finally! Sabrin is OFF my screen…now let’s get rid of Franco, Olivia, Nina….

Olivia should have left a long time ago! Most grating actress/character ever!!

Not liking that stupid look on Nina’s face either!

I hope Rafe goes to jail for killing baby Gabriel so he can leave the show too.

Stupid face? Exactly what does that mean, I beg you? She is a darn good actress–watch her in action–watch her work–Nina, the demure, no longer exists. Do you notice her play-on-words? That is not only great writing, but also great acting. Nina’s claws are making an appearance, one by one. —-that stupid look? Well, that is a great put-on, already honed–all we need to do is sit back and watch Ms. Stafford do her thing.

Yes Nonna, that stupid cheesy smile on her face. I want to slap it off.
We’ll see what happens next.

As for Franco, what a waste of a good actor in Roger. I don’t think GH knows what to do with Franco & Carly and it’s pretty sad considering the talented actors playing them.

Whoa Missy, give Nina a chance.

I love Roger Howarth; but, I feel as though Franco is being crammed down our throats. It’s just too unbelievable, even for daytime, that Franco is now redeemed and that Carly would allow him to move-in after he tortured her family. I would have liked it if Roger came in as a completely new character. Maybe a Quartermaine. Just seems to forced. It doesn’t flow. I am surprised; but, I actually like Nina. I don’t think she is as frail as she appears to be. I’m sure she wants revenge. I think she knows a lot more than she is saying. I’d rather see Sam leave. I am really tired of Sam’s monotone. I find the character and her pairing with Silas incredibly boring.

I like Kelly Monaco but I agree, her soft spoken voice and flat delivery can certainly get to me sometimes. Michael Easton is the same way so the both of them together can get a little dull but I like both actors. I personally wouldn’t mind a Sam/Patrick pairing!

Too bad it’s not a permanent goodbye, as Teresa Castillo will be back when her maternity leave ends… bummer. I never really liked the character of Sabrina, and truth be told, what’s the point of keeping her around? She doesn’t better the show, she’s not even close to being a core character, and there are plenty of other options for Patrick. Personally I think it’d be better for the show to write Sabrina out and have her stay out, it’s one less character to write story for.

Sabrina and Patrick are over, done, no longer..
It is more than obvious the there no longer will be a love connection with Patrick and Sabrina..
Sabrina will be written to be Carlos after her return..

Sabrina and Patrick will always have love for eachother, but RC has ended them..
That was obvious by the hug and cheek kiss good-bye..
That was a good bye of two madly in love people, but of friends ..

True. When she lost the “Ugly Betty” act it was over. Plus, I think she looked too much like Liz.

Agreed! Why didnt they just put Liz and Patrick together? Or whybwont they just finally pair Liz and Nikolas?!?!

So true, Jimmy! What I would love to see happen is somewhere down the road GH receives word that Sobby has decided to dedicate her life to the church and become a nun in San Juan. “Carlos” will then return there, as well, to manage a casino/nightclub. One day, a great gust of wind will suddenly carry off “Sister Sappy” and she will never be heard of again. Oh wait, ABC already did this concept once before with Sally Field and the dashing, debonair late Alejandro Rey who could teach Mr. Rivera soooo much about “looooking gooood!” Or an alternative storyline could include the nurse flying back to PC via “AirJuan” when her magic plane suddenly disappears over the Bermuda Triangle…..again she is lost forever!!! Either scenario works for me….same end result!!!!!

Loved their good-bye… so well played and so sad. Love or hate Sabrina you gotta admit that girl has been through a lot. First she puts herself out there to a guy she has no chance of getting and… she gets him. Then just when her dream is about to come true – his dead wife shows up. And now this, with the baby. So so sad. Can’t wait to Sabrina back when she returns from Puerto Rico. Hate to see that girl sad.

I agree Nick. I loved the goodbye and Teresa has done a good job with this storyline.

Agree also…and as much hurt as she’s had she’s stayed true to her kind nature. Consistent writing…they haven’t turned her bitter n’ bitchy…yet. LOL. Hope she remains the sweetheart she is…

Funny, but Robin was a do-gooder, Laura too. Not to mention Emily. And let’s not forget dear Lila…though she certainly knew how to gently put Edward in his place.

Carlos’ love for Sabrina is so intense/so poignant…I think they could actually become a super couple if given the chance…

Now that this filler story to accommodate the actresses real life pregnancy is over Patrick can finally be free to be of her and move on. this is a stellar opportunity for TIIC to write a real story form Patrick not a fluff piece. Lets delve into who Patrick really is as a Dr, father and a man who is still in love with his wife despite what the readers want us to believe. The opportunity is there to make challenge to be COS of General Hospital, te deal with everyday problems regarding being a father and to explore friendships with both men and women on General Hospital. Doesn’t have to be romantic just give him a life instead of making him a prop for other characters. Jason Thompson is an amazing actor with an incredible range it is high time his true talents were put to good use. It will translate in big ratings a win win for all.

Amen.

While glad that TeCa has had a safe and happy real life pregnancy and delivery, I am looking forward to Sabrina being gone from the canvas for the foreseesble future. The character is superfluous, annoying, and not necessary. Her portrayer is merely competent and now that RC has a shiny new toy named Nina/MS to play with, I’m going to guess that when she comes back, her presence could very well turn into an afterthought.

