GENERAL HOSPITAL: Michael’s Choice, Johns Hopkins or Clinic in Germany? The Decision Paves Way for Chad Duell’s Exit
The family of Michael Corinthos is about to send him away, somewhere! However, faced with a terrible divide and a dilemma in treatment options for the third-degree burns that cover over 40 percent of his body, a choice must be made in a stunning cliffhanger on the Friday, January 17th episode of General Hospital.
Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), who has Michael’s medical proxy, apparently has been speaking with Portia (Brook Kerr) about getting her husband placed at the Johns Hopkins Burn Unit. Portia reveals a bed is opened up, and they can send Michael there which is tremendous news. While Carly (Laura Wright) looks upset and Sonny (Maurice Benard) looks on, Willow says Johns Hopkins is close enough so they can all visit Michael while he gets treatment and recovers.
Carly says she has a better option. She explains to everyone that the clinic in St. Petersburg’s Russia, that treated Ava Jerome (Maura West) for third-degree burns all over her face, and where she made a miraculous recovery, might be the best chance for Michael to be able to live the rest of his life without noticeable scars.

Sonny doesn’t know about this, so he pulls Cary aside. She explains that the clinic that was in Russia has since closed, but one of their doctors is now working at a specialized clinic in Germany. Carly goes on to tell Sonny that Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) from the WSB was able to secure Michael a spot. Michael could make a full recovery without any scars. Sonny doesn’t like the fact that Michael would be all the way in Europe and so far away from Port Charles. An emotional Carly, in mama bear mode, says, “I will be with him. Every minute of every day.”
Later, Willow (after speaking with Sonny and Carly) tells Portia to have Michael woken up, so he can make the ultimate decision for his care. That move means for Michael that he will be brought out of heavy sedation for a few moments while enduring horrific pain to try to communicate where he wants to go.

It’s decided that Carly will be the one to go in his room and speak to him. At the end of the episode, an overwrought Carly, looks at Michael who is now lucid and in pain, and tells him he has to make a decision. We fade to black.
So, how do you think the GH writers are paving the way in story for the exit of Chad Duell, who announced he is leaving the show after almost 15 years as Michael? Will Michael choose to go to Johns Hopkins so he can be closer to his family or opt for Germany and go with Carly’s options for the chance at a full recovery? Dee, I respectfully disagree. The over reliance on Sonny and Carly has weakened the show. In fact, the days the aforementioned aren’t on the show, the show is stronger and more interesting.

I never liked drew and now I dislike him even more how can you have an affair with your nephew’s wife to me that is as low as you can go, something needs to happen to drew like lose his daughter to Alexis, lose his political position and driven out of town. I’m just saying

Wait a sec… Carly is a huge part of GH and there’s not many good actors left. GH needs Carly more than your aware of. Yes she’s always got her hands in something but she’s got to stay!!
Not saying she needs to go away but a lessoning of her dominance of the storylines would benefit the series. She’s a decent soap actress, albeit not great enough to be featured in every story. Many viewers are just tired of her.

“Chase talked some sense into her?” She did exactly what Nina told her to do which was to allow Sonny and Carly access to Michael. To have compassion; not be cruel. To “put down her weapons.” Nina gave grace to Carly who did the exact opposite when Willow was dying. Carly did everything she could to prevent Nina from seeing her daughter or her grandchildren. Carly tried to prevent Nina from even knowing Wiley is her grandson, which is why Nixon Falls with Nina even began.
It was Nina who gave Willow good advice, but Willow is still being a psycho who acts like Nina doesn’t exist. It’s cringe-worthy. Willow AND Carly want access to their children, and both tried to keep Nina from access to hers.
I swear. Being Willow’s mum is a thankless job. After Nina talked Sonny into letting Willow have her kids, her daughter runs past her into Drew’s arms giving him credit for Nina’s efforts. In addition to that, Nina talks sense into Willow telling her it goes against her nature to use Michael as a bargaining chip. She gets through to Willow but later she tells Chase she’s not going to listen to Drew or Nina. Hell is being Willow’s mother.
It’s beyond infuriating. WHY would the writers keep Nina on the outside time and time again.I guess having her in a coma for over twenty years of her life, having her children stolen from her at birth, searching for her child (when it was written she had only one) since she came out of that coma, being conned and then hurt by Sasha and Valentin that Sasha was her daughter, having psycho Nelle being her daughter only to kill her off before Nina had a chance to see if she could bond with and help her, having Carly find out, decide to never let Nina know about Nelle OR Wiley, have Harmony know Willow was Nina’s but kill to keep Nina from finding out, then passing the torch to Carly (what better torch?) to prevent Nina from ever finding out Willow is her daughter…to finally finding out, expressing all the love and support she has, only to rejected and thrown over for Carly, who lied to both Nina and Willow and treats Nina like crap. And now? She acts like Nina owes her; and then discards her. It’s emotionally abusive and upsetting to watch.
It is easier to realize the current writers have no logic…

