GENERAL HOSPITAL: Michael Lowers the Boom on Nina, But Is He Letting Her Off the Hook Too Easy with His Demand?
On Wednesday’s October 25th episode of General Hospital, Michael (Chad Duell), armed with the information that it was Nina (Cynthia Watros) who pointed the SEC to his mother, Carly (Laura Wright) and to Drew (Cameron Mathison), stops by her office to confront her.
Would Michael put the screws to Nina in a major way, or would this story continue without Sonny (Maurice Benard), Carly or Drew knowing what really happened. From the looks of it, the second option is where we are heading, infuriating many GH fans, while others are happy that Nina still can hold on to her man, Sonny … or can she?
In story, when Michael goes to see Nina, she is a bit stunned by his seeming animosity. Michael tells her that he knows what she did, and her luck has run out. Next, Michael plays the recording of Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) naming Nina as the person who directed him to point the finger at Carly and Drew for insider trading to the SEC.

Courtesy/ABC
A caught red-handed Nina wonders what Michael wants for his silence. He wants her to stay away from her daughter Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) forever and from this day forward, she has to ask him for permission to see Willow, or her grandson, Wylie, or granddaughter, Amelia.
Michael shares that Nina has gotten off way too easy for what she did. Nina fires back about how Carly kept her from knowing the truth about her daughters, Nelle and Willow. She pushes back on Michael and says he will not keep her away from her daughter or her grandkids.
Next, Nina sort of admits that calling the SEC was impulsive, but she wanted to bring Carly down. Michael can’t believe her, especially since Drew saved Willow’s life. And for that, what did he get? Sent to prison because of Nina. Michael berates Nina and says how angry Sonny will be when he finds out what she did.
However, instead of making a beeline to Sonny, armed with the truth about his new wife, Michael blackmails Nina. He will tell Sonny all if she does not follow his rules. And here are the rules: she can only see Willow and the kids when he says so. In addition, she will sell Carly back her half of the Metro Court, to which Nina balks. Just then, Willow arrives on the scene to see an intense looking Michael and a teary Nina. We fade to black.
So, are you annoyed that Michael let Nina off the hook too easy? Do you think he should have turned her in, at least to Sonny, Carly and Drew, and let them know what she did? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
This “permission to see Willow” threat is stupid. To see Willow, go through me? Hi, can I see Willow. No. I think the MetroCourt blackmail is the better way the story should go. Giving the hotel back to Carly will obviously make her suspicious and that would drive story much better than “as me permission”
I think she should sell her back for a small price like Bobby did!
Michael has to tell Sonny. I don’t care how “happy” Sonny is. He needs to know what his wife is up to behind his back.
Please Carly has done as much and worse. She had it coming
No way. Carly is so much classier than Nina.
You must not be a long time viewer. By comparison, Nina is a saint!!!!
Right, make me wanna stop watching. Carly gets away with whatever she wants. There is no way that she should have not told Nina that Nell & Willow were her Daughters Who is Carly? Carly is playing God with peoples lives. I am sick of her. The way she has hurt Nina , l would have turned her a_s in too!
I agree..Carly gets away with everything. Nina deserves some happiness with her daughter. Nina tried to tell Carly that Sonny was alive but Carly was so rude to her that Nina said: FORGET IT
I dont really think Michael is concerned about Sonny’s happiness, he just loves having this power over Nina, she’ll be like a puppet on a string.i
Amen, Violet. The only things more laughable than Michael’s “tough guy” threats are his hypocrisy and his stupid new hairdo. This righteousness from someone who endangered several lives just recently by trying to punish Sonny for hurting his poor, victimized mommy? What a tool!
Boy, Soaphound, he’s sure turned into a ” little Puke” , to borrow someone else’s description. I wonder how long it will take Nina to figure out what a jerk her husband is?
I meant Willow, not Nina.
I agree %. Sonny needs to know.cause once Sonny, Carly or Drew find out Michael knew sooner or later they will be Pissed off @ him. Is he willing to take that deal with that situation. H
Michael seems to want to take control, and Nina is sick enough to do Michael harm so Sonny doesn’t find out. Everything comes up to the surface sooner or later.
YES He does!! Let Carly tell Sonny!!! Oohh La La
This needs to blow up already. Nina is a horrible person, and a lying sack of s***. Michael’s using blackmail on Nina isn’t cool, or in his character. He’s usually hotheaded, and would go straight to Sonny. I wish Michael would tell Sonny in a way to cause max damage to Nina.
Exactly!
