GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: How Will Sonny Cover-Up Shooting Cates?
This week on General Hospital, look for the fallout from Sonny (Maurice Benard) shooting and apparently killing John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington). And, if you recall, Kristina (Kate Mansi) is now armed with a gun, and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) also had threatened Cates. Then, leave it to Jason (Steve Burton) who will have to help Sonny cover-up the death of Cates.
In addition, and as previously reported, Emma Samms returns this week as Holly Sutton, and will be tied to Lucky’s (Jonathan Jackson) story on the canvas. Meanwhile, Ric (Rick Hearst) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) who have a complicated history, and that’s putting it mildly, will share scenes.
But what about Ava (Maura West), Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) and Agent Boyle? What will be the upshot of a seeming car crash? Is Isaiah hurt? Will Ava get away from Boyle? Stay tuned.

Before all-new episodes begin the Monday, September 2nd Labor Day episode will be an encore presentation of the August 1st episode. It features Kristina on the warpath in a confrontation with Ava, which leads to disastrous consequences, when Kristina falls through the window and ultimately loses her baby.

Holly returns! Drew confides in Curtis. Ava gets a surprising assist. Kristina turns to Michael. Sonny and Carly strategize.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 5
Sonny is alarmed. Alexis confers with Diane. Nina is determined. Trina advises Josslyn. TJ has a heart-to-heart with Ric.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
Sonny gives Jason a critical task. Lois is full of surprises. Josslyn blasts Carly. Anna issues a warning. Elizabeth is dubious.

I totally agree with you. His character is a bitter man who is jealous because Sonny helped his brother Stone when he couldn’t..
Yep. as my friend & neighbor Dr Freud would say, it’s a classic case of projection. Jagger was throwing his own guilt over how he treated Karen & Stone and projecting it all to Sonny.
To be clear, Sonny did some bad things with Karen when he was originally written as a disposable 13 week character. But when they changed him into the permanent Sonny, he actually helped Karen get on the better path which led her to become a doctor and a much happier life. Until Jagger cheated on her, that is.
And Karen’s eventual death was because of a random hit and run driver. Had nothing to do with Sonny or any mob dealings. The “Port Charles” spinoff didn’t air down here in Hell, but considering how weird that show got in the end, odds are the random driver was probably a vampire or whatever.
Speaking of spinoffs though…. last time we saw real Jagger was on the “Night Shift” spinoff, and though he never interacted with Sonny on that show, he did spend a lot of time with Robin, and I don’t recall any of this supposed anger at Sonny being mentioned then. So yeah, this has totally been a case of revisionist history with this ill-fated recast.
These stories are all so ridiculous, I don’t care anymore if I see it or not. Things seem so messed up, I don’t see any resolutions. Bringing back old characters with no story line seems to be the demise of GH. We’ll soon be seeing another hour long news program in it’s place.
My Sonny will find the way.

Cameron always plays those roles where he appears to be irresistible (wrong) think about All My Children. He went through just about every woman in Pine Valley!!! He disgust me and I always figured Ms Angelic Willow was never that goody goody!! She’s also not that good of an actress!! I FEEL For first he didn’t know he had a child, now THIS!!!

I hate what they did with the character Cates..and a big part of me is hoping that he”s not killed off.. what a waste of a good actor and one that’s easy on the eyes. I love Sonny but I am so sick and tired of that family that seems to get away with just about anything. I love Carly but I am tired of seeing her. The storyline around Sonny/Carly and Jason is so played out. I love them but we need to see something new…… possibly some accountability that sticks.
In my opinion, they could have done some better writing around the character Cates .

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 6
Sonny makes a stunning announcement. Serena makes her move. Willow faces a new threat. Isaiah takes the stand. Lucy questions Laura.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

General Hospital Fan Club Weekend brought out many of your favorites to the four day event; with the main cast gathering on Saturday, August 1. Fans near and far attended the weekend held this year at the Burbank Marriott Hotel. Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
