GENERAL HOSPITAL: Sam and Drew Tie The Knot! What Did You Think Of Their Vows?

By Michael Fairman

In a simple and touching ceremony, Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Drew (Billy Miller) made it official and were married in front of Curtis and Jordan, and Alexis, Monica and Molly.

When it was time for the “I do’s”, the couple had written their own vows.

Drew, expressed that even though he has faced all of these challenges in knowing and remembering his true identity, he is always and forever in love with Sam.

During her vows, Sam expressed that the last two months of challenging changes, (Jason being alive, and Drew being revealed to be his twin) has not changed her feelings for him, and that she loves Drew so very much.  Following the vows, the couple exchanged rings and were officially married. Following the nuptials, Curtis )Donnell Turner) made a speech honoring the happy couple,

But, before the ceremony, Jason (Steve Burton) was seen thinking about Sam on the bridge, as Sam flashed back to her conversations with Jason on his return, when she tells him she feels badly for all he lost, but she loves Drew.

The wedding featured touching performances by Kelly Monaco and Billy Miller, as well as Steve Burton as Jason now being the odd man out.

So, what did you think of the wedding ceremony? Are you happy for Sam and Drew? Comment below.

Kelly Monaco played it like she didn’t want to be there.

Nice (expected) touch of Monica adopting Drew. Next step, taking the Quartermaine name.

I agree-re: taking the Quartermaine name. Why not? The mobster doesn’t want it.

Hope he does. I find Drew’s relationship with Monica touching. However, I will not except this change of name acceptable as a replacement for them sending Dillon off into the sunset.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a recast Dillon sometime this year

Why would they recast Dillon, Steve? Robert Palmer was shocked when they let him go; and upset. There were many petitions going around to save him and it seemed like they put him on recurring. After today’s episode seems like that fell through. Another ridiculous cut. We need the Q family and I thought Robert Palmer was great in the role from the minute he stepped in.

I long for the days of soap weddings when they were a highly anticipated 2 day event, not a Tuesday afternoon 5 minute special. I liked when they had a big hall or a church, not a cramped apartment set. I loved when they would go on location, which could have been far flung, or simply a park two blocks from the studio. I liked when everyone who SHOULD be at the wedding WAS at the wedding, not three people and 2 extras. Soaps have to get back to rewarding fans with event weddings. It is a payoff. Soaps will go on location to film violent kidnapping or murder scenes or explosions. They will rent warehouses to film mob shoot outs. They will film outdoor car scenes or indoor car scenes in real parkades if someone gets hit by a car or stuffed in a trunk. I get that we have no more breathlessly awaited supercouples who took years to get to the altar, and I get that budgets are tight. But if they can spend the money on gloom and doom, they should be able to find some for uplifting events like weddings!

While I’d love to see location weddings, I know the budget just isn’t there. I thought Sam and Drew’s wedding was rightfully low key. Her disposition and dress were off for me.

That they couldn’t find the money to have Mac and Felicia at Kevin and Laura’s wedding was stupid. It coincided with the reveal that Felicia actually won the mayoral race, which should have been looked at more from her POV.

Ned and Olivia’s wedding was lacking for a Quartermaine affair. Would it really break the bank to bring back Brook Lynn for an episode or 2?

Jason’s heart is fractured, he’s lost so much….He’s who my heart bleeds for.

I loved it. Love dream

I loved it and love them together.

How can Sam be so much in love with someone she doesn’t even know? Drew still has all of Jason’s memories and none of his own. What’s is his real personality like? Liz got bashed for wanting to marry Jake Doe with no memories. How is this any better?

Bring on the JaSam reunion. At least Sam actually knows him!

no way she loves the person who made up drew and how he is. far better then with sb. she knows the kind of of person drew is,and lovs him that`s all that matters
they had a beautiful wedding

no she doesn’t everything drew is IS Jason his thoughts his memories his personality are all from living as Jason for 5 years. No one knows the kind of person Drew is except Kim since she knew him before.

Well his memories of his daughter being born are his alone.

