‘General Hospital’s’ Rocco to Lulu: “Tell Me About Britt Westbourne?” What Do You Predict Her Answer Will Be?

This week on all new episodes of General Hospital, viewers of the ABC soap opera will get the pick-up from the Thursday, July 3 cliffhanger where Rocco (Finn Carr) bursts into Lulu’s (Alexa Havins) home and blindsides his mother, when he demands her to, “Tell Me about Britt Westbourne!” Lulu’s face is one of confusion and shock.

Now, the question is, can Lulu explain to Rocco the truth about Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) carrying him to term and everything that happened before and after, or will she sidestep the entire saga and focus on why and how Rocco found out about Britt in the first place? Coming up on the Monday, July 7th episode, GH spoilers tease that Lulu is enraged.

As we know, Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Rocco came upon the file that had Rocco’s name on it, and not having a full understanding of all it means, have been trying to piece it all together including, speaking with Emma Drake (Braedyn Bruner), who strongly urges Rocco to get the answers from his parents.

Meanwhile, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) fessed up to Maxie (who saw the file) that she wanted to get revenge on Lulu, but decided against it and never showed Rocco the file or put somewhere for him to find (little does she know, he already found out).

Now, will Lulu explain the complicated back-story to Rocco of how: Britt stole one of Lulu’s frozen embryos, then impregnated herself, passed the pregnancy off as Patrick Drake being the biological father to nab him from Sabrina Santiago. Eventually, when it’s proven Patrick is not the father, Britt says Brad Cooper is the bio-dad.

Later, Britt admits to Nikolas she used “an anonymous sperm donor,” who later turned out to be Dante. After giving birth to the child, she names him Ben. Then, a year or so goes by until all of Britt’s lies come out and Lulu’s gets her to confess the truth.

Now, with Daytime Emmy-winner Kelly Thiebaud on her way back to GH to play, what many presume will be a very much alive Britt Westbourne, will the writers change the story somehow, and some of these previous believed facts or story points will have been altered to drive new story or will they remain the same? Stay tuned.

So, place your bets! Will Lulu tell Rocco some of all of the complete truth about Britt Westbourne? Will she try to get out of the conversation? Share your theories via the comment section below.

It’s 666% ridiculous that BrookLynn would dredge this up and try to use it against Lulu, as some sort of half-assed “revenge” plot for Lulu’s ill-timed slip at the Nurses Ball about Gio’s parentage.

First of all, it’s not remotely the same situation. BrookLynn chose to put her kid up for adoption (though she didn’t know her mother & grandmother conspired to keep the kid “in the family” his whole life). Lulu had both of her embryos STOLEN and had absolutely no say in how either of those kids eventually came into the world.

As to why Lulu never told Rocco this story… well let’s think about that… Oh yeah, maybe because he was about 4 years old when she became a comatose vegetable? A little hard for her to have that conversation. Arguably, Dante might have told him about it when he was a little older, but what would have been the point.

Obviously this is a thinly disguised plot point, so the new writers can “introduce” the character of Britt Westbourne to any newer audience members (how many have there been since the “Hooker” killings, exactly??) so they aren’t completely lost later this month when Britt’s parole from Hell becomes official and she resurfaces in Port Charles.

Your math ain’t mathin

How so? Explain it to me like I’m the mathematically challenged person that I am because it makes perfect sense to me.

I think it the part about Rocco being 4 yrs old when Lulu went into her 4 yr coma. That math would put Rocco at age 8… but we all know it soap opera math that doesn’t add up.. I’m sure your math skills are perfect Harry.

Rocco was SORASed significantly while Lulu was in veggieland. Not like that’s anything unusual in Port Charles of course. But the fact remains, he was still a very young child before she went into the coma.

It was Richard’s take on the math I was referring too, not yours. You are a solid rock of GH history Satan.

Love Kelly but how can Britt be alive, hope they do not change backstory what the have can be great drama

I would love for Kelly to come back at Britt and have her and Steve Burton/Jason revisit their burgeoning feelings for each other. They have great chemistry and Jason need to have his own storyline without Sonny or Carly.

By the end of the week, we’re likely to see someone who at least resembles Britt on screen.

Did anyone catch Lulu mentioning The Landview Banner? Makes me hopefully Ericka Slezak will be Vicki

I know in soap-land someone can be brought back to life after being killed by a crazy person with a hook. But how will they write their way out of the terminal, incurable illness she already had? You know, the illness to which Jason helped her come to terms. Anyway, I hope they manage to pair her with Jason again in some way. Their chemistry was outstanding.