Oh the hypocrisy
Me too!!
If Nina has any brains, she’ll go straight to Sonny and tell him the truth about her involvement with Carly and Drew and then tell him what Michael is doing to her with his blackmail. Let the chips fall where they may because this move of Michael’s will make everyone miserable in the long run.
I absolutely agree with you. Being a pupet for Michael is not the best decision. People have forgotten or dismissed the horrible pain Carly caused throughout the years. While I prefer Sonny and Carly as a couple. Its time for Carly to feel a little more pain.
Carly paid for her mistakes. Time to let go. Nina has done so much worse . No more breaks for princess woe is me . Think back _ wayyy back to when she faked her paralysis, or when she kidnapped Ava and forced her into labor , then kidnapped her baby . Nina is no innocent . As far as Sonny is concerned – she can have him . Carly is too good for him . She belongs with Drew . But give her back her half of the metrocourt. Playtime is over , the staff doesn’t respect Nina . Shame on Nina for taking what clearly doesn’t belong to her. CARLY SPENCER RULES !!!!!
I almost feel like not watching the show anymore. This is so out of character for Michael Nina needs to pay I cringe.
I hate Carly and she doesn’t deserve to get her hotel back. Nina has been through a lot because of Carly. Payback is a bitch. It’s not like Carly isn’t guilty. Leave Nina alone and let her and Sonny be happy. Everyone acts like the world revolves around Carly
Nina tried to give it back to Carly and she refused. People seem to overlook Carly’s shenanigans and get all upset about Nina’s reactions that are impulsive but she’s tired of being bullied
Carly had pride . Let’s lot forget when Olivia offered to buy it for Carly , Nina said NO .
Nina doesn’t deserve ANY happiness! Look how many she has robbed of THEIR happiness!
Michael should be loyal to his father and tell him or make sure he finds out. Keeping it a secret for his own benefit is not a good idea. And Michael is better than that.
No Michael should do just what hes doing accept keeping Nina from her only real family. Give Carly back the hotel she had a magazine to run anyway. When she does that let that storyline die until Nina needs some drama in the show.
I completely agree !!
For God’s sake for once I would love to see someone get caught out right away now this will drag on and on to the point I don’t want to watch it if he loves his mother that much tell her !!!!!!!
He should nail her to the wall
I don’t like Michael blackmailing Nina. That makes him no better than some of the “villains” on a show. And his choice of words was off base. He’s not “protecting” his family, he’s playing God just like he accused Nina of doing when she kept Sonny from his loved one all those years ago. Hypocrisy much? I think so. I get him wanting to have Nina sell her half of the Metro Court back to Carly but the rest was bunk.
I don’t know what else he should have/could have done in this situation. It IS a tough one with plenty of “right” on both sides. Frankly, I’d LOVE to see some grown up conversations take place. Wouldn’t it have been surprising to have Nina confess to Sonny because she couldn’t live with this secret between them, only to have him say that he already knew and forgave her. Carly may have been a different story, but gee! something different than this typical soap fare would have been refreshing.
Michael seems like Nina with his threats, he should have told Sonny n had him deal with it
Also admit that he hired Dex to get information on Sonny to send him to prison and his mother knows about it all!! Oh the hypocrisy!!!!
Enough is enough we are human that watching the soap if you don’t have a good story do reruns from the 80s, your story lingers too long Nina should have never married sunny we have to think what message are you sending to the teenagers who are home after school Nina is not even a good actress, I use to get together with 10 women play scrabble and watched GH now we are down to 3
Michael, has lied to Sonny then he lied to Willow, then he lied to both Joss and Carly he is no worse then Nina and he is digging himself a deep hole.
nina anamosity towards carly about her dead daughter has gone on too long let it go michael should tell carly
and let her deal with nina and sonny
I think Michael should leave Nina alone. For years Carly has gotten away with murder and everyone turns a blind eye. Let Nina have a little peace. Carly got away with lying about Willow. I am tired of Carly getting away with everything and coming up smelling like a rose. Nina is sorry for what she did.
Jealous much???
I want Sonny and Carly to find out and get back together
Yes nina was left off way to easy.sonny and carly and drew should know what she did
What??? Turning Carly in for something that SHE DID DO??? Oh my gosh the audacity of not letting Carly get away with a crime!!!!!!
You mean the “crime” that only Nina made money from?