Drew has his own personality, regardless of whether he lost his memories. If someone has amnesia, but was always funny or intelligent, quiet or loud, affectionate or distant…they’re still all that. The only thing that Drew doesn’t know is his past. Which is why many said “Drew” was never really “Stone Cold.” Because, his personality was always different; it was his own. That’s why he became close to Monica, was a “teensy” more forgiving than Jason regarding Franco, less eager to do Sonny’s bidding, wanted to quit the mob and start a safer life…

These things are all who he is…now he has to fill in the blanks.

not overly impressive

Mumbly! I was so focused on poor Genie Francis that I couldn’t tell you anything they said.

I’m upset about Genie too. I’ve always loved the stories on this show but with this move, I am having it tough to hold the show in high regard as I always have.

I loved it. It was simple and beautiful and full of emotion. I love Dream.

I loved the wedding. It heartfelt, ultra romantic and all about Drew and Sam. I sometimes think viewers have forgotten just how much these two have been through in the last couple of years. They’ve formed a rock solid bond and have a connection strong enough to pull each other away from the brink of death. And chemistry between Billy Miller and Kelly Monaco is scorching hot and undeniable and they are phenomenal in their scenes together.

I’m sure it’s very sad for fans of Sam and Jason to see that couple come to an end but I’m sure Steve Burton is excited for the challenge to establish himself as half of a new great couple on General Hospital.

I really enjoyed the ceremony and thought it was closure for Jason. Sam has moved on to someone that she loves and will give her the life she wants for herself and her children. a life she never could have with jason.

Why is she still wearing white every time she gets married? Just asking! And goodness grief what’s the saying, the more thins change the more they stay the same, seeing JASON all teary eye was nauseating, and Spinelli was annoying as usual, I feel like the show is going back five years to being the sonny, Carly, & Sam , JASON show. It’s sad in the direction they seam to be going especially since some of us were hoping they be more inclusive and showcase their talented cast instead of the four musketeers. Does everything have to revolve around these four. Just think about it, Nelle and Michael story is bout how sonny n Carly feel , Jason’s return bout sonny n Carly , joslin and Oscar, more Carly, Faison, Anna’s greatest foe is fest what? Now foursome #1 foe. Ava’s redemption tie to guess who? And on and on .

Sam and drew were married in front of Curtis Monica Molly Alexis and little Danny , not Jordan, she had the sense to leave something that won’t last, lol.

Carly has worn white the last few times she has been married, too (Franco, Sonny). Every story somehow revolves around Sonny, Carly, Jason, and Sam. I agree, it gets old!

I know, Aria. All I can say is I knew Sam before she was a virgin,
Other than the dress, I can’t really comment on the wedding scene because I think I fell asleep.
I just find Sam and Drew to be incredibly dull together.

You are not the only one, Harry!

Dull is putting it mildly.

you can wear white as many times as you want. girls that are pregnant even wear white, it`s just a color.jordan left because she was called in,to workshe didn`t want to leave.sam and drew are the hottest couple gh has not one thing dull about them .they sizzle .sure wasn`t like that with the ex, talk about dull.

Lots of people wear white to their wedding even though they’ve been married several times…. but the rest of your statement I totally agree with I am so sick of them throwing Billy Miller under the bus… like Sonny and Carly’s and Spinelli’s opinions are the only ones that count??? Give me a break… I always found Steve Burton dull before he was with Sam… I wasn’t particularly happy that ihe came back as Jason…. it’s more like real life that she wants to be with somebody who isn’t killing people for a living….. the elephant in the room with his show is about criminals being glorified and I don’t particularly like that…. a good guy with an edge is cool…. but the way Jason is always been written is like he’s this wonderful guy he just happens to kill people for a living… I really don’t get that…. I have been watching GH since I was a little kid with my mom… and if you’re going to have anti-heroes at least have them have some socially redeeming value….

Loved it!!! KM and BM have done a tremendous job with this couple and their hard work in making sure that this pairing is believable and root-worthy is commendable. Despite the angst coming their way, this wedding was such a sweet touch. I truly hope they keep them together because there’s nothing better than watching two actors feed off one another so beautifully!