I would like to see Patrick (JT) with Elizabeth (EH) even though I think he has great chemistry with KS and KM also. Patrick works well with Sam, but I think of their pairing as more like brother/sister soul mates. Patrick is not her type given her character’s history, she is a bad girl (now with a good heart) a doting Mother who has soft spot for children in general as well as her siblings- but she still likes living on the edge and is most attracted to bad boys. I believe life with Dr. Drake would be too mundane for Sam whereas Dr. Clay possesses a dark side.
KS and JT have great chemistry but because Robin and Maxi are soul sisters I can’t see Maxi going there with Patrick. Patrick and Elizabeth share a lot in common in life and love. It doesn’t hurt that JT and EH undeniably have great energy on screen and really compliment each other’s looks. I can only hope that they will not attempt to revisit a relationship with Sabrina (TC), which I never liked or accepted.

Hopefully Patrick is free of Sabrina forever. I love the chemistry he has with Elizabeth but it wouldn’t feel right for them to be together since Liz is friends with the much alive Robin. When Robin “died”, Patrick/Liz is where the s/l should have went. Sabrina has been a big waste of almost 2 yrs. She adds nothing to the canvas and should not come back as she plays no part in any of the other story lines. Case in point, with the exception of Felix, everyone at the funeral was there for Patrick. They only brought Juan back to take her to PR.

In all fairness Patrick has family thru Robin and he’s been on staff longer. But i believe Tiffany, Felix and Elizabeth, in addition to Juan, were there for Sabrina as well.

And where were Felicia and Mac? They too are close to Patrick, and it’s Emma’s baby brother. Would have thought they’d have them there as well.

to be clear…Tiffany and Elizabeth, along with Felix and Juan….

I don’t get it, there’s nothing sexy or attractive about Patrick, but he seems to get the ladies to fall in love with him, oh well, that’s just my opinion.

You’re not alone, Kia .

I’m sure TC is a lovely person and I wish her all the best with her new baby. That said, Sabrina is a boring, unnecessary character and we don’t need her or her BFF Felix hogging up precious airtime on GH. If she MUST return, please limit her screen time and storyline. I don’t mind her with Carlos. In very small doses.

Exactly. She became the Poorly Written Newbie Who Ate the Show within a month of airing. And while I’m sure TC is a lovely person, she really needs to find another day job. She’s just no good at the dramatic, emotional scenes Ron Carlivati clearly wants his precious little Disney princess heroine to have.

Totally agree with you. As a person I am sure TC is a nice, with that said as Sabrina that character has sucked the life out of Patrick. She is not on the same footing as Jason Thompson and others, if she comes back she needs to stand on her own away from Patrick & TIIC need to allow her to stand of her own, that will be the true test for the actress. All of the propping that has taken place is unfair to all of the other castmates. She either sinks or swims on her own. Patrick needs to be allowed to pursue his life as a Dr, father & if he chooses a husband. People keep forgetting he is still a married man. He may be angry at Robin but deep down his feelings are clear. She is and always has been his choice.

I like and need Sabrina, so I’m not one your ‘we’ ..
Anyways, I hope when she returns she will be on screen every day, a Sabrina hour, just to get back at her haters… aha !

Su0000, you forgot to add your signature passive-aggressive smiley emoticon. I’m disappointed.

And I wish the same when Robin pays Port Charles her next visit, su….Just for YOU!!!! Aha!!!!!

Su000, if Sabrina comes back and she is on screen every day, I would fully expect GH to turn into a Disney Animation feature.

Sabrina should have been introduced slowly from the start and helped Liz / Patrick plan the nurses ball instead of the other way around. Sabrina could have developed her crush on Patrick only for him to still be in love with Robin.

I’ve often thought that if the showrunners had simply made Sobby a more grounded, realistic and acceptable character, they would have had her develop an unrequited crush on Felix, since they hit it off so famously from Day One. Perhaps he could have kept his real preference a bit more private—maybe even felt somewhat conflicted since he obviously cared waay too much for his sidekick to the detriment of his personal life—and then made his big “reveal,” which would have created a whole different kind of drama, but a much more true-to-life one. It was all the Disney-inspired, fantasy-based bunk that made that nurse so completely insufferable and ridiculous. Everything that was done to promote her as a viable and beloved heroine was a textbook case of how NOT to ingratiate a “leading lady” to the audience…may she never return!

Ooo la la Shay! I could not disagree with you more on this post either!

First, Sob…I mean Sabrina 😉 is one of the only grounded, realistic characters. She’s not a Carly who slept then stole her mom’s husband, or Olivia, who has visions, a scheming, lying, vindictive Tracy…a baby-stealing Brit, a woman who sleeps with and falls in love with her ex-husband/fiance’s brother…a crazed, psychopath Helena…need I say more? My point is I LOVE all the aforementioned characters, but it’s certainly not for their grounded ways or realism.

Sabrina was just a young woman with a very real crush. Too sappy for you and others? Thaz fine. But she is more “real” for a soap character, which perhaps doesn’t make great story in the way we’re accustomed to.

As for her friendship with Felix…it’s one of the TRUEST relationships on the show. Felix devotion to Sabrina is heartwarming…and in real life there are many such relationships. I’ve had a few. There was no crush on either side, no expectations other than the purest, greatest “besties…”

I don’t think she was promoted as a heroine. She was a foil to the then evil witch/britch vying for Patrick’s attention. She won…until she lost.

uggg. the intricacies of writing a post with someone in the background talking your head off. okay…Elizabeth. should read…she’s not Elizabeth, a woman who sleeps with and falls in love with her ex-husband/fiance’s brother…

rebecca1,,,Lucky Spencer, a serial cheater had no problem having an affair behind Liz’s back with Sarah and Maxie, and he slept with Sam out of spite, came home and proceeded to throw it in his wife’s face. Liz never verbally assaulted Lucky for his cheating ways! Lucky proceeded to run away like a little girl when Liz finally dished out a taste of his own medicine!

