A lot of new faces for this pickup shoot! Was hoping we’d get some others in it, too! Maybe in early 2025 there’ll be a bigger shoot done!

Hopefully some of these make it into the opening credits. Storms is still using a photo from 6 years ago that doesn’t match the lighting/tone of the others. Burton needs an update, too.

Kirsten Storms is one of about four or five that need major updating, although, her’s is the longest-running photo that has not been changed.

Steve Burton was at the previous shoot, but they did not use his photograph.

Storms was at the previous 2-3 shoots and they didn’t use hers. That picture predates the current credit “flipping faces” format and originated in the “flying multiple character” slides.

Assume the actors get to choose if they want the updated photos to be used.

From the new shoot, the only one that looks better currently (than new) is Vaganos.

And I strongly believe the photo(s) were not used due to one specific issue, and it’s one I am not comfortable stating publicly. And actors don’t get to choose if their photos are updated; that is a decision ultimately made by Frank Valentini.

I understand the reason you are implying. And, why do you suspect that actors have no say in what photo is used?

Because, that’s not how it works at all.

I don’t watch Y&R, but recently caught their opening and it was beautiful. I love that the show still uses the original theme song and video montage of the cast as opposed. GH should go back to a similar format and bring back a revised version of the original theme song.

Love them. Looking forward to seeing them in the opening soon. What about James Patrick Stewart?

His was updated not that long ago. He also was on a break from the show in September when the photo shoot occurred.

This cartoon villain Sidwell is back? Is Ron C back as head writer too? Only this would explain GH in 2024.

He’s been back.

Oh no, are you serious?? He ruined Days. If he’s here, it’s not good news.

I was speaking about Sidwell; he’s been back already.

Carlivati hasn’t been on GH in years. Chris Van Etten is the one who was fired and then rehired three months later and is currently writing the show.

Rebecca, I’m well-aware. Again, I was speaking about Sidwell. I know the history of HW’s on this soap, thanks.

Your reply was not specific which is why a few of us thought you were referring to Carlivati.

Scott clarified that he was specifically speaking about Sidwell.

Not at the time I wrote my reply.

And A G A I N, I clarified it in response one-hour prior to YOUR comment. 😉

Not at the time I replied. Our comments both say “a day ago.” I have no idea what time you wrote you were talking about Sidwell but obviously if I’d seen that I wouldn’t have thought you were referring to Carlivati. I’m not going to debate this back and forth. It’s been clarified; your soap prowess is intact.

That sounds like a bad idea. Fired? And now he’s a writer?? Karma??

Co-writing with Elizabeth Korte.

ReRon is working on “Beyond the Gates” now, so he wouldn’t be competing with himself.

Though I don’t disagree that some of this recent out of character writing is reminiscent of his senseless garbage from 2012-2015.

The stuff playing out on Days of our Lives right now (thanks to their 9 months ahead taping schedule) is typical “end stage ReRon”. Every bit as awful as the “Fluke” story which got him fired from GH.

Sidwell was seen briefly last week sneaking into a church where Sasha was praying to my Former Employer about her baby. She apparently didn’t see him, but no doubt he will show up again soon and use this new information to his advantrage somehow. Using Sasha and her unborn child to get to Holly, most likely.

While I adore Michael Knight, I hate that his entry seems to come at the expense of Kin Shriner. Also, why is Natalia….?

As for Natalia, maybe Krissy will hire her as her bartender. Wish she’d just leave P.C.

I agree. She’s a useless character imo.

Yep

I like her. Sonny needs a new love interest and I think they’re paired well. And, I think her son will be coming to town soon and most probably will be Joss’s new love interest.

While I once liked Eva La Rue as Maria on AMC, I cannot stand Natalia. First, she was introduced as a homophobic bigot and then the writers tried to clean up the mess they made by referring to her as just “ old fashioned.” Second, she has no chemistry with Sonny. It’s clear that TPTB thought these two iconic soap stars would generate excitement but it’s been an epic thud as the two seem stiff and forced while interacting. Third, the actress has had so much work done that it has become distracting especially when she smiles. I fast forward through her scenes and luckily, she’s rarely on but that’s about to change because it looks like her son is arriving on the scene ( most likely the reason as to why they abruptly killed off Dex).