WELL said, surline. And it was nice to have a sweet, drama-free event without the duplicitous Carly or fairweather friend Spinelli interrupting at an inopportune moment. Just wish they’d let Billy shave that beard and grow his beautiful hair out. So tired of the grubby beard look in Hollywood. They’re actors–we want to see their faces!

Amen to those tonsorial tips, Soaphound! Billy is such a handsome dude…it would be nice to see him shine in all his well-groomed glory! Ditto for other less well-kempt males on the GH canvas, as well!

so agree, billy and kelly love working and being together. love them they are the best thing that gh has

did I expect to see a drag out knock down FIGHT between a gun for hire and a Navy Seal? Cain and Abel…

this story is not interesting enough… the writers @GH… already quashed this story… they marquee this like it was the 2nd coming of Christ.

Christ , did you see Sam getting ready for her wedding… MONOTONE is putting it mildly .. she’s clearly a dullard… as she looks in her makeup mirror and has a flashback of her and SB wedding. oh well. Sam as the prize has spiraled any thing this story could have done. i’m sick of it.. as Billy Miller , did he cash in ? is he that happy as an actor doing nothing? oh wait.. he’s the owner of Aurora.

is Steve Burton better served with being mauled over by Laura Wright ? what kinda show is this? same ole same ole. of course it is. his mantra : if Sam is happy then so I must be.

the only excitement generating… is Tamara Braun flexing it and doing it with William DeVry. Julian has his swag back… he’s smiling… he’s moving ON from Alexis… with Kim in the picture… it’s so easy to dismiss Alexis and Julian.

the new picture show : Kim and Julian

this wedding is that much more ad nauseum… as every other script between Kelly and Drew.. they’ve exchanged marriage vows so many times it got sick

Monotone Sam/Mumbles/and Dullard, another good nickname. I wish the character would leave the canvas. I get so bored watching her on-air.

good to hear that Julian is moving on sexy DeVry, love that Sam married Drew, Miller is the man. I wish they give Maura , Michelle strong storylines these ladies can make me wanted snatch them out the TV, yet nothing yet.

Yes, Luisa, I agree. William deVry is one sexy man. Heck, even the back of his neck turns me on. And you’re also right about Michelle Stafford…she deserves so much more. And Billy Miller is the man for me as well.

I thought for sure Sam would be abducted upstairs before she came down the stairs as the wedding march played. I still think Faison will grab her and Jason and Drew will have to work together to save her.

Now we’re talking…

I resent like hell Sonny trying to make the Faison/Anna story all about him.
Anna is fearless and with her roundhouse kicks and karate chops, she is the Emma Peel of the WSB.
No, Sonny, the fear in Anna’s eyes is not the same fear you saw in your battered mother’s eyes. Anna is nobody’s victim, stop trying to make this all about you. Get your own story. I am sorry, don’t know why I started talking to Sonny like he’s a real person who comments on this site.

I agree. I like Sonny and often stick up for him BUT I see this to, let Sonny sell his “Coffee” and let Anna do her thing! I dont even mind Jason being involved with Anna because Faison “Shot” him in the back. Plus, Jason and Robin are very much connected so Jason respects Anna. I know this is horrible BUT I was hoping Faison would have taken out Lulu. OR, what about Finn? Faison needs to do something diabolical. Thats who he is and always will be! [No complaints here!] Valenti would never kill off Finn. Well, maybe. Michael Easton can always return for the 100th time playing ANOTHER new character!

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Drew was still married, so this whole ridiculous thing was all for nothing.

First of all I was never a JaSam fan so i have no vested interest in them getting back together. Also I didn’t care much for Sam when she was with Jason because she centered her whole world around him way too much. After Jason “died” she became stronger and more independent and this has grown more with Drew. And let’s face facts now-if she chose Jason she would be endangering her children and her own life as well because clearly Jason has no intention of changing his life as Sonny’s hitman/right hand man. Sam clearly doesn’t want that life of danger anymore and she loves Drew because with him she has the family and safety she wants now in her life and she and Jason both know that Jason can’t and won’t provide that for her. Jason needs to move on and find someone who can handle his chosen way of life because Sam is no longer that person.

