GENERAL HOSPITAL: Violet Shares Emotional Goodbyes; Lucky Begs Isaiah to Save Lulu
On the Monday, October 21st episode of General Hospital, you may have needed the hankies, as Violet (Jophielle Love) said her goodbyes to the Q clan as she heads to Seattle to be with her dad, Finn, who after getting out of rehab has found a job there.
The sad goodbyes begin when Tracy (Jane Elliot) arranges a final tea party for Violet, since her plane is delayed. Now sitting in the living rom and using Lila’s best china, Tracy tells Violet that she talked to her dad and he is very excited about their new job and their new home.
Violet says she’s excited, but she’s going to miss Tracy and everyone so much. Tracy tells Yuri to pack up the china so Violet can take it with her, but Violet tells her she needs to leave a tea cup behind for Tracy for when they video chat with each other. Later, Chase (Josh Swickard) tells Violet the car is packed and they’re ready to head out. Violet asks if they can visit grandpa Gregory’s dedicated bench before she leaves.

In the emotional high point, Violet wants to leave Bella with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) for their new baby. She wants Chase and Brook Lynn to have a girl because they were are good with them. Next, Violet whispers to Brook Lynn, “Can I tell you a secret? You’re the one I’m going to miss most.” The two hug it out leaving both Brook Lynn and Violet in tears. As they say their final goodbyes, Brook Lynn tells Violet she loves her all the way to the moon and back. Violet tells Tracy she knows this is Monica’s house, but, “you make it feel like home.” Chase exits with Violet. Tracy and Brook Lynn hug it out as they begin to cry. Once outside, Violet tells Chase that she’s ready.
At General Hospital, Laura (Genie Francis) and Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) receive bad news from Terry (Cassandra James) on Lulu’s slim chance at survival from the liver transplant now that they have discovered a major complication. It seems that Lulu has developed portal vein thrombosis, which means there’s a blood clot in the vein delivering blood to the liver, and that it will have to be cleared in the surgery which, in turn, drops Lulu’s chance of survival dramatically.

Laura says without the surgery Lulu will die. Terry informs Laura and Lucky that the surgery will likely not save Lulu. Now, they have to also inform Sam of the risks, so she can make a decision if she is up to going through with the transplant surgery knowing the murky outcome. As it turns out, no one at thospital has performed a surgery under these circumstances, which in addition, decreases Lulu’s chances even more.
Lucky has an idea and finds Isaiah at the nurses station talking to Lucas (Van Hansis) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), as they are still going over how Lulu’s ventilator got messed up. Lucas is concerned for Lulu even more after checking an update on the computer system. Now in the stairwell, Lucky asks Isaiah, if he ever performed a transplant surgery on someone with portal vein thrombosis? Isaiah says he has and it worked out OK, but he has quit surgeries like this after losing another patient; which is why he wound up in Africa in the first place.

Next, Lucky’s tells Isaiah he is not asking him to save Lulu, but to just try. Lucky demands that Isaiah either tell him there’s no hope for Lulu, or to at least try to save her. Meanwhile, Laura is in the hospital chapel with Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) lamenting on the latest news on Lulu’s condition and hoping and praying that Sam (Kelly Monaco) will still agree to donate her liver, even if Lulu’s chances of survival are slim to none.
Now, Sam is telling Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Jason (Steve Burton), the fathers of her kids, that she is about to have the surgery to save Lulu. Both men say they will do whatever it takes to watch over the children while she is recuperating in the hospital. But,what will Sam do when she finds out the latest complication that could arise during the transplant for Lulu? Will she still go through with it? At the end of the episode, Lucky brings Isaiah to the chapel and tells Laura, he may have a way to save Lulu. We fade to black.
So, did you guess all along that Isaiah would be the one to operate on Lulu? What did you think of the final scenes of Jophielle Love as Violet? Will you miss her on the soap? Comment below.
Jophielle is such a wonderful young actress with real depth of emotions.
Sad to see sweet little Jophielle Love leave the show. What a bittersweet goodbye this was. Such a promising talent she is. I wish her the best. I hope they have Violet return for a holiday visit.
As soon as I heard Dr. Finn got a job in Seattle… I said, I wonder if Michael Easton will show up on Grey’s Anatomy, which is filmed on the same lot as General Hospital!! That would be wonderful for ME/Dr Finn and their fans. Be very easy for any crossovers too.
It’s not that simple to do a crossover even though both GH and Grey’s are both on ABC. GH is wholly owned and produced by ABC. Grey’s is a joint production of Shondaland, Lions Gate and Disney affiliate 20th Television. Can’t see Shonda agreeing to use a GH character- although it would be a great crossover.
GH and Grey’s share some of the same medical equipment for props.
Why can’t Brooklyn and Chase adopt her.
Gh won’t be the same with her. Don’t let her go. I love her she has such a great relationship with Tracy and Brooklyn and Chase. She is so good at making everyone feel loved, even the children.
I want Violet to STAY!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!!
So sorry to see this ” little ray of sunshine” leaving. So many lost characters in real life and in the GH storylines. A connection to the characters has been decades in the making is now lessening. Loved meeting many at the Soap Opera Weekend’s. Soaps are not what they used to be. Between all the newbies and unbelievable back stories being rewritten I am losing interest.
Agreed. And it makes me sad since I’ve loved GH since the Glory Monty days. It was a mistake to get rid of Gregory, Finn and Violet. I also think it’s a mistake to send off Curtis father and it was a mistake to send Blaze away. They have made room for this dreadful Holly/Sasha story. And the Lulu/Sam/Lucky story has been boring. As someone who loves GH legacy, I’m disappointed in how they’re being written in exchange for the above-mentioned send offs.
Violet didn’t even say bye to her aunt liz. young Johpielle as usual killed it, an unlike Lucky who drop water tears like crazy for anything at least young violet drop the tears accordingly. My vote for 2024 for most disappointing show for fans is in an GH wins there. All the people they have let go this year plus the all the returns have made it not worth it.
Good point about Elizabeth. Violet could be considered part of a legacy family (being the great granddaughter of Steve Hardy).
At some point, Aunt Elizabeth should’ve shown Violet the hospital memorial board with Dr Hardy at the top and explained the family relationship.
I remember when It was such a pleasure
and used to look forward to watching GH, for decades. Now, it’s become more like a job that I hate. Too many changes, too many storylines, usually , slowly wrapping them up or just dropping them. , favorite characters let go and new ones we could care less about. We didn’t need Rick, Natalia, LuLu, Lucas, Holly, another Robert’s surprise child, been there done that. The pleasure of watching is gone and so am I.
Jophielle is a treasure! Just reading this summary brought back tears and tissues. This special girl will have the ability to return to Port Charles anytime for major events – holidays, baby births, significant deaths, or other… GH did do a good job navigating her possible returns by having Violet stay with the Qs, establishing Violet in the Q mansion, aka Tracy’s “home” with Brook Lynn and Chase caring for her so that has provided a window for this loved character’s return, and we will most likely get a virtual tea party every once in awhile (fingers crossed).
I guess by now, Violet is with her dad. I’d read that there might be a plane crash in her future.