They didn’t make a mess. They were telling a story about a truth that happens in a lot of families. Not everyone was brought up to accept or understand gay people; not every parent accepts his or her gay child. This was a story about that. And though it triggered you and many others, it was realistic . And in that same story, this character grew. She got to see her daughter’s love for Kristina, she got to know Kristina, and her first-hand experience opened her eyes from what she was taught to feel or believe. The unrelenting ragging on this character from many in the gay community is beyond annoying. In real life, gay people are calling Hamas terrorists “freedom fighters” and spewing hate for Jews, but a character on a soap opera who “dares” to judge gay people is unforgivable. As a Jewish person I’d welcome an antisemite’s eyes being opened and his or her hate a thing of the past. There are former (very few I would imagine) white supremacists who once hated Jews and blacks who have changed their views when they got to know a people they judged, and feel completely differently today. Some people DO change and I for one welcome anyone who used to be a hater who isn’t anymore.

As for her looks? (Another hypocrisy you’re exposing about yourself. You’re allowed to judge the real person for her looks, but a fictional character can’t judge.) I think she looks great; the only thing that I noticed was it seemed to me she was spray tanned early on and looked three shades darker than she is. That was distracting to me. It was unnatural.

I agree that Natalia’s son is going to be arriving soon; probably a love interest for Joss. I like Natalia with Sonny. There’s something about them that works for me and actually I’d like to see more of them.

I think Rick Hearst comes at the expense of Kin Shriner. And while I always liked Scotty, I’d take Rick Lansing any day. A way more interesting character and romantic lead. “Scotty’s” been nothing but a goofball for years. He just pops in with some silly comments and an occasional court case which is never written well. Ric is much more believable and his stories much better written.

Looking forward to watching in 2025!

Ava needs a new pic

Yes Maura West (Ava) does, but she wasn’t at the pickup shoot.

I wonder why maura west wasn’t there? I surely hope they are not firing her.

No, they aren’t. It was a pick-up shoot for those missing from the last shoot/new cast members, and then some updates from those who were filming that day.

So does Felicia! I didn’t care for her current pic, or Molly’s, but I see that Molly’s has been updated! Yay!

Do not like the recast of Lucas. He’s terrible and doesn’t fit.

Many feel the opposite. Hansis is a good actor and brings a new depth to Lucas.

What does that mean, “he doesn’t fit”?

I don’t either. He comes back suddenly and we’re all expected to accept him interacting with established characters like he’s been there for years when we’ve lost cast members we’ve had long histories with.

I agree that Lucas doesn’t fit the part of a doctor and he comes back as if he never left. Speaking of never leaving, do the writers think that, we, their viewers, are so stupid to believe that Lulu came back from being in a coma for four years and almost immediately gets out of bed, steals cloths and hitches a ride to Port Charles! Really, how gullible do you think we are?!!

It’s hardly the actor’s or character’s fault that other cast members were let go. And the character of Lucas has known many of the current characters for years. Their relationships are perfectly normal for the situation.

But the cast characters aren’t the ones watching. It’s us fans. Without us, they’re is no show.

I don’t understand this response. Lucas has strong connections and history with Bobbie, Carly, Willow, Michael, Sam, Brad, Wiley and of course, Ava. And the actor has slipped seamlessly into this part without skipping a beat. He’s natural, affable and so good you DON’T see that he’s acting. I don’t get not liking him.

He’s family.

For some reason, autocorrect wants to make me use all caps when I write a certain word. I DON’T know why! It makes me sound more obnoxious than I usually do.

I love this Lucas. He fits the part so much better

No new photo of Cody , that sexy man ???

I want to see Cody and Sasha after we find out Robert isn’t her dad

Robert ran a DNA test, Yes he’s her Father

I’m not so sure. As soon as Holly found out about the test she was on the phone asking someone for a “favor”.

Looking good! So happy to have Michael Knight back on the show!

I might be uncle sunny or it could be ric ma that haha peterson

Not looking forward to 2025 as GH has been dismal in ratings, casting, and storyline in 2024. The opening sequence pics will NOT save this show. Good luck!

No more dismal than the other soaps. Y&R & B&B, which I can only watch for 10 mins.

Yes, you got that correct, all the soaps are “reaching”. Good actors, bad story lines. Earlier this year Y&R really became “stuck on stupid,” it’s not just GH.

I thought there would be an update on the opening credits of the show

New photos started appearing on the January 2 episode. Isaiah was included for the first time while Dante, Anna and Curtis had updated pics.

Hoping Isaiah is a son or at least relative of RJ Gannon from OLTL!

That would be the ultimate slap in the face to GH fans. They had the opportunity to introduce a “new” character and make him a true “legacy kid”, Thomas Hardy Jr, the grandson of Steve & Audrey, the OG lead characters of GH.

Instead they give him the name of an OLTL family. After wasting an entire decade trying to force OLTL into the middle of GH by giving their favorite pets from that show multiple failed characters.

I’m OK with the character of Isaiah, but let’s just leave him without any family for now. And assume the name is just a coincidence. Like that cop Maxie dated for a while whose last name was “Barrett” but had no apparent relation to Brenda or her family.