Cameron Mathison may be unshaven for another part on a different show. He usually plays on several shows at the same time. I wish he would leave instead of Chad. I don’t like his acting.

Yes Billy Miller who played Drew & was on young & restless died by suicide in real life very sad apparently he suffered from depression & it seemed was very lonely there’s a saying everybody needs somebody to love ❤️ and be loved having a connection with other human being love ❤️ and support are vital & having that intimate relationship is part of life it adds meaning to your own. Seems he was missing that in his life and another actor who died from suicide was the one who played Nicholas (Tyler Christopher) there was news about his divorce & separation from children that may have added to the depression he felt so lonely that he drank himself to not waking up.

Did you read the actor who plays Drew really thinks he and willow should have the best romantic relationship on GH & show how they beat odds that are stacked against them. While none of the viewers want it. I’m wondering if this has any kind of his own personal separation in real life. I’d watched him on All my children he played Ryan & he’s a very good actor. ALso on many Hallmark movies. But I don’t like how they’ve changed Drew now this isn’t appealing to anyone that knows how hurtful cheating is & more when this person portrayed bedding mother & daughter it’s very sick. So that needs to be changed. I’m not sure how that’s possible to be redeemed. Like found he likes younger version or more innocent is creepy and his ego way to big it’s nasty.
If you watched All My Children, there was Tad who slept with both Liza & her mom. He was a redeemed character. He went on to have a great love story with Dixie. Remember, they are just actors ~ doing good or evil is all up to the writers.
Tad (also known as Tad the Cad) was a teenager when he slept with Liza’s mother. Drew is a fifty something congressman and father. No comparison.

Especially if he has this heart attack plus doesn’t Carly have a young daughter with Sonny. Donna I think shouldn’t she be there raising her & Avery. I know Ava wants her child back & so she’s going to be fighting to get Avery so I can’t see Carly being in Germany full time with Michael but she can go in transfer & Jack Brennan will follow maybe they get Romantic there & return back to port Charles when Carly hears of Sonny’s heart ❤️ attack issues & is in hospital at GH which could set up to frame Cyrus who will try to kill him like he had done to Sam & Dex & tried to do to Michael. Then Cyrus will be sent away prison for life.

I doubt Carly will be going to Germany unless Laura Wright is taking a break from the show. However, if she were to leave, Avery is not hers. She’s Ava’s; always was. Carly’s not even legally her stepmother anymore. Avery should be shared between Sonny and Ava. I’m so sick of Carly and Sonny taking kids away from their parents: AJ, Nina, Ava. It doesn’t end.

First of all he wouldn’t be able to wake up without being really groggy, in pain and make a decision like that. Secondly if Willow is in control of his care, why is Carly talking to him about it or have both women in the room for the discussion. I find there are many things that don’t fit in the scenes since the new writers came in. They need to think things out more. They have changed Drew too much, from so sweet to unbearable.
Willow and Sonny chose to let Carly talk to Michael about where he wanted to go. I don’t think it would’ve been a good idea for Willow to be in there been that her and Michael are going through something.
The writer is the same. Chris Van Etten waa fired and hired back three months later. His co-writer has been a breakdown writer on GH for decades.
I’m glad they aren’t killing him off.
John Hopkins is the choice that provides more story options for the return/replacement of Chad Duell & for Laura Wright, unless the plan is to reduce her status. Can’t imagine her leaving her girls behind for a long period of time unless the plan is for her character to somehow be apart of getting Charlotte back.

He can go to his bedroom and still be off the show for years, lol. Monica (may Leslie Charleson RIP) wasn’t seen for years. Lulu was in a coma about an hour from Port Charles. Nikolas is in a nearby prison and we never see him. The location of these characters makes no difference.