I don’t dislike Sabrina but I just never got behind her story and I wanted more for Patrick. I love Kimberly but if she has not interest in coming back I want them to recast Robin. It wouldn’t be as rewarding but the way they had her leave the last time was the worst. The Robin that I love would never leave her daughter! It actually makes it hard for me to watch the show now and Patrick’s story. I don’t want him with Sabrina, I want him to find happiness with someone else. If not Robin, then Liz or Sam are fine. At least then maybe Liz will get a real relationship story. It really sucks when the only people who are going through a real love triangle are children!

huh? ”’ It really sucks when the only people who are going through a real love triangle are children!”’
/////

There are many 3’s.. seems all the couples are in a 3 deal..

I do not care for couples (unless they want to kill each other) they are boring and all they have to offer for entertainment is their love problems LOL 🙂

Just as I thought and wrote earlier, Levi informed the court that Nathan and Maxie lied. This Aussie has an agenda and it smells of Fluke.

Not a fan of Levi either. Always felt he had a hidden agenda. I think he’s after Felecia’s Aztec jewelry. He was reading a book about her heritage when Mac stopped over. Coincidence??

He looks like the guy who played Bubba on Mama’s Family….

Robin is like a soap opera boomerang – you throw her off the canvas and she keeps coming back. How can you develop a story with inconsistency? Patrick and Sabrina are great together but I think that the shy ugly girl gets quarterback story-line has played out. Jason Thompson is the most deserving to get the Daytime Emmy and I pick him to win. But I think the Academy may go for one of the other nominees. Ugh!

I love Sabrina and Patrick. She adds a much needed warmth to the show.

Levi is a cool one. And, wily. He put the wheels in motion by snitching on Nathan to ease his manipulation of the judge and particularly Maxie. So now, he is the hero. I have known many snakes as he in my lifetime. GH is making discerning storyline plots too easy .
I agree with you, Charles. How tiring! Sam and Silas are also really becoming a bore. Insipid as all heck–

u do realize that fluke is behind rafe’s actions? he forced the kid to run them off the road.

Very clever, celia. By the way, I’ve missed you and all the long lost Quartermaines in PC.

You always manage to make my day, Shay. Your writing, whether I agree or not, is such an entertaining read, I gush with pleasure. I may not have commented on it before ( I had Alida for that), but I did read every single one of your posts– always with a chuckle and a whoop.
What a great idea! Olivia, whom I am yet to place in the right spot on this soap ( am I making sense?), is still in her child-bearing years, and could very well carry Dante’s and Lulu’s baby. Wow, that was a true run-on sentence. I normally mind my grammar.
I also hate the name Rocco. It is inherently a central and southern Italian name. I was born near the Amalfi Coast–I am actually sick of it since I know so many people with that name. One hardly hears that name in Italy any longer–it is ugly and archaic– it has that “gangsta” connotation ( to parrot Rebecca’s phrase). I don’t understand why the writers would pin such a name on a baby, or anyone. Very stereotypical. “Someone” needs to visit Italy and soak up all it has to offer and then some–what an experience.
I find Carly tepid–I can take her or leave her. I have always liked the NuFranco, that is, Roger, on OLTL. However, I now find them both obnoxious personae. This strange, new storyline of theirs borders on the ridiculous.

Nonna…You make my day, too…I derive as much enjoyment from your (and other regular posters’) contributions as I hope that I provide to all of you. (I still very much miss Alida’s bright and amusing observations, but you are definitely easing the transition….as the old adage goes…”The apple did not fall far from the tree!” I can see much of the same thought process, humor and intelligent expression in your writings that your delightful granddaughter displayed…you obviously taught her well!) At any rate, I find disagreement and debate most stimulating…what a bland world we would live in if everyone concurred all of the time! As for Olivia, I am greatly surprised that the “surrogate” notion never occurred to the showrunners, as it would make for a truly interesting storyline, and finally give Ms. Falconeri a true purpose beyond cooking marinara, babysitting/battling wiseguy Sonny and cracking wise in all of her Bensonhurst wisdom….yes, I really do abhor the stereotypical aspects of her character, too, but that is unfortunately just par for the course in American entertainment….if people would simply watch some of the excellent Italian programming available on Mhz Worldwide, they would see not only glimpses of your beautiful homeland but also the real variety of people and personalities that inhabits the country. I have learned so much…about regional differences in scenery, language, cuisine and culture, plus I have YET to hear the name “Rocco” uttered even once!!!! (But I have discovered many new, interesting and unique monikers….) In terms of Carly…she is absolutely stuck in the “tepid zone” at the moment….and she can stay there for all I care. I get very weary of her full-on, bull-in-the-china-shop, “Amazon with An Attitude” act…..sadly, I consider RoHo’s trademark talents being wasted in that current lukewarm limbo he shares with Ms. Jacks. I would much prefer him to be involved in the zany, comical antics, crazy criminal capers and heartfelt human emotions he is so capable of conveying….perhaps he does possess too much of an overlap from his Todd days, but at least as “NuFranco” he is relieved of that onerous facial scar, which drove me to distraction whenever he had a close-up! Besides, I think he may have found new life with his “La Petite” sparring partner, the divinely angelic, yet devilishly determined, Joss….between that and the hopeful return of his maniacal mama, Heather, the aimless artist may yet discover a new adventure to spare us a repeat of his playing “Ned Nickerson” to Carly’s “Nancy Drew” in all their appalling “Mile High Club” glory….that was simply gross!

