Coming off of one of the most explosive Nurses Ball’s in recent memory (and without any physical explosives), General Hospital is seeing some of its best performances in the ratings in a very long time for the week of June 2-6.

With two huge umbrella stories reaching their boiling point sincluding: Gio (Giovanni Mazza) learning he was really Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) son, and Michael returning unannounced to the ball to the shock of Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Drew (Cameron Mathison), and swopping up his son, Wiley. In addition, the new Michael debuted in the form of Rory Gibson taking over the role from his predecessor Chad Duell.

Last week, Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) took to the witness stand in the child custody trial of ‘Willow vs. Michael’ and admitted, Michael was the father of her unborn baby, then gave birth to her little girl right there on the courtroom floor and more.

According to SON, General Hospital had its best ratings performance in total viewers in 15 weeks, averaging 1.964 million viewers. The last time, the ABC soap opera had those numbers was the week of February 17-21 of this year. In addition, GH showed growth and gains up +26,000 total viewers in a year-over-year comparison from 2024. GH also performed well in key demos with increases in the key Women 18-49, and 25-54 demos. GH also was slightly ahead of Beyond the Gates in the Women 18-49 demo.

But that’s not all! Also first reported by SON, GH topped the Hulu 15 charts four days for the week of June 2-6. The ABC soap opera ranked No. 1 on Hulu’s Top 15 Series Today list beating out shows such as Nine Perfect Strangers, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and The Handmaid’s Tale  among others titles.

The drama in Port Charles saw the soap opera reach the number one position on the Hulu chart on: Tuesday June 4, Wednesday, June 4, Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7.

So, is GH finally on a roll? Can it build on its momentum with its current storylines that have had viewers tuning-in? Share your thoughts and theories on the ABC daytime drama series latest ratings, and if you think the show is currently firing on all cylinders via the comment section below.

Yes, the show’s rapid pace and storyline resolutions since mid-May are good reasons for the ratings to increase.

As for Hulu, while the rankings are nice to see, keep in mind that all the top primetime series are on summer hiatus, so there’s less competition. Lapsed viewers may be returning since there’s less new programming being offered.

Ugh, anyone watching and supporting GH right now essentially is rooting like crazy for petty, vindictive, smug, egocentric, played-out hack Frank Valentini to get a multi-year contract extension as EP/showrunner.

Hard pass, no thanks.

petty vindictive smug, sign me up.!!!!

“Well, nobody’s perfect.” Osgood Fielding.

Sign me up.I can’t afford nothing but network right now.I’m on retirement and can’t get out, maybe 2 times a month ,for Dr and groceries. I have great memories of watching G.H. for Mom while she worked. But enough old folks rambling. Would you please bring these back?

Well, I knew that Rory would be a great recast in the role of Michael, it seems that he is a fantastic recast, for he fits right in, and I don’t even remember Chad in the role. Rory is providing a subtle depth to the role that has been missing for quite some time. I do hope that he and Sasha are now able to have their own romantic relationship with Daisy’s paternity reveal in court, and I oh so hope that Willow finds out about Drew’s betrayal of preventing her from being able to visit Michael at the german clinic, resulting in her selfish “why can’t I have both Drew and my kids” finding herself all alone, do some significant soul searching, and come out on the other side as a much kinder and stronger person that is bearable to watch on screen.

Nah! This was the perfect storm, with long-awaited climaxes of a few major storylines, terrific performances from the ensemble cast, and better-than-usual writing. The way the Gio storyline unraveled was spellbinding, with several consecutive episodes ending with true cliffhangers as each character involved would confront each other for the first time since the reveal. GH was truly must-see-TV, but by the genre’s very nature, it won’t be able to be maintained.

Great news for GH and soaps in general, Days and GH seem to be at the top of their streaming platform!!! Kudos to drawing attention.
I must say always considered jumping on the GH bandwagon but I ve never viewed but am familiar with the characters and stories. Especially since it seems something s always going on in comparison for instance to The Young Restless inwhich nothing accept characters for a whole month just chatting about Alexander Dumas!!! If u missed GH this month I guess u missed alot but if you missed Y n R you didn’t miss a thing. Zilch. Nada.
We ll even take Ron Carlivatti once he’s ready to headwrite after BTG

Giovanni Mazza’s facial expressions are very good. He can take his beautiful smile to a harsh disappointment with such ease. He is amazing to watch. Hope he stays with the show for a good run and fully develops Gio Quartermaine.

