On General Hospital, the reintroduction of Daytime Emmy-winner, Kelly Thiebaud has begun. On the Monday, July 21st episode of the ABC daytime drama series, viewers got another short glimpse of the Britt Westbourne doppelgänger … or is it?

As her story unfolds, Jason (Steve Burton) is still at the Paris airport insisting to the airline attendant that he needs to get on the plane before it takes off. He desperately needs to speak to a passenger, but Jason is out of luck as the door of the plane have closed, and they are about to take off.

Next, Jason boards a flight back to New York to return to Port Charles, and flashes back to some emotional moments between he and Britt including: when they went on the run together, Britt revealing her Huntington’s disease diagnosis, and how hurt she was when Jason told her he was going to marry Carly (Laura Wright) and the last time he saw an alive Britt back on Spoon Island.

Meanwhile, in Port Charles at the WSB Bureau office of Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) are talking about her not getting distracted over the fact that Brennan is dating her mother. Just then, Vaughn gets a call that the courier made a stop in Paris, but then took a flight to Dubrovnik. Cut to: Dubrovnik, Croatia. A woman who looks exactly like Britt steps out of a car and is welcomed back by a man and her response is, “It’s good to be back.” We fade to black.

As GH viewers know, this is not the first time that Thiebaud has made a return to the soap. She first appeared on GH back in 2012 and her character became known as the “Britch.” She exited the series in 2015, and returned again from 2017-18. Before now, her most recent run was from 2020-23. It was during her last stint on GH that Kelly took home the Daytime Emmy back in 2022 in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Drama Series category.

In a recent interview with TV Insider, Kelly looked back on her decision to exit, having the character of Britt killed-of, and her eventual move to London at that time. Thiebaud explained, “I did walk away from my last day on set thinking that I would never return, and that’s why I think coming back now has so many feelings attached to it.”

So, what is going on here? Is this a very much alive Britt? Is she working as a spy? Perhaps, a special op? What did you think of Jason’s wistful memories of his relationship with the believed-to-be-dead Britt? And, does Obrecht know that her Britta is actually alive? It would make sense for Britt to be alive, revived somehow by Liesl, who is now working with Professor Dalton to find a cure for Britt’s Huntington’s Disease at the lab in Croatia… a way to neatly tie all the stories together. There’s so much more story to tell with Britt, so it would be really disappointing if Kelly is playing a new character.

I’m glad to see this actress back but hopefully not as Brit. A new character would be great. I always felt she was talented.

Well it better be Britt. Because I paroled her from Hell, so she had to go somewhere, right?

And I’ve already given her air conditioned condo to Ozzy, so she wouldn’t want to come back now anyway.

So now you’re mixing a fictional character with the death of a music icon who struggled with a debilitating disease? Not sure if you actually think people find this amusing.

I don’t.

Had of it been anyone other than Ozzy Osborne, I would agree, poor taste. But given it was a guy who loved being called The Prince of Darkness, bit heads of bats and dove, referenced the devil or evil in all his music… I think the comment does have a hilarious standing and merit.

Steve did some beautiful work in this episode.

I think she is Brit’s twin.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital, new and old motivations come into play with dangerous consequences. According to the just released GH video spoilers video for the week of August 3-7, a bailiff calls out, “All rise!”

Now it’s Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) vs. Curtis (Donnell Turner), as the surgeon is suing the owner of the Savoy for assault that ruined is ability to operate. At the end of the day, which of these men has enough evidence against the other? Portia (Brook Kerr) is by Isaiah’s side, while Jordan (Tanisha Harper) is with Curtis.

Next, Lucy (Lynn Herring) has a plan to get the controlling shares of Deception away from Michael (Rory Gibson). She wants her daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger) to seduce Michael. She tells her, “Pick out your most seductive suit.” Soon, we see Serena in her bathing suit at the Metro Court face to face with Michael.

Later, there is a small baggie containing three blue pills. Nina (Cynthia Watros) ask Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), “What did you do?” We also see Michael asking the same thing of Jacinda (Paige Herschell). Leading into this week, viewers know that Willow doesn’t want the former escort anywhere near her children, Amelia and Wiley. Is this how she stops her, or is Jacinda up to old tricks and wants to frame Willow? Remember when Jacindsa drugged Drew (Cameron Mathison)? Stay tuned.

Finally, in the pick-up from last Friday’s cliffhanger, an emotional Jason (Steve Burton) continues to tell Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he cannot work for him anymore. Sonny ask, “So that’s it? You’re Out?” We fade to black.

Take a look at the official GH spoilers for the week below.

Vincent Pastore, best known for his memorable role as Salvatore “Big Pussy” Bonpensiero on HBO’s The Sopranos has passed away.

The veteran actor was found dead on August 1st in his home in the Bronx, New York. Pastore was 80-years-old. The cause of death is yet to be determined.

As well as his role on The Sopranos, many soap fans will recall he played multiple smaller roles on the beloved One Life to Live from 1995 and 2004. However, in 2008, he landed the short-term role as Maximus Giambetti on General Hospital.

PASTORE WANTED TO BE ON GENERAL HOSPITAL

Maximus was the mobster father of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bodyguards: Max (Derk Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood)

According to Soap Opera Digest, Pastore told Soaps In Depth back in 2009, after appearing in a SOAPnet promotional campaign as a celebrity fan of General Hospital: “‘I’d love to be on the show. So they called up GH’s casting director (Mark Teschner) and Bobby (Robert Guza Jr. ex-head writer, GH) and they wrote me in!”

Pastore was a huge General Hospital fan from way back, who at one point told producers that he would watch the ABC soap opera while working in bars and nightclubs in the 70s and 80s.

Throughout his decades long career, Pastore appeared in films including: Goodfellas, Carlito’s Way and Men of Respect, The Jerky Boys: The Movie and the 1996 HBO TV movie Gotti.

In TV, besides The Sopranos, Pastore’s credits included: Law & Order, The Practice, Son of the Beach, Queens Supreme, Hawaii Five-0, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, plus the miniseries The Last Don II. Most recently, Vincent was a series regular on Gravesend and guest starred on Yellowjackets.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, son-in-law and granddaughter.