How right you are. I left Italy at the age of five. I visit every year and each time something else is taken away from the town I once cherished. Yet, I faithfully return. The sweet Calabrian air beckons–the salty breeze from the Tyrrhenian evokes memories which can never be recaptured — very nostalgic. But, one cannot stop progress. There is not one trace of the cobblestones that to me was a work of art. The regional dialects are also a thing of the past– except for some of the old folk, who lack education, ( as dialects are forbidden in the classroom) everyone speaks Italian proper. Florentine ( Tuscany) is actually the only dialect which comes close to Italian in its pure form. The culture, the food, the shared affinity –my pride and joy.
Thank you for your kind words, but my writing is a far cry from your colourful depictions, albeit I taught English Lit for decades.
The return of Heather would be fantastic. Imagine an alliance between her and Dr. O.– breathtakingly hilarious. We do need comic relief from some of this nonsense thrown at us.
Now, on a different note, We all knew that Nina was not going to sit in that chair for long, but she really made me jump off my sofa today. Good grief, what was that? I hope the writers do not go there–make her crazy? I want to be able to enjoy Ms. Stafford’s acting skills; not this way, though. I think that pairing Sam with Silas is just as destructive as that of Sabrina and Patrick — it “ain’t ” going to work. So, seeing Nina act this psychotic goes against the grain for me. I would like to see her and Silas together–

Hi Nonna…Shay has directed me your way. Say hi to Fas for me! 😉

I agree with your post and wrote something similar regarding Carly and particularly Todd…errrr…Franco. He’s being wasted…and in so doing being reduced to infantile standards. I’m afraid if he speaks up about the hideous caricature they’ve made him into he’ll be forced to take Sean Kanan’s exit route.

Hi Rebecca. It truly is a waste–to have reduced such a great actor as he to such low standards. I miss Todd, scar and all (lol, Shay)
Alide ( FAS ) wants to save the world one day and cure babies of diseases. Her aspirations are Herculean and seemingly insurmountable. But, her head is firmly set on her shapely shoulders and she will do what she has set out to do. I always relay what is current on the soaps, time permitting.
She is still determined to meet Mr. Fairman, — silly girl–knowing her she will !

Rebecca, as you can see, FAS are my daughter’s initials (Alida’s mother). Both my granddaughter and I use my daughter’s iPad. I simply forgot to change the name. That is the reason it is posted as FAS. I am sure it will happen again. Sorry,

You must be so confused, Rebacca. I previously answered your post as FAS . I am visiting my daughter and using her iPad as Alida did as well. I never carry mine.
I do agree that the writers are doing Roger a disservice by parading him as a clown. Unfortunately DePaiva is now on DOOL. It would have been a treat for us if she could have been given a new identity and be Franco’s love interest. Carly and he just don’t jive for me.

rebecca1….Speaking of SK, have you seen him yet on B&B? I only caught his brief debut, but he looked to be having the time of his life….probably thinking no more d@#n relish and panic attacks to put up with!!!! Hah! Anyway, seems Sean is already looking to claim dominance in his new/old role….check out either celebdirtylaundry online or the Globe next time you are in the supermarket line…apparently there are some male diva wars going on at B&B, and I loved what they revealed about our beloved ex-AJ!!!! I’m sure you will like it, too!!!!

@Nonna…..I have not read the Moliere’ piece you referenced, but am aware of the plot…definitely some similarities there, yes! I wish I had been exposed to more French writers during college, but unfortunately my one quarter of World Lit bogged me down with Antigone, Dante’s Inferno, Hedda Gabbler, Kafka and other “significant,” but less than thrilling, but important works. I am embarrassed to admit that I didn’t even finish Proust….although I am still obsessed with thoughts of those delectable cookies! LOL….I am sure in your educational system you were exposed to many more of the great authors from France since the country has a natural affinity with Canada. As for me, I was stuck with mostly American offerings, and although I admire Mark Twain as a humorist, I have had enough of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer to last me a lifetime….they really don’t cut it for me in the fictional realm! As for Levi vs. Nathan, I feel their rivalry for Maxie is a genuine one, I see nothing “going on” between these two males…they are simply fighting for dominance and territory, although RP has obviously stirred the desires of both his male and female fan bases…(I am liking him much better since he was revealed as Dr. O.’s son….and am looking forward to the discovery of his father’s identity….Victor Cassadine, anyone????) While Mr. Dunkleman (Whatta name!) probably has less than noble motives where Maxie is concerned, I think in the end, he may actually have some true feelings for her which will complicate his yet to be revealed mission….not really convinced that it has to do with the Aztec treasure, though….a red herring, perhaps????? Also, I would not be surprised if the entire watermelon persona is just an act….when Mac left the apartment the last time with the remnants of mac and cheese left on the coffee table, I almost thought I saw a glimpse of longing desire in Levi as he eyed the leftovers! Kept thinking he was going to succumb to the craving….in fact, one of these days I fully expect him to be caught surreptitiously indulging in a burger or one of Kelly’s famous BLT’s!!!!!!

@Shay…I’ll take a peek next time I’m on line…not online. ahem.

Speaking of Sean, I never realized (or if I did it was buried in the recesses of my mind) that Sean had very real addiction problems. I actually looked him up on youtube and watched him in some reality show about that. Only caught a glimpse of it but it was verrrry interesting to watch the real Sean battle his demons…cocky, defensive and extremely well-spoken/intelligent. He was also very thin…in a good way. I’m assuming some of his weight gain was from eating food to compensate.

Either way, I like the man. I don’t watch any daytime soap other than GH, but I think the powers-that-be know what they’re doing by scooping up fan favorites on other shows. Out of curiosity I’m planning on checking SK out in his new/old gig; same with Kassie De Paiva. Perhaps that will be the beginning of another soap for me. Not sure if I can get in to one that I’ve never watched.

I also find it a testament to our “worldly ways” 😉 that so many of us have read Dostoevsky, Kafka, enjoy the art of Modigliani or Hopper…and yet get so involved in the soap genre.

I think that sums up well-rounded…or just, as k/kay so eloquently put it…”soap nuts!”