Very happy GH is showing good ratings.

Yes Gio is a great actor. Hope he has a super long time on G. H.

One or two good weeks is supposed to completely erase several years of non-stop awful content for this show, I guess. And spinning ratings increases after the numbers hit all-time lows gives me a good laugh, LOL.

Did incompetent egomaniac Valentini order this data and gushing praise to be put out there??

Does Frank have some issues? Yes, but it’s quite a stretch to refer to him as “incompetent”. The show would’ve been cancelled in 2012 had he not righted the ship.

That was 13 years ago, ancient history. It’s long, long overdue for him to go and be replaced at the top with someone who actually has a fresh vision for the show. Not to mention, it should be someone who treats all actors (not just his/her pals) with proper respect sans childish grudges (Kelly Monaco instantly comes to mind) and doesn’t give the middle finger to longtime fans.

Do you have insider knowledge about the Kelly Monaco situation to determine it’s a “childish grudge”? She was under contract for 12 years under his EP.

Does he make mistakes, sure. But to keep this show profitable, while maintaining a large cast and rich looking sets is a fete the network appreciates.

Frank made and stills makes GH affordable for ABC to continue the show and to be it from cancellation. I think that alone afford him to be an “egomaniac”.. but certain not “incompetent”.

That’s what I’ve been telling my sister. GH has gotten SO MUCH BETTER. I let the episodes build up some, and the beinge watch GH! Popcorn and all. Lol. And when Michael came in and swooped Wiley in his arms, my mouth dropped! Wow! What an entrance introductory Rory Gibson. All decked out in a black tux. Strength n Masculinity n an intensity moment of a Man and a Father. It was beautiful! And GIO, another man of the hour. Well Done GH!
Well done .

I’ve been watching GH since 1976. Many many stories ,Some Great, some pretty sketchy. I like today’s story lines. I hope Drew gets what he deserves! How is Willow smart enough to have been a teacher and a nurse, when she can’t see what’s going on? Can’t wait for the final outcome of all this family drama

The writers are doing an excellent job with these storylines and the actors are doing an incredible job

Some of the best stories in a long time. Can’t wait to watch on Hula every night. Good job writers and actors.

This Drew -Willow thing needs to end. I do think he’s drugging Willow. But, why? Why does he want to marry her so urgently?

‘General Hospital’s’ Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna Deliver the ‘Power Performances of the Week’

Published

on

By

The on-screen father/son combo of General Hospital’s Dante and Rocco Falconeri as portrayed by Dominic Zamprogna and Finn Carr were part of high emotional stakes scenes on episodes airing May 11-15.

First, Finn Carr’s Rocco is so guilt-ridden and burdened with the secret that he shot WSB director, Ross Cullum that it’s eating him alive. So much so, that he gets into a heated argument with Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn). Rocco feels so badly that Danny’s father was taken from him for parts unknown by the WSB, all because Jason refused to implicate Rocco as the shooter.

In a heartbreaking scene, Rocco shows up at Britt’s door and lets her know he can’t take it anymore and that the secret he is keeping is tearing him apart. The fear is palpable in Rocco’s eyes. Britt calls Rocco a hero for saving her life and Jason’s and he has to remember that. Britt hugs him and promises that he can come talk to her anytime. In that moment, Rocco felt seen and felt safe.

ROCCO ON THE EDGE

All of the beats mentioned above were played with depth and acting maturity by Finn Carr; that it is so very clear why the writers and the producers are so comfortable giving him the ball in this umbrella story. He steps up to the plate every time and hits it out of the park.

Rocco also overheard his parents fighting over him after Dante figured out that Rocco was responsible for the shooting, and confronted Lulu (Alexa Havins) for withholding the truth from him. As their argument escalated and their relationship was further threatened by the lies, Rocco listened to the whole thing from the outside porch.

Eventually Dante, who had learned the truth by having Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) help him piece together what happened the night Cullum was shot, has a heart to heart with his son. He asks Rocco to tell him in his own words the events that transpired, and promises Rocco, that even though he is the police commissioner, he is going to help him. Rocco goes step by step over how Cullum was about to strike Jason with a weighted-baton and how the gun was loose on the ground and he shot him. Dante says his actions saved Jason and Britt’s life, and that he is going to help his son from here on out. He just wished everyone had come to him sooner, because as the father it’s his job to protect his son, not the other way around.

