Bobbie Spencer’s family and friends and an unexpected visitor attended the memorial service of the beloved GH nurse, and longtime resident of Port Charles, on the highly-anticipated January 10th episode of the ABC daytime drama series.

As the day began, Carly is preparing to attend her mother’s memorial, when her brother, Lucas arrives. The two share an emotional hug as Carly says she doesn’t know how she will get through this, and Lucas says that he doesn’t know either, but they will.

Anna and Felicia arrive at Maxie’s ready to say goodbye to the woman who made such a huge difference in all of their lives, for Bobbie’s adopted daughter BJ’s heart, lives inside Maxie and saved her life as a little girl.

Then, in what many of us hoped we would never have to see, Bobbie’s photo is now on the GH memorial wall, along with so many others that have passed before her that Port Charles and the viewers hold closed to their hearts. As Laura looks at Bobbie’s photo, Spencer shows up and the two hug.

Elizabeth meets up with Laura at Kelly’s before the service, because Ruby’s old diner sign broke. An upset Laura is calmed by Liz who says she will replace it and make another one.

Now at the church, there is a collage of photos of Bobbie through the years at its entrance as Anna, Maxie and Felicia share a moment. Maxie remembers Tony listening to BJ’s heart beating in her chest after her live-saving heart transplant.  At that moment, Maxie spots an unknown young woman in the church where she feels like she may know her, but can’t figure out from where.

Tracy tells Carly how sorry she is and that she admired Bobbie for her dedication to Luke. Sonny arrives with Sam and Dante and tells Carly how much he loved Bobbie. Alexis has a flashback of how Bobbie’s words of wisdom about abuse helped her after Kristina recalls how Kiefer abused her years ago.

Laura sees Scott in the pew having difficulties figuring how to speak about Bobbie, when its so easy for him to speak publicly in a courtroom as a lawyer. Scott is just overcome with grief.

As the memorial began, there was the heartbreaking moment when the men brought in Bobbie’s casket. Next, Laura gave the eulogy where she expresses how Bobbie was a fighter for things she truly believed in and saw the good in everyone, something that was true about Jackie Zeman as well. Laura says Bobbie was an experience, one she will miss.

When Scott speaks, he admits he is at a loss for words, which is rare for him. He talks about how Bobbie had a eclectic group of friends from an Aztec Princess (Felicia) to fitness guru Richard Simmons. Scott shared he has realized that he and Bobbie were meant to be best friends. He puts his hand on her casket and says he’ll miss Bobbie. This one of the more emotional moments of the episode, because as viewers, know Kin and Jackie were so close and best friends in real life.

Elizabeth spoke proudly of Bobbie and how she helped her and so many others. Last to speak was Carly. She admits to the attendees that she was a mess when she came to Port Charles, and a schemer. She says her mother accepted her and she loves her mom, so much, and how the world will be different place without her.

While there were cutaways to the attendees, we couldn’t help but be so moved by watching Lucas struggle with the grief of his losing his mom as played by the returning Ryan Carnes. What we don’t understand is why Lucas was not given an opportunity to speak at Bobbie’s memorial. After the service, Felix approaches Lucas and gives him a hug elaborating on what a terrific person Bobbie was.

Reserving full judgment until after Thursday’s episode, but it’s a “barely like” so far.

Yes, the vets shined as expected and having Brighton back was a treat.

Did they get Carnes back on an “under 5” agreement? At least show his sister Sam comforting him.

Two clips only? One for Alexis and one for Felicia. Hoping that’s rectified on Thursday.

They had all contract players who interacted with Bobbie along with recurring Kevin, Lucy, and Scott. But, apparently couldn’t afford to put Robert (a long history) or Carly’s pal Olivia in the church instead of 2 extras. Brad seems to have disappeared. Terry should’ve represented the hospital.

And, while they couldn’t necessarily afford or fit past cast members, maybe a scanning of the cards on the flowers could have revealed those received from Audrey, Lucky, Jake Meyer, Noah Drake, Terry Brock and Valerie Spencer among others.

This!

Robert was in Thursday’s opening scene.

Going back to my first sentence, after viewing the second episode, I will say job well done.

Judging by Robert’s voice, he might have been sick on the day the church scenes were shot.

Thursday’s show was very powerful, especially the reveal who the reporter was.
I feel that anyone who has lost their mother had a hard time not bursting in to tears. I watched GH with my mom since 1978 and I could almost feel her watching Thursday’s show with me.