Nonna….Would the “F” in FAS by any chance be “Fabia?” Awhile ago I had some wonderful back and forth with a lovely lady by that name….we shared a considerable consternation with Ava and her atrocious airs, appalling accouterments and alley-cat antics, and oddly enough, she also mentioned using her iPad. She just sort of disappeared from the website, and I have missed her ever since. Simply thought I would ask…..hope you don’t mind the inquiry. If your daughter is indeed that person, please tell her I said “Ciao!”

No, her name is Francesca, as is mine.
I bid you adieu, dear Shay. Off to la mia bella Italia, for the summer.
Arrivederci.

@Nonna….What beautiful words you evoked in tribute to your birth country! And very befitting, too…I know exactly what you mean about losing the culture and uniqueness of the homeland, because I feel it here in America, too…it’s the Walmart-ization of the world…everything has been homogenized and standardized….there are no real regional differences in locales anymore, and it’s a true shame. I have had British acquaintances tell me the same thing about England, as well….their charming chocolate box villages full of shopkeepers and local color have been obliterated beyond recognition, too. I find it all very sad because I think the differences in people and places are what make life interesting….there is too much of a movement towards sameness, but I cannot see an end to it. I am not surprised that you have a background in teaching literature….your descriptive soul speaks of someone with a knowledge of the great writers of history…I wish you had been my instructor!!! Though I only had college minors in both English and journalism (my majors were business and communications…) I definitely always enjoyed exploring the classics, even though I tended to be repeatedly bogged down with the same authors and titles……mostly of the American variety. (The only one I truly liked was “Catcher in the Rye”….that Holden Caulfield was one bad boy…..ha!) But I do still have an inches-thick volume of World Lit boxed away and you have inspired me to dig it out and do some reading beyond my copious, non-print daily diet of internet news, views and minutiae. So, thank you for that!!!! As for “La Nina,” I knew it was only a matter of time before she blew her considerable gasket and the inner psycho emerged! Now the insanity begins….however, I certainly hope that Silas does not remain completely clueless to this reality for too long! Sam is already suspicious of the supposed invalid and I like that she will not have the wool pulled over her eyes, although that will most certainly throw a considerable wrench into her relationship with the conflicted Dr. Clay. While their current chemistry is much more low-key than was witnessed during their supercouple stint on “Port Charles” I still like them together, but it appears that their romance will not be a smooth sail with the ex coming between them….not to mention that Jason’s foreshadowed reappearance will further complicate their tenuous union. While I continue to remain unsold on MS as being a suitable soulmate for Silas, I do acknowledge her talent, and am sure that her path of instability and revenge is going to be a feast of foreseeable freakouts if Friday’s little preview is any indication! That tall drink of water is going to be one tumultuous terror! P.S. Loved those black stiletto boots she was wearing!!!!

Francesca!!!! Bellissima! (A beautiful name for a beautiful lady!!!) How wonderful that you are headed to “Italia!” Please be sure when you see Alida to send her my best, and let her know how truly missed she is here at MFSoaps….despite the fact that you have definitely “stepped into her stilettos” with equal aplomb and panache!!! It will not be the same here in your absence, Nonna!!! Your brief appearance was a most memorable and pleasurable one….please don’t forget us and do return to this site when you again grace our shores. Until then, buone vacanze e buon viaggio! Arrivederci!!! ; )

@Nonna…..I truly hope this message arrives in your personal inbox….I attempted to post on the page where you made your grand end of the year “re-entrance” to MFSoaps, but since there was no link attached for you, I merely positioned it in response to my name directly below your own most excellent comments. Alas, that was not successful….I’m sure we both can guess as to the reason why. Regardless, I tracked down the last of our former correspondence and decided to give it another try by reposting here. With a bit of luck, you shall at the very least personally receive my thoughts so that you will know that your reappearance has been both duly noted and most appreciated!!!!……………….

@Nonna…..CIAO, NONNA! Bentornati a un’amica!!!!! And not a moment too soon….you have been missed, dear lady!!!! When I noticed your first post, I was nearly certain it was from you, but the second one left no doubt! How are you? Very well, I hope! And the lovely Alida???? (Nearly a doctor by now????) I cannot tell you how many times I have fondly thought of the both of you over these far too many months since your departure for the Amalfi Coast….so good to know you have returned to our shores, and in such a beautiful season, no less!!! Needless to say, much has changed here, yet various things do remain the same….quite thankfully, no expounding upon that notion is required since it would appear that you’ve actually already been here, reading our musings from a silent distance. (I wouldn’t know where to begin anyway….how on earth does one explain the inexplicable? Then again, I must note you seem to have quite a handle on the situation.) At any rate, I do so hope that you shall favor us with an update on FAS and yourself….the two of you left such a void here at MFSoaps that has never been filled, yet I’m sure you’ve noticed that we have carried on and found new friends to love, too! Of course, one of those greatest examples is my bestie, CeeCee! She appeared almost at the same time as your sweet Alida left us for Milan and I must say her youthful elan, keen intellect and wicked wit much reminded me of your wonderful granddaughter, although she is most obviously a true original in her own sense….just like the irreplaceable FAS! (In fact, I glowingly wrote of the two of you to her, so she should recognize you, as well!) Oh, and CeeCee also speaks fluent Italian, so I’ve not had to abandon my penchant for tossing in the occasional “espressione italiana”…this smart cookie keeps me on my toes!!!! Having said that, it would be a kick for my fast and faithful favorites to connect, so please do contact me when you see one of our GH conversations in progress…..believe me, your added thoughts will be most welcome! Oh well, I shan’t keep you any longer for now….I simply wanted to offer my sincerest salutations and let you know that your delightfully surprising and timely reappearance has been acknowledged…..we sorely needed a “no-nonsense nonna” here, and suddenly, there you were! Felice anno nuovo to you and yours, especially the fabulous FAS! (Please send her my greetings and best wishes!!!!) Buona notte, bella!!!!