I guess it’s finally sinking in – for Sam… yeah, she never saw a body… to connect to “Jason” being gone for 5 years… but 5 long years has passed… and it sank in her mind… that as a mother… she think safety first for her newfound family.. and believe it or not… she loves drew… wallah

as for Jason : he’s telling Kim…. of the past 5 years.. he remembers “nothing” except for the past 5 months he was in that “Russian Clinic” so time never moved. he still “thinks” he should be married .. and still carries the same love that never left him…

I liked the reactions of Jason and Kim as they were shooting pool…. it hit Kim moreso when she was told Sam and Drew are getting married.

I had to think about Jason sitting at the bar at the end of the bar drinking his beer by himself… as the wedding night progressed

dag! he doesn’t even know any one to truly commiserate this. I am always glad tho when Sonny and Carly are not sharing ALL HIS screen time… so yeah… if this is time for Jason to stretch his acting chop and fly on his own.

I felt for him…

thus far: Jason has not “fought” for Sam one iota

yet, the WRITERS have shown Sam… so “devoted” to “Drew” her husband

Jason and Sam shared 3 kisses on the haunted STar. WITH those flashbacks .. when they were ALL that… won me over.. and I said cyanara to Drew

so.. to see Stone Cold being just that… stoic silent any emotion barely rising OUTSIDE OF HIS Buggah blue eyes… take flight and not hold back… according to the writers and fans flailing ABOUT those infamous eyes taking over

NOW … OK not so out of the blue … Drew and Sam FINALLY get married having heard them profess haughtily and mightily renewind their vows over and over. do get married

without so much as a real fight from Steve BUrton character? WHAT WAS THIS ABOUT? yeah, I think they love each other…

don’t forget that cuter post… irreconcilable differences “he loves her, she loves “him” .

so it’s like there is never going to be a fight coming from Steve Burton. unless a mob story gets them entangled… I don’t see any reason why to commit to this

is Kelly Monaco Sam going to resonate that much back and forth… thankfully they are cute as heck YEARS AGO. that’s not going to make Sam of here and now.. that much worth the fight… with stoic cold stone vigilantly holding on to what was… same ole same ole EVEN WITH Sonny and Carly… who ARE NOT generating anything new with… outside of proclaiming Carly has her BFF and Sonny has his supposed side kick.. as he used Jason… because he doesn’t even think

I do think Drew and Sam are going to bore us
I do think Carly and Sonny with Michael and Nelle.. are boring

yes i’m using that word… because I can’t stand to use the word dullard.. yet I will @the writers

it’s going to be interested to see what the WRITERS WILL delve in to or dole out… as they rethink the CANVAS and cast to choose from in which to invite us

because the show isn’t going anywhere with the 4 muskateers and the now infamous and BIGGEST disregard and disrespect going on now… from Frank Valentini… NO Kevin Laura and Spencer… Frank has severed GH in such a way as who knows what to do

they counted on Steve Burton and CArly and Sonny.. with Sam . at this point with Sam and Drew getting married that quickly… I can’t count on Billy Miller at all.

it’s an empty show… unless they put Kim and Julian frontburner

get back to Valentin WITH Anna or Nina… WRITERS WRITE for Michelle Stafford. bring back this threesome with Charlotte.

LEAVE Finn out of the Anna picture.

GH still reads better than Y&R and thankfully DAYS is full steam ahead

I thought the ceremony was very seeet. Those vows were beautiful and perfect for them. Love how the wedding was small with people who really love them.

I felt Sam had some reservations but went ahead with it. I was surprised that Jason or Spinelli didnt show up and yell “stop this wedding.”

