GENERAL HOSPITAL: Patrick Is Devastated Over Emma's Near Kidnapping & Sam, Meanwhile Elizabeth & Sam Both Try to Mark Their Territory With Jason!

Monday’s episode of General Hospital provided many stellar two-person scenes and plenty of drama.  First, Sam (Kelly Monaco), is reeeling after having kissed and trying to jog her husband Jason’s (Billy Miller) memory after he visited her at the Drake house.  Later, she comes clean with her fiancé Patrick (Jason Thompson) about Jason’s visit.  When Patrick tries to cope and figure out what Sam was hoping for; was she hoping by kissing Jason that he would recall their lives together, Sam is conflicted and tries her best to answer the difficult question.  Clearly, Patrick knows that things just took a major nosedive in their relationship.

Next, Patrick is blindsided by a urgent phone call from Tracy (Jane Elliot), who stumbled upon a horrifying scene in the park.  Emma was about to be kidnapped by some woman who is clearly working for the people (Helena?) that are holding Robin (Kimberly McCullough) hostage in a lab/room somewhere, while she works on some mysterious medical cure.  Is it for Helena?  (Remember Nikolas’ (Tyler Christopher) claim to Jason within this episode? Could that be another lie, or the truth?) Robin from afar is watching the harrowing circumstance as her daughter fends over her kidnapper! When Patrick happens on the scene in the park, Emma is in tears, afraid, and upset.  Patrick is devastated.  Emma is also upset to learn that she may now lose another mommy since Sam and Patrick’s relationship might have just tanked, and she already had Robin leave her, too.  The scenes were played to perfection by Jason Thompson and Brookly Rae Silzer.   When Thompson leaves GH, this will be a major duo whose on-screen magic will not be captured or repeated again, and that is heartbreaking to think about.  Jason and Brooklyn portray the best father/daughter duo on daytime drama, period.

And in the first round of showdowns between Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst)  and Sam, the woman are both clearly letting each other know where they stand.  Elizabeth is trying to ensure that Sam will not push Jason to try to remember and let him be.  Of course, Sam does not know Liz has been conspiring for months and keeping her from her husband.  Liz stands firm that Jason is in love with her now.  Sam snaps back and let’s her clearly know that Jason is her husband,  and she is not going to let it go.  She wants Jason to rememember who he is, and then let him decide on an even playing field, if he loves Liz … or Sam?  This was also a very solid scene delivered by Rebecca Herbst and Kelly Monaco.

And then there was CarSon:  Maurice Benard (Sonny) and Laura Wright (Carly).  Sonny is now pushing Carly further and further away, and lashing out at her.  He is upset with her still for missing the custody trial for baby Avery, even though she brought Jason back to him in the process, and did not know about the moved up court date.  When Carly tries to have rails installed in the Corinthos house to assist Sonny to get around via his wheelchair, he is not having it.  Clearly, Ava’s  (Maura West) dispicable words to Sonny in the courthouse about him being less of a man has gotten to the mob boss.  As always, the CarSon scenes were nicely played by this dynamic duo.

So, what did you think about the scenes between Patrick and Emma? Sam and Elizabeth? Carly and Sonny?  Do you think Patrick and Sam are over and done for good?  Will you miss Jason Thompson’s scenes with Brooklyn? Who are you rooting for Jason to end up with … Elizabeth, or his wife Sam?  Share your thoughts on yesterday’s episode below!

Emma and Patrick were nothing short of amazing! Those tears were REAL! Their scenes made ME cry. BrookLynn is a good little actress, like her “mom” Kimberly was. I hope they never SORAS her, let her grow up on the show like Robin. She and Nicholas Bechtel will be quite the power couple one day! lol .. now as for Liz and Sam .. oh brother, they are really going to great lengths to make Liz the bad guy in this melodrama. Why don’t they just give her a mustache to twirl? I was never a big Jasammer or Liasonite, but if you give me a choice between Liz and Sam, I’ll choose Liz every time. Team Liz!

I totally agree that Jason Thompson and Brooklyn Rae Silzer have amazing chemistry! That said, I seriously doubt if she will be kept on the show once Jason Thompson leaves. There is not much incentive to recast his part, and with Kim temporarily returning, it is likely that the family will leave together. Supposedly, that was what was going to happen when Robin first returned, but Jason decided last minute to re-sign. Also, with Jossalyn being SORAS’s and Nicholas Bechtel getting a role on a Disney show, it makes sense for them to SORAS Spencer (Cam too, finally) in the near future.

That’s the one sour note in the Patrick-Emma storyline – viewers will not be able to see any more of BrookLynn Rae Silzer. She’s been amazing as Emma, and it’s too bad the career decisions of two older actors should impact her future on GH. I don’t want the character SORAS’d only to be stuck watching a generic teen actor. I’m sure BRS could find work anywhere, including primetime. But, she more than holds her own against the adult actors. She’s a rare find, and I’ll miss seeng her.