Felice Anno Nuovo, dear Shay:
I hope the festivities went well. I did not think you had received my post since I did not see it on the board. I am so pleased you did get it. My husband and I have decided to make Italy our permanent home, in the hopes that we will travel back and forth. Alida does say hello, Shay. She is one busy girl with much studying to do ahead of her. A few years, to say the least. She is now in Toronto visiting with family and friends and will return to Milan from there.
I am so happy to see that MF and his ‘troupe’ is still going strong. Soap aficionados certainly need this great opportunity to expound on their thoughts. I caught up while on the plane. I was so bored, I actually went back to my last comment. Some were not very nice, (I think you know what I mean), but I was so entertained by many posters. There are a handful that should go on the road as comedians.
I did not like what they did to Lulu and Dante. On the other hand, who lasts these days, on soaps or real life?
Again, Shay, I must bid you adieu. I have many people to see and I will be joining Alida in Toronto, and leave with her. I wish you the best, dear girl. I will contact you on my return. Ciao, carina. Tanti baci con tanto affetto. Fervidi auguri e un futuro prospero.

“Molte Grazie,” my dear Nonna!!!! I regret to say that, in actual fact, I did not receive the initial post you sent to me, nor did I spot it online….of course, had that been the case, I would have immediately replied! No, I simply read your other comments, and those led me to attempt to contact you, since I was so delighted to see that you had returned to our threads….albeit most temporarily, as it turns out!!!! It’s really quite difficult to believe that you’ve been gone for just a year-and-a-half, because in many ways, it has seemed an absolute age! (I still miss the treat and treasure of trading thoughts with not only you, but the irreplaceable Alida! I’m so thrilled to hear she is doing well with her studies…I knew she would, smart and lovely girl that she is!!!! Best wishes for her continued success….) Having said that, and given that you’ve not been here for the duration, I’m sure you were quite shocked by some of the nasty things that you read ….sadly, these unpleasant diatribes directed at a choice few of us have become par for the course. I’m guessing that is why your remarks to me—though undoubtedly warm and immensely civil—were not posted or forwarded….the poor moderators have been kept in a constantly vigilant mode what with all the dissention that has been promulgated by some here, and they may not have realized that you were once a regular poster with whom I had previously shared very fond and genial dealings. (By the way, I’m truly sorry for the abuse to which you were personally subjected, particularly since you were never anything less than extremely kind and gracious to that party who responded so rudely to you….as the contents of this very thread can attest!) At any rate, when I saw that my post to you wasn’t included in that current discussion, I decided to try again back here “in 2014” where the history of our amiable writings were more apparent, not to mention, there was a direct link for you which I had hoped would lead to your inbox. I’m very glad my efforts proved fruitful! (A huge thanks to the moderators for that not-so-small miracle…..) Although I’m disappointed to realize that your return to the States shall not be a permanent one, I can easily understand why you would decide to make the beautiful country of Italy your home once more….especially with Alida already living there whilst obtaining her medical education in Milan! (As an aside, I’m still watching my beloved international mysteries, and whenever there is one that takes place “in Italia,” my mind always wanders to the two of you and the wonderful times we had here at MFSoaps!) Still, I shall look forward with much anticipation to hearing from you in the future….I just wanted to make sure that I promptly replied to your thoughtful message so you would know that I did indeed receive it and relished it with great pleasure and appreciation. Once again, please do send my greetings to Alida, and let her know that neither she nor you has been forgotten…during your brief stints here at MFSoaps you both made such positive, indelible impressions and were true joys to behold! Alas, I suppose I shouldn’t keep you any longer….you are one busy “signora” with places to go and people to see, so for now, I shall also offer you a reluctant—yet affectionate—farewell. Felice anno nuovo and buon viaggio!!!! Arrivederci, mia amica!!!!

@k/kay….Thank you, kind lady and best wishes in your travels and summer fun! Glad I left you with a final laugh! As for your other observations, I agree, but also TRY (not always successfully…) to keep politics at bay when I discuss the merits (or lack thereof…) of GH because I realize that some of my besties here may not hold similar views. That being said, I will step out of my comfort zone to comment that by their own admission, the late-night kings of comedy considered not “W.” but “Bubba” to be their greatest gift ever when it came to mirthful midnight monologues….that material virtually wrote itself for those eight long years…enough said! Take care!!!!

Shay, that is it exactly. I was not veering into politics but pointing out that comediennes missed President Bush because he provided comedic fodder. The same way that you and many others might miss Sappy for the comedic fodder she provided.
That’s all.

Harry….I totally got your analogy….I was simply throwing out that “bipartisan example” because it was fresh in my mind. I had just read an excerpt from a new book about behind-the-scenes at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and that particular subject matter figured prominently into the material.

Take care and I am off the radar maybe forever my husband has asked me to shut it down! As far as politics I have always been one who no matter who is in the office of President respect the office! Peace out!

Oh please, k/kay, don’t go away forever…you would be missed!!!! I always enjoy your contributions and fearless point-of-view! Hope you (and hubby…) have a wonderful vacation, but please come back to us once your batteries are recharged!!!!

Your husband sounds a lot like mine.lol. We should vacation together. What fun! Take care.