Being a fashionista we have to say something about the dress! Does anyone remember Gunne Sax dresses from the late 70’s?? I had one for one of my proms. I immediately thought Gunne Sax when she came down the ‘aisle’, LOLOL!
Otherwise…. The episode seemed very underwhelming now with the weekend abuzz about Genie, etc. I’d love to see Jason paired up with someone a little down the road, have him get his stuff together for a while before jumping into a relationship. I liked him and Kim together, him and Ava, but I also like who each of them are paired with at present.

I hope you are meaning : Ava and Griffin ; Kim and Julian

now these are sizzling pairings

doesn’t that sound so nice dreamy and MOVING ON w/the show

but I have to point this out : I find Sonny and Carly ; drew and Sam so D-U-L-L

so to see the possibilities of new couples…

GH isn’t going to see it’s ratings move if we don’t see any other relationships develop

this show has to be more than… the 4 musketeer

to see Kevin and Laura spiral… for naught… without Spence

ps: I’ve wanted to post about Ava one woman show.

I didn’t notice any thing that stood out.. about Ava per se

I just noted TWO things-

1. is how HOT Scotty Baldwin still is. I loved his darker hair with goatee @ the gallery… fine gussied up

2. UNDENIABLE loaded full steam ahead.. Maura West and Bryan Craig STILL HAVE . wattage power load … altho did it seem to me it was more on the comforting side and maternal ? if he does return… i’m certain they will lessen his bi-polar… OK no disrespecting the issue. just any thing to get him and keep him and AVA out of the Corinthos orbit…

Scotty and Morgan WOAH

Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kelly & Billy are magical together. Loved when Drew was saying his vows and knelt down to Sam’s level. It’s the small things Kelly & Billy do that make this couple seem so real. Wish Scout was there

I do wish that they were married someplace else. Her mom’s house or Monica’s. Never should of been in the Pent House. Hello that place needs to be demolished. Its been tainted since Jake was conceived there.

The ceremony was beautiful and Sam was pretty, loved the dress! Drew was very handsome and Danny was very handsome! Loved Monica being there and Curtis and the Davis girl and mother! It was perfect!!!

I am just glad they actually hired a day player to be the justice of the peace and weren’t married by aunt Stella or any other character — that is one of my pet peeves shows too cheap to hire an actor for the day so they make one of the characters the officiant– most soap weddings are joke compared to what they used to be, but still it is nice when they make an effort to somewhat realistic

I loved her dress because it reminded me of mine from 1985, ha, ha.

It was a beautiful wedding, and I loved the fact that Monica offered to adopt Drew!!!! Now he needs to become a Quartermaine!!!! As for Jason, yes him and Sam had some good times, but there were also a lot of bad ones-where Jason would leave Sam over and over again, and always end up with Elizabeth!!!! One time, when he was with Elizabeth,Elizabeth broke up with Lucky to be with Jason!!!! Sam got together with Lucky, and they ended up being a hotter item than Jason and Elizabeth!!!! Then Jason and Sam got married, which was great at the time, but Franco had to mess up their honeymoon,so,as a result,Jason treated Sam like dirt when she was pregnant with Danny-wanting her to get an abortion at first, because of the possibility that Danny was Franco’s!!!! Of course,we know that he’s not,but Jason still shouldn’t have treated Sam that way!!!! Drew puts Sam and the kids first, with Jason,Sam was behind Sonny,Carly,Michael, and Morgan!!!! Now Morgan’s gone, but you get the idea!!!!!

I love her with Drew. Loved the wedding. It’s such a relief to have a happy couple.

A bit of yawn for me. It really doesn’t speak to me as a fan when they make these weddings so small that you blink and miss them.

Watching Sam walk down the stairs, looking like she was going to her death, while Billy was all smiles throughout it all, made me sick. Instead of white, maybe she should have dressed in sackcloth and ashes. Seemed like everyone was happy, but the bride. Oh yes, she said all the right words, but does she really believe them? Of course she still thinks of Jason, and the way they were, but does she honestly, truley love Drew? I think she is cheating all three of them. Is she really worthy of all the love and heartache, these two men are going through, because of her? I always think of that old song, Torn Between Two Lovers, and the words were written for Sam.