Maurice Benard Gives High Praise to ‘General Hospital’ Writers; Teases Upcoming Sonny Scenes with Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric

With the highly-anticipated returns of Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) on this week’s June 24 episode of General Hospital, Steve Burton’s (Jason Morgan) upcoming return on July 13, which also serves as the ABC daytime drama’s 16,000 episode, things are about to fire on all cylinders in the story, as noted today by series star, Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).
On Father’s Day, the three-time Daytime Emmy-winning actor and mental health activist took to his Instagram and expressed in a video that he has some unbelievable upcoming senes with the aforementioned Burton and Hughes. Add to that Nazneen Contractor (Justine Turner) and Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing), where Benard gave credit where credit is due to the GH writing team, which is led by co-head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten..
In this video, Benard said, “I just want to get on here and say that I did some work with Steve Burton, Finola Hughes, Rick Hearst, Nazneen Contractor, and they’re all just fantastic. Truly fantastic. But, I want to say the writing was just exceptional. It truly was. It was exceptional. So, thankful for that kind of writing. I know writers don’t get the credit a lot, but I just want to say to the General Hospital writing team, keep rolling!”
GENERAL HOSPITAL PREVIEW
So now the question becomes, with a major tease like that, what is about to go down between Sonny, Anna, Jason, Justine and Ric? Will we finally get to the end of the line for Sidwell (Carlo Rota), as previously teased by the GH co-head writers? Will we learn what happened to Jason and Anna, fully? Will Justine and Sonny becomes closer or stop their liaisons? And what of Ric? Will he be true blue to his brother or double-cross him? There is a lot at stake as we move further into the summer and one that looks like it could be one of the more exciting ones in years!
FINOLA HUGHES CONFIRMED AMAZING SCENES WITH MAURICE BENARD
As a punctuation point to his video, Benard also shared this written message in the post: “I just did some wonderful scenes with Steve Burton, Rick Hearst, Finola Hughes and Nazneen Contractor and and unbelievable writing, freaking amazing scenes that you will see in the near future on General Hospital.” In fact, Finola Hughes jumped in the post comment thread and responded, “I loved our scenes so much xxx”
Fans will most likely see all the scenes Benard referred to later in July, since GH tapes approximately six weeks ahead of air.
So, are you excited to see what Maurice is talking about? Are you hyped for what’s to come on GH? Any clue on what you think will go down between the main characters on the soap with the returns of Anna Devane and Jason Morgan to the mix? Weigh-in via the comment section below.

SINCE LEAVING GENERAL HOSPITAL
Previously, since his departure from the ABC soap opera. Chad starred alongside Zach Mendez in the world premiere of of Yum Yum at Annapolis, a new play written by Bruce Reisman. Duell last appeared on General Hospital on the January 21, 2025 episode.
The part was recast with Rory Gibson who debuted as the new Michael in May of 2025 during the Nurses’ Ball episodes and who has remained in the role since that time.
In an interview earlier this year on The Able Show, Duell said on his decision to exit the soap opera, “I was blessed to be part of that (show) for as long as I have, but what happens sometimes is if you’re doing the same thing, especially in a creative field for such a long time, you can get a little burnt out in a way. It can make you a little depressed, so that’s kind of what happened. On top of that, I had other things going on in my life at the time. My father passed away recently and I just needed a reset. So, I stepped away. A lot of times you have to go through some stuff to really step into that next level. I needed to kind of feel uncomfortable.”
So, what type of musical genre will Chad’s new song be? Country? Pop? Rock? Dance/Club? Something else? Let us know your thoughts via the comment section below, and if you are eager to hear the new single next week via the comment section below.