Props to TC for being able to do this story being pregnant in real life herself but grateful that it is over and Sabrina has left the building for a while. While I was relieved for her role in Patrick’s life ridding him of the “Britch”, that relief ended long before the rush to the altar between Patrick and Sabrina. It all happened way too fast and that coupled with a propped relationship with no chemistry and knowing Robin was alive made it more difficult to bear. If there are any soap writing gods, they will let the supposed romantic relationship pf Patrina be OVER! I have always been a Patrick/Robin fan and that has not changed. I understand KMC has other interests but the way Robin left is just not believable which leads me to the feeling that as usual, there is more to the story than we know now. I cannot shake the feeling that despite her desire to help Jason (as always), her real reason for leaving was to protect Emma, Patrick or both or even to protect the unborn Gabriel which may have been threatened would be hurt or killed if she did not go. Could crazy Lisa Niles still be alive and getting back at them again and before you say she is dead, this is soap world where the zombies roam freely. Or in typical unselfish and decision making Robin fashion, did she leave to free Patrick to be able to be with Sabrina and therefore, have both of his children and not have to choose between them? Even more crazy, what if Sabrina was implanted by Dr. O with an embryo that was really Patrick/Robin’s baby and Robin had to leave to protect the baby? Before you write me off as boarding the “crazy” train let’s remember that this is the same writer who wrote a set of twins with different fathers on One Life to Live. I think Patrick needs some time alone to figure out what next with some great female friends that are just that…friends. No doubt he is angry at Robin but no question he still loves her and I hope when and if unfrozen Jason returns and Robin does not, that sends him on a little adventure to find her to bring her back (ugh, even if it means a Robin recast) to Emma, and ultimately himself when he learns the real story about her leaving. Love Patrick in Robin protective mode and willing to do whatever to protect HIS family and hope we get to see this kind of story play out.

I think there have been a few couples where we’ve suspected or knew that the presumed dead one was alive. Case in point…Jason. I think it’s safe to say that he is alive, yet there are still plenty of Silas/Sam fans. At some point we knew Nina was alive…and many of us were/are still rooting for Silas/Sam. So I’m not sure if knowing Robin was alive would be a compelling reason for people who are Sabrina fans…and we do exist! 😉

I don’t think any of the scenarios were in place during Robin’s exit…as in I think the writers felt that her love for Jason made enough sense that she couldn’t leave him to die or hang in suspended animation for eternity. I, for one, bought it. No matter the cost, unless her husband or child were deatlhy ill, she knew she was leaving them well…and would be back. I felt how maddening it would be for her to be forced (emotionally) into this heart-wrenching decision after just returning…but I believe she had no choice.

Now, for those who don’t agree…and if they bring Robin back whether it be Kimberly or another actress…I think they may go with one of the routes or some other “out” for Robin if they want to reunite the couple. It would have to be something akin to Julian…doing on the surface something so horrendous yet in the name of love.

Time will tell…

@rebecca1…Yes, I was quite aware of SK’s history of substance abuse….although I never saw the YouTube stuff, I have read of his previous escapades, plus he palled around with Robert Downey Jr. back in the day, so that pretty much tells you everything you need to know! I do believe even by his own admission that some of these problems led to his initial departure from GH and perhaps even B&B the first time around? That being said, Sean is an extremely intelligent and educated person….he attended military school and Boston College before getting into acting and later received a degree in political science from UCLA, not to mention being involved in a variety of other pursuits like the martial arts, cooking,…a real Renaissance man! (Yes, I have read his bio…LOL.) He even wrote a book on being a “sophisticated gentleman,” including entertaining tips and recipes, so maybe that love of cuisine has contributed to his perceived weight battle….although one’s metabolism can certainly be affected by addiction issues, as well. (It is never the same even after one cleans up their act.) At any rate, I have enjoyed Sean since his KarateKidII debut and often saw him in episodic tv appearances after that….if you look at his IMDb profile you will see that he is always busy with new projects and does so much more than just soaps. (He was even on the Italian version of “Dancing with the Stars!” Btw, so was Ronn Moss….I think he may have won….) I have a dear college friend who knows Sean’s parents and says they are really lovely, cultured people (patrons of the arts) and she also once met his daughter, but never the man himself, so that little bit of six degrees of separation makes me a bit more of a fan of his, too. I still really miss him as AJ, but I’m glad he had “Deacon Sharpe” to reprise….it’s a much higher profile role due to B&B’s international exposure. Apparently, he is already asserting his dominance in his latest return, and this is creating diva wars with some of the other male stars of the show…ha, I love it!!!! He is also purported to be quite outspoken, which I greatly admire….gee, I wonder why?????? ; ) On the subject of our own passions and backgrounds, I’ve had eclectic tastes for all of my life, and although I am currently hanging in with GH–more out of nostalgia than anything else–I don’t think I represent the typical soap fan and obviously neither do you! (We expect a lot from our entertainment options, and most of my precious little tv viewing these days consists of PBS and their foreign-based offshoots….I watch almost no domestic programs anymore!) I think that’s why I so enjoy posting and conversing with other GH viewers here….there are a number of truly bright and informed people who visit here…quite a cut-above collection/microcosm we are, wouldn’t you say?????

I am waiting for the reunion of Patrick ( Jason Thompson ) and Sabrina ( Teresa Castillo ) I love them together and Patrina are the only reason I watch GH!

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Brook Lynn and Chase Have Their Bachelor and Bachelorette Parties

On General Hospital, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) both were treated to Bachelorette and Bachelor parties to shake off any of those pre-wedding jitters. At The Savoy, the ladies have a touching and fun time with Brook Lynn.

The bride-to-be gives a speech to thank everyone for coming, while Lois lets everyone know to try the signature cocktail the “Brooklynn Chaser”, which gets everybody eventually and mostly, drunk.

When Tracy (Jane Elliot) questions Lois (Rena Sofer) as to why there is no music for the party, Lois realizes she forgot, and somehow, who does she call to the rescue? Spinelli (Bradford Anderson)! Saving the day, he winds up playing some tunes and later gets on the dance floor to ‘shake it off’ with the gals.

