Emma Samms General Hospital Return Date as Holly Sutton Announced
This week’s birthday girl, Emma Samms, is heading back on-screen to General Hospital sooner than you may think.
With Lucky’s (Jonathan Jackson) storyline of being trapped in Africa in a refugee camp, look for Holly Sutton to be tied into the story starting next when Samms makes another return to GH starting on the Wednesday, September 4th episode of the ABC daytime drama series.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, August 28th, Emma celebrated her birthday and shared on social media all the love showered upon her by her fans when bouquets of flowers and more were sent to her while at work. Samms expressed, “Oh, my goodness. I’m overwhelmed by the flowers and gifts waiting for me in my General Hospital dressing room! Thank you!”

The character of Holly Sutton was last seen on the GH canvas back in 2023. Emma first appeared as Holly back in 1982 and exited in 1985. She then became Fallon Carrington on primetime’s Dynasty and The Colbys but eventually returned to GH another run from 1992-93. Since that time, she has made appearances and recurred in 2006, 2009, 2012-13, 2015, 2020 and 2022-23.

Emma’s return along with Jonathan Jackson and Rick Heart (Ric Lansing) are longtime fan favorites brought back on to the canvas and GH sets its latest creative direction for the show under the latest co-head writing regime of Chris Van Etten and Elizabeth Korte.

I’m not a fan of Holly.
I hope these returns are substantial and long term. I tire of ins and outs. I’d like to see the show tie up lingering loose end with actors and characters as it more forward.
Lucky is back to stay. Holly’s probably only doing another short visit. Ric? Might be somewhere in between. Aside from the Molly storyline, he might be picking up some lawyer related storylines that were originally written for Scotty Baldwin, like Psycho Heather’s impending lawsuit against the bad hip manufacturers. I seem to remember Kin Shriner having some sort of surgery, so he might have taken some time off to deal with that.
Not impressed. He killed off another baby, he’s killing off Sam, he seems to have killed off Jagger. I’m waiting to see what fatal disease he has planned next and who his latest victim will be as he continues to cut legacy characters and/or popular, newer ones.
As for Rick? Love having him back but I’m pretty sure it’ll be for a short stay since the actor lives in NJ. Emma Samms lives in the UK so she’ll only be on briefly, too. How long will Jonathan Jackson will stay? We still don’t know why (when he was head writer prior to his brief firing and return) Marcus Coloma was let go and now we’re getting a new Lulu. Why?????
It’s not hard to figure out why either Coloma or Ryland was let go. For the latter, the character of Lulu was a part of the active canvas since she was born on screen in the mid 90s. The character got stale and needed a break. Interesting to see where this goes with a dynamic actress turning Lulu into a major character and not a “talk to”.
The Jagger return was poorly scripted since the start. Too bad for Harrington as he’s a good actor. The Jason return was lackluster and who knows what they have planned for him going forward.
Jackson is on contract, so hopefully that’s a couple of years.
Interested to find out why Holly is suddenly back in the midst of this Agent Cates mess.
Is Holly perhaps the boss bankrolling the designer purse-carrying FBI Agent that wad of cash who has Ava held hostage?
umm whaat show are u watching? never read anyone be so off storylines, Why would Holly want revenge on Sonny and company? its already been established that holly will be back and will have something to do with Lucky, which makes more sense since she knows the family well she’s also work on the side for the WSB. She lives abroad and like Lucky hustles for a living .
And is the mother of yet an other of Lulu’s brothers…. not yet mentioned in this storyline.
Ethan isn’t a Spencer he’s a Scorpio Roberts son NOT Lukes.

Sorry not flipping over lucky being back, yes I know he’s Luke and Laura son, but lucky to me was always to self righteous and god help us they want to make him Luke 2.0, what does lucky have to be proud of? he abandoned his family, and well lets see what they do with him now again, as for Rick being back, wow liz will have two ex husband around the same time. As for Holly, I’ll take Emma Samms guest visits drop ins anytime. Upset about Kelly Monoco getting let go, hope the fans can make the network change its mind, oh and I have a question? granted Tracy is family to Lulu and is paying for her medical needs and we know medical bills are ridiculous, why isn’t Lulu Billionaire brother Nikolas helping with the bill? I guess technically it really doesn’t matter because Lulu sure has plenty of rich family with her brother or stepmom or even ex father in law Sonny.
Don’t kill off Cates. He’s got a good storyline on GH as the villainous FBI agent. His storyline should definitely be ongoing as both the antagonist and the protagonist. He’s fun to watch!! I saw Sonny shoot him Friday, save his life!!
Did Jagger have a hip replacement we’re unaware of? If not, I don’t see a way to redeem this character. His sole purpose is to destroy Sonny. Sooner or later they were going to have to have a show down because that is his entire reason for existence. Did you think Sonny was going to lose? Of course not. They either conceived Jagger as a way to bring back the pre-Nixon Falls Sonny or they wrote the character into a corner by making him one-dimensional. Either way, he had to go.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
