GENERAL HOSPITAL: Lucky is Gut-Punched After Learning He Can’t Be Lulu’s Donor and Save Her Life
On the Tuesday, October 8th episode of General Hospital, Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) is reeling from the news delivered by Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst); that his blood tests preclude him from being a viable liver donor for his sister, Lulu. Elizabeth explains that at some point he must have picked up a parasite in his travels, and gotten sick, and it affected his liver, but because of his elevated liver enzymes, if Lulu was to get his liver, she could become seriously ill and potentially die.
Lucky is rocked to his core and goes on to say how he stayed away too long, and now he can’t help his sister at her time of need. Next, Lucky heads to Lulu’s bedside where he tells her he is so sorry that he can’t save her. He takes her hand and says she’s always been a fighter, so she needs to fight now and hang on until they can find her a viable donor.
Next, Lucky is in for more anguish when Lulu’s son, Rocco (Finn Carr) overhears him and becomes upset and says “Aren’t you going to save my mom?” Lucky can’t believe how much his nephew has grown, but assures Rocco they will find his mother a liver. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) arrives on the scene, hugs Lucky then learns he is not able to save Lulu. Beyond upset, Rocco runs off and Dante follows him.

Sam (Kelly Monaco) arrives at the hospital and sees Dante and Rocco in the hallway and sits down with them, after hearing Lucky can’t be Lulu’s donor. She and Dante tell Rocco that there is a match somewhere out there for Lulu (are we foreshadowing here?), and they just need to find that person.

Elizabeth breaks down in the ‘break’ room as Lucas (Van Hansis) comes by. She tells him, Lucky is going to blame himself for Lulu’s plight and when Lucky blames himself bad things happen. Cut to Bobbie’s and Lucky announces to the patrons that this is his family’s diner and they should all get the hell out, screaming at them to leave now. Next, he demolishes the place in angst and winds up on the floor.

total bust of a storyline, don’t blame the show for trying to milk the drama, but we all know where this is going, (hope I’m wrong) seems like for some reason they want sam who will save Lulu life and thus killing off the character, as to why they want to go this route that no fan wants to see play out just goes to show you how out of touch the show is going with their audience. But I’m hoping I’m wrong about so many things, as for Lucky no being a donor and then throwing a tantrum, with no regard to property no less the establishment that bare his aunt name well I’m not surprise, he’s always has come across like a baby so him acting like one seem normal for him. Laura needs to bitch slap his ass and tell him to grow up. Damn Laura really hit the jackpot with her kids didn’t she? I mean one is kin prison, the other runs away from responsibility and poor Lulu just can’t catch a break.
I’ve been predicting that Sam is going to be Lulu’s liver donor for a while now.

If this twist (i.e., trashing the place) is what JJ meant when he said Lucky is “more like Luke than before,” I give it a hearty thumbs down. His sister might be dying and he can’t hold it together enough not to trash the restaurant named after his aunt?
I was excited about JJ coming back, but they have to do better than this. With the exception of the stuff with Aiden, I haven’t cared about any of Lucky’s story or scenes so far. Maybe it’ll be better when Laura comes back.
Get rid of Carly,get a newer,younger Sonny who can be a priest,new storyline not with the mob,get rid of Portia,Christina,alexis,ava,molly,laura,lucy,bring back rebecca bugnig,get christian keyes as a romantic lead with Halle berry.
This is why I was “meh” about Lucky returning. I never cared for his constant red eyes and his crying back in the day and I don’t like it today. Loved him as a child actor. Don’t love his choices playing Lucky as an adult. Enough with with the bloodshot eyes and always crying. Pull up any YouTube clip of his last GH gig and he’s in full red-eye and tears. It’s played out. At this point I much more enjoy some subtlety or an understated performance. He’s more than capable. Show us something new. I wish someone would convince J.J. that he doesn’t have to always wear himself out overdoing these scenes.

I’ve watched GH off and on since the late 90’s, consistently since 2011. I remember bits and pieces of Lucky, mostly that I never really found the character likeable. Now, absolutely horrible and unwatchable. Please for the love of God take a shower and wash your hair. He’s just nasty looking and completely self absorbed. WTF are the writers thinking? This whole show is going down the drain.
Guess it’s a good thing that Aiden got to talk to Lucky before he got the devastating news about his liver not being viable for donation. With the really dark state of mind Lucky was in after he went to Bobbie’s, Aiden might have got the wrong idea and thought his dad was rejecting him.
You’re right, and if the writers did that deliberately, I give them credit.
I was cheering Joss for ripping into Lucky for throwing a tantrum in Bobbie’s. The writers should have left it there. He deserved to be ripped into. Then they show Joss having a change of heart. No! That’s what’s wrong with Lucky. People always giving him a pass. Enough. Grow up. Be a man. Raise your kid. Stay near your kid. Take bad news like a human, not an animal.
Re: Sam being Lulu’s donor: liver donors are living donors. If it’s true that the writers are to kill Sam off (BAD MOVE, GH!) It doesn’t necessarily have to be so she can donaye her liver. It could be anyone who is a match..
As far as Lucky’s reaction to the bad news, I can understand his anguish. Trashing Bobbies wasn’t a great move for him but he felt it was his only outlet at the time. I hope that he gets a better storyline going forward though because this current stuff is getting old fast. I’ve watched GH since day one and I’ve seen some really awful stories but this stuff is BAD. Enough. Let’s be happy that Lucky is home and get him the help he obviously needs.

GENERAL HOSPITAL Preview: Serena Sets Her Sights on Michael; Jason’s Emotional Exit from the Mob
This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”
Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.
Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.
Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.
Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7
Josslyn is taken aback. Ava courts a new ally. Jordan and Anna catch up. Isaiah vents to Lucas and Elizabeth. Michael questions Jacinda.

Vincent Pastore of ‘Sopranos’ Fame and ‘General Hospital’s’ Maximus Giambetti Dies at 80
Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.
The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.
PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL
Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)
According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”
Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.
Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.
In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.
Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