DANTE COMES TO TERMS

Still later in the week, Dante is visited by Elizabeth, and they discuss how they are going to cover-up any evidence that Rocco was at the hospital the night of the shooting with a hand injury, and that Dante is going to make sure the evidence against Rocco disappears. Something that is a huge disconnect for anyone that knows what a fine and upstanding cop Dante has been through the years, but he is determined to help his son stay safe and to keep him close.

However, Cullum is on the hunt for said evidence, and thinks Danny may have shot him in the back (or does he … and he knows Rocco shot him?). He visits Dante’s office and wants the evidence in the shooting. Meanwhile, bets are we are a few story beats away from Danny learning Rocco shot Cullum.

Throughout all the material given to Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna they rose to the occasion. Finn, getting the opportunity to play the often uptight Rocco on the edge, and Dominic, showing us how he can make us feel what Dante is feeling just by watching the emotion and hurt in his eyes. Therefore, Michael Fairman TV names Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna our picks for the Power Performances of the Week.

Now below, let us know if you agree with our picks of Finn and Dominic as the standout performances of the week, and if so, what moment really tugged on your heartstrings featuring Rocco and/or Dante via the comment section.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Reflects on His Time with TV Parents Stuart Damon and Leslie Charleson

Published

on

By

Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) took some moments to share stories and remembrances of two of the all-time greats of General Hospital, who also happen to have played his television parents, the late Stuart Damon (ex-Alan Quartermaine) and Leslie Charleson (ex-Monica Quartermaine).

The moment came during the release of Sunday’s all-new episode of the That’s Awesome podcast with Steve and Bradford Anderson. The episode featured questions from fans of the actors; one of which was for Steve that asked, “What it was like working with Stuart and Leslie as your parents?”

The two-time Daytime Emmy winner, who is currently in the last part of his extended hiatus from the ABC soap, always talks fondly of Stuart and Leslie and often gets choked up doing so. Stuart Damon passed away back in June of 2021, while Leslie Charleson passed away more recently in January of 2025. Burton debut as a young teenaged Jason Quartermaine back in 1991, and as he tells it, without the influence and help of Stuart Damon, his GH career may not be where it is today.

STUART DAMON’S WORK ETHIC

“Stuart was super consistent in how he worked. Super structured. I learned a lot from Stuart about his work ethic, his discipline, showing up, treating people kindly, being grateful,” recalled Burton. “If that’s what you can learn from somebody … that’s amazing. It was just something special about being in the Quartermaines. We had something. It was a special family put together.”

As viewers know, just by watching the death of Monica Quartermaine episodes earlier this year, just how close in real-life Steve was to the late Leslie Charleson. “Leslie was a firecracker. You didn’t know what was going to happen or when it was going to happen,” shared Burton. “I always tell the story about how I would come in chewing gum. I was this little cocky teenager and she’d be like, ‘spit it out now!’  Leslie was such a nurturing person. She loved to help, and had amazing sense of humor. I couldn’t have had two better onscreen parents ever.”

GH did a complete about face with the character of Jason Quartermaine after his motorcycle crash on New Year’s Eve in 1995, and he became Jason Morgan, who is now one of the all-time most beloved characters in the history of the show. But as Burton explains it, it may not have happened if it wasn’t for Stuart Damon.

YOU GOT TO GIVE THIS KID A SHOT

“Stuart was the biggest cheerleader of mine. Not often does this happen where somebody would go up to the fifth floor to whoever’s the executive producer and he says, ‘You gotta give this kid a shot. Give him more, see what he can do.’ That was really nice of him,” acknowledged Steve. “So, if it wasn’t for Stewart … I always speak very highly of him because he was amazing, In real-life, Stuart was just a beautiful soul would give anything to anybody. I always give him credit and Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), because without the two of them there, I wouldn’t be where I am for sure.”

You can check out the entire episode of the latest edition of Steve and Bradford’s podcast below.

Now, let us know, do you think that Stuart Damon and Leslie Charleson as Alan and Monica were two of the greatest TV parents in the history of soap operas? What did you think of Steve’s remembrances? Drop your thoughts in the comment section.
