GENERAL HOSPITAL: Carly and Jason Share Their Heartbreak Over Michael; Lucky Tries to Piece Together Why Cyrus is the ‘Digitalis’ Killer
On the Tuesday, January 14th episode of General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) may have an idea of how to help Michael (Chad Duell), Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) is trying to understand the motivation behind the person (Cyrus) killing patients with a lethal dose of digitalis, Tracy (Jane Elliot) refuses to let Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) take the kids off the Quartermaine property and Willow and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) are now officially enemies.
Let’s start at the hospital, where Jason sees Carly is outside of Michael’s room. After they embrace, Carly cries, “How will we get through this?” Carly says Michael just has to make it, and Jason says he will as Michael always has gotten his strength from her. Carly responds that she feels he gets his strength from Jason, because he’s always looked up to him.
Then in a heart-tugging remembrance, Jason says Michael was the first baby he ever held. It’s at that point, Carly admits that Jason was Michael’s father in every way that counts. She always wondered what her child with Jason would have been like, instead of the child fathered by AJ, but she wouldn’t trade Michael for anything. Carly cries that she will love Michael no matter what, but he may have to have so many outward scars and speaks on how the outside world can be cruel. Jason says what if he doesn’t have to (live with those scars)?

Jason reminds Carly about the clinic Ava went to for the burns on her face, and Carly wonders how she got in to that place. Jason tells her it was through Valentin’s conn. Will this be how Valentin gets back into Port Charles without any trouble with Carly needing his help for Michael?
Meanwhile, Lucky is speaking to the head of the redemption mission about Cyrus. She informs him that Cyrus’ is doing a wonderful job of giving comfort to hospitalized and long-term care patients. Josslyn (Eden McCoy) overhears the conversation and learns of his charity work at Rice Plaza and then tells Lucky what she knows about the night Dex was stabbed, and how Dex, at one point, was ordered by Sonny to kill Cyrus while he was in the hospital, but Sonny changed his mind.
Later, Lucky talks this all out with Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and Lucas (Van Hansis), saying they need to figure out the “why” someone (or Cyrus) is killing people such as Sam or attempting to kill someone such as Michael?

Nina (Cynthia Watros) finds Drew (Cameron Mathison) at her door and is not happy to see him. She doesn’t like his “hold” over her daughter, and his arrogant and controlling nature when it comes to Willow. The two still share the secret that Drew was also sleeping Nina. Will that finally come out? Will Nina tell her daughter?
Willow is about to take the kids off the Quartermaine premises when Sasha stops her. Sasha can’t believe Willow would do this, but Willow says she’s doing what she needs to do to keep her kids. Willow says the situation doesn’t involve Sasha and wonders why she is interested. Is it because things went belly-up with Cody? Does she want Michael back? Yet to be revealed is that Sasha is carrying Michael’s baby which would blow this custody battle sky high. Let’s not forget, Willow made a snide remark about Sasha wouldn’t know what its like to be a mother! Stay tuned.

Martin (Michael E. Knight) comes to the Q’s to inform Tracy that Willow is taking the kids, and Tracy refuses to let that happen. At the end of the episode, Jason and Carly want to see Michael, but Felicia (Kristina Wagner) stops them, At the same time, Nina finds Sonny in the hospital chapel and ask him to talk to Tracy before things get nastier.
Do you think sending Michael to the place where Ava had plastic surgery on his face, will be the way the show writes off Chad Duell? Do you think collectively everyone is pretty dumb not to know “why” Cyrus is killing select people with “digitalis”, or are you as confused as the characters as to the motive? Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes where Martin interrupts Tracy and Lulu’s discussion about finding Charlotte, with news on Willow taking the kids.
I think they may suspect why Cyrus targeted Sylvie and Lulu (mercy killing) but that doesn’t explain why he killed Sam or Dex, who were both healthy. We know Dex could place Cyrus on Sam’s floor when she died. That’s what they discussed at Rice Plaza before Cyrus stabbed him and why Cyrus killed Dex. But why did Cyrus kill Sam?
For the many flaws this story has, it certainly is bringing the drama. And the performances have been excellent, especially Jason & Carly’s scenes outside Michael’s room. The only way I’m able to stomach Drew is to completely disassociate the character now from the character Billy Miller played. As far as I’m concerned, they’re two completely different people, and this version of Drew is pure slimy villain. And why hasn’t Nina told Willow about her and Drew yet!? Shouldn’t her loyalty be to her daughter, first and foremost?
As for Cyrus, what is his motive for killing people? Putting them out of their misery? If so, that would make zero sense with Sam because she wasn’t in pain, she had a voluntary surgery that she was recovering well from. And if Cyrus is the person who stabbed Dex, then he caused his pain. Was he also the one who put a bomb in Sonny’s apartment?
At least Tracy is involved in the story. I loved watching her rip a strip off Drew. No one who goes up against Tracy gets off easy, so the more trouble she can cause “Drillow”, the better.
At least Lucky is getting some sort of a storyline. This Spencer reunion isn’t going the way I thought it would… appears so far all The Spencer clan hardly have any scenes or crossover stories yet….
And my question is why haven’t these deaths been reported to the PCPD? Shouldn’t the police have been involved with the first suspicious death (Sam) rather than an internal investigation by Portia?
Carly and Jason have real love between them and the actor’s portrayl of these deep feelings shows whenever they have a scene together, especially today.
Well, now that we’ve been remined of Ava’s burn recovery, we know it will be a done deal, between Carly and her buddy Jack, they’ll make it happen, just a matter of time and how long they want to drag this part out, before sending Michael to Germany. Also, I don’t see them letting Carly accompanying him, to hold his hand. That place should be reserved for his wife, if she really gave a damn!
I don’t think it’s Cyrus. Never did because the lack of a strong COMMON connection between he and the victims. But I had no other idea. I’ve now formed an opinion on who the killer is. I think it’s Isaiah. The connection between him and the victims is Lucky. I think Isaiah has an internal anger that’s been festering over Lucky having left him behind during a mission…
I think that’s why he found a way to stay in PC-payback to Lycky.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