Lois makes a speech as the mother of the bride, and shares how proud she is of the woman Brook Lynn has become. Wedding games begin, including one of “hot potato” with a wedding bouquet.

When it’s time for the “Silly Poses” section of the party, Spinelli has now morphed from DJ to staff photographer taking memorable photos of the ladies to remember the evening by.

The best part of the event, was when Brook Lynn tries to get her grandmother Tracy out on the dance floor, which, at first, she refuses. After several of the guests bust a move, a tipsy Tracy joins the dance party after Joss mentions that if her grandmother Bobbie was here, she would dance. Tracy says “she agrees” and begins to cut a rug on the floor, much to the delight of the other women.

In the final moments, a tipsy Joss and Kristina (Kate Mansi) have a confrontation about Sonny, and Joss lets Kristina in more on Sonny’s behavior, which looks to have clued in Kristina a bit more as to how something is way off about her dad.

Across town at the Hatchett Bar, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and the men with the exception of Anna (Finola Hughes) and Jordan (Tanisha Harper), all attend Chase’s Bachelor Party where throwing hatchets into a dart board for supremacy is the order of the day. Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Ned (Wally Kurth) get into some words over ELQ, while Dante makes a toast to his police partner, Chase.

Photo: ABC

Suddenly Dex (Evan Hofer) shows up. Chase thanks Dex for coming, but Dex gets some dirty looks from other cops on the force. Dante gives Chase his present, which is a signed baseball by the Boston Red Sox.

Ned (Wally Kurth) makes a speech that although no one is good enough for his daughter, Brook Lynn, Chase has come closer than anyone has, so welcome to the family. Running in at the end is Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), who just left Brook Lynn’s party, and she toasts her singing partner, Chase, and to the great man that he is.

Cameron Mathison Previews New Game Show ‘Beat The Bridge’ (Promo)

As previously reported, Cameron Mathison (Drew, General Hospital) will be seen doing double duty this summer when he premieres in June as the host of Game Show Network’s Beat The Bridge.

Now, while Cameron will be the host with the most, that doesn’t mean he will stop playing GH’s Drew.  In fact, Mathison taped the game show in 2023, so it will now air for the first time in 2024.

Taking to his Instagram this week, Cameron shared his enthusiasm and some new hosting snaps, sharing, “Our newest game show host reporting for duty😎 Head over to the Game Show Network YouTube channel for your first look at the show and don’t miss Beat The Bridge premiering this June! I can’t wait for you guys to see this!”

Photo: GSN

In Beat The Bridge, an enormous interactive bridge dares players to cross by stepping on the right answers to challenging trivia questions. As they play, each steps forward and puts money in their team’s bank, with bonus money for each successful crossing. Here’s the catch: the team gets to keep the money only if it can “beat the bridge” by returning one of its players back across before time expires.

Meanwhile, on GH, Drew and Nina (Cynthia Watros) recently had hate-sex. Do you think its a one-time deal? Where will Drew’s story take him next under new head writers, Patrick Mulcahey and Elizabeth Korte? Stay tuned.

Now below, check out the first promo for Beat The Bridge from the Game Show Network with you host, Cameron Mathison.  Then, let us know, will you be checking out the game this summer? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nina Confronts Ava for Sabotaging Her Relationship With Sonny and Signs the Divorce Papers

Looks like Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Ava (Maura West) are back to be each other’s sworn enemy number one. By the end of the Monday, April 22nd episode of General Hospital, the women know where they stand with each other after Nina goes in on Ava accusing her of wanting Sonny (Maurice Benard) all to herself, while her marriage has been on the rocks.

In story, at Nina’s office, Ava shows up to see Nina and says she is sorry about what happened with Sonny and that he reacted the way he did, acknowledging that is was over the top, even for Sonny. Ava says she’ll smooth things over, but Nina says she now understands how manipulative and transparent Ava really is.

Given their horrible history, Nina goes in on Ava and how she should never have trusted her. Nina wants to know how long has Ava had this agenda dating all the way back to telling Nina to turn Carly (Laura Wright) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) into the SEC. Ava says she never told her do to that, but Nina wants to know how long Ava has been playing her for a fool.

Ava says she moved in with Sonny to keep Avery safe and she wants to be on good terms with Avery’s father, Sonny. Nina thinks she likes being in Sonny’s inner circle. Ava tells Nina if she goes to him about her advising Nina to call the SEC on Carly and Drew, it won’t work.  Sonny still considers Nina a traitor and he will think she’s lying because she’s so desperate to win him back. Ava says if Nina would stop blaming everyone else that maybe Sonny would respect her.  Nina says “like he does you?” Ava says Sonny not only respects her, but he also counts on her.

From there, Ava launches into why she and Sonny understand each other, after all, Sonny is a powerful, turbulent, and sometimes violent man. She goes so far to say if Nina wanted someone to just sit by the fire with and play with their grandchildren, she’s got the wrong guy.  Ava then talks about Mike from Nixon Falls (Sonny with amnesia) and how Sonny hid the darkest parts of himself from Nina back then, whereas with Ava they are the same similar creatures, so he doesn’t have to hide anything.

Nina wants to know just what Ava wants with Sonny? What is her end game? Ava responds that they understand each other, in ways she can’t with Sonny. Nina tells Ava she can go ahead and have it all and signs Sonny’s divorce papers. Ava walks out with the documents, while Nina in tears at her desk, takes off her wedding rings and has her assistant come in so she can messenger the rings back to Sonny’s address.

The episode and these scenes featured great performances by Cynthia Watros and Maura West. You can check some of the scenes below.

Now, let us know, what is Ava’s next move? Is she going to become Mrs. Sonny Corinthos? Do you like Ava and Nina as enemies? Comment below.