Patrick and Emma will most liking leave PC with JT leaving his role…they and Robin will probably reunite and Anna will help them go into hiding…i dont know about Sam-KM acts like she is in a coma…Liz?-she is ok…JasSonny-now there is a couple meant for each other…lol

LOL, there are a lot of fans who would cheer if Jason & Sonny ended up together

Maddiehayes I couldn’t agree with you more , love little Emma and no soras and I’m team Liz no matter how bad they try making her.

I cannot add more to what y’all say about this amazing little actress. Suffice to say, she is truly a gifted actress. Yes, those tears were real.
I had read somewhere that little Emma will be living with Anna. This is just a rumor of course, but I hope it’s true.
I think Anna and Emma are things of beauty together.

Liz has got to be the most boring and annoying character on this show. The fact that she has been lying to the man she loves for months is disgusting. She also lied to her son Lil Jake recently just to hold on to Jake. How desperate she must be! It is absolutely pathetic! The fact that anyone can do that to a child just to hold onto a man should be shot!. Sam always loved Jason for who he was, she never tried to change him like Liz did. And Liz is still doing it by making sure he does not remember who he is and trying to manipulate him into becoming the man she wants. She has no integrity and I am astounded how anyone can root for this character.

I agree, tatiana. Furthermore, I cannot believe the PTB are giving the impression of writing this character as partnering with Sam in the search for Jason. Since when has Liz become so adventurous? I find it so silly and obvious. Liz is afraid that once Sam finds Jason, the inevitable will happen. Both of these women are being written as men-chasing scatterbrained. What mother leaves her kids for such a venture? Leave the guy alone and let him do what he feels he must! Just sayin’.

I’m not going to get into a Liz vs. Sam debate, everybody has their own reasons for liking one or the other. I rooted for Liz & Jason way back when she first rescued him in the snow, and I was disappointed when Steve Burton returned and, instead of Liz, he married Courtney and then got involved with Sam, who I really didn’t like from day one. I really stopped caring after that. I’m not a fan of the mob, and I’ve always wanted Jason to remember who he REALLY is. But it never happened. Now I’m hoping he will remember, not only being Jason Morgan, but also being Jason Quartermaine. Yes, Liz will pay for lying, but I haven’t forgotten that she and Jason were already in love BEFORE she found out the truth and decided to lie. This whole thing is just a blatant attempt at making Liz look bad. She was never so desperate to hold on to Jason before, ever, until Ron Carlivati started writing for her.

I agree they are writing both these women as being stupid and desperate. Leave him be to figure things out already! In reply to maddie, they actually weren’t in love yet when she found out and decided to lie. It was at the Nurse’s Ball where she found out that Ric was lying to her and she found out about Jason. Previously to that, they were drawn to each other and only shared one kiss. The same way he was drawn to Sam when he couldn’t kill her and remembered kissing her. I am not necessarily in the Sam camp either but Liz did not give Jake/Jason a chance to honestly make a choice by giving him all the facts.

You can’t say Jake was JUST as drawn to Sam as he was to Elizabeth. He thought of Sam as a friend. He was crazy, WILD about Elizabeth! He was like a lost little puppy dog when Ric returned and he had to watch Liz be with him. Then when she finally dumped Ric, and they shared their first “date” and their first kiss, the whole Hayden thing happened. It was KILLING him not to be with Liz! “I’ve memorized your entire face”. The romantic things he would say to her! This was all before the lie started. Interestingly, yesterday Spinelli pointed out that Jake’s instincts were to fall in love with Elizabeth and be friends with Sam and Carly. Makes me wonder where this story is going .. hmmm ..

I didn’t say just as drawn but you can’t deny that he was drawn to Sam but she was already with Patrick when he came back. She wasn’t available but Liz was and she helped him after his accident and his memory loss. It makes sense that he would fall in love with his savior. It doesn’t really mean anything as far as who he “should” and will be with in the long run. I can’t really comment on the romantic things he said to Liz because I had/have a hard time watching Jake and Elizabeth. They have zero chemistry and her constant need, whining and manipulations make her almost impossible to watch. I do think Jason has more chemistry with Sam but that’s just my opinion. I think you may be right and Jason and Liz may end up together. Another story line I will have to FF…..