Going to stop watching it they break Sonny and Nina apart tried of Carly and her kids Josslin and Micheal her daughter is just like her mom I use to like Micheal don’t care for him anymore he was trying to hurt Sonny and get him locked up Carly wouldn’t be in this mess if she had not did wrong she loss everything because of what she did Nina had nothing to do with it it’s time she pay for her wrong she has gotten away with a lot over the years she couldn’t stand to see Jason with anyone and she doesn’t love Drew she just don’t have Sonny and Drew is in Gail because of Carly not Nina because if Carly had not did what she did he wouldn’t be in Gail he went so she wouldn’t have to go but some of you want to blame Nina and Nina don’t need to give Carly back the hotel she didn’t steal it from Carly she loss it on her own and she need to stay out of Nina business what her daughters willow need to stand with her mother and see the wrong that Carly has been doing it’s not Nina fault what happened to her that she in a coma and her kids was stolen by her mother and given way that way she had the problem her had but no one want to understand that you just want to feel sorry for Carly and Nina tried to tell Carly about Sonny was alive but she didn’t listen because she was to business be nasty to her I would have kept quiet to.
Actually, you’ll stop watching if they DON’T break up Sonny & Nina, because GH has been in a toilet spiral for the last 2 years, and the two main reasons why are the absence of Jason, and the never ending nightmare of the Tricky Dick Nixon Falls storyline.
And you can’t watch a show that’s cancelled. Which GH will be soon if they don’t undo this toilet spiral soon. Hopefully both of these factors will be remedied soon…. I’m still hoping Jason is home in time for Thanksgiving pizza at the Q mansion, and that he helps Sonny remove his head from his ass soon thereafter…. concerning both the Nina situation, and the fact that he’s being scammed by Lorenzo Alcazar, who is obviously the guy running “Pikeman”.
I think Carly, Michael and Joss should be voted off the island! They are just as bad as Nina if not worse!! They lie, cheat and steal just as much if not more. How they can be put on a pedestal is beyond me.
I think Michael was to soft on Nina, he should go right to Sonny with the truth.
I can’t stand Nina. It isn’t that Carly hasn’t “gotten away with” a lot of things, she has, and I’ve been watching since she came on the show. It’s that Nina let everyone, including his kids, think Sonny was dead when he wasn’t. Go all the way back to when Nina came on the show and don’t forget Sonny hated her because she murdered his early love, Connie. Nina is just a much a bitch as Carly only she doesn’t have any class. Tell me one honorable thing she has ever done! I hope Carly and Drew get back together because Nina has made a fool of Sonny.
I agree with a lot you have to say, except for one thing. Nina wasn’t the one that murdered Connie, it was Ava, remember Connie left the big letter A in blood, leading everyone to think it was A.J?
I just posted that Connie left the letter A in blood, it was A. J leading them to think it was A.J.Q
Yeah, I had to give Connie a hard time about that when she arrived in Hell. I mean, yeah, when you’re dying and writing stuff in your own blood you want to use short hand, that’s understandable. But “Ava” is just three letters, for Hell’s sake!
Ava killed Connie, not Nina. But both Ava AND Sonny should forever hate Nina because she cut baby Avery out of Ava’s womb and kidnapped her. That’s the type of thing that should never be forgiven.
But they already had Frodd paired up with Elizabeth… and we were supposed to believe he was Franco (yeah, right) who had previously kidnapped Elizabeth’s son Aiden when he was a baby.
At least they haven’t tried to excuse Nina’s crimes with a brain tumor…… yet.
Yes Get Rid of Nina!!! Sick of this tired old storyline, Ugh
I’m sorry, Nina is guilty. But now what is happening to Charlotte. Please, she can’t be dead.
There’s not a snowball’s chance in my back yard that they will kill off Charlotte. She’s Luke & Laura’s grandchild, for one thing. And they also wouldn’t make Anna Devane a child killer.
Nina does have some guilt in this one too though… she never should have wiped that security footage from the Metro Court. Though you can bet your soul there’s a backup copy on a server somewhere in that hotel. Somebody get Spinelli on the case, already.

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).
Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.
Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

Photo: JPI
FOR LESLIE CHARLESON
Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”
Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).
Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.
“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?
During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.
Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.
You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.
Now let us know, are you glad that Steve chose scenes surrounding Jason mourning the loss of the woman that raised him, Monica Quartermaine for his Emmy reel? What do you think of John Oliver as a suggestion to host the Daytime Emmys? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Jason Reconnects with Danny; Tristan Roberts Arrives in Port Charles, Lots of Nods to #16

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.
Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.
As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY
Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.
Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS
Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.
In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Courtesy/ABC
Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”
So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