That would be a kick Shari. I’d definitely tune into GH for that. I’d love to see ole RJ again. He could be so funny at times, i.e. horizontal mambo. Timothy D Stickney was outstanding as that character.

I miss sam

Would much rather have Evan Hofer’s pic instead of half these people!!!

Lucky and Elizabeth!

OMG, those two sad-sacks? They never change, even hair the same. lucky needs a hair do over, like a grown up, so sick of his messy, scraggly hair.

So grown ups can’t have longer hair? guess I missed that memo for myself.

No shots of Rocco, Danny or Lulu? They are all so good and need to be featured!

They were not at the studio the day of the shoot; it was done prior to Alexa Havins Bruening’s first day on set.

Great pics! I look forward to seeing them in the new line up. Folks are right. There are a few “stinkers” in the lineup that need refreshing. Hope they get on top of that soon so that there’s consistency in the picture quality.

I don’t see Sonny listed does that mean he dies from heart attack?

I want Sasha to tell Michael that she is pregnant. I want a storyline that has him including her in his life.

Michael Knight Still looks rather yummy as a silver Fox

They need to Jackson back. He was easy on the eyes, him and Carly looked good together ❤️ .

I am beyond happy that Rick Hearst is back and surprised he’s stayed this long since he lives in New Jersey. I adore him as Rick. Hope they keep him around…

And, though I’ll admit if it turns out I’m wrong, it seems it’s been pretty obvious for months now that Gio is Brook Lynn and Dante’s son, unbeknownst to anyone but Lois.

It’s time they update the cast photos in the opening. There are a lot of actors that are not shown.

Past few shoots have not been done for the opening; I do believe this shoot was more opening-focused, though.

Portia’s dress is ugly and non-flattering.

Great photos! I wish GH would return to using video montage and updated version of the pervious theme song during the opening credits as opposed to the format they use now.

Iam waiting for Isaiah GANNON to be or not
be tied to the OLTL GANNONS??? And I am so digging him and Jordan.

Lulu?

GENERAL HOSPITAL: Emma Wants to Save Anna, Isaiah’s Career is All But Destroyed, Joe Makes an Arrest

Published

The Monday, May 18 episode of General Hospital brought with it a startling discovery, a new reality for one surgeon, a new cop on the scene, and a granddaughter determined to protect her grandmother.

First, Laura (Genie Francis) tells Mac (John J. York) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) that Anna (Finola Hughes) is in worse trouble than she was previously after she had Kevin to check on her while he was in Europe. They head out to update Emma (Braedyn Bruner) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner).

Meanwhile, Emma gets upset over Anna during a discussion with Felicia and breaks Anna’s favorite coffee cup. Emma is overcome with sadness and cries, trying to figure out how she is supposed to be so happy with Gio (Giovanni Mazza), while Anna is locked away somewhere against her own will.

BAD NEWS FOR EMMA

Laura and Mac arrive to talk with Emma and Felicia, and reveal how Anna escaped and made it to the border, but she was now in the custody of the French authorities and they are transferring her to a long term mental illness facility, which freaks out Emma just as Gio arrives. Emma runs into his arms. Laura says at this point, Anna needs a strong advocate and she will make a call on her behalf. (But to who?)

At the Metro Court pool, Curtis (Donnell Turner) is arrested by Detective Joe Fitzpatrick (Jonathan Bennett) after throwing a punch at Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson). Joe takes Curtis to the station where Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) tells Fitzgerald to remove Curtis’ handcuffs. Now inside the interrogation room, Curtis explains that he believes Isaiah left he and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) dead at the side of the road the night of the accident and provoked him.

BROKEN HAND, BROKEN MAN

Curtis just wants to put it all behind him and says he will pay for Isaiah’s medical bills, but Dante informs him, he is trouble and he needs to call a lawyer. So, he calls Jordan. Meanwhile, Isaiah gets looked at while at General Hospital, and his hand is messed up. He comes to learn he will need multiple surgeries not only for broken bones but two tendons were severed in the process. Isaiah realizes his surgical days are numbered possibility forever, if not for a very long time.

JOSSLYN FINDS ANNA’S MESSAGE

While being held hostage, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) tries again to convince Cassius (Ryan Paevey) to set her free. That leads into the two playing cards and Cassius asking Josslyn how she got into the WSB. Josslyn admits her boyfriend was murdered and she killed the person who was the culprit for retribution. She says she put together all the pieces that he did the crime, and now this line of work gives her purpose.

In the shocking final moments, after Cassius leaves for the night, Josslyn heads to the cot in the other part of the holding room and sees a hand-carved message on the wall from Anna that she was there and help captive on October 31, 2025.  We fade to black.