I have to admit, when Jason first returned as Jake, I was surprised at his connection with Liz. I figured he would bond with Sam & Danny! Why Carlivati chose to go this route, I don’t know, because it’s very frustrating! Jake was just SO romantic with Liz, they won me over. Even though I KNEW he was gonna end up with Sam. Especially when Liz decided to keep his identity a secret. That just ruined it. But then they brought back little Jake! Why did they do that if he and Liz are over?! And OMG he is SO in love with her, it’s hard to imagine he would fall out of love just because of this. Liz isn’t as bad as Nicholas! So I don’t think it’s a “done deal” that he’s gonna end up with Sam. I think he’ll be mad at Liz and turn to Sam, but that’s not the end of the story. IMHO

yes great scenes! We need to know the full story of what Robin is doing and who is holding her now. Like Jake’s story, this has gone on far too long. What about the hints that Jake really isn’t Jason? Where is Jake/Jason going on that motorcycle? Adding the twist that Jake may not be Jason after all the whoop-de-doo–not sure how I feel about that? It would turn it into an endless story that never gets resolved.

makes no sense why Robin is still being held captive. Wasn’t Victor holding her? he’s dead so what’s the point of this story? needs to end, no one cares.

Anne,

I read somewhere that Billy Miller may not being staying, so maybe that has something to do with it? Love for him to go back to Y&R and Jason T to go to DOOL as EJ

Billy will not go back to Y&R with Jill being the EP. Plus, Mr. Miller is ready to break out and become a star! Once GH is up I think he goes primetime!

The acting and storylines on gh have done a 180 for the better. You have people bawling right along with Sam. Emma is breaking my gh loving heart. Here’s the problem GH has gold right now. They need to out Liz. They have the ratings going up! for months we have watched this woman destroy everyone with her lies including little Emma. So consequences. Liz needs to pay not only from Sam. And the these writers know how to write consequences hello Sharon on y and r. Still in a coffin not even bi polar can redeem her. The affect of lying needs to come from everyone onto Liz Laura and Nicholas. I’m a gambling girl after the kiss I’m betting Mrs Sam Morgan will win it. Dealing with new face equals jasam angst. The jasam fans have waited and waited and waited. The jasam song is played and twitter goes nuts, the jasam kiss is on twitter goes nuts. So GH needs to stop and think u want ratings give the fans the truth and the jasam loving, isn’t there an empty penthouse???

Liason fans will refuse to link Liz to Emma’s pain until Patrick has a chance to articulate it directly to her face. How could Liz hide the truth & allow the charade to continue knowing that Sam could never be Emma’s mother if she discovered Jason was alive? Of course, Liz’s self-serving defense will be that her lies were better because it gave him & Sam a chance to “move on.” But, Patrick has experience with that from the other end

I like the way Sam is playing this. Bottom line, he husband is alive, Liz, watch out and Patrick, sorry but crap happens! Not fair to Patrick but if this brings him and Robin back together and gives Emma HER family unit, so be it. Send them off and lets see what happens down the road. I like all three but with Robin gone so much, it just didnt make sense. BTW, Patrick should NEVER leave Emma with Spenser again! His family are nuts and the limo driver needs his azz whipped for leaving a little kid alone in the park!

The bit with Spencer leaving Emma alone was ridiculous….unless it’s been Nikolas all along who is keeping Robin, & arranged to have Chandler pull Spencer away & set up Emma. Some say that would be too dark for Nikolas. But, isn’t he the guy who put out a hit on his lover? Threatening to abduct a child isn’t that far from arranging for Hayden’s head to be blown off.

Great theory about Nick having Chandler leave on purpose. Nick may be taking over for Helena? I cannot imagine Nick doing this to Robin but Nick might just be embracing his heritage and playing the male role of uncle Stephan?

TERRIFIC ACTING BY SOME GREAT ACTORS…BEST SHOW ON THE AIR..EVERYONE TUNE IN TO SEE A SUPER SHOW RIGHT NOW…

AWESOME,,,, Episode!!!! :):):):):):):):)

Did anyone else notice that the episode was directed by Allison Sweeney? I think that’s the 3rd GH episode she’s done.

Lovely show. I can’t wait for the character of Elizabeth to get blown out of the water. Jason belongs with Sam.

I hope Sam ends up devastated, and left out in the cold (I don’t like her ..lol
I wish Liz would slap Sam up against the wall to stop her sniveling, cat fight!
Jason and Sonny will always be, they are a love story. Deeply bonded never to part.
Jason will, at first, play with the Q’s for revenge on Nicolas, and be a bit torn between Jason M and Jason Q but he will without a doubt be back home with Sonny..
Patrick and Emma are gold, sad to see them end- soon over/ both gone.

I’m looking forward to Jason & Sonny reuniting!!
Nikolas and Jason facing off..
And, Looking forward to seeing Helena, again..

Rumor at ABC was they wanted to put Tristan Rogers back on contract but couldnt afford to because of Kelly Monaco’s spray tanning costs!