I thought it was bittersweet. Simple, understated, very nice. “Danny” is too cute. Beautiful boy. I loved, as others said, that Monica offered to adopt Drew. That was perfect. So meaningful since Drew has felt, after finding out he wasn’t Jason, like an imposter and an outsider. Her complete acceptance and love for him is very touching.

As for the wedding, it was intentionally focused on Sam to show her conflict. She’s obviously still in love with Jason, was remembering another time and place where she and Jason said their vows…and it looked like she might call off the wedding. Then it seemed she took a deep breath, remembered that she loved Drew, too…and went forward with it. Heartbreaking, really, because her heart belongs to two men…Drew’s belongs only to her. (Perhaps it won’t once his memories flood back.)

So, it was sweet, loving and warm. But I felt through the whole thing Sam’s emotional turmoil, Drew’s happiness, Jason’s regret and sacrificial loss.

Sad.

ok, So what happens when Drew finally has ALL of his own memories? Sam married Drew a guy who she built a relationship with in Jason’s home with Jason’s past if She didn’t have [Emily ‘Scout] Do you think she still w]

It is because BM/Drew does not have his memories back yet.. he’s still has Jason’s memories which is why he couldn’t answer Kim or Oscar’s questions. Think instead of rushing to get married since Jason helped him from staying out of MP Jail for being MIA. The s/l would have been better if Drew helped out with Sonny and Jason. Afterall, this affects him too. Drew and Sam should have waited until Drew gets his memories back. Sam knows “Drew” as A MAN with Jason’s past. They built a relationship with his memories NOT Drew’s . Think things will be A LOT different once he gains his memories back. Think Drew . For all we know things can change and not for the better. Recall that dream of him choking “Jake ” in his sleep and Jake being afraid of him. So not picturing a happily ever after ending for Drew and Sam. Think Betsy sent him away cause Drew pushed Franco down the stairs. Think there is a violent streak in him. #JustAnOpinion [Why else would they substitute and do this ? They were planning on using him to infiltrate Sonny’s organization and then take him out using Drew/Jason and no one would be the wiser except something went wrong with their plan. ]

‘General Hospital’s’ Steve Burton Shares Reaction to His Lead Actor Daytime Emmy Nomination, ‘It Was to Honor Leslie Charleson’

The 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations kicked-off on Monday with the announcements of four major categories including, Outstanding Lead Performer in a Daytime Drama Series — Actor, and among the nominees is General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason Morgan).

Burton is already a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his roles as GH’s Jason and his turn as Dylan McAvoy on Y&R. However, Steve is yet to win in the Lead Actor category and he has received 11 nominations along the way in his daytime career.

Following the reveal that he is a 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee, he and his GH co-star, podcast co-host and comedy show partner, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) taped a special edition of their That’s Awesome podcast just featuring Burton’s reaction to the news.

FOR LESLIE CHARLESON

Steve expressed, “I know it’s such a cliche to say, ‘I’m just so honored to be nominated.’ But truly, I’m so grateful to be nominated, so grateful to just be on the show off and on for 30 plus years and to be nominated with the guys in my category. Just to get the opportunity. Frank (Valentini, executive producer, GH) texted me right away. I was just like, ‘Thank you for the opportunity to get to do what I do.'”

Taking in the moment, Burton thanked those who helped him select the material for his nominated reel. “Unless you win, you don’t get to say things. So. I’m going just say a few things: Elizabeth Korte (co-head writer, GH) helped me a lot with the material, (as did) Michelle Henry, who’s a producer on the show, Laura Wright (Carly, GH), and then my wife Michelle (Lundstrom). I believe it was Jill Phelps who told me that when A Martinez felt like he had a great show or great scenes, he would mark it down. So, when Emmy time comes, you have all the show numbers written down, and you don’t have to think about it, because that’s half the battle (finding the material).

Burton explained how meaningful this nomination is for him, because of playing the scenes of Jason losing Monica, and his closeness with the late, great Leslie Charleson.