So what did you think of the concern Emma showed for Anna, and the performance of Braedyn Bruner? What are your very initial impressions of Jonathan Bennett as Joe Fitzgerald? Which character is annoying you more in the story …  Curtis, Jordan, Portia or Isaiah? Weigh-in via the comment section.

This week on all-new episodes of General Hospital investigations, protection modes and conflict are the order of the day. In the just released ABC promo for the soap opera entitled “Held Captive,” first Lulu (Alexa Havins) is preparing to flea the country with Rocco (Finn Carr) if necessary including having passports ready and their bags packed.

However, with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) having full-knowledge of Rocco shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and his own desire and plan to keep his son safe right in Port Charles, he firmly tells Lulu,“You will make my son a fugitive over my dead body!”

Meanwhile, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) is trying to find a way out of captivity and as she moves her bed she finds a shocking message,“Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was held captive here. I was taken on 10-31-25.” Suddenly, Josslyn is so panicked and determined. She tells herself she is going to get out of there. Next, we see her smashing a chair into someone’s face! Well, in an additional newly released clip featuring Bennett in his debut episode on Monday, it’s clear that Detective Fitzpatrick is looking into Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Isaiah’s (Sawandi Wilson) altercation at the Metro Court Pool when he says, “What are the chances Ashford talks his way out of an arrest? ‘General Hospital’s’ Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna Deliver the ‘Power Performances of the Week’

Published

on

By

The on-screen father/son combo of General Hospital’s Dante and Rocco Falconeri as portrayed by Dominic Zamprogna and Finn Carr were part of high emotional stakes scenes on episodes airing May 11-15.

First, Finn Carr’s Rocco is so guilt-ridden and burdened with the secret that he shot WSB director, Ross Cullum that it’s eating him alive. So much so, that he gets into a heated argument with Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn). Rocco feels so badly that Danny’s father was taken from him for parts unknown by the WSB, all because Jason refused to implicate Rocco as the shooter.

In a heartbreaking scene, Rocco shows up at Britt’s door and lets her know he can’t take it anymore and that the secret he is keeping is tearing him apart. The fear is palpable in Rocco’s eyes. Britt calls Rocco a hero for saving her life and Jason’s and he has to remember that. Britt hugs him and promises that he can come talk to her anytime. In that moment, Rocco felt seen and felt safe.

Courtesy/ABC

ROCCO ON THE EDGE

All of the beats mentioned above were played with depth and acting maturity by Finn Carr; that it is so very clear why the writers and the producers are so comfortable giving him the ball in this umbrella story. He steps up to the plate every time and hits it out of the park.

Rocco also overheard his parents fighting over him after Dante figured out that Rocco was responsible for the shooting, and confronted Lulu (Alexa Havins) for withholding the truth from him. As their argument escalated and their relationship was further threatened by the lies, Rocco listened to the whole thing from the outside porch.

Eventually Dante, who had learned the truth by having Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) help him piece together what happened the night Cullum was shot, has a heart to heart with his son. He asks Rocco to tell him in his own words the events that transpired, and promises Rocco, that even though he is the police commissioner, he is going to help him. Rocco goes step by step over how Cullum was about to strike Jason with a weighted-baton and how the gun was loose on the ground and he shot him. Dante says his actions saved Jason and Britt’s life, and that he is going to help his son from here on out. He just wished everyone had come to him sooner, because as the father it’s his job to protect his son, not the other way around.

DANTE COMES TO TERMS

Still later in the week, Dante is visited by Elizabeth, and they discuss how they are going to cover-up any evidence that Rocco was at the hospital the night of the shooting with a hand injury, and that Dante is going to make sure the evidence against Rocco disappears. Something that is a huge disconnect for anyone that knows what a fine and upstanding cop Dante has been through the years, but he is determined to help his son stay safe and to keep him close.

However, Cullum is on the hunt for said evidence, and thinks Danny may have shot him in the back (or does he … and he knows Rocco shot him?). He visits Dante’s office and wants the evidence in the shooting. Meanwhile, bets are we are a few story beats away from Danny learning Rocco shot Cullum.

Throughout all the material given to Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna they rose to the occasion. Finn, getting the opportunity to play the often uptight Rocco on the edge, and Dominic, showing us how he can make us feel what Dante is feeling just by watching the emotion and hurt in his eyes. Therefore, Michael Fairman TV names Finn Carr and Dominic Zamprogna our picks for the Power Performances of the Week.

Now below, let us know if you agree with our picks of Finn and Dominic as the standout performances of the week, and if so, what moment really tugged on your heartstrings featuring Rocco and/or Dante via the comment section.