I don’t think it matters where Micheal goes, it’s too soon to fix any scars, because they haven’t formed yet. He is still healing. And the most important thing is for him to recover and heal any internal injuries before worrying about repairing scars, and range of motion, that the scars can impair, so mobility should be a concern before the scars. Who are the medical consultants on this show anyway?

He will choose to be sent to Germany. Or pain and his heavy medication overcomes his clarity to communicate his decision. Carly claims he agreed he wants to be sent to Germany to receive the best chance of scarring. He will exit the show due to distance life moves on in Port Charles.
Talk is Laura Wright (Carly) may be leaving GH in February, so maybe they are both going to Germany and be off the Grid for a few months or so and perhaps both characters will be recast. Just my thoughts.

I do not like any of the new storylines. Nothing against the actors. I just do not understand why no couples can be happy anymore. Dex and Joss, Michael and Willow. I really wanted Sasha with Cody. Now they will put a wedge between Chase and Brooklyn. The writers suck. Need some good couples. I actually was hoping that Jack Brennan would end up being a good guy and hook up with Carly or her and Jason again. Maurice will retire, which will be tragic for the show. So once he dies on the show more than likely Jason and Carly will get together.
Jason and Carly should become the GH power couple. They evidently love one another very much, and always put each other first, by trying to do what they feel is right for the other. They are awesome together.

Dex needs to be brought back, even if he has to be a recast. Make sure it’s someone that has the same spark with Joss as the original Dex.

Hopefully he goes to John Hopkins. The characters face doesn’t have to be shown. Laura Wright please don’t leave the show. However if she does, Nicki Deloach would be a great replacement. She is an awesome actress and can really give those Carly looks. She and Jason would make a great couple.

I think because Chad will be taking time off to properly grieve his father’s loss, he will choose Germany so he can heal away from home until he’s ready to return and while I send him my deep condolences I pray he will return in the not so distant future rest and be well Chad and bring back Michael to hopefully join with Willow and be done with Drew

The Critics Choice Association (CCA) revealed the nominees for the eighth annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards on Thursday, which recognize excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms. Winners will be announced online at CriticsChoice.com on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 9:00am PT/12:00pm ET.

Taking to his Instagram to celebrate the nominations, GH’s Bennett, enthused, “3 Critic Choice Nominations! I’m so proud of the FINDING MR CHRISTMAS and to be in the company of all the legends in all these categories is so surreal! Congrats to Hallmark Channel and to our nominated cast and nominated show and everyone who made this magical show possible. This is crazy! This gives FMC 6 Critics Choice nominations in 2 years. Not bad for a little show on Hallmark Channel. What are your thoughts on our show?” Jumping first into the comment thread was one of his new GH co-stars, Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) who expressed, “Yeah buddy!!!🔥🔥”
In the series, Bennett, the host and co-creator spends eight weeks guiding 10 aspiring actors through a series of “festive face-offs” and acting challenges alongside actors like soap opera notables, Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) and Alison Sweeney (Sami, DAYS). Along the way, they develop their skills and a bond with one another. The show, which is available on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Plus, highlights LGBTQ+ representation with openly gay contestants vying to be the next Hallmark star.
It should be noted that Traitors received the most Critics Choice Real TV Award nominations with 6 nods, followed by Dancing with the Stars with 4.
Bennett is very familiar to daytime fans having started his career as JR Chandler on All My Children in 2000-2001, before landing the part of Aaron Samuels in the motion picture, Mean Girls in 2004 starring Lindsay Lohan, which would become his breakout performance.

‘General Hospital’s’ Kelly Thiebaud on Britt and Cassius Sibling Drama, But Who Will Ultimately Blow His Cover?
On the April 30 episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) had some choice words and warning for her brother Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) who has been masquerading as his twin, the very dead, Nathan West.
As the story has unfolded, viewers learned that Britt knew all along that when “Nathan” showed up in Port Charles seemingly resurrected with a missing 7 years of his life unexplained, that Cassius was taking his place.
Now in developments on today’s GH, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is figuring out that this guy pretending to be Nathan is someone else, and Cassius learns from Britt, that Joss is not just a ditzy sorority girl as he claimed, but a WSB agent! The moment stuns Cassius. Are the walls about to close in on him and his charade?

