On the Wednesday October 15th episode of General Hospital, while Ronnie Bard (Erika Slezak) was getting acclimated to Port Charles  willed Monica’s house, and continuing to be on the outs with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), several other major plot points developed.

First, Cody (Josh Kelly) found Ric (Rick Hearst) gagged and bound in the basement of Alexis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) house. Not knowing what the hell to think, Cody eventually freed Ric, which then, in turn, led to a massive showdown between Alexis, Ava (Maura West) and Kristina (Kate Manis). Cody is completely dumfounded as each accuses the other of blackmail, money laundering, cutting the brakes on Ric’s car and much more.

The women just need one more hour for the banks to set their accounts right from all the money Ric stole. Cody wants to leave all the crazy people to duke it out, and as he decides to get out of dodge, none other than Ric’s daughter, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) shows up at her mom’s front door, leaving everyone caught! How will Ava, Alexis, Kristina, Ric and Cody explain to Molly what has been going on between her dad, her mom, her sister and Ava? Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, at Steinmauer maximum security prison, it’s the return of James Patrick Stuart in the role of Valentin Cassadine. Brennan (Chris McKenna) brings Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) overseas to see him, while Lulu (Alexa Havins) shows up too. Before, Valentin can see Charlotte, Lulu has some choice words for him, but then she left him in on how their daughter is making friends and moving on with her life.

However, Lulu knows how close fathers and daughter’s are (just look at Luke and Lulu back in the day), so she does not want to cut Valentin and Charlotte off from each other. So, she lets Charlotte see her dad, which means everything to her.  While she is waiting to see Valentin, Charlotte tells Brennan that he deserves to be in prison as much as Valentin. She says her father never pretended to be innocent like Brennan tries to pull off.

Once alone with Charlotte, Valentin, in tears, is so happy to see her. He promises his daughter that he will released some day and they can be together again. Valentin also warns Charlotte she can’t trust Britt Westbourne and neither should Rocco. Next, and as Charlotte begins to fill him on if there is a certain boy she likes, their time is up.

Lulu tells Brennan she’s very angry for pushing to have Charlotte and Valentin meet, saying it puts a target on her back. Brennan says there will always be a target on Charlotte, because she is Valentin’s daughter.

At the very end of the episode, Brennan comes in to see Valentin alone. Brennan tells Valentin that he did exactly what he wanted to see his daughter, now he needs to live up to his part of their deal/exchange and that is to tell him everything he knows about the final project of Cesar Faison! We fade to black.

So, could it be that Valentin knows what has happened with Britt and Nathan? If there is a mastermind behind the final project of Cesar Faison, is it Faison himself who would then be alive, or someone else? Were you happy to see James Patrick Stuart back as Valentin? And, what did you think of the scenes when Ric has now been freed after being captive for weeks by Alexis, Ava and Kristina only to have Molly walk in on the scene? Share your theories in the comment section below. But first check out Ric’s rescue from today’s GH!

OT – an update on a former commenter:

Some had been wondering what happened to Violet Lemm, who frequently posted comments to this site over the past few years. Sad to hear (via Google) that Violet passed away last month at the age of 92.

Violet’s posts were thoughtful and to the point. She mentioned being in her 90s in her posts and wore her age with a badge of honor. We should all be so lucky to have a good run and be passionate about soaps still.

Rest in peace Violet.

Rest in peace Miss Violet.

RIP Violet – sending much love to her family and friends. She was a special contributor, so thank you OG for the update

Thank you so much for the update on Violet Lemm. I enjoyed reading her spirited comments very much. Hope her family know she will missed and remembered by her fellow soap fans.

@OG Steve, thank you for letting us know. Violet (and her posts) will be missed. Condolences to her family and friends.

Oh how sad. She was a feisty intelligent soul who got mad at me a few times but she was not one to hold grudges and could forgive and forget. Her opinions were valid, honest and insightful. What I appreciated about her the most was her sense of humor that merged with her big heart. Thank you for letting us know, Steve.

Cody and Rick need to have more scenes together. When Cody made that crack about maybe Rick and Alexis forgot the safe word…. Lol

All I can say is that the Awawaska Trip Cult explanation from Ric is absolutely hilarious!!! I’ve loved him since his GL Alan Michael days, and he is a treasure for daytime.

Steve, it’s quite sad to read this news. But I appreciate your announcing Violet’s passing here. I admire and echo your kind words about Violet. May her memory be a blessing… It should also be noted that, without seeing each other or knowing much in the way of personal details, we sometimes get snippets of personal glimpses, which may help us connect to each other. A kind word goes a long way. Cheers to Violet! And may we always be kind, as we would wish for others to treat us…

The background acting by Maura West and Nancy Lee Grahn was comedically fantastic while Rick was sputtering to come up with the Iowaska cult explanation to Molly. All around terrific acting by this crew. They are such fine actors and so enjoyable to watch, even in this ridiculous story. The joy of watching soaps is in these stories where we get to see such strong actors play together and make crazy stories work. The insertion of Cody into the mess made it even more fun to watch. I am now fully team Mody. I hope he tells her the truth soon!

I agree! It was hilarious from start to finish. With the witty snappy lines and the perfect delivery of the actors, this was one of the best storylines in years. I laughed uproariously when Ric grabbed Alexis’s phone and called Lizzy. Alexis grabs the phone while Ric screams,” Ahh! Help!” leaving Lizzy thinking Alexis called her just to scream. When Ric told Molly that he joined a cult, I lost it again. All of it was comedy gold perfectly punctuated by Cody’s incredulous expression.