As Whoopi Goldberg said in Soapdish “how am I supposed to write for a man without a head?”

There’s still a strong possibility KT will be a lookalike, clone, long lost twin etc.

Ha!ha!ha! I had forgotten about that. What a great quote that is applicable to all soaps and to all time periods. That’s a mainstay of the soap genre for over 50 years.

You don’t think Faison or someone who works for him couldn’t forge the results of a medical test? Probably as a means of manipulating his daughter.

Just a guess really. Britt didn’t spend much time with dear old dad while she was down here. Faison doesn’t see a lot of people now that he’s literally brainless. Just sits around watching FAUX News and reality TV all day

Anyone else bored with them putting Lulu and BrookLynn against each other? And Emma and Joss? And if that wasn’t redundant enough now it’s Jordan against Portia. Did the female writers quit? I know the stories are supposed to be farfetched but come on. Get creative.

Don’t forget the granny wars – Carly v Nina. At least they stopped the Ava v Nina battle before it (re) began.

Yes, bored with all of it. Portia is acting like a 13 year old mean girl, not a forty- something professional woman. And Curtis, who has harbored great secrets himself, constantly acting like the hard ass of secret keeping is not only dull, it’s ridiculous. Jordan ought to run, not all away from that mess.

Amen. Stop all the female fighting

Dont forget Sasha VS Willow, poor willow is going crazy and now everyone is too, and where the heck is this supposed night nurse? she needs to keep and eye on baby daisy when Mama Sasha isn’t around. Also if Sasha is so worried about the baby, a simple solution is to sleep in the same room with the new born baby and when she’s not around, have the so called night nurse be with her.

Yes Lulu will reveal Britts role in his birth. She will ask him how he discovered Britt having carried him and raised him in his first year of life as Ben. In return she will also discover it was an act of revenge that ROCO had to learn of this before she and Dante felt he was ready. Given she had been. In a comma and was trying to gain back lost years with Rocco that she missed.
The story with Britt will change and most likely Lulu will discover she and Dante do not have a child together that Britt is the biological mother.

I hope Lulu tells Rocco the entire truth because she didn’t do anything wrong and he’s owed the truth.

Boy though, is Finn Carr acting the h*ll out of this story?!!! His facial expressions and body language are so spot on. This kid should win an Emmy!

You are absolutely correct, Rodd. The kid is so good, one forgets that he’s acting. He’s a natural.

Bryan Craig, the two-time Daytime Award-winning actor, best known to soap fans as Morgan Corinthos on General Hospital has landed another feature film role. According to i68 Studios, Craig has been cast in the upcoming proof-of-concept to motion picture, The Weapon.

Production begins on August 27th in Texas, and Craig will play the role of Miller, the youngest member of Isaiah Fury’s original team. Miller is said to be, “A brilliant recon and tech specialist, Miller is quick-witted and uses humor to keep fear at bay. But when everything goes wrong, his loyalty wins out over fear, and he follows his brothers into the fight.”

The Weapon loglines share that the film is about brotherhood, sacrifice and what a man is willing to endure for the people he loves. Set against the backdrop of covert operations and a terrifying experiment that changes Isaiah Fury forever, this story asks what remains of a man when everything he thought made him human is stripped away. BRYAN CRAIG’S MEMORABLE RUN AS MORGAN CORINTHOS

Since leaving General Hospital, Craig’s other roles have included: ABC’s Grand Hotel and Freeform’s Good Trouble, along with appearances in Valor, Walker and American Fighter to name but a few.

Bryan appeared on General Hospital for his initial run as Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) son from 2013-2016. His journey ended when Morgan was presumed dead after a car bomb killed him that was meant for Sonny. Craig later returned for appearances as Morgan in different iterations in 2018 and 2024. Craig won back-to-back Daytime Emmy Awards in the former Outstanding Younger Actor category in 2016 and 2017.

It was back in 2016, that Craig told Soap Opera Digest on his decision to exit General Hospital: “It’s been an amazing journey, but I feel like the time is right for me to say goodbye to General Hospital and Morgan Corinthos. This was not an easy decision and I am extremely grateful to ABC, Frank Valentini, and the entire GH cast and crew for the opportunity and their unyielding support. To the wonderful fans who have embraced and loved Morgan as one of their own, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

So, glad to hear of Bryan’s casting in The Weapon? Are you still holding onto hope that GH will bring back a very much alive Morgan Corinthos that could shake-up the canvas? Share your thoughts in the comment section.