I thought the memorial was well done though it was definitely missing a few people that should have been included as mentioned by another commenter. Robert was best friends with Luke for so many years. Not sure why he wasn’t included.
What we don’t understand is why Lucas was not given an opportunity to speak at Bobbie’s memorial. ” I can’t agree more with this sentence. Why just those few lines? He was her son and such a wonderful actor. I’m sure he could have been given a heartfelt monologue and he would have pulled it off.
Waiting to see what Thursday’s episode brings.
The writing has definitely improved since the writer’s strike is over.

“BJ” had more lines than Lucas and she’s been dead for almost 30 years!

I thought the whole thing was a little off. First thing that got me was Lucas and the guilty way he was acting ,was it me or was he really acting strange, not grieving necessarily. Secondly, I feel like a fool that I’ve watched all these years and didn’t know that Bobbi and Felicia were best friends, oh well, Carly didn’t know either.

Carly knew. She said was she didn’t know why she and Felicia weren’t friendly all these years considering that her mom and Felicia were so close. I guess she thought trying to kill Felicia’s brother-in-law, Tony, (who Felicia was very close to), after she drove him crazy and spewed her cruelty at him, was no biggie.

I agree Lucas should have got more lines he should have been able to speak also why didn’t Carly consult him more that’s her brother would have been nice if they were both up there while she was talking about their mother

Not everyone wants to speak at a funeral. Lucas strikes me as a more private, quiet character (hiding who he was most his lfe). Add to that he left PC, has been out of town for so long, and is in shock (and/or guilt for being disconnected) I understand his silent emoting. I think it was a great acting choice, given Lucas’ history and disappearance – Ryan Carnes made great lemonade!

If Maxie has BJ’s heart how is BJ alive ?

BJ in these episodes was a ghost or angel. Still dead. Brighton did a great job.

She’s not alive; she was her spirit or ghost, however you want to refer to her…

No way would Bobbie be buried and Dr Noah Drake wouldn’t show up.

Great writing for the memorial episodes and to tie it back to BJ and to get the former actress was even better. Glad to have the lead writers back to take us into 2024! BJ back as an angel brought out the tissues and we did not even watch GH back then.

Not to me; I thought it corny.

I loved today’s episode. A wonderful tribute to both Bobbie and the actress. Jackie Zemam. didn’t realize the reporter was BJ till close to the end. Loved everyone’s memories and flashbacks. I wish I could be remembered like that
Andddd I didn’t realize till I read this synopsis the name of the reporter – ANGELA of course! ❤️

Whoever had the idea of seeking out Brighton Hertford to play Angela Brighton — B.J. in angel form — in this pivotal, brilliant stroke of casting and writing should be given an enormous raise and Emmy award! I was blown away by the two episodes for Bobbie’s sendoff. And it’s hard for this former GH zealot to be impressed by much of anything about this show. But the writing, acting, pacing, and casting were all phenomenal.
Sure, a mention of Audrey would have been nice, and one could quibble about maybe a couple of other characters who might have been there. But Laura, Scotty, Felicia, Lucas, Maxie, and, yes, even Carly, among others, provided believable grief and respect for Bobbie in this sentimental sendoff. Yet the stroke of genius in the return of B.J. was one of GH’s finest moments. Bobbie would be proud. Zeman would be proud. Thank you.

I thought Bobbi’s service was nicely done. Would love to have seen more clips but the ones they had were nice! It was very emotional and beautiful. I love to hear all the other characters speak but Laura was great and whomever wrote her eulogy. I actually did not watch GH when BJ was on so don’t really know the story. Will have to look it up.

I watch general hospital way back in the early 80s. I missed the part where Luke raped Laura. It was a nice funeral service. Bought back many memories wow time sure flew by.

Y Wasnt Luke There GH Has Ghosts All The Time

Tony Geary has retired to Amsterdam. Highly unlikely we see him on GH again

It was once again the Carly show; all Carly’s grief. Lucas barely said a word, no one personally spoke with him except for Felix. He didn’t give a eulogy, he was excluded from hearing what the ghost, lol, had to say to Carly, Maxi, and Felicia about Bobbie helping trafficked girls. I don’t even know why the writers asked him back with such a snub. To top it off, when he left the diner, he and Carly hugged while Liz and Laura didn’t give him so much as a wave goodbye. LOL; it was ridiculous. Nice flashback clips though.