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Nina is Frantic, Sonny is Mistrustful, Chase and Willow are Being Framed

The highly-anticipated Monday, May 11 episode of General Hospital picked right back up with the drama; which also sets the tone for today’s next installment of the ABC daytime drama series.

In another excellent performance by Daytime Emmy winner, Cynthia Watros, Nina is watching things unravel right before her eyes, and she is always playing defense to try to cover for the events that just transpired.

Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) ends up on the floor of Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) house unable to move after Nina injected him with the paralytic drug dose meant for Drew. Her intended target was Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), but during the Jack/Valentin Brawl, she struck the wrong guy! Valentin helps Nina turn Brennan on to his back and then makes his exit before anyone sees him as she calls the paramedics who rush Jack to GH.

MAN DOWN

In the meantime, Drew, who has overheard all the screaming in the other room, starts to have mobility in his hands and is trying to reach for the phone since his weekly dose went to Brennan instead of him. Now at the hospital, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) has questions for Nina on how Jack ended up like this; which Nina claims one minute they were talking and all of sudden he dropped to the floor.

A panicked Nina calls Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), who went out for a run and ran into Chase (Josh Swickard). She tells her daughter using cryptic words that Jack got the dose of meds meant for Drew. Alarmed, Willow runs back to Drew’s, but not before having conversations with Chase about how she will help ensure he and Brook Lynn have the best chance at keeping baby Phoebe, after all, they had been through so much when she lost their baby.

SNAPS TELL ALL?

The moments of closeness between Willow and Chase are snapped by a photographer or someone hiding in the bushes as it seems like Michael’s plan to implicate Willow and Chase by making it look like their having an affair is underway. How far will this go?

Meanwhile, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) went at Lulu (Alexa Havins) for keeping him in the dark about Rocco (Finn Carr) being the person who shot Cullum and their elaborate cover-up. Things get worse when Lulu mentioned “Nathan” also knows and helped Rocco the night on the pier of the shooting. Dante is livid that as Rocco’s father, she felt he could not be trusted, and it was for him to figure out how he would navigate the information to protect their son; even if he is the police commissioner. Lulu also shared she did not want to tell him, because of what happened when Michael went to prison all those years ago.

BROTHER TO BROTHER

At Ava’s (Maura West) art gallery, Sonny (Maurice Benard) with gun in hand, rails at Ric (Rick Hearst) for lying and deceiving him. Ric confesses he was being dishonest, but not about anything to do with Sonny or the business. He shows Sonny the secret art transaction he was working with Ava. The reason is, he wanted to surprise Elizabeth with it as they have a special weekend planned. Ric explained that the sale had to be be done covertly because of a legal conflict involving the seller’s divorce. Eventually, Sonny lowers his gun. Cooler heads prevail and the two brothers hope there will come a time where Ric’s loyalty to Sonny will never be in question.

Carly (Laura Wright) learns what happened to Jack from Valentin, and feels badly for Jack. Valentin also tells her Jack does not know where Josslyn is and now that he is incapacitated that means that Cullum will take over the day to day of the WSB bureau in Port Charles and things are about to get worse.

In the final moments of the episode, Willow runs into Drew’s house and stops Drew from dialing the phone near his wheelchair. She scolds her husband and says, “Looks like no one can be trusted to keep an eye on you except me.” we fade to black.

So, what did you think of the performance of Cynthia Watros? How much longer can Nina and Willow get away with what they have done to Drew and now Brennan? Elizabeth already mentioned to Lucas, what are the odds that two men have the same medical issue at the same house.  Are you glad Willow and Chase are being framed, or annoyed by it? Weigh-in via the comment section.  In case you missed it, check out the scenes below with Sonny and Ric, and Ethan and Ava.

‘General Hospital’s’ Jonathan Bennett Previews His New Role as PCPD Officer Joe Fitzpatrick

Published

Those expecting Jonathan Bennett’s new General Hospital character of Joe Fitzpatrick to be the latest doctor to arrive in Port Charles. Think again! When Joe arrives on the scene he will be an officer with the Port Charles Police Department (PCPD).

That might be good news for the police force, who has had a lot of trouble (pretty much always!) solving cases, and with Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) pretending to be cop, Nathan West, and Chase (Josh Swickard) working his back up the ranks, police commissioner, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) who could use a some helping hands, unless they are corrupt?

In the latest issue of TV Guide Magazine on newsstands now, Bennett shares a little more insight into what we can expect from Joe, when he first gets into the mix. You can circle next Monday, May 18 for the actor’s GH debut.

THE MYSTERY OF JOE

“Returning to daytime television was not on my bingo card for 2026.(However) I feel like I hit the jackpot when this opportunity came because the character is something that I really wanted to play.”

As soap fans know, Jonathan started his career on All My Children as JR Chandler from 2001-2002. Since that time Bennett went to fame with the motion picture Mean Girls, playing Aaron Samuels then continued on a path acting and producing and hosting where he had become a mainstay on the Hallmark Channel and Food Network. Bennett’s Hallmark reality-competition series, Finding Mr. Christmas was just nominated for three Critics Choice Real TV Awards.

Speaking on GH’s Joe and the PCPD, Bennett teased, “I’m feeling excited, and I’m also laughing because I can’t wait for the world to see what Joe Fitzpatrick is really all about.”

Could Joe Fitzpatrick be a closeted cop? An out cop? Neither? Will he be a good guy who might help crack the case of who shot Drew and help Willow get her comeuppance? Will he be investigating the shenanigans that might lead him into the path of Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis)? Share your thoughts and theories via the comment section below.