“The nomination’s an amazing thing, and it’s beautiful, but really it’s to honor Leslie Charleson. A lot of my material was because of her, and how I started on the show as a Quartermaine, it just means a ton,” shared Burton. “Maurice Benard (Sonny, GH) has obviously has been instrumental, and I’ve said it from day one and I’ll shout it from the rooftops. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be here, and to be working with the people that we work with is incredible.”

SHOULD JOHN OLIVER BE NAMED HOST OF THE DAYTIME EMMYS?

During the end of his conversation with Anderson, Steve suggested that the host of the Daytime Emmy should be Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver, who recently guest starred as the head of the WSB named Z on General Hospital, and is soon to show up on Days of Our Lives in a mystery role in August.

Thus far, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has not revealed their host for the upcoming ceremony to be held on October 30 in a venue to be named in Hollywood, California.

You can watch Steve sharing his reaction to receiving his 2026 Lead Actor Daytime Emmy nomination below on a special segment on the That’s Awesome podcast.

General Hospital’s 16,000th episode was packed with little reminders through points in today’s script that the ABC daytime drama series has set another milestone and it paved the way for the return of fan favorite and newly nominated Daytime Emmy Lead Actor nominee Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The 16,000th episode also introduced viewers to the new surgeon in Port Charles Dr. Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer.

Here are the key takeaways and what went down on the July 13 episode: Tristan and Jason are seated next to each other on a plane heading to Port Charles. Throughout the flight, a beaten up Jason has flashbacks to being thrown into, and being held captive in a cell and tortured. It appears Jason is suffering from some form of PTSD from what he was put through after being dragged out of Port Charles by the WSB months ago.

As the plane prepares to land, Tristan tells Jason there would be a car waiting for him once they land and to enjoy the rest of his life. Later, Tristan arrives at the nurses and doctors hub at GH and approaches Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). He tells her his name and that he is the new surgeon on staff.

A REUNION PLUS A HEAD NURSE DEFENDS SONNY

Meanwhile, at the end of the episode, Jason is outside the Quartermaine boathouse looking bewildered when he runs into Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), who is so thrilled to see his father, and the two hugs each other as tears are shed.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth tells Sonny (Maurice Benard) that he thinks its a great idea for him to get the 16th seat on the hospital board, but when it comes times to convince Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) of that, things go awry when Tracy, Laura and Sonny try to work things out. After Tracy launches into Sonny about killing Alan and Monica’s son AJ, Sonny walks away dejected.

Next, Sonny runs into Elizabeth, where he informs her what happened with Tracy. So what’s a head nurse to do? Elizabeth marches into the conference room and reminds Tracy of all the different donations and ways Sonny has contributed to the hospital from the Stone Cates AIDS wing, to the Michael Corinthos Center for Pediatric Head Injuries as well as his constant support each year for the GH Nurses’ Ball.

WSB WAR SCARS

Then, in one of the best parts for longtime fans of the series, Elizabeth talks about her legendary grandparents, Audrey and Steve Hardy and she tells Tracy they would have wanted Sonny to have a seat on the board for all the good that he has done for the hospital. After Elizabeth states Sonny’s case, things took a turn and Tracy and Sonny wound up shaking hands as Sonny is board member #16.

In the how great was it to see Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) together scenes department, the pick-up of last Friday’s cliffhanger is played out as the two former lovers fill each other in on what has gone down in their lives in the last several months including Valentin admitting he had been living in Carly’s attic, and Anna realizing she was kidnapped by Cullum, Sidwell and Cassius Faison. During their conversation, Anna sees the hallucination of Peter August (Wes Ramsey) right while Valentin is standing there.

Later Anna was on her way to saying goodbye to Valentin, when the two share an emotional hug. After Valentin made his exit, Peter reappeared and warned Anna to not let Valentin distract her because she has important work to do. Anna answers, “I know.”

So, what did you think of General Hospital’s 16,000 episode? What do you think is wrong with Jason? What is the important “work” that Anna has to do? Were you glad to see Sonny get a seat on the hospital board, or not so much. Weigh-in via the comment section. But first, check out the scenes on Jason and Tristan’s long flight to Port Charles.