Like Kansas Guest, I have no dogs in this fight. However, Lizzy is acting beyond obnoxious.
That said, when Sam ordered Lizzy out of “her” house, I was so hoping Lizzy would have countered back, “You mean, Robin’s house?”
See, Robin would never have left her family willfully if not for the possibility of saving Sam’s husband.

I’m not “team” anything. But, I want *both* Nikolas & Elizabeth to get their comeuppance.

You bet!

Boo hoo Patrick is upset because Sam kissed Jason– at least she had the decency not to kiss him in front of him, unlike Patrick who kissed Robin when she came back with his bride to be standing right there. That said, those scenes in the park were very good, and I will miss those genuine father daughter moments, because most of the other children in town are not even noticed by their parents.

GH is awesome right now! I look forward to it each day! I am sad that Patrick is leaving the show but i hope it is a sweet send off with him and Emma going to Robin and living “happily ever after” 🙂 Patrick and Emma have the best father daughter connection and it is so real to watch. He is great with her.

I can’t wait to see how Elizabeth deals with Sam and Jason finding their way back together. Elizabeth has been playing this really well, but as we all know, its only a matter of time. She will be left alone, while Nicholas and Hayden move on doing their thing…

On Monday, Jason rode off to fine more info about himself. Therefore, he will run into Robin who will help him remember who he is and who took his memory away and why!!! They will ride back together to Port Charles to his wife Sam. He will find out about how Elizabeth knew who he was from the beginning and decided selfishly to keep him in the dark….. Patrick, Robin and Emma will leave and become residents somewhere in Europe. In as much as, Elizabeth think Jason is happy with her he is not. Jason was happy with Sam and there life style which means the mob wheather people like it or not. Jason enjoyed his life as an enforcer and his wife who always on his side. She never tried to change Jason or confine him to home like Elizabeth. Maybe Elizabeth should try Nichlos again.

I love Jason Thompson…. I do not blame him for leaving…he has had no story line and to be stuck with Kelly M adds insult to injury…

I WISH he was going to DOOL and the new EJ….

Best to make Liz the bad guy for awhile and Sam the saint.

It seems not to really work the other way around. Liz was never developed when she was trying to be a good girl. All roads lead to Sam and Jason. Break Liz in two and then rebuild her…better and stronger.

These incredibly tender moments between Jason and Brooklyn R especially touching….
Seems to me Nicolas has more too hide than meets the eye.
Elizabeth’s desperation is showing, if she isn’t careful Sam & Carly will start to notice.
Jason should stay away for a few more days, it may just be the push Elizabeth needs
to come clean…her day of reckoning is around the corner.

I think those father and daughter tears were so very genuine, Fanny. They are both aware of Jason’s/Patrick’s impending exit and possibly Emma’s, as well….so, it will be such a sad moment for them; they’ve been working together how long? For a while, I take it? Bonne nuit, ma belle amie.

Again, and still throughout countless regimes, Sonny remains an abusive, violent, self pitying crybaby who only cares about himself. I have never, and will never, get the appeal of this character. If a woman looked like Laura Wright/Carly, and had the fierce attitude of Carly, that would be the day she would put up with that crap. Does she, or ANYONE in the audience or on the writing team, remember that 2 short years ago, Sonny threatened to have her murdered?? Now there’s romantic foreplay for you! It is disgusting and disturbing to watch. Sonny deserves to be alone and miserable!

Thank you Aden–my sentiments exactly!

And here I thought I was the only one having these disgusting feelings toward Sonny!!!! Just a little sarcasm. It is very disturbing how TPTB sew frills and lace to Sonny’s demonic deeds and lifestyle.
Well, Aden? I want to kiss you for ‘vomiting’ all over Sonny.

So right you are, Aden! I hope this endless slobbering over SonnyBoy soon comes to an end, although I am not at all expecting it. On the contrary, we just may be treated to “It’s A Wonderful (Corinthos) Life” for Christmas, given the writers’ tendency to lionize this loathsome character!

ICAM, can’t STAND Sonny

I only saw the part with Emma and the stranger danger. great job teaching a child to fight if someone tries to grab them . Liz and Sam both have their fans. why not send them to find Jason and have Faison really finish the job he started. Kill him for real , in front of these two and no more fighting over him. a murdering killer loved and wanted by these two mothers. ??? While Faison is at it, he could also take out Sonny. Maybe then I WOULD WATCH AGAIN.

The past two weeks on GH has been loaded with great performances.

Wright, Benard, West, Hughes, Miller, Monaco, Herbst, Thompson, and Brooklyn have been excellent.

Honestly, that scene with Ava and Sonny in the courtroom where she was baiting him into threatening her, was quite possibly the scene of the year on any soap. The person who wrote West’s dialog for that scene should get a raise but my god West was brought the words to life with a incredible performance.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

Published

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

Published

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do?