John Oliver Recaps His ‘Days of Our Lives’ and ‘General Hospital’ Soap Opera Experience on ‘Last Week Tonight’

Published

on

By

John Oliver

Last Week Tonight host, John Oliver had his soap dreams come true on not one, but two long-running daytime dramas, heralding it his “hot soap summer” on the Sunday night, August 16 edition of his HBO series.

As viewers recall, Oliver’s tour of soap duty began back in March when he made a request and an offer to appear in any daytime drama that would have him with certain conditions, which included: having a ridiculous and over the top character name, a juicy storyline, and a slap.

Both Days of Our Lives and General Hospital came a-calling for Oliver, taking him up on his offer and in short order. Oliver appeared on GH in the role of the head of the WSB named  Z on episodes airing July 2-6, and then on DAYS in the role of Salem’s chief water inspector, Devlin St. John, in episodes that streamed the week of August 11.

Photo: ABC

FIRST STOP, PORT CHARLES

On Last Week Tonight, Oliver shared that both soaps delivered, and then launched into a comedic send-up complete with clips from some of his scenes. Starting with General Hospital.

Oliver said, “To General Hospital’s credit, they met all my requirements and more. First, my character got to arrive by a helicopter flanked by a pair of armed goons. And I got to do a dramatic walk during which I bravely shot in the general direction of a guy who was already on the ground. It’s called being an action star, by the way, unless you’re me or Vin Diesel, you really wouldn’t understand. And then in my next scene, I revealed my true identity. (Oliver played the scene where Josslyn wakes up in a hospital bed with Z standing at the side of her bed introducing himself).

He continued, “As for getting slapped, well, they knocked that and me out of the park too, because it turns out that agent’s mother was not happy with me,” explained Oliver, as they cut to the slap of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) in the WSB Port Charles bureau office on Z. Oliver screamed, “YES! It has everything! A slap, a dramatic closeup, and me doing a voice so wrong, it is genuinely embarrassing. That was my honest attempt at an American accent. I can’t tell you why it’s southern. I can only tell you I was trying my hardest.”

Photo: ABC

SECOND STOP, SALEM

Then, came John’s wrap-up of his role of Devlin St. John on Days of Our Lives, the town’s chief city water inspector. “It is on Days of Our Lives I appeared in scenes alongside soap legends like Jackée Harry (Paulina) and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie). And the Days of Our Lives team met my demands in a whole different way because instead of being an international spy boss, they wrote me a character a little more my speed.”

Cut to a clip of Oliver introducing himself as Devlin St. John to Rita. He explains, “I’m the only thing standing between this town and a catastrophic plumbing failure. A literal sewage apocalypse. They made me Salem’s Chief City Water Inspector, which let’s be honest, is perfect casting. If you’re going to bottle my essence and sell it as cologne, it would be called ‘Chief City Water Inspector.'”

DEVLIN’S WIG

The late night host also clarified all the reports, that the wig he wore for his DAYS character he actually brought from home. “Now, as for the hair, I agree, it’s absolutely incredible. It’s been reported this past week that it is a wig I brought to set from home. And while it wasn’t technically from home, we did actually provide that wig, and for good reason,” joked Oliver. “I’ve seen myself act. I knew the hair was going have to do 90% of the work. I’ll be honest, I was going for a healthy John Stamos (ex-Blackie, GH) look, but instead, it appears I ended up looking more like Tina from Bob’s Burgers.”

Photo: Corday Productions

“And if you’re wondering whether I got slapped on Days of Our Lives, not only was I slapped by a man wearing elegant silk pajamas (EJ), I also got to slap him, which felt utterly incredible. But wait, I was also stabbed with a syringe and not once, not even twice, but three different times. And if that wasn’t enough, this happened too.” At that point, Oliver played the clip of Rita using the taser on Devlin.

JOHN OLIVER LEAVES DOOR OPEN FOR A SOAP RETURN

The now late night star-turned-soap actor concluded his segment with, “Are you not entertained? Watching that makes me feel the way I assume Matt Damon felt after seeing the first cut of the Odyssey, both proud and impressed that my body could even do that. Which again, you wouldn’t understand. You’re not an action star like I am now. ”

As he ended his recap, Oliver thanked both soaps for playing along, and noting that neither DAYS or GH actually killed him off! Could a John Oliver return happen down the line? Stay tuned.

Watch John detail his soap dreams come to life on General Hospital and then Days of our Lives below.

Now let us know, what did you think of the performances of John Oliver on General Hospital and Days of our Lives? Did you prefer one over the other or enjoy both of his guest arc visits?