Taking to his Instagram to celebrate the nominations, GH’s Bennett, enthused, “3 Critic Choice Nominations! I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. Not bad for a little show on Hallmark Channel. What are your thoughts on our show?” Jumping first into the comment thread was one of his new GH co-stars, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) who expressed, “Yeah buddy!!!🔥🔥”

In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). Along the way, they develop their skills and a bond with one another. The show, which is available on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Plus, highlights LGBTQ+ representation with openly gay contestants vying to be the next Hallmark star.

It should be noted that Traitors received the most Critics Choice Real TV Award nominations with 6 nods, followed by Dancing with the Stars with 4.

Bennett is very familiar to daytime fans having started his career as JR Chandler on All My Children in 2000-2001, before landing the part of Aaron Samuels in the motion picture, Mean Girls in 2004 starring Lindsay Lohan, which would become his breakout performance.

‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?

Published

on

By

On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.

As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.

Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Courtesy/ABC

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.

BROTHERLY LOVE?

Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”

With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”

BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE

Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”

So, who do you think will be the person to blow Cassius’ cover? Will it be Britt herself? Josslyn? Liesl? Brennan? Nina? Lulu? Rocco, Maxie, Cullum or someone else? Let us know your pick in the comment section.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Michael Reveals His Plan to Set Up Chase and Willow to Have an Affair

Published

By

After the Wednesday, April 29 episode of General Hospital, it’s clear outside interference and other circumstances are set to blow Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) marriage sky high, as Michael (Rory Gibson) reveals his plans to entrap Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and use her relationship with Chase to do it!

In story, Michael dropped by unexpectedly to Carly’s (Laura Wright). A plotting Michael reveals his plan to nudge Willow and Chase into having an affair. Michael hopes it would create both a political and personal scandal, where Willow would lose her seat in congress. In the scenario, she would be having an affair with her ex-husband, while taking care of her supposed disabled husband, Drew (Cameron Mathison), who cannot speak and is confined to a wheelchair, which in turn will look horrible for Willow’s character.

Carly asked does he really want to destroy his cousin, Brook Lynn’s life in the process? Michael goes in on Chase’s holier than thou attitude, and says he is going to set-up the circumstances that would lead Chase and Willow to betray their spouses, and hit the sheets together. Michael swears to Carly what the two of them do is up to them, but he’s going to go on the offense with this.

MICHAEL HAS BACK-UP

Later, Jacinda (Paige Herschell) is talking with Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) at Crimson and how much she dislikes Willow because of what she has done to Michael. Just then, Michael shows up and tells Jacinda privately, he’s figured out a way to fight Willow. Looks like Jacinda might work with Michael to bring down Willow and use Chase as the person to do it!

At the hospital, Lucas (Van Hansis) tells Josslyn (Eden McCoy) that Carly is cheating on Jack, but he doesn’t know with who. Josslyn suddenly flashes back to the moment she found her mother harboring a fugitive, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), in her attic, and as figured out that her mother is sleeping with him. She heads out.

Courtesy/ABC

BRENNAN IS ABOUT TO LEARN ABOUT CARLY

Next thing you know, Josslyn has showed up inside Jack’s (Chris McKenna) hotel room at the Metro Court and when he enters his room, he is shocked to find her there. He lays into her for not keeping his distance and that Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) will have no problem killing her if he knows she’s WSB. Josslyn fires back that he is only concerned about that because his relationship with her mother depends on her being safe. But then, she lays the boom, and tells Jack, Well, you’re too late. You already lost her.”

LULU GETS A GLIMPSE OF CASSIUS’ TEMPER

In addition, Lulu (Alexa Havins) sees a different side of “Nathan.” Since she is unaware that the man before her is his twin, Cassius Fasion (Ryan Paevey), he tells her that Rocco (Finn Carr) blabbed that he shot Cullum to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), and now he thinks they should send him away to stop him from talking to everyone else. This concerns Lulu, who rails at Nathan for telling her what to do with her son and that she isn’t going to abandon him. With “Nathan’s” outburst at her on the matter, will she finally get a clue this is not the man she thinks it is?

So, what do you think of Michael’s plan to push Willow and Chase into an affair? Will it work or backfire? Do you think Joss will reveal that Valentin is the man sleeping with Carly to Brennan, which will send him in a rage? Will Lulu continue to be clueless about “Nathan?” Weigh-in via the comment section below. But first, take a look at the GH video tease for today’s April 30 episode.