Daytime Emmy winner, Kelly Thiebaud spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about the story point and getting the opportunity this time back at GH to work with Ryan Paevey, when she hadn’t had the chance to before.
BROTHERLY LOVE?
Thiebaud expressed on sharing scenes with Ryan Paevey, “It’s just been so wonderful to have him back and to actually work with him! When he first came onto the show (as Nathan at the end of 2013) I was kind of heading out — it was right towards the end of my contract, so we didn’t actually work together a ton. It’s been really refreshing and so much fun to really spend time together and get to know each other and work together. I think we have really great on-camera chemistry and banter with each other. I really enjoy working with him.”
With the stakes at an all-time, Thiebaud explained how she views her on-screen alter-ego’s involvement with her more hot-to-temper sibling and why Britt revealed the truth about Josslyn to him. “People finding out about Cassius would expose what she’s involved in and what she agreed to do,” explains Kelly “And now Josslyn is digging around, and she’s connected to Carly (Laura Wright) to Jason (Steve Burton) and that whole dynamic! It’s messy!”
BRITT’S MURKY FUTURE
Britt has currently also reached her breaking point with Jason being carted away by the WSB, Rocco (Finn Carr), the child she gave birth to, shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to protect her and Jason, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) being killed after trying to help her, and Cullum holding over her head getting her Huntington’s disease medication to control her symptoms, while blackmailing her into finishing the research on her father, Cesar Faison’s, final project. Thiebaud summed it up best for Britt right now, sharing, “It’s been a really tough time for her.”

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Michael Reveals His Plan to Set Up Chase and Willow to Have an Affair
After the Wednesday, April 29 episode of General Hospital, it’s clear outside interference and other circumstances are set to blow Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) marriage sky high, as Michael (Rory Gibson) reveals his plans to entrap Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and use her relationship with Chase to do it!
In story, Michael dropped by unexpectedly to Carly’s (Laura Wright). A plotting Michael reveals his plan to nudge Willow and Chase into having an affair. Michael hopes it would create both a political and personal scandal, where Willow would lose her seat in congress. In the scenario, she would be having an affair with her ex-husband, while taking care of her supposed disabled husband, Drew (Cameron Mathison), who cannot speak and is confined to a wheelchair, which in turn will look horrible for Willow’s character.
Carly asked does he really want to destroy his cousin, Brook Lynn’s life in the process? Michael goes in on Chase’s holier than thou attitude, and says he is going to set-up the circumstances that would lead Chase and Willow to betray their spouses, and hit the sheets together. Michael swears to Carly what the two of them do is up to them, but he’s going to go on the offense with this.
MICHAEL HAS BACK-UP
Later, Jacinda (Paige Herschell) is talking with Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) at Crimson and how much she dislikes Willow because of what she has done to Michael. Just then, Michael shows up and tells Jacinda privately, he’s figured out a way to fight Willow. Looks like Jacinda might work with Michael to bring down Willow and use Chase as the person to do it!
At the hospital, Lucas (Van Hansis) tells Josslyn (Eden McCoy) that Carly is cheating on Jack, but he doesn’t know with who. Josslyn suddenly flashes back to the moment she found her mother harboring a fugitive, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), in her attic, and as figured out that her mother is sleeping with him. She heads out.

BRENNAN IS ABOUT TO LEARN ABOUT CARLY
Next thing you know, Josslyn has showed up inside Jack’s (Chris McKenna) hotel room at the Metro Court and when he enters his room, he is shocked to find her there. He lays into her for not keeping his distance and that Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) will have no problem killing her if he knows she’s WSB. Josslyn fires back that he is only concerned about that because his relationship with her mother depends on her being safe. But then, she lays the boom, and tells Jack, Well, you’re too late. You already lost her.”
LULU GETS A GLIMPSE OF CASSIUS’ TEMPER
In addition, Lulu (Alexa Havins) sees a different side of “Nathan.” Since she is unaware that the man before her is his twin, Cassius Fasion (Ryan Paevey), he tells her that Rocco (Finn Carr) blabbed that he shot Cullum to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), and now he thinks they should send him away to stop him from talking to everyone else. This concerns Lulu, who rails at Nathan for telling her what to do with her son and that she isn’t going to abandon him. With “Nathan’s” outburst at her on the matter, will she finally get a clue this is not the man she thinks it is?
